Bad fucking day. Got told it was likely that I would be reported to tspc for "recruiting" if I start gsa at my school so now I have to choose between being brave and doing good.
I feel like a coward for being scared and considering not doing it. This is only my 4th year teaching.

Textured Soy Protein Concentrate: The Ultimate Plant-Based Protein Solution
As plant-based diets continue to gain traction worldwide, there is an increasing demand for high-quality, sustainable protein alternatives. One of the leading ingredients meeting this demand is Textured Soy Protein Concentrate (TSPC). Known for its versatility, nutritional profile, and sustainability, TSPC has become a go-to option for manufacturers looking to create plant-based foods that mirror the taste, texture, and nutritional benefits of animal-derived products.
At Sonic Biochem, we provide premium Textured Soy Protein Concentrate, offering a natural, efficient, and cost-effective solution for your food production needs. Whether you’re developing meat alternatives, snacks, or protein-enriched meals, TSPC is the perfect addition to your product lineup.
What is Textured Soy Protein Concentrate?
Textured Soy Protein Concentrate (TSPC) is a high-protein, plant-based ingredient derived from soybeans. The process begins with the extraction of oil from soybeans, leaving behind a concentrated protein. This protein is then mechanically processed to create a texture that mimics that of meat, providing a fibrous, chewy consistency that is ideal for use in meat substitutes and other food applications.
TSPC is a complete protein, meaning it contains all nine essential amino acids necessary for human health. This makes it an excellent choice for consumers seeking plant-based protein sources without compromising on their nutritional needs. Whether it's for vegetarians, vegans, or anyone looking to reduce their consumption of animal products, Textured Soy Protein Concentrate offers a high-quality alternative.
Key Benefits of Textured Soy Protein Concentrate
High Protein Content Textured Soy Protein Concentrate is a rich source of plant-based protein, containing up to 70% protein by weight. This makes it a perfect ingredient for developing high-protein foods such as plant-based meats, protein bars, and fortified snacks. By incorporating TSPC into your products, you can offer your customers a nutritious protein option without relying on animal-derived ingredients.
Versatile and Easy to Use TSPC is an incredibly versatile ingredient that can be used in a wide range of food products. From vegan burgers and meatballs to protein-rich smoothies and energy bars, Textured Soy Protein Concentrate is ideal for many applications. The ability to rehydrate and season TSPC allows it to easily absorb flavors, making it adaptable to a variety of cuisines and flavor profiles.
Sustainable and Eco-Friendly One of the most compelling reasons to use Textured Soy Protein Concentrate is its sustainability. The environmental impact of producing soy is significantly lower than that of animal farming. Soy requires less land, water, and energy to produce, and it generates fewer greenhouse gas emissions. By using TSPC in your products, you’re not only providing consumers with a healthy alternative, but you're also contributing to a more sustainable food system.
Health Benefits Textured Soy Protein Concentrate offers a host of health benefits. It is low in fat and cholesterol-free, making it an excellent choice for heart health. Soy protein has been shown to reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases and support overall metabolic health. Additionally, TSPC contains dietary fiber, which aids digestion and supports a healthy gut microbiome. As a plant-based protein, it is also free from the hormones and antibiotics often found in animal products.
Non-GMO and Clean Label Options At Sonic Biochem, we understand the growing demand for clean-label and non-GMO products. Our Textured Soy Protein Concentrate is made from non-GMO soybeans, ensuring that you can offer a high-quality, natural product to your customers. With no artificial additives or preservatives, TSPC is an ideal choice for manufacturers looking to produce clean-label products that appeal to health-conscious consumers.
Applications of Textured Soy Protein Concentrate
Plant-Based Meat Alternatives One of the most popular uses of Textured Soy Protein Concentrate is in the development of plant-based meat products. TSPC’s ability to mimic the texture of meat makes it perfect for creating burgers, sausages, meatballs, and other meat analogs. By using TSPC, manufacturers can offer consumers delicious, plant-based alternatives that satisfy both taste and texture preferences.
Protein-Enriched Snacks TSPC is also an excellent ingredient for protein-enriched snacks like protein bars, chips, and ready-to-eat meals. Its high protein content and neutral flavor profile make it easy to incorporate into snacks that provide a satisfying, healthy option for on-the-go consumers.
Soups, Stews, and Sauces Thanks to its ability to absorb liquids and seasonings, Textured Soy Protein Concentrate is an ideal addition to soups, stews, and sauces. Whether it’s adding protein to a vegetable soup or creating a hearty, protein-packed sauce, TSPC can enhance the nutritional value and texture of these dishes.
Dairy Alternatives TSPC can also be used in the formulation of dairy alternatives. Whether you’re creating vegan cheese, plant-based yogurt, or protein-packed smoothies, Textured Soy Protein Concentrate can provide the necessary texture and protein content to meet the demands of the plant-based dairy market.
Why Choose Sonic Biochem for Your Textured Soy Protein Concentrate?

In the opening scene of the stop motion animated film The Wind in the Willows, Moley puts his paintbrush into his tea and then tries to drink it. Whenever I'm painting I think about this, and yet have still dunked my brush in my tea though I'd imagine I'm more vigilant for it given The Fear
TSPC presumably doesn't have the same core memory but has a "dunk things in liquids" main hobby and I fear for them so much. so much
fun fact if you put rum(captain morgan), orange crush, and baijiu (dazhigu kaoliang liquor) together in a cup you end up with something that tastes like pure vanilla soda

Unlocking the Potential of Textured Soy Protein Concentrate in Vegan Cooking
In the ever-evolving landscape of vegan cuisine, one ingredient consistently stands out for its versatility, nutritional profile, and ability to mimic the texture of meat: Textured Soy Protein Concentrate (TSPC). Alongside its cousins, textured soy and textured soy flour, TSPC has become a staple in vegan kitchens around the world. Let's dive into how these soy-based products can transform plant-based cooking, making it easier, more nutritious, and incredibly delicious.
Tumblr media
The Basics of Textured Soy Protein Concentrate
Textured Soy Protein Concentrate is derived from soybeans, a powerhouse of plant-based protein. Through a process that removes the majority of soybean oil and water, what's left is a high-protein, low-fat product that's incredibly dense in nutrients. TSPC is known for its remarkable ability to absorb flavors and mimic the texture of meat, making it an ideal ingredient for vegan and vegetarian dishes.
The Versatility of Textured Soy
Textured soy, in its broader definition, includes both TSPC and other forms such as textured soy flour. This range offers a spectrum of textures and uses in vegan cooking, from ground meat substitutes to chunky pieces perfect for stews and stir-fries. The mild taste of textured soy products means they can take on any flavor profile, from savory to sweet, making them exceptionally versatile in recipes.
Incorporating Textured Soy Flour into Vegan Baking
Textured Soy Flour is another gem in the world of plant-based cooking. Rich in protein and low in carbohydrates, it's an excellent addition to vegan baking. It can be used to add protein to bread, muffins, and even pancakes, without altering the taste. Its fine texture also helps to bind ingredients together, making it a useful substitute for eggs in many recipes.
Nutritional Benefits
One of the most compelling reasons to include TSPC and textured soy products in your diet is their nutritional content. High in protein yet low in fat, these soy products are also rich in fiber and essential amino acids. They're an excellent source of iron and calcium, which are crucial for maintaining healthy bones and muscles, especially in a plant-based diet.
Cooking with Textured Soy Protein Concentrate
TSPC can be used in a myriad of ways. Here are some ideas to get you started:
Vegan Bolognese: Use TSPC as a ground beef substitute in your favorite pasta sauce. It absorbs the tomato sauce and herbs, creating a rich and satisfying dish

Did somebody wanted a precure persona au fanseries? No? WELL HERE IT IS!
True selves precure is my current fav fanseries I have made. To basically sum it up, it’s a precure au of the persona series that’s also a precure fanseries,
This fanseries uses the female party members of persona 3 (the persona 3 portable femc, who in this fanseries is called minako arisato/cure journey, fuuka yamagishi/cure guide, yukari takeba/cure breeze, mitsuru kirijo/cure elegant, aigis/cure shield and Metis/cure butterfly, aigis and Metis basically take on the role of the fairies, think kinda like laura from tropical rouge precure, also the two are able to take on pq-designed “figurine” forms to hide on earth, and later on, the two robots become a duo of precure, why’s Metis in this? A. not a lot of Metis content out there and B. atlus hates metis so I’m giving her love!) as precure, with the villains being the trio of strega, ryoji (who replaces chidori when she becomes good and quits Strega so she can be happy) and the final boss of p3 who I will not name because of spoilers, the monsters in this are called kagejo’s, who are formed from negative emotions and memories, also there’s minato, (yes I’m using the manga name, I think it’s sounds good, iryo if you like the movie name) philemon and various other persona characters as the side characters, The plot goes like this: Minako arisato always heard of superhero shows like featherman and never expected she’ll become one…until she meets two robot girls and finds out her science teacher has been turned into a monster, when trouble rises, she becomes cure journey! This is the only fanseries I actually done some writing for, due to my writing creativity basically going from high to low, I have only made one chapter, here, take a read:

Re: Instagram, I went to Tillery Street Plant Company for the first time since the opened their new greenhouse and website, and ended up behind a couple who kept stopping every few feet so that he could take photos of her. (They almost blocked me from getting in the damn greenhouse because she wanted to pose opening the doors?) What really got me was that as soon as they were done, they just up and left, no window shopping, not even a “that looks cool”. Performative plant interest? Who knows, but the whole time I was like, damn, you really live like this

#yeah I could watch The Bear#or I could watch TSPC foodpost
everyone keeps telling me to watch that show what the fuck happens on the bear
oh my god i figured it out
okay so it took an accident of me not checking on it, but I FINALLY figured out why I wasn't getting enough loft on my bread:
I was NOT giving enough time for yeast/bacteria production.
So if I do my other bread recipe's 4 hour levain development, then follow the pullman's recipe and do about an hour and a half initial rise (with stretch and folds) with a one hour final rest and rise, I get something like this:
Tumblr media
okay that rose in the oven but like. not a whole lot, yknow?
tried again, a little longer on the levain, but this time I tried to do the final rest/rise in the fridge overnight like when you have an overnight ferment on a classic sourdough
Tumblr media
oh that's a lot better! but the recipe is for a PULLMAN'S loaf, it should be square as possible, am I using enough ingredients?
NO I WAS. I JUST WASNT GIVING ALL THE TIMES ENOUGH TIME
Tumblr media
this time I let the levain (40-50g starter, 35g whole wheat flour, 35g AP flour, 70 mL water) develop for like six and a half hours in a proofer or a slightly warmed oven.
pour levain into a stand mixer if you've got one, bowl if you dont. Mix in sugar (35g) and warm water (400mL). Let that sit for the usual half hour in proofer.
add flour (600ish grams total, i often do about a third whole wheat to two thirds AP), 5g salt, 80-90g fat of choice (butter, margarine, etc). I put it in the stand mixer for around 10 minutes on low. (this is a REALLY old stand mixer so it CAN go real slow- do 7-8 min on lowest setting on a modern mixer, 15 min if you wanna do a hand knead)
cover and put in proofer. As usual I did 4 stretch and folds at half hour intervals, but on the final interval I forgot about the timer- it was left in the bowl for around a full hour after the last fold rather than the planned half hour.
by the time I checked on it, it rose WAY more than i was expecting it to. Decided to roll with it (lol), greased the pullman's pan (butter if no one's allergic, margarine otherwise), flattened, rolled up the dough, plopped it in and slid on the lid.
Did the final rest for two full hours in proofing temps, then baked at 350-60ish for a half hour with the lid slid on, 15 min with the lid off.
so, all in all: the ideal loaf of pullman's sourdough starts when you wake up and comes out around dark lunch.
not practical but hey! an interesting study to be sure
