so since my last post I finished first year of med school :0 and now I’m spending the summer doing research!! back in the lab makes me feel so comfortable. literally like therapy

my goal this summer is to heal myself from stress and stuff. for the past couple years I think I’ve been hard on myself and it’s catching up. I wanna make sure I’m at my best for when I start actually seeing patients in the next years of med school :’)

Did a lot of lab work this week!

I feel like I’m still stuck in summer mode, and I have been hardcore procrastinating all weekend. But hopefully I’ll get myself sorted today because I have a lot of stuff to do!

My thesis supervisor: I've been thinking about something you said last week - that you aren't sure if you're going to do a master's degree. I believe you mean you're considering moving to another city?

Me: ...no. I'm not sure if I'm going to do a master's at all.

Him: why not?

Me: I worry it'll be too hard for me.

also, has it ever happened to you, that you forgot which DNA ladder you used and then you try match your result to a ladder to figure it out😭

I am having so much fun!!! I have been able to work with things that I've learned about, but never got to use (Gel electrophoresis/Western Blot). I feel a lot less anxious about life/everything in general. It's so mind-boggling because this is the feeling that I've been chasing since I was a teen. Just somewhere that feels right? Somewhere where I don't feel ashamed or judged. I know I'm only going to be here for the summer, but I am so grateful for this experience.

Genuinely thinking abt if Marcus had taken up Douglas' offer in the Vanishing. Would he have taken him & Daniel back to the Academy? Imagine if he moved them out to a little cabin somewhere. The new neighbors: a single dad & his two teen kids, except something's... wrong with them. It's implied that Marcus moved around a lot pre-canon, so in a way it's just like it was before, except w the addition of Dani. It's such a good avenue for character growth for all of them, the old Douglas vs the new one, past mistakes vs future hopes. Ugh.
