Quick Podcaster PSA -

There's been a recent uptick in "bad ads" - that is, automated ads that seem out of place for the shows on which they air. There have been some companies and institutions putting their ads into more "friendly" or publicly-palatable categories in order to have their material air on channels where it would not otherwise be welcome.

I've received a few messages about such ads appearing on Hex Positive and I'm working with my hosting platform to correct the problem. If you hear something on my show that seems at odds with the message of the program or with my principles, please let me know right away.

In the meantime, PLEASE DO NOT UNSUBSCRIBE IF YOU HEAR A BAD AD. Automated ads are chosen by category and showrunners only have so much control over what their hosting platform chooses to go in those spots. Only ads that are read by me are 100% approved to be on the show.

Thank you for your patience while all of us deal with the insidious capitalist machinations of advertising that we unfortunately need in order to keep bringing you the content you love.

Why are more than 300 Americans still dying every week in the ongoing pandemic?

The reasons are obvious… People are still dying of covid because people just keep getting covid, people are not getting vaccinated, people are not wearing masks even where they're likely to spread viruses to vulnerable people like healthcare settings, and a lot of people are not testing even, so they don't' even know they're spreading covid, and also then not calling their doctor for treatment.

Podcasters and livestreamers are big culprits in the not testing category. "Oh I'm sick and I wonder what I have. Maybe it's a cold." Never understood the recklessness to get covid over and over of people who use their voice for a living and have no paid sick time, but there we are. So one would hope that more podcasters would be getting covid boosters, encouraging others to do so, and making a ruckus over restrictions on them.

I'll wait. If you know of any livestreamers or podcasters who are actually promoting vaccination, please let me know, send me clips or links, and I will make a point of letting people know who they are.

And I really wish podcasters would stop saying "during covid" already.

I am disappointed in James and Fuhad, but I'm not surprised. Black men simply don't like black women or do anything positive in regards to us. So I expected that eventually they will show their asses.

We as black women were holding out hope that they might be the good ones, but eventually we are gonna have to come to the agreement that if a black man has a microphone, he isn't gonna use it to praise or uplift black women.

Oh and yes, I know there are a few black men that love us and praise us. The issue is that their voices aren't as loud as the ones that hate us.
