but Imagine the one you could never win over was Caleb's mother. She never raised her voice. She didn't need to. Her disdain was precise, venom hidden beneath the silk. She once told you with a smile that your love was "Admirable" like a child playing dress-up in the clothes of something sacred.

"If I were an Omega, would things be different?" His silence spoke louder than any betrayal. He didn't say yes. But he didn't say no either. That's when the crack in your heart began.

Imagine it happened during Skyheaven's lunar convergence. When psychic storms made it dangerous to suppress instincts. The Academy called it "Resonance Week." For most Alphas and Omegas, it was treated with caution. For you and Caleb, it was a test.

Imagine walking in, and the person you love doesn't see you.

Imagine it wasn't because he forgot you.But because instinct buried everything else.

Imagine the door wasn't locked. That should've been the first sign. You stepped into his quarters, fresh from drills, still half in uniform. You thought he might be resting. Maybe already asleep. You thought he might smile when he saw you. But he didn’t.

Imagine the air was thick. Too warm. Mixed with something unfamiliar. And then you saw her. The Omega. Not just any Omega. Perfect. Engineered. Glowing with heat and pheromones like honey and wildfire. And in front of her was Caleb.

Imagine his eyes were dilated. Chest rising and falling like he couldn't breathe. Shoulders shaking under the weight of instincts barely held back.

Imagine you call out his name once. Soft. He didn't hear it. You said it again, louder this time. And then again, a crack in your voice could be heard this time. Still nothing.

Imagine his whole body was just facing the Omega. Tension in every line of muscle. His hands clenched, then flexed, then reached forward.

"Caleb." You snapped. "Don't." That got his attention. But not like you hoped. He turned toward you. And for a second. Just for a second his eyes flashed with something animal. Not recognition. Not love. Threat. Then he lunged.

Imagine the moment he did that, you didn't think. You moved. You threw yourself between them. And it all happened too fast.

Imagine he hit you. Not a punch, not violent. But a shove so forceful it knocked the air from your lungs and sent your back into the wall. Your shoulder cracked against it. Pain spread down your arm.

Imagine Omega flinched behind you. Their scent flared. You stood again anyway, shaking and gasping. "Caleb. Look at me." Your voice broke. "It's me." And finally... Finally his eyes focused. Just a little.

Imagine could see the war inside him. Recognition crawling its way up through instinct. Through scent. Through everything screaming in his blood to claim the person behind you instead.

Imagine his body was trembling. He took a step forward again and you braced yourself. Not because you thought he'd hurt you. But because the truth already had. He wanted you gone. Not Caleb. The Caleb you knew wouldn't. But this thing inside him.

Imagine reaching out, hand against his chest, just over his heart. "Don't do this." You whispered, almost crying.

Imagine the way he twitched like it burned him. But just then was when the security team burst in. It happened do fast. The suppressants hitting him like ice water and he collapsed to his knees. Gasping. Clawing at the floor. His breath caught on sobs he wasn't fully conscious of.

Imagine all you could do was watch. You didn't go to him. You couldn't. Because it hurt. It hurts to see the person you trusted more than anything fall apart like that. Not because he stopped loving you. But because he couldn't even see you through the fog of what he was born to be.

Imagine as you stood still as they carried him away. The Omega too. Quiet. Unshaken. But no one looked at you. After all you weren't the one he tried to touch.

Imagine later on as you sat by his unconscious figure at the infirmary, they would call it an unfortunate misunderstanding. They'd tell you it wasn't his fault. That it was just biology. Stress. Poor timing.

Imagine you understand but none of that really mattered. Because for those few minutes... You were invisible. And love, the thing you built together so carefully broke under instincts weight. Not with a scream. Not with a goodbye. Just a shove. And silence.

Imagine wanting to scream. You wanting to stay. But more than anything, you wanted to believe that what you had could survive biology, tradition, and the crushing weight of instinct.

but Imagine, love doesn't erase the truth. It just delays it.

Since most of GMMTV's shows don't actually follow the characters into the bedroom, sex positions are usually implied rather than overt, but these are the couples that are at least strongly hinted at being verse.

Well we've got Century of Love and Meet Me At The Blossom starting this week and suddenly my on air watchlist has risen to 9. As a confirmed binge watcher I usually stick to one or two so I dunno what happened there.

Anyway Ep 1 of Century of Love and they managed to get Daou shirtless in 7 minutes. Good start. I would have no problem if he just stayed this way for the entire episode (or series) but sadly 'tis not to be. Boo. And man, he could cut glass with that jawline.

Hi! I'm working on a large stats project about the colour coding of superheros in a/b/o fics, and someone pointed me in the direction of BL as a possible similarity. You've written a Iot of cool stuff about BL symbolisms before, so I thought I'd reach out in case you have any insight.

I admit, I know next to nothing about BL, and while I do know the terms seme/uke have gone out of fashion, have you noticed any particular colour coding of characters in similar dynamics? In superhero a/b/o, for example, those in yellow, orange, or metalics are more likely to be alphas, where as those in brown, purple, and pink, are more likely to be omegas.

No pressure to reply, but if you have any thoughts (or know where to find some), I'd love to hear it!

The figure of the Fool from Meet You At the Blossom (Ep 1 & 2):

It’s no secret but I really fell in love with Xiao Bao from Meet You At the Blossom. At first, I wanted to write my random thoughts about the two first episodes of the series, but nothing I wrote really inspired me. I felt like I was just reciting what happened and I didn’t have fun doing it. I believe I should only write about things that inspire me or interested me. I really appreciate the plot of the series and we have promising and compelling characters, but none of them inspires me more than Xiao Bao. That’s why I’m writing this post specifically on him. I also have to say that I haven’t read that much Danmei, so I don’t know how it can affect all I’m going to write about Xiao Bao. Sorry in advance for any person keen on the genre.

I believe Xiao Bao is the archetype of the Idiot Hero or the Fool. The Fool in a story, is usually a character who has no real idea about what they are doing, doesn’t really know his enemies and who is protected by cheerful disposition. The Fool is freer and happier than those who have the wisdom of what is going in the world. They speak the truth because they don’t craft lies or seek to manipulate others. It works well with Xiao Bao because he is a cheerful person who is only trying to find the person who could be his wife. He is rich so he doesn’t have to worry about anything else than his goal. Even if he faced challenges, his determination remains solid because he stays very optimistic and he knows he will find it. When he met Huai En and mistook him for a woman, he gave his all to seduce him. He never stopped even when he was rejected several times. Xiao Bao is true to himself. He doesn’t need to hide behind a mask. He is not the most clever (doesn’t seem to be able to read properly) and he has never learned how to fight (why would he?! He is blessed with incredible chance so far). His lack of duplicity means that he does not let himself be dictated by fear (he goes after Huai En to save him or he stepped in when the prince was questioning his “future wife”).

The Fool is sometimes considered as a the representation of a new beginning or transformation. Without him, there is no story. It's the quest for finding a wife that leads Xiao Bao to Huai En and their meeting will change both of their life. If Xiao Bao had stayed at home and did nothing, Huai En could go more easily after his goals, but it may not work the way he wanted. He would be stuck on the same loop. Xiao Bao is going to disrupt it and thus will bring changes in his life. It has already started. Huai En would have not experienced the first signs of love and jealousy without Xiao Bao. He would just be hyper focus on his journey. As the Fool, Xaio Bao makes Huai En deviates from the linear path he was supposed to take. Huai En wants to be careful and wants to avoid failures to be sure to accomplish his goals. It can be a trial for him to always be on the lookout . Xiao Bao is not burden by these because of the fact he is the embodiment of the Fool. He lives in the moment and see realities as it fits his view of the world. He doesn't stubble even when he encounters obstacles: Huai En isn't a woman… that's not a problem. He doesn't discriminate. After all he was just trying to be a husband and it doesn't mean his significant other has to be a woman for him to do it. The societal convention doesn't accept it? It doesn't matter to Xiao Bao, there is a solution to any problems.

Poeple may considered Xiao Bao as an airhead but what he lacks in, he makes it up with his good nature and affability. Xiao Bao may be considered a fool by others but he isn’t really one. He is merely perceived this way. That’s why he is my favorite character.

Checking Momo stuff for a reply, I wondered if his paralogue had any lolcalised stuff :

The JP text is more explicit, Momo struggles with his "urges" to slaughter instead of the very sad "he suffered for his muderous past :'("

Billy's line in the localised script can be interpreted as them being glad they put an end to Momo's suffering, aka giving him a mercy kill, but in the JP!version it's inferred that the "ended it" doesn't mean Momo's life, but his urges - like "I'm glad we kille him so he won't struggle with his urges to slaughter people", but I'm still pissed it's seen as something good for Momo, and not, you know, good so no one else will die because a maniac killer was roaming in this forest.

Now comes the pot of tea :

We still have this shit "blood of the beast no longer I now become human".

Fittingly for a paralogue native to Fraud's route, the difference between "beast and human" isn't spelled out, because you can drink a cup of tea while agreeing that Rhea is a cruel beast, but Maurice finally returned to being a "human", aka not a black beast on death, so Marianne isn't "beast blooded".

Which is even more hilarious when you consider what her crest is - yes Mary-Ann, you are "beast" blooded, rather "Nabatean" blooded even if Momo was/is/returned to his human form. And the verse dgaf about, idk, Poppy*, the Nabatean who was slaughtered by Maurice/used by Maurice to get his super-powers.

Less hilarious is the implication - in the jp text when the loc just went with a general sobfest for Momo's backstory - that Momo was struggling with his urges to slaughter...

When Nopes (sure it's a later thing, so it might count as a retcon?) reveals Momo was already slaughtering people right and left (and even potentially his own allies!), even back as a human!

So, when in his paralogue Momo goes :

My beastly blood is roused... You will not be able to stop me!

Is he actually "blaming" his urges to slaughter on his "beastly blood", aka, on Poppy??? Like, it's the Nabatean's fault if he wants to slaughter? Was he pulling the same shit back then during the WoH "oh noes, if I slaughter my allies and plant wild oats, it's not because of me being an asshole, but's the fault of that weird beast whose blood I drank!"

But hey, it's peak Fodlan writing, aka, victim blaming at its finest, and no one calling it BS.

Project Roots is an upcoming poetry book that is meant to highlight the effects of trauma and grief through my own personal experiences coping with mental illness and growing up queer in rural Appalachia, United States. My goal with this book is to give people who otherwise feel alone in their struggle a light at the end of the tunnel, so to speak, poetry that they can relate to, that displays the raw and darker sides of mental illness that the public tends to shy away from.

It is a heavy work in progress; (wip) but, I expect the book to be published by the Summer of 2025, so long as I stop procrastinating.
