George Orwell, 1984 Whether you're writing a antagonist or protagonist it's good to keep in mind that internally your character will always be fighting something. Like I said in my previous post conflict it's not just two people struggling for different goals but the changing of emotional values as the characters are challenged and what they perceive to be real or good. Every aspect of our consciousness is being challenged in some way all the time. A character can be motivated or hamstrung by the most grandiose of ideas or the smallest shift of perception.
