James Connolly Collection

This cc set is dedicated to James Connolly.

James Connolly (1868-1916) was the working class hero of the 1916 Easter Uprising. The only member of the Provisional Government of Ireland with actual military experience, as Commandant General of the Dublin Brigade of the Army of the Irish Republic continued to issue commands from the GPO while seriously wounded. James Connolly also led the Irish Citizens Army which was formed to protect workers during the 1913 lock-out. Connolly was invited to join forces with the Irish Brotherhood for the Easter Rising and he was named one of the Vice-Presidents of the Provisional Government of Ireland.

James Connolly came from extreme poverty and spent his life passionately fighting for the rights of workers and the poor against capitalists. James Connolly was active in the Socialist movements in Ireland and the United States.

James Connolly was executed at Kilmainham Jail on 12 May 1916, tied to a chair because his wounds did not allow for him to stand in front of the firing squad.

I’ve now written 8 chapters of a book based on their story that’s been in my head for a year and a half now (wtf) and the whole thing outlined is 30+ chapters (also already at 30k words so this is the most devoted to writing I have ever been)

Also hoping to bust into the Sims 3 next week when my mom is out of town and can’t complain that it slows down her computer.

And I’m looking into options for how I can maybe get back to playing Sims 4 on my mac, I need to do some research on external hard drives but if I can solve my storage issues and maybe connect it to a different monitor I thinkkkkk I can get things up and running again.

I’ve been lurking in the shadows the past few months keeping tabs on legacies and new cc and it’s been KILLING ME not to be able to play the Hayes’ anymore, especially since I have a few unwritten posts in drafts and so many ideas for the rest of the 1940s and following generations.

Also I just remembered that part of why I had to step away from that save for a while was because I couldn’t put off Joe’s roll anymore so I sent him and all the other seabees off to eat and then after three or four in game days it still wasn’t bringing them back and my anxiety got too high and I had to quit without saving

(figured out later that for whatever reason the settings were messed up so it would be three in game days instead of the one it took for David’s roll for some reason????)

Really wish Sims can coexist with me doing other things on my computer but it quite literally can not run with more than one thing open at this point, even if it’s just chrome and safari or something like that.

But my mother can not stop me next week! I am going to sneakily reinstall all the packs while she’s at work tomorrow so Saturday when they leave I can jump right in!

Maybe I’ll share my Sims 3 current household when I get in there, I’m dying to pick up where I left off with a save I made a few years ago.

1. Can I recolour your CC?

Yes! Recolours and retextures are a-okay in my book, you don’t even have to ask first! Just please credit me and link to the original CC. My full TOU can be found here.

2. Is your CC free?

Yes! My stuff will ALWAY be free unless it is a commission. I sincerely doubt I will ever start a Patreon, although maybe one day I will have a Kofi donation page.

3. How do you start making a sim? What’s your process?

If it is a celebrity sim, or a sim of a fictional character like Arthur Morgan, I will always go CC shopping first! I usually start with the hair, then if the sim has particularly iconic outfits (e.g. Fran Fine) I will find as close as possible. Sometimes this is really easy, as with @plazasims RDR2 Outfits, but sometimes I have to be a little creative! Then, I always try to create the sim from Pinterest references first. I usually take a few hours away from it so I can see it again with fresh eyes, and it is usually at this point where I will introduce a photo overlay. Essentially, I will overlay an image onto The Sims 4 window and have my sim and the photo side by side. Laying the photo directly on top and ‘tracing’ is a BAD idea! You can’t see the real sim underneath! Usually looks WEIRD afterwards. If I’m feeling stuck, finding a reference on Pinterest at a 3/4 angle and editing my sim in that view helps a lot! It gives you a fresh perspective and often sorts out problems you didn’t even know you had.

4. What’s your main save?

My main save is (totally cliche, I know) actually my Simself in PlumbobKingdom’s save file! It’s INCREDIBLE, and makes the game so much more fun and interesting with the variety of locations, and everything just looks SO much nicer!

5. Who’s the favourite sim you’ve made so far?

I secretly LOVE my Maxwell Sheffield sim, I think he looks awesome. I love my Arthur Morgan Redux, too, and I’m really looking forward to making Bree Van De Kamp! Might develop it into a DH series if the response is positive enough :)

6. How do you edit your screenshots and/or do you render your sims in Blender?

I don’t render my sims in Blender, as I can’t use TS4 Sim Ripper! I am a Mac user. My photo editing process; taking screenshots in CAS using Trait poses, and photos in game using poses and @ravasheencc Full Control Camera. I then use Picsart on iOS to knock up the composition, Snapseed to clean up the photo (sharpen, colour balancing, glow, vignette etc) and Clipdrop Relight (online) for the lighting.

Sims 4: Squid Game Challenge

Squid Game is a popular TV Show on Netflix, so I decided to do a little challenge. 

Requirements (For Console Players):

- Cheats

- 8 Sims 

- No Kids or Toddlers

Requirements (For PC and Mac Players):

- MCCC Mod (To cheat death and set more players in a household)

- Extreme Violence Mod (Optional) 

- Squid Game Clothes CC 

- No Kids or Toddlers

- UI Cheats Extension (For cheating needs and money)

RULES:

1. You cannot control any sims but the staff. 

2. The way the sims are dying is due to Autonomous actions that you find annoying (E.G. Playing the computer when there is books, cooking automatically when not hungry, washing dishes in the sink when there is a dishwasher, etc the list goes on!) 

3. Sims that do the actions listed aboved, use MCCC command center to kill them in a similar way (Or cheat their deaths if on consles). Such as a sim who plays video games dies of electrocution. 

4. Set the money to 4,000,000. That’s the remaining sims fee. 

5. The rooms are as followed, the bed rooms, bathrooms and rooms with objects they can preform autonomy on. 

6. Lock the doors so the sims cannot leave, (or just delete the doors where the entrance is. 

7. Have fun!

Hello, lovely Simmers!

I’m Sandy and I’m running Around the Sims 4, a site with CC for Sims 4, mostly objects, though there’s also few pieces of clothing or make-up here and there! :)

Meet Sim-Sandy!

I’m also running Around the Sims 3… and Around the Sims 2, and Around the Sims… Because, yes, I’ve been creating custom content for the Sims forever. So long ago that some of you weren’t even born when I released my first set. Phew! I feel like a dinosaur! :D

The weirdest thing, I think, is that I was SO enthusiastic about creating stuff I could use in my game, that I actually started making stuff for Sims 1 even before I got the game (I was expecting the french Mac release, that occurred several months after the US Windows release. Oh yes, if you hadn’t guessed from my weird syntax, you would have from my accent, but you can’t hear it so..; I’m french!). Of course, none of my first CC was usable in game because I had no idea of what I was doing, but it says a lot about my addiction at creating CC! :D

Hadn’t I told you I’ve been making CC for VERY long time? 😂

I think I started a site then (before DSL and such, guys… A dinosaur, I’m telling you!) because I was spending so much time at creating stuff that sharing them was making me feel less guilty, like “OK, I’ve spent two weeks at working on this love bed (old Simmers will know… :D), BUT it’s not just for me, so it’s not lost time if other people can be happy with my stuff!“

I’m still amazed by the fact I can get an idea, mesh it and few hours (or days… or weeks, depending how silly the idea was!), I can play with it in my games.  I’m a player, even if I spend way more time at creating CC than playing, but somehow, creating CC is also a way of playing because I always make stuff with my game in mind. It’s how I end up with two “specialties” in my CC making, directly inspired by my way of playing: community lots and clutter.

I really enjoy playing with community lots because one of my favorite things in game is to gather lots of Sims on a place, and just observe them interacting together. So, these places can be bars or cafes, of course, but also shops, a laundromat, schools, a park… Whatever. And as I play with a lot of Sims (I don’t play legacies, but a whole town), I need a lot of various places to satisfy everyone. I like to imagine a favorite shop and a favorite place to go out for each of my Sims. Believe me, this makes my “community lots projects” list pretty long! :D

My second obsession is clutter. Decorating is a thing, but I love adding a bit of clutter that will tell a whole story. I tend to thing that the little thing that lies around your sofa, may it be a book, a remote control, a yogurt, a sock, a basket of yarn, whatever, says more about you that the sofa itself. I like to imagine all those little details about my Sims: what they eat for breakfast, what are their hobbies, what’s in their bag, or even what do they use to wash their clothes. A good and silly example of that if my timers set. *lol* I ended up by having a dizains of them just because I thought to all my Sims who would use a timer… and of course, everybody would have one’s favorite… :D

That’s what I love about the Sims: its diversity. You can create so many different characters, from ages, ethnicity, incomes, social classes… And I haven’t even still explored the supernatural aspect of the game, I’m still rather realist, that’s how you can find various detergents on my site but no  vampire’s skin product (though you know, now that I mention it, I like the idea… Well, you MIGHT find some vampire’s skin product at my site at some point… :p)

adopted at a very young age by an old farmer, anna has always lived a very quiet, subdued life. due to her father’s age, she found herself doing farm work since the day she joined his quaint house in the outskirts of del sol valley (near the edge of strangerville). the two grew close very quickly, and she found herself spending most of her time at home to help her dad, rather than socializing throughout her teen years. in her off time she found friends in books, and was rather content living her life out in the fields this way. it was only recently when her father’s health declined even more - he had been an elder for a while now - that he convinced anna to try finding a person outside of him: it was important to stay close with what family she had, but it was time for her to set the foundation of a family of her own.

fun facts  ̖́- - yes her dad 100% submitted her for this - only lets people close to her (aka dad) call her by her full name - her dad is a wheat farmer! and so is she - her favorite season is autumn!! loves her a good Squash - if she had 2 more traits they’d be: family oriented & gloomy - shy and stand-offish at first, complete mom when she warms up to you - it hurts her to be away from her dad, but they talk on the phone - its a shame she doesn’t know how to use her cell phone. like...at all - makes the best oatmeal cookies you’ve ever had - is awful at anything artsy- painting? more like pain-ting - verrrry strong accent, and god we stan - if she can wear a hat for an event she’s gonna wear a hat - cuts her own hair to save some money (a frugal legend) - if the sims 4 had horses she definitely would have a horse - her favorite bands are r.e.m., the taxpayers, & the handsome family - she was named after a fleetwood mac song so she loves them too - i was listening to my goth country playlist while making her - i almost made her have two parent figures but it’d be too much of an anne of green gables rip off and i can’t be that much of a stan
