Hi! Id like to request a matchup for jjk, bllk and aot. Im mexican and being connected to my culture is very important to me. I love reading dc comics and watching old slasher/horror movies. My favorite color is purple and my favorite holiday/time of year of Halloween. When it comes to relationships, the most important thing to me is being with someone that I know i can be myself with and that I dont have to worry about their loyalty towards me. Here are my donations and pls lmk if theres any other info you need !!!šš
šššš ššš ššššš: ššš šššššš
Ino is an interesting little guy. Heās cute, but to say he has game would be like saying that cats can fly (handsome loser :3). When he first met you, he had to do a little double take because hold on a minute. Whoās that pretty lady? He casually walks up to you and blurts out a āYouāre not from around here, are you?ā ft. nervous voice crack that he manages to play off somehow. The question definitely elicits a few mental eye rolls from you. Typical male-tries-to-hit-on-foreign-girl one-liner, but he makes it⦠work? Maybe itās the nervous flush on his cheeks, or the hand that sheepishly rubs at the back of his neck, or the bright smile he musters up to mask the nerves.Ā
I like to think that Ino is a very cosmopolitan person. Itās not really that heās traveled all around the world, but more so that he has varied likes and interests spanning many different cultures. He likes to listen to old-school hip-hop and reggaeton. Heās into Italian and Turkish dramas. He sleeps well at night knowing thereās an Indian restaurant and another Mexican one down the block that can curb his cravings for butter chicken and quesadillas.Ā
So, itās no surprise that heās quick to grab a throw pillow and get comfortable on the couch whenever you talk about your Mexican heritage. He doesnāt know much about Mexico apart from the fact that the food goes extremely hard, so heās always enthusiastic to learn more about the other aspects that characterize your country and its people.Ā
He also tries to learn some Spanish to āsurpriseā you but then itās literally just a āĀ”Buenos dĆas!ā enunciated really badly. Thereās a proud smile on his face every time he greets you good morning in your mother tongue though, and itās very endearing, to say the least.Ā
To add onto his culture vulture, cosmopolitan vibes, I think heās also really into movies. The type to just drop a niche movie reference every two seconds and frown deeply when no one gets it.Ā
Watching horror movies with him is interesting because for some reason he thinks that abruptly grabbing your shoulders mid-movie and growling menacingly would jump-scare you into oblivion, but youāre used to the genre so all it does is make you eye him narrowingly, unimpressed, ready to tell him off for interrupting a very crucial plot development.Ā
For whatever reason, Ino gives me major horror-enjoyer vibes. He likes analog horror and youāre lucky Halloween is your favorite time of year because itās his too! Watching The Prowler (i just really like this movie lol) under the blankets with warm, freshly-made popcorn and a pretty lady in his arms? Yeah, count him in.Ā
One last thing, sorry to be the one to say this, but Ino is definitely the ācan you draw meā person whenever he sees your sketchbook or art in general. Itās all in good nature, and he wouldnāt mind it if you say no, but if you do draw or paint him, letās just say that that drawing will be in his wallet for the rest of his life. Sometimes heād just randomly pull it out when someone brings you up and proudly hold it up to his company like āUhuh, my girl drew this. Yup.āĀ
šššš šššš ššššš: ššššššš ššššš
I think that, unlike Ino, Chigiri used to be less āout thereā in the world in his youth and kept more to himself in terms of being an experiencer of cultural diffusion; It was how he was brought up. But after going pro and meeting many people, traveling to many different places etc, heās been exposed to the world on a greater scale. Thatās how he finds himself meeting you one day at a party. He was charming. Need I say more tbh? That hair, that gentlemanliness, that whole aura surrounding him is hard to resist. He knew just how to sweet-talk but actually meant every word he said.Ā
Chigiri is one wealthy man, letās be honest. Pro footballer?Ā Mbappe in another font? Yeah. I think he genuinely enjoys spoiling and lavishing you with gifts if thatās your thing.Ā
He loves hearing you talk about your heritage and if you donāt live in Mexico, I feel like if you were to even remotely express that youāre kind of missing your country heād immediately be like, āThen letās book a 2 week stay and you can show me all those things you were telling me about.ā No biggie.Ā
Would also rent out the entirety of Playa Sisal in advance because you mentioned (once.Ā 1 [one] time. ) that you were looking forward to taking a dip come the vacation.Ā
I think that thereās this stigma surrounding footballers and how theyāre a bunch of players who sleep around but donāt commit. While that may have some merit, Chigiri is different. Like, have you seen him? Not to mention that he has a sister.Ā
I feel like he values loyalty and genuine companionship as much as you do, and should you ever feel yourself questioning where you stand within his life, or whether heās trustworthy, he would be so quick to reassure you and make you feel heard, basically quelling the doubts before they even surface. (Communicative king).Ā
On the note of communicative king, heās very good at praise and voicing his appreciation. The sort to genuinely encourage your creative hobbies and praise you for any work you create. He would literally not mind building a home art studio for you to promote your love for art and writing. Like, āOh, I saw you painting the other day and you didnāt look very comfortable at your desk. Thought Iād make you a little art corner,ā heād say as he sheepishly shows you the āart cornerā in question which looks more like a state of the art professional studio.Ā
I think Chigiri himself is a very artistic person beneath the surface. He just gives off that vibe quite a bit. Picnics where you guys sit at the park and paint the scenery together? So him.Ā
Would post your art on social media (if you consent ofc!) to his 5 million+ followers and bring you business if you ever decide to open commissions.Ā
In terms of entertainment, Chigiri is the type to be so clueless when it comes to media because he just doesnāt have the time. Like you were shocked when he told you he never watched Star Wars. Sir, what do you mean??Ā
It became your job to educate him on the vast world of entertainment, namely movies. He doesnāt really care what you pick as long as youāre happy. So when heās got some free time on his hands, heāll binge horror or DC/Marvel movies with you and even try to analyze the plot as itās happening (donāt kill him please heās just trying to show heās interested).Ā
Would buy you merch of your favorite movies and get giddy when you wear it/decorate your room with it etc.
Lastly, I think Chigiri would sulk in the corner if you insist he let you dye his hair purple since itās your favorite color, but he literally canāt say no to you, so eventually he yields reluctantly but shockingly, once all is said and done, he figures out he actually really like how purple looks on him.Ā
šššš ššš ššššš: šššš šššššššš
Iām gunna be honest. I think it just makes sense for Levi to like you because black cat x orange cat trope?? Him and Hange? Him and the Eren gang in general? Yeah.Ā
Going by your mbti, I imagine youāre not very extroverted, and I think thatās something that genuinely makes Levi let out a sigh of relief sometimes.Ā
*glance at each other* You: āwanna leave this party?ā Him: āYou read my mind.ā
If loyalty were a person, it would be this man. He shows it in the small things, Iād say: Leaving you short messages before he leaves for work every morning, bringing you things that remind him of you, etc. I feel like that would be his way of saying āIāve got eyes for you only/Iām always thinking about you and you aloneā.Ā
Levi is such a meanie on the surface and I find it kind of hilarious. Like, I think you guys would complete each other's snark and sarcasm and people would not know whether you two are joking or not meanwhile yall are just trying to bite back giggles.Ā
If Iām being honest, Levi doesnāt strike me as a very creative person. He seems more of a STEM sort of guy if we think of him in a modern au, so he doesnāt pay much mind to the arts as a field.Ā
Thatās not to say he isnāt supportive of your creative endeavors of course. You know when parents have no idea how a sport you play works but they still passionately cheer at your games regardless? Yeah, thatās Levi with your art, writing, etc. Itās all impressive to him even if you donāt think so and heāll make sure you know that.Ā
āI love this poem you wrote. You could be famous if you took this up professionally,ā heād say even if there was like a single sentence on the page.Ā
Would be the type to send you anything art or writing related he gets on his fyp like āyup, sheās definitely gonna love this/find it helpfulā.Ā
This might be an unpopular opinion, but I think Levi is actually a film buff. There, I said it. Something about him strikes me as movie lover. He would be the type to drop a quote from some obscure movie from the 50s with a straight face in the most serious tone ever which makes it even funnier.Ā
So, when you two have some free time, he loves to watch things with you while cuddling on the couch. heās the type to read the captions before the characters actually say them and it just spoils the scene for him, and then heād sulk as if itās your fault, but itās cute.Ā
When you two are watching horror movies, heās the type to tsk and mutter under his breath complaining about the costumes or about how if he were there he wouldāve totally killed that demon in like two seconds.

š«”š«”š«” i see your call for writing requests and im here, with a vague requestš¤£
As a fellow Stiles fan, I would love maybe headcanons about him that you have? Or if thereās anything else youād like to write about our favorite photographer, I would love it, Iām not pickyš¤£š¤£ (i promise in the future ill be more specific, or detailedā¦probably, actually i make no promisesšš¤£)
Thanks in advance!!!!ššš

cram you know me so well.
thankfully whenever i love a character, i overanalyze the shit out of them. which means..MANY HEADCANONS. most of these have been rotting in my notes app for years. Stiles comes to me as a dear friend i once picked apples with in papaās orchard. iāll definitely be writing drabbles about him but hereās some headcanons i have for now..š
ā
Andrew āDrewā Stiles Headcanons
from my notes app edition

look at him and his camera heās so silly
ā
likes yellow apples over red and green ones. it was a choice he made at a young age and stuck with
comic book ENTHUSIAST. tell me im wrong. you cant.
has boxes of undeveloped film back home of photos he took when he was younger that he refuses to get developed post-war. pre-war, it was just a chore he put off after coming across them in his storage, but post-war he doesnt want to be reminded of his life before everything happened. whenever he sees younger him, he can only think āMan, that guy has no idea whatās coming for him.ā
probably visits Turnerās kid(s) after the war. will show them photos of their dad being āsuper cool and badassā in his officerās uniform ordering men around
at the first reunion post-war, he brought brownies for everyone. idk why i think this but it feels right in my bones..
only eats bananas either while theyāre still green or after theyāve practically turned completely brown. no in between. it haunts Aiello at night.
oranges are his favorite fruit, though. again, it just feels right.
^ will always peel an orange for a friend. but he will be stealing some for himself.
ive said this in another post, but Drew holds the record for quickest dish-washing time. hes an absolute beast at washing dishes.
^ whenever he visits Longview, Daniels makes sure to put his little talent to work.
he DID get a job as a photographer for life magazine post-war. I SWEAR.
his favorite thing to photograph is probably any moment in time that tells a story. the virgin sun blooming over a field, giving it lifeā¦anything of the sort
trusts close to nobody with his camera. touch it, youāre getting swatted
suffers from lower back & knee pain post-war
eats a toasted everything bagel with honey every morning. very specific, but he loves it
dad joke machine. ask him to tell one, i beg.
^ supplied Red with HUNDREDS of dad jokes after he found out Hazel was expecting. now, whenever Stiles visits, little Joey Daniels will crack a few dad jokes at Drew and be absolutely FLABBERGASTED when Drew already knows the answers to them
has a cat named something dorky like āBilboā as a reference to The Hobbit
when he was ittybitty, he had considerably curly hair, but it changed as he grew up
has his name written in sharpie on the inside of his camera bag. never on the outside, he could never write directly on his precious camera bag
feels really guilty about Turnerās death. just knowing he was there the whole time and didnāt do anything even though he really couldnāt tears him apart late at night when heās up just thinking
has a photo wall in his room of his most memorable and favorite shots
^ one of them is one of the squad all together. the photo itself is shitty and sloppily taken since it was shot by a random soldier as the main six of them posed really just stood together, but he loves it regardless
travels as much as he can. tries to see as much as he can in his lifeāand obviously photographs it.
^ when he retires from photography in old age, he writes a book telling the story of each photo he took.
probably a terrible driver. me too its okay Drew
as a big fluffy blanket he sleeps with every damn night
WILL duct tape his glasses together if they break.
^ went through a predicament once when one of the lenses fully popped out of his glasses and he could only see out of one eye until he was able to wriggle it back in place without breaking anything
had his own secret spot in the library in college that was hidden from basically everything else for when he wanted to read in peace and quiet
this is also from one of my other posts but his cursive is questionable. not that his handwriting is bad per say, but he has his own version of a few letters in cursive that make people have to backtrack when reading what he writes down
likes wearing cardigans in the winter
can and will beat anybody at chess or just any board game in general. the only thing heās usually not swell at is card games
^ has lost to Zussman in card games way too many times. heās learned his lesson
likes soup. i dunno i feel like he likes soup.
^ definitely enjoys a good grilled cheese and tomato soup
throw on some Glenn Miller when heās feeling down and heās immediately feeling ten times better
has an old gramophone. he loves it
got bullied for his glasses in grade school but he never let it get to him
ā ā ā
OKAY I THINK THATS ITā¦for nowā¦ā¦
im sorry if these were kinda short these were all the headcanons in one of my notes in my notes app. ill have to dig to find the others and maybe make another post
ANYWAYS. i hope you enjoyed my headcanons about our favorite photographer..im curious to know what yall thinkš

This month, Andrew Bernier, a US Army Corps of Engineers researcher and a union leader, says that he has received a barrage of menacing messages from the same anonymous email account. Unfolding like short chapters in a dystopian novel, they have spoken of the genius of Elon Musk, referenced the power of the billionaireās so-called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), and foretold the downfall of ācorruptā union bosses.
But the most eerie thing about the emails, which Bernier says began arriving after he filed an official charge accusing the Trump administration of violating his unionās collective bargaining agreement, is that they included personal details about his lifeāsome of which he believes might have come from surveillance of his work laptop. The author referenced Bernierās union activities, nickname, job, travel details, and even the green notebook he regularly uses. The most recent email implied that his computer was loaded with spyware. āAndy's crusade, like so many before it, had been doomed from the start,ā one email stated. āThe real tragedy wasn't his failureāit was his belief that the fight had ever been real.ā
The unsettling messages, which were reviewed by WIRED, are an extreme example of the kinds of encounters that workers across the US government say they have had with technology since President Donald Trump took office. WIRED spoke to current employees at 13 federal agencies for this story who expressed fears about potentially being monitored by software programs, some of which they described as unfamiliar. Others said that routine software updates and notifications, perhaps once readily glossed over, have taken on ominous new meanings. Several reported feeling anxious and hyperaware of the devices and technology around them.
At the General Services Administration (GSA), one worker cited a Chrome browser extension called Dynatrace, an existing program for monitoring app performance. Inside the Social Security Administration (SSA), another employee pointed to Splunk, a longstanding tool thatās used to alert IT staff to security anomalies like when an unauthorized USB drive is plugged into a laptop. At the US Agency for International Development (USAID), one worker was caught off guard by Googleās Gemini AI chatbot, installations of which kicked off days before Trump took office.
āEveryone has been talking about whether our laptops are now able to listen to our conversations and track what we do,ā says a current GSA employee, who like other workers in this story, was granted anonymity because they didnāt have authorization to speak and feared retaliation.
Dynatrace and Splunk did not respond to requests for comment from WIRED.
The workersā accounts come as Muskās DOGE organization is rapidly burrowing into various government agencies and departments, often gaining access to personnel records, logs of financial transactions, and other sensitive information in the process. The efforts are part of the Trump administrationās broader plan to terminate thousands of government employees and remake the face of federal agencies.
Like many private companies, US federal agencies disclose to staff that they have tools to monitor what workers do on their computers and networks. The US governmentās capabilities in this area have also expanded over the past decade.
It couldnāt be learned whether the Trump administration has begun using existing tools to monitor employees in new ways; multiple agencies, including the Social Security Administration and the General Services Administration, denied that they have. The White House did not respond to requests for comment. Public evidence has not emerged of new government purchases of user-monitoring software, which is generally needed for detailed surveillance such as tracking which files a worker has copied onto a thumb drive. Some of the updates and changes that have been noticed by federal workers date back to software purchases and plans enacted long before Trump was in power, WIRED reporting shows.
āI will say my concerns are primarily based in general fear as opposed to specific knowledge,ā says a worker at the Department of Homeland Security, who adds: āIād love to be told Iām wrong.ā
But activity that some workers perceive as signs of increased surveillance has prompted them to take precautions. Bernier, who works as a civil engineer for the Army Corps based in Hanover, New Hampshire, says the messages he received spooked him enough that he asked local police to keep an eye on his home, removed the battery from his work-issued laptop, and kept his work phone on airplane mode while traveling to a non-work conference last week. āThere are things I donāt control but actions I can take to protect myself and my family,ā he says.
Bernierās anonymous emailer and the Army Corps did not respond to requests for comment.
A person inside the Environmental Protection Agency told WIRED last week that theyāve witnessed coworkers back out of Microsoft Teams meetings, which can be easily recorded and automatically transcribed, when they are related to topics they believe could get them fired. āDefinite chilling effect,ā the person says. The EPA did not respond to a request for comment.
An employee at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), whose work with international partners is being audited by DOGE operatives, says they and their colleagues began avoiding messaging one another and have āreally cut down on putting things in writingā in recent weeks. They report that correspondence from their supervisors has also significantly dropped off. NOAA declined to comment.
At the Federal Bureau of Investigation, anxiety around officials possibly targeting officers and activities perceived as being disloyal to the president has cratered morale, a federal law enforcement source with knowledge of the agents' concerns tells WIRED. The FBI declined to comment.
Aryani Ong, a civil rights activist and cofounder of Asian American Federal Employees for Nondiscrimination, a group that advocates for government workers, says those sheās been in contact with are in a heightened state of alert. In response, some federal employees have turned to encrypted communications apps to connect with colleagues and taken steps to anonymize their social media accounts, Ong says. (Federal workers are granted an allowance to use non-official communication tools only āin exceptional circumstances.ā)
Insider Threat
Long before Trumpās inauguration, user activity monitoring was already mandated for federal agencies and networks that handle classified informationāthe result of an executive order signed by then-president Barack Obama in the wake of a massive breach of classified diplomatic cables and information about the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan in 2010. The capability is part of government-wide insider threat (InTh) programs that greatly expanded after Edward Snowdenās leak of classified surveillance documents in 2013, and again after an Army specialist murdered four colleagues and injured 16 others at Fort Hood in 2014.
The US governmentās current approach to digitally monitoring federal workers has largely been guided by a directive issued by the Committee on National Security Systems in 2014, which orders relevant agencies to tie user activity to āspecific users.ā The public portions of the document call for āevery executive branch department and agencyā handling classified information to have capabilities to take screenshots, capture keystrokes, and intercept chats and email on employee devices. They are also instructed to deploy āfile shadowing,ā meaning secretly producing facsimiles of every file a user edits or opens.
The insider threat programs at departments such as Health and Human Services, Transportation, and Veterans Affairs, also have policies that protect unclassified government information, which enable them to monitor employeesā clicks and communications, according to notices in the Federal Register, an official source of rulemaking documents. Policies for the Department of the Interior, the Internal Revenue Service, and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporate (FDIC), also allow collecting and assessing employeesā social media content.
These internal agency programs, overseen by a national task force led by the attorney general and director of national intelligence, aim to identify behaviors that may indicate the heightened risk of not only leaks and workplace violence, but also the ālossā or "degradation" of a federal agencyās āresources or capabilities.ā Over 60 percent of insider threat incidents in the federal sector involve fraud, such as stealing money or taking someone's personal information, and are non-espionage related, according to analysis by Carnegie Mellon researchers.
āFraud,ā ādisgruntlement,ā āideological challenges,ā āmoral outrage,ā or discussion of moral concerns deemed āunrelated to work dutiesā are some of the possible signs that a worker poses a threat, according to US government training literature.
Of the 15 Cabinet-level departments such as energy, labor, and veterans affairs, at least nine had contracts as of late last year with suppliers such as Everfox and Dtex Systems that allowed for digitally monitoring of a portion of employees, according to public spending data. Everfox declined to comment.
Dtexās Intercept software, which is used by multiple federal agencies, is one example of a newer class of programs that generate individual risk scores by analyzing anonymized metadata, such as which URLs workers are visiting and which files theyāre opening and printing out on their work devices, according to the company. When an agency wants to identify and further investigate someone with a high score, two people have to sign off in some versions of its tool, according to the company. Dtexās software doesnāt have to log keystrokes or scan the content of emails, calls, chats, or social media posts.
But that isn't how things work broadly across the government, where employees are warned explicitly in a recurring message when they boot up their devices that they have "no reasonable expectation of privacy" in their communications or in any data stored or transmitted through government networks. The question remains if and to what extent DOGEās operatives are relying on existing monitoring programs to carry out Trumpās mission to rapidly eliminate federal workers that his administration views as unaligned with the presidentās agenda or disloyal.
Rajan Koo, the chief technology officer of Dtex tells WIRED that he hopes the Trump administration will adjust the governmentās approach to monitoring. Events such as widespread layoffs coupled with a reliance on what Koo described as intrusive surveillance tools can stir up an environment in which workers feel disgruntled, he says. āYou can create a culture of reciprocal loyalty,ā says Koo, or āthe perfect breeding ground for insider threats.ā
Already Overwhelmed
Sources with knowledge of the US governmentās insider threat programs describe them as largely inefficient and labor intensive, requiring overstretched teams of analysts to manually pore through daily barrages of alerts that include many false positives. Multiple sources said that the systems are currently āoverwhelmed.ā Any effort by the Trump administration to extend the reach of such tools or widen their parametersāto more closely surveil for perceived signs of insubordination or disloyalty to partisan fealties, for instanceālikely would result in a significant spike in false positives that would take considerable time to comb through, according to the people familiar with the work.
In an email last month seeking federal employeesā voluntary resignations, the Trump administration wrote that it wanted a āreliable, loyal, trustworthyā workforce. Attempts to use insider threat programs to enforce that vision could be met by a number of legal challenges.
US intelligence community analysts are required by law and directive to provide unbiased and objective work. That means avoiding cherry-picking information to deliberately alter judgements or falling prey to outside pressure, including from personal or political biases. These standards, even when not officially codified, are core to the professional ethics of any intelligence practitioner or law enforcement analyst conducting assessments of insider threats.
A 2018 national insider threat task force framework notes that federal programs should comply with āall applicable legal, privacy and civil liberties rights, and whistleblower protections.ā Bradley Moss, an attorney representing US intelligence and law enforcement personnel, says that "disloyalty" to the Trump administration is ātoo vague an excuse to terminate employees with civil service protections, adding that if "they're going to go through the statutory process, they need to demonstrate actual cause for termination."
A federal law enforcement source warns that monitoring could theoretically be used to gather political intelligence on federal employees, while the administration looks for more palatable reasons to terminate them later; similar to how law enforcement may obtain evidence that's inadmissible in the course of a criminal investigation, but then search for another evidentiary basis to file charges.
Joe Spielberger, senior legal counsel at the Project On Government Oversight, a nonpartisan group fighting alleged corruption, says that if Musk were serious about cutting government waste, he would be strengthening protections for people who report corruption and mismanagement. Any warrantless or mass surveillance of federal workers without transparent guidelines, he says, would represent a major concern.
āWhen you create this culture of fear and intimidation and have that chilling effect of making people even more fearful about calling out wrongdoing, it ensures that corruption goes unnoticed and unaddressed,ā Spielberger says.

New APIs For Amazon Location Service Routes, Places & Maps

Introducing new Routes, Places, and Maps APIs forĀ Amazon Location Service
The Routes, Places, and Maps features are expanded and improved by the 17 new and improved APIs that Amazon Location Service announced today, giving developers a more unified and efficient experience. These improvements increase the accessibility and utility ofĀ Amazon Location ServiceĀ for a variety of applications by bringing new capabilities and providing a smooth migration process.
Advanced route optimization, GPS tracing, toll cost calculations, a range of map styles with static and dynamic rendering options, proximity-based search, predictive recommendations, and rich, detailed information on points of interest are all now available.
At Amazon, user feedback informs the great majority of its roadmaps. When working with location-based data, several customers developing applications withĀ Amazon Location ServiceĀ have expressed that they require more specific information, like contact details and business hours, as well as specially designed APIs. Developers have indicated a desire for further features, like comprehensive route planning, proximity-based searches, more place details, and static map graphics, even if the present API set has given many users useful tools. These needs are met by these new APIs, which offer a more thorough and unconventional location solution.
Improved and new capabilities
In direct response to your feedback, todayās launch provides seven completely new APIs and ten revised APIs. Specific improvements are made to each service Maps, Places, and Routes to accommodate a wider variety of use cases.
Routes
Advanced route planning and modification features are now available through the Amazon Location Routes API, enabling customers to:
Determine service regions within a certain travel time or distance by calculating isolines.
OptimizeWaypoints helps save trip time or distance by identifying the most effective waypoint sequence.
To offer accurate cost estimates for routes involving toll roads, compute toll costs.
SnapToRoads allows GPS traces to be precisely matched by snapping sites to the road network.
You may create more dynamic and accurate route experiences for your consumers with these features. For instance, a logistics firm may minimize delivery travel expenses by optimizing driver routes in real-time while accounting for real-time traffic.
Maps
More specially designed map types created by talented cartographers are now available in the revised Amazon Location Maps API. These map styles provide expert designs that remove the need for custom map construction and speed up time to market. Furthermore, developers can incorporate static maps into applications using the Static Map Image feature, which eliminates the requirement for constant data streaming and boosts performance in use scenarios when interactivity is not required.
Among the Maps APIās primary features are:
GetStyleDescriptor, which returns details about the style; GetTile, which downloads a tile from a tileset with a given X, Y, and Z axis values
GetStaticMap allows non-interactive maps to be rendered for reporting or display.
Places
In response to requests for more granularity in location data,Ā the AmazonĀ Location Places API has been improved to enable more thorough search capabilities. Among the new capabilities are:
For improved user experiences, SearchNearby and Autocomplete allow predictive text features and support proximity-based queries.
Improved company information including sections for contact details, business hours, and extra features for sites of interest
Applications like food delivery services or shop apps, where customers require comprehensive information about nearby locations, will particularly benefit from these functionalities. Consider a scenario in which a consumer launches a food delivery app, uses SearchNearby to find restaurants in their area, and downloads restaurant information, including contact details and business hours, to verify availability. The application utilizes OptimizeWaypoints to recommend the most effective route for pickups and deliveries after a driver has been assigned several delivery orders. SnaptoRoads improves the customerās real-time tracking experience by providing a detailed depiction of the driverās location as they follow the route.
The operation of enhanced location service
It is simple to call the API. You have three options: the basic REST API, one of AWS SDKs, orĀ the AWSĀ Command Line Interface (AWS CLI). However, some further preparation is needed to display the data on a map in a web or mobile application. Despite having extensive documentation, the method is too intricate to go into detail here.
There are two methods for authenticating API requests withĀ Amazon Location Service: using API keys or AWS API authentication (AWS Sigv4 authentication). For developers of mobile applications, API keys may be more practical in situations where end users are not verified or when integrating with Amazon Cognito is not practical. For front-end apps, this is the suggested authentication technique.
You utilize a combination of the AWS CLI, cURL, and a graphicalĀ REST APIĀ client to show the flexibility of the APIs and how simple it is to integrate them inside your apps.
Beginning
Amazon Location Service provides a more complete range of mapping and location data for your business needs with these updated and new APIs. These will improve the scalability and agility of developers, which will help you speed up your development lifecycle.
Explore the most recent version of theĀ Amazon Location ServiceĀ Developer Guide to get started, then start incorporating these features right now. You can also test the APIs using your preferred AWS SDKs to see how they can improve your apps.
Amazon location service pricing
Learn about the reasonable prices for maps, locations, routing, tracking, and geofencing offered by Amazon Location Service. Pay only for what you use; there are no up-front fees.
Pricing
You pay for the queries your application makes to the service listed in the table below after using theĀ Amazon Location ServiceĀ for free.
Volume discounts are available for customers with a monthly usage exceeding $5,000.
Price may vary based on request parameters, please refer toĀ theĀ PricingĀ section in the developer guide.

The tools also generate AI-written suggested responses to posts online, allowing users to flood the comments of pro-Palestinian posts with pro-Israel messaging.
Experts who study communication online say the widespread use of such tools influences the online discussion of the war and is ushering in a new era of citizen-led propaganda campaigns. But the use of the tools does not appear to violate platform rules against whatās known as ācoordinated inauthentic behavior,ā or posts that appear to come from unrelated individuals but are really the result of an organized effort, often through automated accounts.
āWorking in an orchestrated fashion can be violative, but it quickly becomes a gray area, and thatās why these apps exist,ā said Nora Benavidez, senior counsel and director of digital justice and civil rights at Free Press, a nonpartisan organization that lists its goals as protecting free expression and civil liberties.
Researchers say it is difficult to determine which comments have been generated by such tools because thereās no way to publicly track a userās private activity across multiple apps. Social media companies would have to come up with ways to detect their use, which is challenging because the apps operate on their own platforms, not those of the social media companies. If the apps were automatically posting, they would likely violate rules against inauthentic activity. But third-party apps that simply encourage legitimate users to report posts escape that sanction.
Thereās also no way to know with precision that actions taken against someoneās account or posts are in response to activity from these apps. Anecdotally, some users report that after their Instagram and TikTok posts were mentioned on the apps, the posts were either removed or heavily downranked, making them less accessible to a large audience.
Meta, which owns Instagram and Facebook, did not respond to a request for comment. TikTok also did not respond to requests for comment.
āIāve had many posts taken down, Iād say upwards of 15 to 20 posts removed,ā said Nys, a content creator who posts on TikTok under the handle @palestinianpr1ncess and spoke on the condition that she be referred to by first name only because sheās worried about repercussions when traveling to the West Bank. Nys said that each of her posts that has been surfaced on one of the apps has received a flood of pro-Israel, seemingly AI-generated comments. The post is also usually removed after many users report it for bullying or hate speech. āIām not using hate speech,ā Nys said. āIām just doing commentary on everything happening in Palestine.ā
Laura Chung, a content creator and podcaster, said that she believes a mass reporting campaign facilitated by one of the apps is what led to her TikTok account being removed in December. āI was creating pro-Palestine content for education purposes and I was going massively viral,ā she said. āI believe itās these apps that got me banned on TikTok.ā
Joan Donovan, a noted disinformation expert who is an assistant professor of journalism at Boston University, said the apps are a new development in the propaganda battle being waged on the internet over Israelās offensive in Gaza and that social media companies need to find ways to monitor their use.
āSocial media is a terrain of warfare, not just for cyber troops, but also for citizen battalions armed with AI-enhanced bots and the ability to generate endless unique posts that evade current content moderation tools,ā she said. āIt is incumbent on tech companies to defend against such abuses.ā
āThis level of organization only exists on one side of the conflict,ā said Emerson T. Brooking, a former cyber policy adviser to the Defense Department who studies disinformation and propaganda campaigns as a resident senior fellow at the Atlantic Councilās Digital Forensic Research Lab. āIt exists for pro-Israel voices, and it exists because there are government ministries in Israel that support these tools and encourage their use.ā
Brooking and other experts said they arenāt aware of any similar tools for Palestinian supporters.

SAINT OF THE DAY (April 2)

Catholics will remember St. Francis of Paola on April 2.
The saint founded a religious order at a young age and sought to revive the practices of the earliest monks during a period of corruption in the Church.
Francis was born in the Southern Italian region of Calabria on 27 March 1416. His parents, who maintained a strong devotion to St. Francis of Assisi, named their son after him.
The boy's father and mother had little in the way of wealth, but they passed on a rich spiritual heritage to their son, with the hope that he would imitate his namesake.
The young Francis showed signs of a remarkable spiritual life, following his parents' lead in accepting poverty as a path to holiness.
When his father placed him in the care of a group of Franciscan friars to be educated at the age of 13, Francis made a personal decision to live strictly according to the rule of their religious order.
After a year with the friars, Francis rejoined his parents as they made a pilgrimage to Assisi in Rome and the historic Franciscan church known as the Portiuncula.
When the family returned to their hometown of Paola, Francis ā at the age of only 15 ā asked his parents' permission to live as a hermit, in the manner of the earliest desert fathers such as St. Anthony of Egypt.
The young monk slept in a cave and ate what he could gather in the wild, along with occasional offerings of food from his friends in the town.
Within four years, two companions had joined him. The townspeople assisted in building three individual cells for the hermits, as well as a chapel where a priest would offer Mass.
With approval from the local archbishop, this small group continued to grow into a larger religious order, without compromising the young founder's insistence on penitential and primitive living conditions.
They were first known as the Hermits of St. Francis of Assisi but later renamed the āMinimiā (or āMinimsā), meaning āthe least,ā and signifying their commitment to humility.
Francis and his monks were notable not only for their austere lifestyle but also for their strict diet, which not only eliminated meat and fish, but also excluded eggs, dairy products, and other foods derived from animals.
Abstinence from meat and other animal products became a āfourth vowā of his religious order, along with the traditional vows of poverty, chastity and obedience.
Francis instituted the continual, year-round observance of this diet in an effort to revive the tradition of fasting during Lent, which many Roman Catholics had ceased to practice by the 15th century.
Ironically, Francis' pursuit of solitary communion with God attracted attention from a range of important figures, including several European kings and other nobility along with Popes and bishops.
Some of these men regarded Francis as a spiritual leader in a corrupt age, while others may have been more interested in his gifts of prophecy and miraculous healing.
Francis traveled to France at the request of Pope Sixtus IV, taking with him his nephew Nicholas, whom he had raised from the dead.
There, the notoriously power-hungry King Louis XI was approaching the point of death himself.
He hoped that Francis would perform a miracle and restore his health.
Francis told the king bluntly that he should not fear the end of his earthly life, but the loss of eternal life.
From that time, the hermit became a close spiritual adviser to the king.
He discussed the reality of death and eternity with him, and urged him to surrender his heart and soul to God before it was too late.
The king died in Francis' arms in 1483.
Louis XI's son and successor, Charles VIII, maintained the monk as a close adviser, in spiritual and even political affairs.
Nonetheless, Francis persisted in following the monastic rule he had developed while living in his hermitage outside of Paola.
He continued as superior general of the Minim Order and founded new monasteries in France.
Francis sensed that his death was approaching at the age of 91 and returned to living in complete solitude for three months to prepare himself.
When he emerged, he gathered a group of the Minim brothers and gave them final instructions for the future of the order.
He received Holy Communion for the last time and died on April 2, Good Friday of 1507.
He was beatified on 1 November 1518. Pope Leo X canonized him on 1 May 1519.
Although the Minim Order lost many of its monasteries in the 18th century during the French Revolution, it continues to exist, primarily in Italy.
Francis is said to have raised the dead; healed the sick and crippled; averted plagues; expelled demons; spoken prophetically to bishops, popes, and kings; and performed many other miracles.
He is the patron saint of Calabria, seafarers, boatmen, mariners, and naval officers.

Ellen: it's been an awfully big adventure
December 7th, 2012
I donāt know how to start this, other then diving right in soā¦.Iāll dive.
It is with a sad face I have to report that I am leaving Los Campesinos!. The show on the 15thĀ of December in London will be my last, and I shall spend it struggling not to cry. Please donāt point out my tears if you come along. Simply pretend it is eye sweat.
Over the last seven years I have been blessed, not by God, because he doesnāt exist, but with opportunities and a life I will not fully appreciate until I am about forty-five. I will look back at old photos of the band, with our smooth skin and questionable hair, and go āfuck me. That was mental.ā
The past and present members of Los Campesinos! have been my family for the last seven years and seen me at my lowest, my highest, my most angry, sad, happy, broken, fixed, grown up and immature. They have seen me fail, succeed, let myself and them down, learn the hard way, but they have also seen me grow. And they have always had my back, and I hope, I sincerely hope, I have done my best to have theirs.
There is not a terribly exciting reason for me leaving, (so please start some exciting rumours), I am just going to try something new. FulfilĀ my ambitions of becoming a failed writer and developing a opium habit. Itās all going to be very retro. I leave with the upmost love and support from the band, but I have requested my replacement not be too cool.
I would say I am sad to go, but that is too simple a word for the variety of emotions I have swimming around my head right now. I am sad, but mostly I am drowning in warm and happy flashbacks, vinaigretteĀ images of us all laughing in the van on long drives across America. Joe Puleo, tour manager, at the front telling a story, Jason playing quizmaster and hosting a game of āGuess the Song,ā from an app he has downloaded, and we all scream out responses. Rob taking photos of the scenery on his lomo, Neil watching gangster epics on his laptop, and maybe later on this long long drive Paul and Tom will play Tiger Woods Golf whilst I work out how long I can hold my bladder for before requesting we stop. I was the most frequenter pee needer on long drives. I am not ashamed of this. I owned it.
I felt warm and safe on those drives, listening to everyone tell stories, share experiences, make each other laugh. I am lucky to have shared a hotel room with so many exceptional ladies over the years, Aleks, Harriet and especially Kim, who shared my fear of the cold, love of porridge and put up with my ability to make a mess in any room in under 5 seconds. Starting and ending the day together, we did some good chatting.
I have seen a lot of this world, and I didnāt have to go on a gap year to do it. I have travelled across the breadth and depth of the US and the UK and I have seen a lot of different faces, and sampled a lot of backstage humus.I have seen a lot of graffitied backstage cocks.
I have met and worked with countless wonderful, interesting and horrifically talented people inside the industry, inside the venues, inside the recording studie and inside our practice space. (I wonāt gush too much about how talented the people in the band are, you might get diabetes from myĀ sincerity, but it has been a pleasure and aĀ privilegeĀ to play the music that Tom writes.)
Also fans. Fans are awesome. You made it possible for us record an album in Seattle. To play a show outside of Wales. To play in a baseball stadium in Japan. A haunted restaurant in Santa Cruz. a handful of US universities and see Mexico! I saw Mexico! You girls and guys are truly humbling, and I hope I never took you for granted too much. I probably did. Thank you for knowing the words, for bringing cakes, and books, and t-shirts, and comics, and buying us drinks and for waiting and driving miles and cheering and clapping. For reading or watching or listening to anything we have ever done. Thanks. You kept us going and will continue to be the life blood of the Los Campesinos! family.
I was trawling through old photos trying to find the best one to represent a start and an ending, but I got lost in old memories and the process ofĀ ageing.
(God we looked young, look at our skin! Look at our clothes! Cardigans and ripped up Distillers t shirts, oh I still have that.)
I have eons of photos of the band at the start, at rehearsals, house parties, with experimental hair, (mine black, Gareth long and wispy, Neilās fringe nearly covering his eyes and Tom always wearing his hat) and at our first shows. I remember when we first started, our summer of label romance where everyone wanted to take us out for a pub meal, and all we ever did was go out in Cardiff drinking and dancing. We said we would change our last names to Campesinos! if we ever played in the states, but we tempted fate, and we never changed out names but we did get to go to America a lot.
I sometimes wonder what alternative universe me would be doing if she didnāt go to that first rehearsal in Ollieās bedroom. I think she is picking her nose right now in a bath of baked beans, bored and crazy because she spent all day in an office sitting next to a woman who told her about the time she slept with a navy seal. No one cares Brenda.
So 500 plus gigs, millions of air miles, gallons of backstage whisky and wine, a tonne of sweaty cheese and pita bread, a litre of tears shed on stage, hundreds of ādonāt fuck up,ā panics, hundreds of fuck ups, hundreds of āthis is blowing my mindā moments whilst starring into a sea of unfamiliar andĀ impassionedĀ faces, break ups and ill advised hook ups later (donāt date musicians, like ever, weāre all mental,) I realise I have seen all the travel lodges, service stations, and states of America (apart from Alaska) and I have tasted more Marks and Spencerās meals then I thought possible. Iāve been with some of the finest people I know doing a very unnatural thing, which is both the best and the worst experience and often at the same time, but never the same any given year. And we have done it fucking well. The best we can.
God Iām being dramatic, but I canāt help it, I was a middle child.
So some more self-indulgence.
I want to thank some people for being ace. John Goodmanson ā a brilliant producer and a lesson in style and grace under pressure. Joe Puleo ā the best tour manager, you never feel anything but safe in his company. Kelly Pickard ā inspiration, mentor, wisest woman. Paul Rattcliff- The loyalist soundman whom gives so much. Kev and Alun and Mark Bowen, Wichita, Ben and Vicky, Gareth Dobson, anyone we have toured with or supported or who I have met along the way, everyone I forgot. I havenāt forgot, I am thinking about you.
My mum, because she told me I could be anything and do anything except get my tongue pierced. And I did that anyway, and she still wasnāt mad at me.
And the band.. Kim, Jason, Gareth, Tom, Neil and Rob who I will miss sharing experiences with that no one will understand, I love you guys. Like, loads. From our first Sweet Dreams, until our last, thanks.
Okay, too long, too emo. Bye bye.
Ellen x

Serverless Architecture in 2025: Building Scalable Apps Without Managing Servers
Imagine wanting to build a fantastic new mobile app or a super-fast website. In the past, you'd have to think about servers: "How many do I need? What size? Who will maintain them? What if a million people suddenly use my app?" This often meant buying or renting expensive server space, even when your app wasn't busy, like paying for a whole stadium when only a few people show up for practice.
But what if you could just write your code, upload it, and have it run only when someone uses your app, paying only for that exact moment? That's the magic of Serverless Architecture.
Despite the name, "serverless" doesn't mean there are no servers. It simply means you, the developer or business owner, no longer have to worry about managing them. The cloud provider (like Amazon, Google, or Microsoft) handles all the servers, scaling, and maintenance for you. You just focus on your code.
By mid-2025, serverless has become a game-changer, essential for building apps that can handle huge demands without breaking the bank or your team's sanity.
The Old Way vs. The Serverless Way: A Simple Analogy
Let's use a car analogy:
The Old Way (Traditional Servers / Virtual Machines): This is like owning your own car. You pay for the car itself, gas, insurance, parking, maintenance, and repairs, whether you drive it every day or it just sits in your garage. You're responsible for everything.
The Serverless Way: This is like taking a taxi or using a ride-sharing service. You don't own the car, you don't worry about gas, parking, or maintenance. You simply pay for the ride, only when you use it, for the exact distance traveled.
With serverless, your code runs only when triggered by an event (like a user clicking a button or a new photo being uploaded). When the code finishes, it shuts down, and you pay nothing for idle time.
Key Benefits of Going Serverless in 2025
Serverless architecture offers compelling advantages that are driving its widespread adoption:
Unmatched Scalability: This is one of the biggest wins. If your app suddenly goes viral and millions of users flood in, serverless automatically scales up to handle the demand instantly. You don't need to manually add more servers or worry about your app crashing. And when demand drops, it scales back down just as easily.
Significant Cost Savings (Pay-as-You-Go): Because you only pay for the exact compute time your code is running (often measured in milliseconds!), you can save a lot of money, especially for apps with fluctuating usage. No more paying for expensive servers sitting idle overnight or on weekends.
Zero Server Management: This is a huge relief for development teams. No more patching servers, updating operating systems, managing network configurations, or worrying about server downtime. Developers can focus 100% on writing features and solving business problems, not on infrastructure headaches.
Faster Development & Deployment: Serverless encourages building applications as small, independent functions. This makes code easier to develop, test, and deploy quickly. You can push updates for small parts of your app without affecting the whole system.
High Availability Built-In: Cloud providers design their serverless platforms for extreme reliability. Your code automatically runs across multiple data centers, ensuring your app stays online even if one location has issues.
Common Use Cases for Serverless in 2025
Serverless is incredibly versatile and is being used for a wide range of applications:
Web and Mobile Backends: Powering the "brains" behind websites and mobile apps, handling user logins, data storage, and API requests.
Data Processing: Automatically processing new images (e.g., resizing photos when uploaded), videos, or data streams in real-time.
Chatbots and AI Services: Running the logic for intelligent chatbots that respond instantly to user queries.
IoT (Internet of Things) Backends: Handling data coming in from millions of smart devices, like sensors in a smart city or smart home gadgets.
Automated Tasks: Running scheduled jobs (e.g., daily reports) or reacting to specific events (e.g., sending an email confirmation after a purchase).
Is Serverless Perfect? A Quick Look at Challenges
While powerful, serverless isn't without its considerations:
Vendor Lock-in: Once you build heavily on one cloud provider's serverless platform (like AWS Lambda or Google Cloud Functions), it can be harder to switch to another.
"Cold Starts": If a function hasn't been used in a while, it might take a tiny bit longer (a few milliseconds to seconds) to "wake up" the first time it's called.
Debugging Complexity: Troubleshooting issues across many small, interconnected functions can sometimes be more complex than with a traditional single application.
The Future is Already Here
Serverless architecture has matured significantly and is no longer just for experimental projects. It's a foundational model for modern application development in 2025, allowing businesses of all sizes to build incredibly scalable, resilient, and cost-effective applications without the heavy lifting of server management.
If you're looking to innovate faster, reduce operational costs, and focus on delivering value through your code, serverless computing is definitely a trend you'll want to embrace.
