KPIs Aren’t Scary, Unrealistic UX Goals Are!
Tumblr media
Sound dramatic? Maybe. But here’s why it’s true: If your UX goals are vague or overly ambitious, you’ll: ❌ Waste time chasing undefined success. ❌ Struggle to measure progress. ❌ End up frustrating your team and users. The truth about impactful UX: • It’s rooted in achievable, measurable goals. • It adapts as user needs evolve. • It’s designed to create real, tangible value. Here’s what really matters: 1️⃣ Define clear, actionable goals (e.g., “reduce bounce rate by 20% in 3 months”). 2️⃣ Use KPIs like user satisfaction, task completion rates, or retention to measure success. 3️⃣ Continuously gather feedback and adjust based on real user data. Your UX strategy doesn’t need to impress everyone with flashy ideas. It needs to deliver value and improve over time. Stop chasing vague goals. 🚫 Start focusing on outcomes that actually matter. ✅ Building or improving your product? Let’s talk about setting UX goals that drive success.

Goals of Mobile UX
Since never really having created an app before I decided to pay and invest in a 12-month membership with the Interaction Design Foundation. Basically an online community with a huge range of UX courses available to participate in and each week they’ve released a new lesson.
One of the first courses I enrolled in was  Mobile User Experience (UX) Design just to ensure what I create for my app is on track and is suitable for my users.
Goals of mobile UX
Easy to use
Users know where controls are
Discoverability is reduced
No understanding is required
Features are where users expect them to be
Users feel in control
Easy to learn
Users can  find their way over time
Users remember shortcuts, rules, routines
Learning curve s short
Confusion is minimized
Satisfying
Produces loyalty behaviour
Users enjoy using it
Stress response is removed
users feel more bonded to it
Friction-free
Broken devices
Supporting distraction to avoid friction
Android feedback you get a small vibrating
5 mobile UX Best Practices
Layout - Use clean layouts to support visible & intuitive controls:
- Visible controls - Visible back button - Visible navigation
Tasks - clear
navigation - that pops that users know where they are
Visual - highly visual elements
Control - Users need control in their environment
= LTN VC
The two rules for mobile
Context is key for mobile
Fat-finger friendly, always - 44 pixels = should be the default for large buttons
Essentially you need to design for mobile so that users always maintain flow, to design for a continuous interaction where the user doesn’t need to stop and think.
