😊 🎧Murder at the English Manor (A Miss Underhay Mystery #20) (Helena Dixon, author; Karen Cass, narrator) - Kitty & Matt get roped in to investigating the disappearance (murder) of a maid from a local estate (whose folks are trying to facilitate a 'Dollar Duchess' marriage and would prefer no unpleasantness)

😊 Fall Into You (Dylan Morrison) - very enjoyable contemp queer romance with a really great meet-ugly, explored a lot about how messy and contradictory and complex people are and also about how fucked up family dynamics are. -

Updates to the ‘25 -’26 Akatsuki Gift Exchange

Rather than upload large chunks of info right before applications, we’ll break down changes in smaller waves as we lead into the end of the year’s event season. This will also keep the blog in folks’ feeds to make sure that when Applications do come out, there should be a greater spread of access.

For March, some changes exist as follows….

• Changes towards “Stocking Stuffers // Winter Bonus Gifts”

After some suggestions and critiques from our annual AGE Follow-Up Form, we’re going to tweak the structure of Bonus Gifts and move it elsewhere in the calendar.

I’ve had a few suggestions, including but not limited to…

Valentine’s Day mini exchange (TBD; more info no later than mid-summer)

A Halloween/Fall themed event (announced in mid-summer & posting in earlier October)

Springtime mini event (Interest Check posted!)

Summertime themed mini event (announced in late-spring & posting in August-ish)

• Application Change: discreet timezone info

Given how real life–public, global, and personal–can take precedence, we’re trying to gather some info on which time zones folks reside in. I, as the Mod, am in Central Standard Time (CST)--this data may make for smoother check-ins and overall easier for myself to get in touch with participants. No need for anything more than the physical time zones. We have people all over the world and we want to better accommodate them.

• Application Change: optional Spotlight Banners for personal promotion

For reference click here! These allowed folks to promote their work outside of the AKatsuki Gift Exchange; participants choose which they share and are entirely optional. Instead of creating these after applications, there will be a segment in the application for folks to produce the encouraged info.

showing my ass as a non-arg cuck but learning that sam apparently had the Highest score in whatever spooky child experimentation bullshit the institute was running only makes sam’s search for answers MORE eye-aligned in my head. like what is more of an insult to an eye avatar than knowing the most and being the best and yet *still* not having all the answers ?

ok here's my hot magnus protocol theory: the gifted kids program was really a program meant to find a new archivist (which explains why gerry (eye-aligned) and sam (EYE-ALIGNED, SPEEDRUNNING GETTING HIS ASS CEASELESSLY WATCHED) were there) (and could also explain the artifact storage category of 'catalyst') and [error] is a failed archivist trapped beneath the archives until sam and alice unknowingly freed them.....

also sam still searching for answers for why he wasn't chosen even all these years later to the point where he has the voice of the ceaseless watcher's former special little boy egging him on tells me he may have been a better candidate for archivist than the institute realized. which. bad news for sam. great news for us, the viewers.
