THE FINAL ONE: The Reboot

Under the Cut, but this is it! The end! I hope y'all liked my crossover!

Scary Girl AKA Lauren: She'd be a Gengar; Shadowy ghost of a (suspected) Clefairy that takes delight in tormenting others? Check. No idea what boundaries are? Check. Unintentionally creepier when attempting to be "normal"? Check.

Priya, The Novice of Everything: Thinking about Priya and her ridiculous amount of training toward TDI, I would think her season 1 self would be a Gabite; pretty well rounded, but not quite there yet. When Season 2 rolls around, she shows up fully evolved as a Garchomp. This is because it is one of the best all-around statwise non-legendary pokemon, it is well known as Cynthia's BEST pokemon, but it does have a fatal flaw in that x4 weakness to ice, which is the chink in its armor, so I'd say this reflects Priya fairly well.

Zee, The Good Vibes Only Guy: Zee would be a Clodsire. I wanted to make him a bit different from a Quagsire, especially since I already put a Quagsire on Owen's team. Still similar chilling and vibing but making Zee a bit different. Clodsire also works as it mostly just helps others and only attacks via reaction, when it itself is attacked.

Caleb, the Smoking Hot Player: Caleb is honestly the most boring player. As Chris said, YA BASIC. So Caleb strikes me as a pikachu, but during the series his traits lent themselves more to something like a Fighting type.

I chose Breloom for him; Grass/Fighting, very cute but often outperformed by better types.

Nichelle, Gorgeous with a Side of Substance: Pawmi -> Pawmot. Similar to Priya, Nichelle's season 1 appearance was underwhelming, but upon her return to season 2, she'd evolved. I made her a pikachu clone, because in universe, she's supposed to be popular and Pawmot actually does have good stats, and is a unique combination of types and can be used fairy effectively.

Chase & Emma, The Youtubers: Grimmsnarl and Hatterene, respectively. Introduced in the same game, opposing types, both male/female majority for their species, this felt natural. They butt heads just as often as they make up. While Chase can be useful at times, Emma is often overwhelmed with intense dislike and knows how to get inside his head.

Raj & Wayne, The Hockey Bros: These two share one braincell, and they're very good people but seem to be unable to really think for themselves. I decided on similar but different pokemon for them; I made Raj a Bolthund and Wayne a Manectric. Good kids, but uh...not exactly a lot going on upstairs.

Bowie, The Loveable Party Boy: Sneaseler, a competitive loner, who is another odd type; poison/fighting makes sense for his competitive streak driving him to do anything to win, but he often sets himself apart from everyone else. Being a cat-like pokemon also ties in his similarities to MK and Julia

Julia, The Influencer and Evil in Human Form: Liepard, as it is beautiful but this belies its cruel and merciless nature. Julia fits right into that, as of course, her season 1 personality was very "ASMR influencer" vs who she really is. It also explains her relationships with MK and Bowie, who share their own competitive streaks

Mary-Kate "MK", The Outrageous and Underestimated: MK is, of course, a Sneasel. Sneaky, devious and willing to do whatever it takes, MK is well suited to the dark type. Her typing also shows as much as she wasn't close to anyone in Season 1, Season 2 she's developed a (b)romance with Julia

Damien, The Reactionary: Surprising no one, Damien is an Absol; poor kid is filled with DOOOM signals from the beginning, and is scared of his own shadow. He's also fairly likable so it makes sense he's an Absol, the pokemon for Emo Kids

Ripper, The Bad Boy: Alolan Muk. He's an odd mix between toxic and useful, I decided on Alolan Muk. Ripper has an open mouth, insert foot problem more often than not.

Axel, The Hard Core: Scizor; a very cool pokemon in appearance, and while it can be strong, the x4 weakness to Fire really makes it less useful, so I feel it reflects Axel pretty well.

Millie, The Book-Smart One: Delphox. An odd type combo, and while her psychic type shows her smarts, the fire typing shows Millie's inability to plan for much.

Real Name: Doran Chaplin.

Role: The Drifter.

Pronouns: Any/all.

Age: 26.

Likes: Discovering weird, niche hobbies no one’s ever heard of.

Dislikes: Doing the same thing twice

Known for: Once got really into competitive yoyo tricks for exactly three days and somehow won a local tournament before quitting mid-celebration. And this is normal for them.

Why TDI?: Don't know. They seemingly just signed up on impulse.

To summarize Lampent is to pretend you get Lampent. And... That's a very difficult thing to do. They’re a drifter; always moving, always looking for the next thing. Not because they’re running from anything, really, they just get bored fast. One minute they’re learning how to carve tiny boats from driftwood, the next they’re deep into some obscure card game they picked up in a café somewhere—did you know there’s a game with 72 suits? Wild. Anyway, they’re super friendly, and like to talk to everyone, even if they don’t stick around long. Settling down gives them the creeps. Not that they’re unreliable! When something grabs their attention, they really focus, until they don't. Oh, and they’ve been to, like, nine regions? Maybe ten. Lost count. Doesn’t matter. There’s always something new to try. Did I tell you about the time they learned glassblowing for a week? No? Never mind, it’s not important.

Will Lampent’s thrill for the new keep them one step ahead of the game? Or will their restless spirit send them spiraling off course when it matters most?

Sorray if my writings a little messy LMAO, but honestly I think I'm loving this idea. Like they could just be trainers you see in the wild.. Noah could be a trainer you could see in the wild. Last I checked, no trainer has held items... Besides Cynthia in BdSp? I haven't finished the games though

for the outfits, I took from their regular ones (Cody's striped shirt & whatever Noah has), but made sure to mix it up a little so it didn't look like I was just giving TD characters pokemon. I wanted to kinda get that Pokémon trainer clothing vibe w/ these, not sure how successful I was though

I put a bit of brainwork into the teams, and made them kind of based off personality. Since Noah is.. Yk.. Smart, I made his team center around strategy. Gollisopod is a spikes setter (idk if it still has the move now but oh well), then u-turns out to get some chip damage off. Then togekiss switches in, and uses calm mind once or twice then baton passes into his ace, malamar & sweeps (writing this, I realise malamar is more physical... And I'm not sure if baton pass ignores malamar's ability that swaps all stat changes).

Cody's team is kinda just me putting pokemon I think he would like, although like all of them are bipeds.. Woops.. I did go a little insane on the items, though vgc players would look down upon my team building skills still.

Pahkitew Island

Under the Cut! No teams since this season was SO short, and could've been something better but oh well. That leaves us with the Reboot here soon.

Amy and Sammy/Samey, The Evil/Good Twins: Since their identical appearance was a key plot point, I had to make them nearly identical pokemon. I settled on Meowth, solely because Amy would be an Alolan Meowth (Dark type, egotistical) and Samey would be a Kantonian Meowth; this would make the replacement ruse much easier.

Beardo, The Human Soundboard: In contrast with B, Beardo can't STOP making noise. Almost as bad as Staci. I decided against a Loudred and made him a Toxtricity (Low Key Form) instead. It felt more right.

Dave, The Nice Guy: Technically they said normal but I said what I said. I almost made him a grimer, because he's awful but I settled on Zubat because Dave had opportunity after opportunity to be better but still keeps FLYING INTO YOUR FACE WHEN YOU'RE TRYING TO GET THROUGH A CAVE. Unless you have a repel on.

Ella, The Fairy Tale Princess: Is it any wonder that she's a Chansey? She might be a bit delulu but Ella is just kind and gracious to most people, even Dave and Sugar.

Jasmine, The Australian Outback Girl: This one took a while; Jasmine is imposing and really cool, I actually liked her character a lot. I knew she would be a fighting type, but I wasn't sure which one to choose. Honestly, thinking about it more, I think she'd be a Hisuian Lilligant

Leonard, The LARPer: He returns and is still a Medicham.

Max, The Supervillain: Aww, lookit him, trying to be evil! What a good little supervillain!! He's a Poochyena, which has to date, only done one extra evil thing in the Pokemon game during the tutorial, and summarily got its butt kicked. That's Max.

Rodney, The Country Boy: A Galarian Slowpoke. Still slow on the uptake, but a different kind of unobservant and can get obsessed with one thing.

Scarlett, The Quiet Brainiac: A Malamar; mind control, a bit strange, a bit mad and would probably lie in wait like she did.

Shawn, The Zombie-Conspiracy Nut: Starting out as a Wimpod, since he can survive but runs away and leaves anyone else to fend for themselves at the first sign of danger. Eventually evolves into a Golispod, near the end.

Sky, The Athlete: It took a while for her, but I settled on Flamigo; Sky is the most "normal" during her introduction of all of our contestants, but as it progresses, she gets more and more odd and she is very competitive. This would also explain why Dave would like her, as she appears like a normal pokemon at first....

Sugar, The Pageant Queen: I made her a Pignite, since they obviously pulled another one-trick pony for her. Pignite, being a middle evolution, is not very threatening. Also, dressed like a wrestler, so it fits what they had Sugar do for her show run.

Topher, The Chris Wannabe: In his title, right there! He's another pikachu clone; I made him a Pachirisu, as he could be a useful pokemon, but he's trying to be too much like Chris to see his own value.
