new limbs, character is (basically) done!

Aside from maybe an eye rig and other misc details on the back, I think I am pretty much done with this character!
Initial rigging chicanery was scary but hey it worked out alright!
oc LORE: So, this "golem," automaton, whatever, is actually one among many others who tend to the garden and other facilities on the Heartbase. They (as I'm currently writing) don't have an assigned gender, but I'd like to hear ideas for names. "Charlie" is one I really like.

More fun in blender (maybe one day I'll get around to making models to put my small army of stylized Shaders on)
I've finally managed to make nice eevee shaders that can take in the lights colour, the base shaders are seen on the teapots where the moneys are me adding textures into the shadow system and a few other tricks to get the end look. no more having to remake a toonshader just because I want a wood texture or something

realizing the value of finalizing designs before making them into 3d models now that im looking at my model of mallard again with a clear idea of how i want her hair and face to look. im going to need to nuke this girl's shapekeys if i wanna fix her up and/or redo the model and idk which is a more harrowing prospect

Decided to run some shading tests in Blender for Eightenate's future character model. I started with Comfee Mug tutorials for anime shaders and stylized metallic objects. After following the tutorials, I added a rough recreation of Eightenate's texture.
Details below
Then, I wanted to know if I could edit the toon shading to be soft like my usual shading style. so instead of using Constant for the ColorRamp like in the usual Toonshader, I changed it to Linear.

Then I watched Ibrahim's video on adding textures to toon shaders.

Finally, I tried to shade a sphere as close as possible to Eightenate's concept. Unfortunately, I had to lighten the test texture with an HSV node to match Eightenate's base texture. I forgot to watch how I created the texture since I tend to over-blend while painting.

The sphere closest to view. Updated soft shading with highlight, highlight masking, and highlight texture.
Interesting experiment, and with lines generated from LBS, it completed the style I was going for. I still need to figure out how to get the highlight to work for me (I had trouble getting a good texture with noise lol).

[MMD Transformers] Auto-Alliance

"To serve and protect those who have suffered under false idols,"
The Auto-Alliance is a world-wide faction that is comprised of humans who support the Autobots and their allies. They are comprised of 2000 members, with an hierarchy comprised of Scouts being the lowest and a Ruling Council being the highest.
Working in secret, this faction has two goals: to purge the world of fakes and liars who pose as "heroes" and protecting the lives of Cybertronians who wish to live in peace on Earth. The Auto-Alliance's members are scattered throughout the world, communicating only through private chatrooms and forums on the Dark Web.
Through these chatroom and forums, they plan strategies such as anonymous tips about "heroes" such as Knight Owl and removing possible evidence of the Autobots' secret identities. They are responsible for recent events such as Majestia being forced to retire after incriminating evidence of her murdering a man named Desmond Carlton-Ritz surfaced. It was their interference that revealed the truth about Gabriel Agreste's "sacrifice" to the entire world.
Despite being allies of the Autobots, they will not hesitate to use their power to humble them in some if they feel they are becoming more like the fakes.

New textures and shaders updated, LET'S GOOO!
Explanation below!
Textures updated were Diffuse and Normals with the painted cracks, also a "normal" combiner node setup to combine overall baked procedural shadows with a baked Normal texture from sculpt, updated Glossy map with cracks masked and combined with it using Krita.
Arm texture is baked procedural texture on Diffuse, Glossy, and Normals (edited to rid of artifacts and an additional shadow map to create permanent shadows in certain areas.
All painted (non-procedural) textures were done with Ucupaint. New Toonshader Node setup was from How to Make a Toonshader series by Lightening Boy Studios!
Had to do a bunch of toonshader tutorials to see which one best fits with my illustration style and the most easiest to edit on the fly.
The Official LBS 2.1 shader would have been great to use, but it is sorely out of date since it was last updated for Blender 3.4. Their tutorial series, however, still works for 4.2 (and maybe onwards) since it used mostly easy to find nodes in Blender, but still lacks the layering system and other advanced stuff from the official LBS 2.1 shader. There is a new shader made by someone else that seems to mimic LBS layering system, L.S.M Layer Mask by Liquid State Anim on Gumroad! See tutorials on L.S.M here!
