been a while since I posted any TPD animations, so have these as a treat teehee

There is absolutely NO WAY you guys were just welcomed back into Toontown after that whole frame job with Roger and the whole deal with Doom.

Surely you must have earned your badges back, right? I mean, it's not like you were exactly trust worthy.

Esspecally from Roger's point of view.

First things first, we technically ain't the same toons no more since our bodies got dipped. With the others, it was easy to slap a soul back where it belongs, but I was dipped completely. How I still got all my memories, I got no idea. How toons are alive, I got no idea. If I had all the answers, do you think I would be interacting, cartoon weasel to fan, on Tumblr?

Anyway, it took a few decai for us to get back our old jobs. We got reanimated in the late '80s, but didn't really want to do nothing about our f jobs till maybe 12 years ago? We still was known collectively as the Toon Patrol even tho the LA City Council decommissioned the position on August 16, 1947.

What you gotta know is that Toons are a forgiving bunch. We're still cartoon villains and leaders of disorganized crime, but we're cured of the Real-world Evil that warped us, and that's what endears us to our kind. When a toon feels too strong an emotion that's normally only in humans, it warps 'em, turns them sour and Opposite at best and unmakes them at worst. Having your soul split from your lifeless body is only the first part. It's lucky my brothers only got that far..

That's why we can die from laughing too much. But before that, we started to act Human. Real world evil. You know the story. Part of it anyway.

There were some who couldn't forgive us and many too young to know what happened, but we literally started blank slate. Total emotional reset, although not a memory reset. Just enough reform to allow us to be functioning members of Toontown society with enough guilt sprinkled in to make us aware of our actions. Doom was probably in the "human emotion is freeing" camp, but literally, it'll start to slowly destroy you until you're less than a blob of paint and a flake of celluloid.

We had to fight for our old job, starting from the ground up in TPD. Desk jobs and Generic Paperwork. Not even internship level crap. It took a while, but it was worth it. We've done....well, it ain't good. WE ain't good. We're villains. Snips, snails and puppy dog tails is what we're made of! So we don't do GOOD for the town, but we keep the balance. In our official jobs as judiciary police for Toontown division of the LAPD, the TPD, of which we're the LATP, we're kind of liasons between the courts and the police department, splitting time between both. We also do some stuff usually done by sheriffs offices, or US Marshalls. That's what we were mainly doing under Doom, but we took the "protecting court proceedings and ensuring the safety of judicial personnel, gathering evidence for the prosecutor to use in court cases and arresting and interrogating suspects" part a LITTLE bit too far.

Our OTHER job is leaders of disorganized crime. We OWN all of Toontown's underground, which is where we really do our community outreach and worked to redeem ourselves. We fought even harder to retake the throne. After 1947, all hell broke loose and Toontown's underbelly was getting completely out of control. Too many rival gangs were competing for power; the rats, the stray cats, the possums, the raccoons. It was a mad dash for Head Honcho! But we were there at the beginning of this whole thing, so we know a thing or two about whipping underlings into shape. We cleaned up a lot of the streets (literally. It keeps us looking good. You can't showboat around town tripping over garbage, and the citizens like us for it!) and we keep our henchtoons in line. What we say goes. Who gets to be bribed, who gets to smuggle in a load of whoopie cushions, who gets to resolve a dispute with pencils and who gets to use magnets. (Pencils are great weapons against older toons. Magnets are for CGI toons). Although now Ai Slop Toons are beginning to crop up, we have our work cut out for us. Totally soulless toons who never had anything human that went into creating them....that must be like one of those Not Deer cryptid things.

I'm getting off track. Our work in the underworld means we keep the bad side from going full out crazy, and keeps the goody two shoes side from winning ALL the time. Managing the chaos is what really brings us respect; it means we can live with our fellow toons and not be in competition with them. Or want to destroy them. Because you know.... that's kind of important to a society.

It's never easy. Now I ain't got time to waste here. If you need me to clear anything up, you know where to ask, cause even though my voice came from a 78, I ain't no broken record and I ain't repeating myself right now. Sheesh! A weasels work ain't never done! -Smartass

I think at the beginning of my fexi writing, the one shot I was proud of was closer to you. One shot wise- it's probably still that but I haven't read it in so so long.

@darklexi reminded me but your silence echoes to me is another one im proud of- I think it was a lil angsty angsty early in the fexi game bc of the fight in that fic but IDK IM SORRY YOU KNOW ME JKDBGEJKEGJKB

I feel pretty lame in my writing sometimes but im real hypercritical of myself w that shit in general so it's hard to place what im proud of- I'm proud of it all but!!! I think TASTE and along with you reflect my traditional writing the best- so, I'm proud of those two for them being more within my voice as a writer

I'm proud of TPD for the length and for what it brought me (my friendships, practice in writing and people in general found me through that and followed my works bc of it or were just generally kind to me), and then I'm proud of HVLTW for how out of my element it was, like extreme out of my comfort zone.

But yeah I think I just want to add more shorter works closer to along with you length(50k)- that seems to be a good sweet spot! and im rambling im sorry LMAOOOO THIS HAD ME IN MY HEAD

My dash is pretty much empty of The Dragon Prince content now that the hype died down and that makes me sad. I really REALLY like the show but I'm unsure about following new TDP blogs because I don't want to encounter antis even though I don't have any ships in there.

Yep seems most people just jumped on TDP for the bandwagon and jumped off when the hype faded. I bet most of those people are antis, so if you see any TPD blogs that are still active, many of them are probably non-antis! Just keep an eye out on about/byf pages and stuff like usual

How is your writing process and how/when do you decide to post something? For example...do you have already a lot more chapters/parts written of TASTE or do you finish a chapter and then post it immediately? Btw....LOVE YOOOOOOUU ❤️❤️❤️

SO. I'm kinda sick fr because I actually work at 3 chapters at the same time for different works (I usually have 3 WIP at the same time, rn I only have one posted not counting TPD), is anyone else like this? like wtf selene why LMFAOO

Like, my mind fr be a windmill of just like activity so I'll take a night, write for one work, and then take the other night to work on another. So, right now, I'm working on 3 WIP- two are just not yet posted. I've learned from my mistakes of posting a story without WRITING AT LEAST HALF THE THING FIRST LIKE YEAH SELENE UR GONNA BURN URSELF OUT LMAOOOO. Usually, yes. I write a chapter, check it with my draft and then post it. I've been in that mental flop era so I haven't been consistent- TASTE chap 6 was supposed to come more quick but I was kind of just not in the mental space. Usually, I try to update every week- whatever it is that is in my catalogue of works based on how I'm feeling.

I usually free write with a heavy planned schedule for each chapter. So, for TASTE- I have all the chapter names, all the chapter events and quotes + things I want to focus on in that chapter + how I want to tackle character flaws or even highlight them o wow (so that the growth part is much more satisfying, yk?).

I know it's ready to be posted when I feel that it checks off most of what I want the chapter to conclude and also like now I actually go back and reread my chapter I WAS PLAYING GAMES FR WHEN I FIRST STARTED POSTING LMAOO now I really worry about quality and whether or not people enjoy it? I write long chaps so I get real nervous lmao but I'm anxious in general tho so must be a selene thing.

But yeah- kind of messy of a fanfic writer haahhajbfgjebfeb I'm sorry I just came into this game literally in February. I only read fics and worked on my original works and poetry and shit. I'm learning. BUT U GET ME! 🫶🏻
