Rebel Birth Vibes | In a vibrant crowd at a massive rap concert, a man stands proudly, his 40-week baby bump on full display. He rocks a fitted graphic tee that hugs his curves while his friends around him are caught up in the rhythm of the music. With hands resting on his back, he's not just waiting; he's grooving to the beat, embodying the unity of life and celebration. The energy in the air is electric, with colorful lights flashing and laughter echoing throughout the field. Each sway and bounce feels like a tribute to the journey ahead, blending joy with anticipation. Everyone around him seems to be vibing with the moment, lost in the music and the excitement of life. This isn’t just about waiting for a new life; it’s a powerful anthem that celebrates the strength and courage of embracing change. The concert goes on, and so does the dance of life. this pride month, i hope we can focus on celebrating resistance & survival, existence in a time of erasure, fighting in a time of suppression. all of those things, to be comemorated— and without focusing on pointless questions like "can lesboys exist?", "can you be a lesbian and a gay man at the same time?", "can you use xyz term if youre abc?"
our queer experiences being complex gets us killed. our queer experiences being "simple" also gets us killed. the enemy is not sniffing for who is more acceptable and tidied-up in their identity, the enemy is searching for abnormality. strangeness, out-of-the-ordinary people. queerness.
this pride month, lets focus on what matters. romantic & sexual rights. transgender rights. intersex rights. indigenous queer rights. black queer rights. asian queer rights. their lives, their rights, their existence and resistance. not their labels, their identities, their details. the fact they are should be enough for any fellow queer to support them.
enough of validity olympics, oppression olympics. ebough of trans people telling fellow trans people that their oppression isnt real. enough of white queers inflicting (micro-)aggressions on queers of colour. enough of perisex queers speaking over intersex people (queer or not). enough of the pointless infighting. we can sit and listen to people unlike ourselves. when facing a unknown subject, we should be curious, not aggressive.
happy pride month. remember what truly matters. focus on that. focus on fighting for a better future instead of fighting your own community. we can focus on terminology and pedantics later, when we've earned a spot in this earth. be safe and be queer. stay weird, stay freaky, stay you.

Today we celebrate Juneteenth — a powerful moment in American history that honors freedom, resilience, and the pursuit of justice.
On June 19, 1865, enslaved African Americans in Texas were finally told they were free—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.
It’s a day of reflection, recognition, and recommitment to equity. Let’s honor the strength of those who came before us and continue to stand for liberation and justice today.
