• Jonathan and you had a lovely wedding, the man wasn't very big on weddings, especially since he didn't have any family to invite, and he didn't consider anyone a friend, really, but he wanted to make sure that you two had a wonderful wedding, even if it was small. It was your and Jonathan's wedding day and the two of you made many memories that night.
• He was a husband who always made you smile and someone who was there for you. Of course, the two of you had your disagreements and a couple of fights, but Jonathan always made up to you, the type of man to come home with flowers after an argument and apologize. He hated seeing you mad or upset at him.
• He holds your hand in public, especially when the two of you when you two wait in line, Jonathan didn't really display big emotions so you would never know when he was jealous but whenever someone tried to hit on you or make a move on you, Jonathan would kiss your cheek or hand, getting you with a. ❝ Hello, dear sorry that took so long. But I'm here now my heart. ❞ If they didn't get the hint that you were married or didn't care that you were married. Well, that night Jonathan would be gone, and within a few days, the person who tried to steal you away from Jonathan would be on the news as missing.
• Jonathan always wears his wedding band, but not when he's out terrorizing the streets of Gotham. But any other time, Jonathan is wearing his wedding band with pride and to also keep away any women who try to make a move on him, but Jonathan will bluntly tell them he's married, and if they don't care, then Jonathan will be harsh and tell them why he's not interested. He only loves you and just you. No one else can compare to you.
• For your anniversary, Jonathan will plan a romantic dinner, which will be the meal you both first ate on your first date, and he'll wear the same suit he wore when he first met you. Jonathan will gift you a bouquet of your favorite flowers and a gift. After dinner, he'll put on some music and slow dance with you in the living room. Bodies pressed together while it's just you, him, and the music.
• He's a gentle lover in the bedroom, someone who will put your pleasure first. The louder you moan then the more pleasure he'll inflict on your body. He'll use his mouth and hands to explore your body, tracing his tongue in place while looking at you. Eye contact is important to Jonathan, he loves seeing your eyes roll back in pleasure. He's big on aftercare and will clean you up, get you some water, and hold you close in bed.
• If you want children, then Jonathan will do his best to give you a child, and will be an excellent parent, but he's nervous because he doesn't want to end up like his parents, especially his grandmother; he wants to be a good parent, one who loves children and will protect them. But if you don't want children then Jonathan understands and won't force you to have children - He's fine with adopting animals if that's what you are up for.
• Jonathan gets up early before you and will have breakfast ready, he'll wake you up by kissing you all over your cheek and neck, slowly placing kisses on your shoulder while mumbling that you should get out of bed because he made you and him breakfast. But when it comes to going to bed, Jonathan is a night owl, and you have to get him into bed; it's harder when he falls asleep at his desk. Research papers were scattered all over the desk, an empty coffee cup, and his Scarecrow mask was half stitched up. You'll help him to bed and he'll thank you, he'll hold you close all night glad to have you as his spouse.
• A lot of people don't understand why you married him. He's the Scarecrow. How could you marry the Scarecrow? Some believe he forced you to marry him or that you are as crazy as he is, because who in their right mind would marry a villain; someone who has terrorized the streets of Gotham and harmed many people. How could you marry that monster?
• ❝ Why did you marry me? I'm a monster. Are you not scared of me and the backlash, the everlasting whispers and stares? ❞ Jonathan would ask you. ❝ I'm not scared, you are beautiful like an angel that fell from heaven, when we first started dating... There were already whispers and stares, they didn't stop me from saying yes or I do~ ❞ You replied. How lucky he was to have you. Maybe you were a fallen angel just like him, he knew he was a monster, but he would never sink his claws into you, but protect you with them, especially from the other monsters in Gotham.

Born To Run
Hi!! This is inspired by a post by @miadeardn ! Basically, Spider-Verse AU with the flash family. I own nothing DC and Spider-Verse owns. Warning: non graphic death and fights. Please let me know if more tags need to be added. Stay safe and enjoy!
“Wallace! You better be ready!” Ace winced as he was most certainly not ready.
“Coming, Aunt Iris!” He called back.
He ran to get ready and tried to not have a grumpy face. Avery always teased him because of it.
Today was the day he was visiting his aunt’s boyfriend at his job. Something about an olive branch. Yeah, sure.
Wallace smiled and denied the offer for a ride. He’s fine taking his bike.
Finally making it to CCPD, he made his way (with some trouble) to Barry’s office.
The weather decided to match his mood because it started raining hard.
Great. Now he needs to ride home with Barry…which was probably his aunt’s plan. Wallace almost wants to ride his bike in the rain just out of spite but he pushes those thoughts from his mind.
“Hey.” He called out to Barry, who closed his laptop quickly.
Wallace tried not to let it bother him. Really.
“Hey!” Barry exclaimed then winced at how loud that sounded. “Hey. How’s it going?” Barry checked his watch. “Ah. It’s 12. Right. I’ll grab my stuff and we can head to lunch and then I can show you around. There’s this great place down the street—“
“It’s raining.” Wallace pointed out.
Barry paused then turned to the window as if he was shocked to see rain. “Oh.”
“Yeah. Oh. It’s fine. I ate before I came here.”
Barry smiled but his eyes were still on the window.
Great.
Wallace walked to the window as thunder rolled. Barry put a hand on Wallace’s shoulder.
“There’s something you should know.”
“If you’re cheating on my aunt, I’m—“
“I’m not!” Barry exclaimed and then became more quiet and moved his hand away. He walked away to stand by the desk, leaving Wallace alone at the window. “I’m not. Wallace, I’m—“
Wallace didn’t get to know what he said next because a bolt of lightning struck the glass and hit Wallace in the chest, sending him flying back into a rack of chemicals.
Wallace woke up. He felt like he was out for ten minutes and thirty years at the same time.
“Hey. Good to see you’re awake.” Barry said.
“This is somehow your fault.” Wallace groaned. He and Barry were at Terrific Tech if any of the lab coats were anything to go by.
“Not entirely untrue, I’m afraid. I was trying to get faster to stop someone and it seems—“
“Faster? Stop someone? Dude, you’re a Crime Scene Investigator! Who are you going to…” Wallace trailed off. No way. “You’re…”
“I’m Flash, Wallace. I have superspeed and it seems so do you.”
“…what?!”
Mr. Terrific made his appearance that moment. “For someone who took a bolt of lightning to the chest and fell onto chemicals, you healed really fast.” He joked. Wallace didn’t laugh but Barry did.
“Does aunt Iris know?” Wallace demanded.
“Don’t be mad at her but yes. I waited to tell her longer than I should’ve but she knows.”
Wallace sat.
Barry moved to do…something when his phone rang. He frowned a bit and answered it.
“This is Flash—“ Before Barry could get the whole sentence out, the other person quickly spoke.
“It’s Grodd. He’s doing it.” Those last three words had Barry’s eyes widening.
“I’ll be right there.” He hung up. “Stay here.” He said to Wallace and then turned to Terrific. “Let’s go.”
They were gone in a flash.
Wallace waited a whole five minutes before he decided he’s not going to wait on the sidelines for answers. He’s getting them now.
Wallace doesn’t know where Grodd is doing evil stuff but he pulls out his phone and opens social media.
A gorilla attack in downtown Central City by The Flash Museum according to multiple users.
Wallace gets up and falls on his face.
Okay. So. He probably should get his balance. He was unconscious for a while.
Wallace gets up and he means to run to grab his bike that he hopes isn’t still at the station but instead he makes it across the hallway in a second.
Oh.
Guess Barry wasn’t joking.
Wallace looked down to make sure his clothes weren’t burned off and was surprised to see him in some sort of costume that felt stronger than regular clothes.
Okay. Downtown Central City. Flash Museum.
Answers.
Wallace runs and he is grateful he knows the city so well on bicycle that he makes it to The Flash Museum in under 10 minutes.
He stops on the way to grab a party mask. He paid for it but he wished they had something other than a purple masquerade one. It is not his favorite color.
Wallace stops at the museum’s steps and thinks of what to do. His thoughts are interrupted when Barry comes flying out of the doors and hits the ground hard.
Barry looks up to see him and his eyes widen. He grabs Wallace and runs him about 400 feet away. He looks like he wants to run further but his lack of calories won’t let him. He crouched behind a large piece of concrete and drags Wallace down.
Grodd, a giant gorilla, came out of the museum laughing. “You think you can stop me?”
“Stay here.”
Wallace grabbed his arm. “Are you crazy? He’ll kill you.”
“The league is working to make sure his device doesn’t work and I’m keeping him busy.”
“Flash!” Grodd called. “Where are you, coward?!”
“Stay here and please, Wallace, listen to me this time.”
He’s gone before Wallace can say anything.
“Looking for me, buddy?” Barry sounds out of breath but he still says it.
Wallace chances a glance on the side of the concrete.
Barry is losing.
Grodd hit him again and again. Barry falls down.
Wallace makes a move to do something but Barry shakes his head a bit.
“Even now you think of your love.” Grodd taunted. “You hope someone will be there for her—whoever she is.”
Aunt Iris. He has to be there for aunt Iris.
Wallace stops moving.
“Goodbye Flash. You can rest knowing you were a worthy adversary.”
One final hit—
Barry is gone before Wally can do anything.

The funeral for The Flash was filled with people and quiet.
Nobody said much on the televised ceremony.
The funeral for Barry Allen was not as full of people but full of stories.
Avery came to pay respects and check on Wallace but he was more worried about his aunt Iris.
Wallace wants to tell her that Barry’s last thoughts were of her but he doesn’t know if that would help much.
Avery put a hand on Wallace’s shoulder. “I’m so sorry.”
“I was there.”
“What?”
He realized he didn’t want to keep this from Avery.
“I need to tell you something.”
After he was done, she looked at him like he grew two heads.
“It’s the truth.” He shrugged.
“I didn’t know you were like me.”
“Like you?”
She nodded.
Wallace tried not to feel hurt. “You’re a speedster?”
“Shh. You don’t know who’s listening. Yeah. I got hit by lightning and Barry…he was helping me.”
“Oh. So he’s fine with you in the field.“
“Hey, no. No. He didn’t want me to be in the field. I—“
“Where were you? If you had speed, you could’ve helped.”
“Wallace.”
“No! I’m sick of everyone lying to me and leaving me in the dark! You, Barry, aunt Iris. I’m sick of it!”
Wallace felt the lightning under his fingertips and he ran in the other direction.
He is back at The Flash Museum looking at all the damage when he realized he had run across the city.
He sits down on the ground in front of the statue of The Flash.
“I’m sorry.” Wallace whispered. He doesn’t know what he’s apologizing for—leaving the lab, blowing up at Avery, being at that window when Barry was supposed to get faster.
Maybe for all of it.
He put his head in his hands when he heard someone call out, “Hey. What’s wrong?”
Wallace whipped around and got up lightning fast. He put up his fists.
The person looked incredibly unimpressed.
She’s wearing all white with gold lightning bolts.
Great. Another person Barry trusted before Wallace.
“Who are you?”
“Lightspeed and I’m not from this universe.”
Wallace started to get dizzy.
“You didn’t eat yet today, did you?”
Wallace opened his mouth to answer and he stumbled a bit.
Lightspeed swore a bit and disappeared. In a few seconds, she was back with some food.
“Sit down.” She ordered. Wallace did.
They began to eat in silence.
“You’re from another universe? Like that Jay Garrick comic Barry was obsessed with as a kid?”
“No idea who either of those people are.” Lightspeed shrugged. “A portal opened and I had nothing better to do than jump in it.”
Wallace gave her a look. “You fell through it by accident.”
Lightspeed looked away. “Yup.” She looked back at Wallace. “So, what do I call you?”
“Me?”
“Yeah. You’re a speedster, aren’t you?” She looked at the statue. “Are you the next Flash?”
“No!” He exclaimed then quieted down.
“I didn’t mean to offend.” Lightspeed offered.
“I know. It’s fine. I don’t want that.”
“You can call me Ace.”
“Ace?”
“Nickname. I don’t want to give my name.”
“Right. Of course. Sorry Wallace.”
“What?! How?!”
“I know your doppelgänger on my Earth.” She explained.
“Wait. I just realized. How do I know you’re telling the truth?”
Lightspeed thought for a moment that didn’t last long. She stood up and took the trash. Then she was back and offered a hand to Wallace.
“Let me show you.”
This is such a bad idea. This is such a bad idea. This is such a bad idea.
He took her hand and they both ran.
They went to look at a fancy looking house.
“Whose house is this?” Wallace asked.
“My doppelgänger’s house.”
They watched as a person who looks a lot like Lightspeed without the mask argued with a man.
“I’ve been watching them for a while. Ever since I fell here.”
“When did you fall here?”
She looked at him. “Two weeks ago.”
“Who’s he?”
Lightspeed looked away. “Her husband. Rick.”
“Alright. Unless you’re a twin, you’re not from this Earth.” Wallace admitted.
“Only child.” Lightspeed promised.
“We should head back.”
There was a sound and air moving.
“Oh, boy.” Lightspeed said, sounding tired. “Someone has been following me for a while now.”
Wallace was immediately on alert. “Who?”
“No idea. Let’s go.”
They ran back to The Flash Museum to see Avery in all purple with a lightning bolt.
“A friend of yours?” Lightspeed wondered.
“Best friend.” He said then turned to Avery. “What’s going on?”
“I told your aunt that you needed some time.”
“Thanks.”
Silence. Wallace knew it wasn’t comfortable like it usually is with Avery.
“Sorry.” They said at the same time and then laughed.
“Have you been following Lightspeed?” Wallace asked.
Both said no.
“The one that’s following me is someone different—someone who’s familiar.” Lightspeed admitted.
“Let’s go somewhere more private.” Avery suggested.
They all ran, just missing someone watching from the shadows.
Aunt Iris immediately checked on all of them when they came back to the house.
“We need to stop Grodd.” Wallace said.
Everyone paused and then looked at him.
“The Justice League is handling it.”
“Like they handled whatever he was planning?  My bet is that is what opened the portal.”
“I doubt it. If it was just me that came through the portal, then—“
“That’s a pretty big if.”
Lightspeed opened her mouth when the doorbell rang.
Everyone stood, immediately on alert.
Aunt Iris pushed through all of them and checked the door. She gasped and opened it to show a girl who looked to be around 13. She has red hair, green and brown eyes, and a determined expression. She’s holding up a boy with black hair and brown eyes who is leaning on her.
“Hi aunt Iris! Have you seen our parents?”
                        ______________
To say everyone was shocked would be the understatement of the year.
Aunt Iris shook out of it the fastest and led the girl and boy into the house.
The girl brought the boy to the couch for him to heal up. Aunt Iris didn’t even seem to mind the boy was bleeding a little on her couch.
She told Wallace to get the first aid kid but Wallace couldn’t move. They called her aunt Iris. That shouldn’t be possible.
“Wallace.” Aunt Iris said and that got him moving but then the boy’s injury healed immediately.
“What the—“ Lightspeed started but then looked at the girl and stopped.
The girl didn’t seem to mind and laughed. “You’re funny, mom.”
Everyone paused and Lightspeed’s eyes widened. “It was you that had been following me.”
The girl nodded.
“I’m Irey. Dad always said I have to be careful who I share that with but you’re family, so it’s fine.”
“Dad?” Lightspeed echoed.
The girl—Irey’s face fell a little. “He, um. He died when we were 9.”
Aunt Iris put a hand on Irey’s shoulder.
“I’m okay, aunt Iris. But Jai and I need to—“
“Jai?” Wallace said. “Like Jay Garrick?”
Irey nodded. “Dad and Mom named me after his aunt and Jai after Poppy.”
Wait.
Before Wallace can fully freak out, Jai says something from the couch, “Grodd.”
The room goes silent once again. Wallace is getting tired of the silence.
“How does he know that name?” He demands.
“We have a Grodd on our earth. He’s a bad guy.” Irey answered.
“Why is he thinking about Grodd right now?”
Irey bit her lip. “Uh.”
“Who injured him?” Wallace pushed.
“Wallace.” Aunt Iris said.
“I just want answers.”
Wallace didn’t mean to step forward but he feels so lost and confused and maybe if he gets answers, the feelings will go away.
Irey stepped in a way that blocked Jai from him.
Wallace took a step back, surprised and ashamed. He wasn’t going to hurt anyone, especially not a kid who is barely conscious.
“This was a mistake.” Irey said and moved to grab Jai.
“Wait.” Avery said.
Irey ignores her and tries to pick up her brother.
“Irey. Hang on a second.” Aunt Iris tries.
Wallace says nothing.
Lightspeed went beside Irey and went to the girl’s eye level.
Irey didn’t meet her eyes but Lightspeed spoke nonetheless.
“My name is Linda Park and I know you’re probably really strong but I think you need a little help.”
Irey frowns. Clearly, like Barry, she doesn’t love asking for help.
Like Wallace.
“Think of it like this.” Lightspeed, Linda, starts. “How far do you think you’d get with him like this?”
“He’s healing.” Irey said almost immediately but she stopped moving.
“I understand that. Wallace is just as confused as you are.”
Irey turned to Wallace, who offered her a small smile.
Irey said and did nothing for a long moment and then she smiled back.
“On our earth, Grodd was talking to someone from another universe. A different version of himself. We fought him as a portal opened. I ran through it with Jai.”
“That was dangerous.” Aunt Iris said.
“Yeah, you’d probably say that on our earth, too, but they don’t call me Impulse for nothing.”
“Impulse?” Avery wondered.
“My other name. He’s Surge.” She pointed to Jai, who started to sit up.
“Worst headache ever.” He complained.
The oven beeped. Aunt Iris moved towards the kitchen. “That’s dinner. Good thing I made a lot.” She said the last bit quietly.
Wallace followed her to the kitchen. “How long did you know Barry was Flash?” He asked as she pulled the food out.
Aunt Iris sighed tiredly. “A month after we started dating. He told me two months in.” She had a sad smile. “He always had to disappear and I noticed. I am a reporter, after all. We notice the small things.”
“And you never said anything.”
“I knew he would tell me when he was ready.”
Aunt Iris put a hand on his shoulder. “I’m proud of you.”
Wallace frowned. “There’s nothing to be proud of. If I wasn’t at that window—“
“You were trying to connect. You wanted to help Barry when he fought Grodd. You’re helping all those people in the living room. You know, sometimes Barry didn’t like his powers—he was always worried of hurting someone. I knew he wouldn’t. He’s too good. You’re good. It’s good that you were at that window. It may not always seem like it but it is true.”
Wallace felt tears come. “I’m sorry.”
“You have nothing to be sorry for.” She promised.
They hugged.
Aunt Iris pulled back and wiped a few tears away. “Okay, let’s go eat some food.”
“What about after that?”
“After that, I have a surprise.”
The food was delicious and everyone was silent as they ate. For once in a long time, it wasn’t an awkward silence.
“It’s getting late.” Aunt Iris said after they rest a bit and put all the dishes in the dishwasher.
Jai and Irey looked up and at each other.
Jai said, “We don’t have a bedtime on our earth.”
Irey nodded. “We’re 13 ½ so yeah…”
They’re both terrible liars.
“Nice try.” Linda said.
“You’re on this earth so you’re going to bed.” Aunt Iris said.
Wallace snorted. It’s been a while since he was their age and had a set bedtime.
“Wallace.” She said while not looking away from the twins.
“Oops.”
Avery snorted which made her laugh harder.
Jai and Irey said Goodnight to everyone and Wallace took them to the only guest room.
Irey fell into bed and immediately fell asleep, obviously tired from the fight with Grodd, the trip, and dinner. Jai stood still.
“Hey, man. What’s wrong?”
“What if…What if we fail? What if we can’t get home? What if we’re trapped here? What if—“
Wallace went to Jai’s eye level. “None of that. We’re gonna win. Do you know why?” He asked. Jai shook his head. “This earth’s flash had a saying: We’re running together.”
Jai smiled. “Uncle Barry said the same.”
Wallace wanted to ask more but Jai looked more tired. “Head to bed. We’ll talk more tomorrow.”
Jai nodded.
Wallace left the room and saw aunt Iris walking up the stairs. “So. What’s the surprise?”
She took him to the attic. “When I first heard what happened, I knew you would want to help. It’s just who you are. You can’t go around wearing Terrific Tech and a party mask all the time. So…”
She pulled off a red sheet to reveal a case. In the case was a silver top and black pants suit with a red lightning bolt in the middle.
“I couldn’t come up with a name for a long time. How do you feel?”
Aunt Iris turned and Wallace put the suit on.
It fit perfectly. Wallace looked at her. She smiled. “We’ll have to think of a name.” He said.
Aunt Iris nodded. “Go to bed.”
“Aw, man.”
The next day, Wallace woke up to someone falling on his bedroom floor.
He was immediately awake and putting his hands up.
“Woah, man. That was a really bad fall.” The guy wasn’t even looking at Wallace.
“Uh, hey.” Wallace said.
The guy turned and he looked just like aunt Iris and Barry, which is insane and Wallace doesn’t think his brain can handle anymore.
“Hey, Wallace, I’m Bart. Your doppelgänger says hello.”
Wallace stared at him.
Bart shrugged. “Anyway, we have to stop Grodd before he takes over the multiverse, so if you can stop staring and start moving, that would be great.”
Wallace was shocked into moving when he heard a yell outside and they both walked out of his room.
“Uh, aunt Iris.” Irey called. “I think Grodd opened the portal again.”
Irey and Jai walk out of the guest room with a woman with dark hair and eyes.
Linda and aunt Iris are talking to an older man with a red shirt, blue pants, and a helmet and a man beside him in white and blue.
There’s a blonde woman and a person with silver hair talking to a woman with black hair, brown eyes, and a purple shirt and a man in green.
“I think we need some introductions.”
They introduced themselves over breakfast. The woman who fell into the guest room is Meena Dhawan, Jay Garrick is the man with the helmet and Max Mercury was beside him, and the blonde is Jesse Chambers, the silver haired person is Jess Chambers, and the people they were talking to are Jenni Ognats and Jules Jourdain.
“You’re Impulse, too?” Irey asked, looking excited. “Cool!”
Bart chuckled. “Yup.”
“Looks like we got a lot of help to stop Grodd.” Avery said.
_____
Jay told them that it was his earth that the versions of Grodds were meeting but they can only meet for a small amount of time.
“Why?” Linda wondered.
“It’s why I think the portal only brought us. The Speed Force. Think of it as the force that gives us our powers. If Grodd wants to be here for longer periods, they need the Speed Force to do it.” Max answered.
“How do we find the portal?” Jesse asked.
Avery answered, “I think I know someone who can help.”
Hartley Rathaway looked less surprised to see this many speedsters and more amused.
“Hello.”
“Hey.” Avery greeted him. “Your rats go everywhere. Do they know where Grodd is?”
“Now that you mention it.” Hartley played a note on his flute, calling some rats. He picked up one. “This one is a new one and he talks.”
“Cool!” Jai said.
“Yeah, until it’s 3 in the morning.”
“I’m from a universe of talking rats. I like to see the world—“
“That’s nice. These people do need to know what you know. You won’t answer me.”
The rat looked at all the speedsters and answered immediately, “Gorilla City.”
“What?” Wallace said.
“No, he’s right.” Aunt Iris said from the communication device she had them wear. “I’m seeing on camera Grodd going through a boom tube.”
Wallace looked around.
Aunt Iris continued. “Tech that can take you to different places. It probably doesn’t work for what he’s planning.”
The rat spoke up. “He needs speed.”
“We gotta go.”
“I know where it is.” Avery said. She turned to Hartley. “Thanks.”
They all ran.
Getting to the city was easy. Grodd broke down the barrier.
“Stay on communication devices.” Aunt Iris said.
Avery nodded. “Jai, Irey, get the civilians to safety. Jess, Jules, find a way to turn the barrier back on. Grodd—any version—doesn’t leave here without us. Once you’re done, come help the rest of us.” They all heard yells. “Grodd has an army but he needs at least one of us alive. Hit them when you can, find Grodd and the portal, and don’t get caught. Everyone good.” They all nodded. “Let’s run.”
Everyone set off to do their jobs and Wallace ran, taking down a lot of Grodd’s soldiers. He found a room with a man inside a cell.
The man’s eyes widened. “You need to get to safety.” He said. There was a power stopper around his neck. Scars and bruises littered his face and body that wasn’t covered by a shirt and pants.
“No way. I’m not leaving you here.” Wallace tried to phase but he couldn’t. He hadn’t been able to get that one yet. Okay. Old fashion way. “What’s your name?”
“You look like someone I know.”
“Cool.” Wallace noticed the hesitation to give a name. “I’m not going to hurt you. I just want to help.”
“I’m Wally. Wally West.”
Wallace paused for half a second and then resumed. “Nice to meet you. I’m Wallace.”
Wally’s eyes told him that the older man knew.
An explosion shook the building. Footsteps came. Wallace didn’t have the door unlocked yet. In his defense, he’s never done this before.
“You need to go.”
Yelling.
Wallace looked out the window to see a barrier surrounding the city.
The door flew open revealing Grodd throwing Linda into the room.
She got back up and raced at him.
Wally was up so fast you’d think his speed was there. “Wallace. Listen to me. You have to phase.”
“I…can’t.” Wallace admitted.
“I used to not be able to either but you can do it. Just imagine your molecules are vibrating.”
“What?”
Grodd threw Linda again.
Wally shook. “Please. Wallace. Please.”
Wallace closed his eyes and tried again as Linda began to lose the fight.
No.
He won’t lose another person to Grodd.
The glass broke and with it, the collar fell from Wally’s neck as Grodd threw Linda in their air.
Wallace blinked and suddenly Wally was running so fast he jumped off the wall and went into the air, using momentum. He caught Linda and brought her down safely.
For a moment, they were staring at each other but Grodd was still frozen. Wallace got the idea their mouths were moving but nothing else.
Soon, time started again.
Both Linda and Wally were on their feet. Wallace was ready. He raced cuffs onto Grodd and knocked him down.
Grodd laughed. “You’ve stopped me from leaving but you haven’t stopped me from using one of you and killing the rest.”
More of his soldiers came into the room with guns pointed.
They all raised their hands but Wallace saw Linda smile at him and touch her communication device.
“I think we need a bit of impulsivity.” She said calmly.
Nothing happened and then the building shook.
“Sir?” One of the soldiers called anxiously.
“Shoot them!” Grodd ordered. “We can use one of the others.”
“Get away from the center of the room.” Bart’s voice said from the device.
They all ran in different directions, all moving away from the center of the room.
Jesse and Jai burst through the floor and clap their hands at Grodd and his army, sending them flying back. Irey and Bart came in with a gorilla.
“Long story.” Irey said. “That’s Solar. He’s got it from here—“
She stopped when she saw Wally.
“Jai.” She called.
The boy came over and his eyes widened.
“Dad?”
“Are we from the same universe?” Irey wondered. “Because if we’re not, you should tell us now and—“
“It’s me.” Wally said simply.
They rushed and hugged him.
“No! No! No!” Grodd said. “I killed The Flash.”
All the other speedsters came.
Wallace said, “No, you killed a Flash and you’re going to go away for that but don’t ever forget that we are running together.”
_____
“I think you should be the next Flash.” Wallace told Avery once they made it back to Central City.
Avery paused. “What about you?”
“I told Linda the truth. I don’t want it. You stepped up. Like I said, you won’t be the only flash but you should be a flash.”
Avery hugged him. “I love you.”
“Love you, too.” He hugged her back.
Sending everyone home was certainly a time. Jay, Jesse, and Max made a new portal by lunch. Jai and Irey said goodbye to everyone and went through the portal with Wally first. They had a lot of catching up to do, especially with their mom. Before they went, he hugged Wallace.
Soon, it was just Linda. Aunt Iris and Avery gave them space after saying their own goodbyes.
“You think of a name, yet?”
“Yeah. Burst.”
“I like it.” Linda smiled. “Are you guys going to be alright?”
“Yeah. Are you?”
She looked at the portal. “I talked to that Earth’s  Wally. I told him I met my Earth’s Wally, but I didn’t think anything would come of it. I was scared, I think. I don’t want to feel pressured just because we’re together in another universe…but the idea of never seeing him again…”
Wallace smiled. “I think you know what you have to do.”
Linda wiped a tear away. “I told my doppelgänger to not give up on love before I came back to the house.”
Wallace’s eyes widened. “What did she say?”
“Oh, she screamed but she also is starting to look after her mental health starting with a divorce.”
“That’s good.” Wallace said.
Linda cracked a smile. “Stay safe, Wallace.”
“You, too, Linda.” She ran through the portal and Avery turned it off.
“Is anyone else super hungry?” She asked and they all laughed and went inside.
______
Eventually, everything went back to normal.
Avery was accepted by the Justice League as Flash even if people still sometimes suck about it.
Aunt Iris won a Pulitzer for reporting on the Grodd event.
Everyone from their trip made it home safely and Wallace even has the communication device that Max fixed to work with the Speed Force to talk to everyone.
Even Hartley changed sides fully, beyond just helping from time to time with Avery and Wallace’s help. Mostly because he wants to change.
As for Wallace, he’s been going out as Burst and fighting all sorts of rogues.
He visits Barry’s grave more than the flash memorial with a promise.
He’s never running alone.

The Comic Verse Ending ....it was all written by  Jughead...maybe
Posed situation. Jug is writing as the last shot of the show in some capacity implying the whole show has been written by him. Not a theory that has been uncommon in these parts we’ve certainly seen it batted around though for the most part we all think its a huge cop out.
Lets take the posed situation again we come upon Jug writing one of these abominations( Betty is there in my version but hey choose your own destiny while you imagine it), as comics not books...and that is very important as it is the magic “a wizard did it” moment that will make things have reasons.
This is just a  take of the possible series of events that could have taken place to create all of these AUs if in fact we find out Jughead is behind it.
We should know I’m wordy by now...hope you enjoy this explanation for what could possibly be.
After the success of his first book ,which ends up being a fictionalized YA retelling of his and Betty's love story in high school, as per the show; Jug struggles to write as he has always drawn from the craziness of his life. (To give it nuance perhaps he’s still working on the more autobiographical version of the original novel but isn't ready to put himself out there like that. )
Regardless there is the somewhat dicey part where we aren't sure if anyone outside of Riverdale knows that the book is a fictionalized account of real events or not ( considering some more ...interesting events could have some legal consequences if not kept under wraps) however the town we are told went to shit cause of Hiram not cause Jug made them look bad in a  book, so lets say  as far as people know it’s not a true story.
This leaves a lot of interesting, shocking and downright outlandish content for Jug to have that can easily fold into his existing book universe. So he decides hey there's stuff I didn't add, but no one knows it’s real so lets make it a comic book extra.
It turns into a comic series based on his novel, however the novel is limited in that it has an open yet happy ending, danger gone and two people waiting on the future with a little epilogue and all. But the comic is popular and he is pressured into more ( and under a contract) but leaving Riverdale helped make life much less dramatic and he was at a loss so when he was pressured to write more, he ended up just coming up with the craziest stuff he could and they ate it up before he could say just kidding.
Being involved with life in general and attempting to write another novel to get out of the universe he created ( spend bulk of life trying to get out of Riverdale....end up in several different versions of Riverdale) because of this ghost writers were brought in, or rather secondary writers to create and continue working on the comic universe. Jughead, adamant that he needed to fix the comic universe from the death spiral he put it in ( pretending to loose Betty and succumbing to his fathers failings was tough for him to parse out on paper) didn't want the help.
So they tell him....don’t you know how comics work? Think of your part as world one. We can keep cranking out some comics with these characters in different universes. Diversify the story, give some fantasy elements, shake things up by rearranging couples. Drop the readers into a new version of the world. Create something bigger than it started that can last for a long time in 5 different ways if we play it right. DC and Marvel do it all the time.
To a Jughead who is relatively young, having pressure put on him to produce and a life outside of his writing....financial security seemed worth loosening the reigns. It’s your property, it’s like they are playing with dolls, they can tell you the story and you can contribute.
He thinks the stories are insane and hates how shallow the characters seem out of their original story. He asks them to give the female lead a new look so she looks a little less like the person shes based on.
In the end he contributes sarcasm and it’s taken seriously.
When asked how do we segue into a new universe while the old one is on pause he posits...Just blow it all up and then have the main character announce it, make it obvious its a new universe. Thus Narrator Jughead is born.
He writes the special anniversary issue himself and hopes he brought some levity to people waiting on the original story to continue.
But the new worlds multiply. There’s an straight cult AU, there's superheros, witches, all tenuously “connected” but also their own entities.
But he’s done, it needs to end. He got out of Riverdale once and needs to do it again so he begins finishing the original story, then he picks up and finishes the others for good measure. It’s imperfect, the new universes feel like incomplete puzzles and the usage of characters baffles him but saying anything about characterization that implies real life counterparts is a big no, though plenty have figured that the characters looks are inspired, enough changes were made that real life has not been dragged into this.
But its over the chapter can close Frankenstein's monster defeated and they can continue to live happily ever after.
As we close Jughead lets his harshest editor take a look.
Betty says time to finally create some original characters, I think we’re all tired of looking at ourselves.
....He never sells movie/tv rights.
Find the beginnings of a more detailed fic version of this here.

currently reading: Uncanny X-Men ( 2024 )
i am MUTALS ONLY. Liking my startercalls or sending ic asks without being mutuals with me will result in a hardblock
I don't do starter calls! [ send me memes or plot with me! ] many times my starters have been ignored or gone nowhere. This is easier for me!
following/interacting! Marvel, DC, any other kinds of comics or series, if I'm vaguely aware of it, I'm sure we can figure something out!
Religion. Kurt is catholic. He studied for priesthood. This is not changing. There will be religious scripts, references, and mentions of God throughout my headcanons and threads. I personally was raised Southern Baptist and have worked through religious trauma, so I'm highly familiar with scripture. I'm also quite familiar with the catholic faith, as most all christian religions were taught in my school. If you have religious trauma, please curate your space!
shipping is for friends only. Every ship is in its own verse unless otherwise stated. I'd love to have a main-ship, but I'd prefer it all to happen organically! I also do not ask to ship, so if you would like to, please let me know!
tentatively dupe friendly - if I sense that my hcs are being taken, I will approach you about it and/or block.
NO DRAMA!! Unless someone I'm interacting with is a dangerous person, with receipts, do not approach me about drama.I don't keep up with media drama. Celebrity drama, Anime or Manga author drama, etc etc. There have been moments in rping where I've written in fandoms known for a problematic history or author. My autism and ADHD comes with some intense memory problems ( ranging from 'forgot what I ate today' to 'what is my birthday??' ) it's quite scary, but this means that some things just leave my memory no matter how all over the internet the drama was. I hope you can understand and show me a bit of grace when it comes to these things. please don't assume i just 'should know better' or 'its 2025 you should have known this!'. I really don't mind just a simple DM telling me that something upsetting happened with X, Y, or Z, so that I can tag it, delete it, and try my best to remember it. Thank you
low activity -- I am currently writing a novel
I have autism, please be patient with me and my quiet periods. Sometimes I take weeks or months to get back to people, my social battery is always very very low. I also do not take 'hints'. Please be blunt with me and I will be blunt with you!
If I'm not here, I'll be on my oc @deathleads
*will sometimes follow marvel blogs first, after no follow back within a week of active posting, I usually hard block so I don't keep trying to follow you. i'm quite forgetful, sorry in advance!

@intcthatgoodnight / kathy & angel liked  for a starter.
Tumblr media
“Do you know what ice cream is?”  The query was offered in a very serious, and very awed tone, with residual smears of what had probably been a chocolate ice cream cone plastered over her cheeks and chin and even a bit on her hands that she hadn’t spotted to lick off yet.   “It’s amazing -- it’s cold, like snow,  only it doesn’t  melt so very quickly as snow does and -- it comes in hundreds of flavors, it was so difficult to decide which one to try -- I don’t think I’ve ever had anything quite as lovely -- have you had any?”  Wide eyes danced between Kathy, and Angel, who she ran over to, sticky fingers latching onto his hand and attempting to drag him closer to where Kathy was.  “Can we take Kathy to get some ice cream --   pleeeeease, Angel?”

angst/fluff prompt pynch #65!
Aww thank you, Anon!
65. "I brought you dinner."
CW // food
Adam Parrish looked up as a soggy take out bag was plopped in front of him, disrupting the scholarly set up he’d created for himself; notebook leaned against the table as he took notes, textbook open in front of him, highlighter marking his page.
“I brought you dinner,” came a gravelly, surly voice from behind him. Adam looked over his shoulder, pen poised over his notebook, and blinked at Ronan Lynch.
Ronan was in his sweatshirt, hands shoved in his pockets. He hadn’t said anything to Adam about leaving to get dinner. It was possible Adam hadn’t heard him, but even with only one working ear, he was pretty good at catching Ronan’s stomping and slamming.
“You should eat. You’ve been working for five fucking hours.”
Adam smile a little, putting his pen inside his notebook, and then setting his notebook aside on his textbook. He could have sniped back at Ronan about his course load, but decided for agreement instead.
“Yeah, you’re right. I am pretty hungry.”
Adam had become well-versed in the language of Ronan Lynch, and while they still butted heads from time to time, Adam was better at picking and choosing his battles. They’d been through enough already and he wasn’t going to give Ronan a hard time for showing his care for Adam.
Ronan sat down next to Adam at the table and Adam moved his books out of the way. He watched Ronan rummaging through the take out bag, doling out burgers and fries. Ronan didn’t say it, but he was one, worried about Adam and his dogged work ethic, and two, wanted to spend time with Adam since he was in DC for the long weekend.
Adam wasn’t going to begrudge Ronan the time and he did want to spend time with his boyfriend, too, especially now that they were so close again.
“Thanks,” Adam said, unwrapping his burger.
Ronan grunted, biting into his own burger.
They ate in companionable silence, Adam nudging his big toe against the top of Ronan’s foot under the table, and Ronan responding by knocking Adam’s foot aside playfully, and rubbing against Adam’s ankle.
Adam chuckled and Ronan’s eyes met his. He smiled and Adam reached out to brush a bit of ketchup from the corner of his mouth.
“How was your day?” he asked, chuckling as Ronan started in on a tirade about the hassles of maneuvering around DC.
It was the perfect evening. Adam couldn’t have asked for anything better.

Washing Away Reality
“No, no, no, no.” The single word kept falling from her lips until it stopped making sense. Nothing about this made sense. Not the strangled repetition or the blood on her hands or that damn smile cutting through the darkness of the alley. “How did you let this happen?”
“Ry—” She didn’t give him a chance to finish speaking. Her hands, her bloodied balled up fists, came down on his chest again and again.
“How the fuck did you let this happen?” she repeated. Her fingers curled into the expensive material of his shirt, already soaked through and heavier than it should be, and she dropped like her strings had been cut. Fresh blood and Gotham’s perpetual drizzle were wet against her face as she pushed against his struggling heart, and the fingers that brushed through the hair at her temples were clumsy. Bruce was many things, but he was never clumsy. She kept her face pressed against his chest as she asked, “How did this happen? I thought all your suits were bulletproof.”
“I bought a new one for date night.” He was bleeding out, he was bleeding out, and he was still holding onto the same playful tone from dinner. The teasing and promising tone that had managed to get heat to rise into her face, but now the only warmth she felt came from the blood that was flowing out of him. Out of him and onto the ground, onto her.
“I need to, have to call, ambulance.” Words tripped out as she suddenly sat up, broken strings being pulled upright, and she patted frantically at her body. At the dress she had worn because she thought Bruce would like it, for the way it hugged her skin and had hidden pockets for various weaponry. Her phone had to be somewhere.
“There’s not enough time. You know that.” He sounded so calm, and she wanted to hit him again. Wanted to hit him until her body gave out right alongside his, because how could he sound so calm and reasonable right now? Her fingers tore at a pocket seam as frustration built in her throat, and fingers pulled weakly at her wrists and forearms.
“I hate you,” she forced out between clenched teeth. When Bruce laughed, blood ran under her knees.
“No, you don’t.” He was wrong, he was wrong, he was wrong. She didn’t know it was possible to hate someone this much, to hate him because she loved him, because he was going to leave her. He was going to leave her alone. “Ryan.”
She didn’t fight as hands pulled at her, pulled her down, and she collapsed against his chest. Fell against bullet holes and ruination, with a scream locked behind her teeth. It was too dark in the alley for her to see the warm color his eyes, because Bruce always had such warm eyes even when he was frigid with anger, but she could see the blood staining his teeth as her nose nudged against his jaw. His skin was soft from a fresh shave and the rain in the air. Fingers burrowed under her hair to grip the back of her neck, and the hold was so weak. She’d seen Bruce on the edge of death before. Seen him facing down that endless darkness and spit at it. She never thought that she’d see him giving up, giving in. He was going to leave her, alone. He was going into the darkness, and she was going to be left here. In this sharp and bright world that wouldn’t be softened by his presence or bearable by his side.
“Tell me it was real.” All the time they had spent together, the anger that had burned through her and the pleasure that left her mindless, had it been real? Was she still trapped in that hospital room, wasting away and becoming nothing? Had she imagined all of this? Imagined him?
“It was real,” was whispered against her chin. It was all he had the strength for. One last promise, the closest thing she’d ever get to a declaration of love, and every ounce of warmth was ripped from her as she felt Bruce take his last breath. Her lips pressed against his skin, jaw chin lips cheek, just to feel that lingering warmth before the rain could leech it away.
It was real.
Bruce was gone.
The last surviving piece of who Ryan had been died with him, washed away like blood down an alley drain.

Spooky Scary Skeletons
Chapter: one/one
Summary: "What about a chick magnet and a chick?" Sara asked, pulling up the picture on her phone to show Ava.
"No," Ava said, scrunching up her nose in disgust.
The couple was lounging on the bed at Ava's house that night. With Sara laying on her stomach sideways across the bed and Ava leaning against the headboard with a glass of wine.
"Okay, what about a coffee barista and a frappuccino?" Sara asked.
Fandom: DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.
Relationship: Sara Lance/Ava Sharpe.
Characters: Sara Lance, Ava Sharpe, Charlie, Zari Tomaz, Mick Rory, Nora Darhk, and Ray Palmer.
Chapter Rating: General Audiences.
Additional Tags: Halloween, Costume Party, Tooth-Rotting Fluff, Avalance Halloween fun! (This is an old one but It’s not posted here so!)

……………………………………………………………………
"Hey, Sara?" Zari asked, pulling her yogurt spoon from her lips. "Can I turn the bridge into a haunted maze for the party?"
"What party?" Sara asked, sitting her oatmeal breakfast down on the table next to Ava.
It was a fairly late morning and the crew was lazy in their efforts to get up and start the day. The majority of them were still in their pajamas as they got breakfast and were not too chatty as they ate. Apart from Zari, Ray, and Ava who were always the early birds of the team.
"The Halloween party? We are having a party, right!" Zari exclaimed.
"A party?" Nate said, popping up his head from where he had been staring into his coffee.
"A party?" Ray sang, as cheerful as ever that morning.
"Oh no," Ava said, knowing exactly where this was going.
"Can we have a party?" Mona sang, perking up.
"Can I get drunk?" Mick added, smiling despite the weary look he had a moment ago.
"Can I get laid?" Charlie sang as they all broke out in song for the last verse.
"Will there be a pretty girl for me to serenade?"
"Not you too," Ava said looking over as had Nora joined in. "It’s too early for this."
"A party, a party. Can we have a party?"
"Can I get drunk? Can I get laid?"
"Will, there be a pretty girl for me to serenade?"
Ava dropped her head into her folded arms as everyone else sang the rhyme again, but Sara wrapped her arm around Ava’s shoulder giving her a quick squeeze. "All right that's enough. We can have a party, but keep it to the bridge."
"Yes!" They all shouted.
Zari pulled out her tablet and pulled up the Pinterest board she had made with all her ideas. Her enthusiasm was contagious as they all talked over each other about the drinks and decorations they wanted. Ava gave Sara a weary look knowing how out of control these things could get, but Sara just smiled and leaned in. She kissed her lips and scooted her chair closer to her.
"Relax, it’ll be fun. I promise."
"I don’t know," Ava said, still not on board with the party. "I’ve never even been tricking or treating, much less an actual Halloween party."
"All the more reason for us to do this, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it. We can dress up, have some fun food and drinks and if you’re lucky I’ll dance for you."
Ava blushed and hind her pink cheeks in Sara’s shoulder, kissing her bare skin. "Okay."
Sara leaned her head down onto Ava’s and they enjoyed the quiet moment together, despite the loud and busy conversation happening in front of them. That is, until Zari decided to try out the strobe lights and dubstep music. Causing Ava to jump and fall back in her chair.
"Zari!" Ava shouted as Sara helped her up. "A little bit of warning next time okay."
"Oops."
……………………………………………………………………
"What about a chick magnet and a chick?" Sara asked, pulling up the picture on her phone to show Ava.
"No, it just seems wrong," Ava said, scrunching up her nose in disgust.
The couple was lounging on the bed at Ava's house that night. With Sara laying on her stomach sideways across the bed and Ava leaning against the headboard with a glass of wine.
"Okay, what about a coffee barista and a frappuccino?" Sara asked.
"No, what about Marcie and Patty from Peanuts?" Ava asked showing Sara the photo she had found on her phone.
"No," Sara said, with a shake of her head. "We could do a cat lady and her cat."
"No, Mona said, she's doing that. Or something like that." Ava said, trying to think about what Mona was saying about her costume the other day.
"What about a skeleton and the grim reaper."
"No, but, what if we did Edgar Allan Poe and his raven?"
"No, what about a skeleton and a vampire!"
"No, if we're going to do a couples costume I want us to match more and why do I get the idea that all of your costumes are the sexy kind?" Ava asked looking down at Sara with her eyebrows raised.
Sara gave her a sultry smile and a wink. Ava just rolled her eyes and looked back down at her phone. It wasn't necessarily Ava’s first Halloween with Sara, but it was her first Halloween party. Last year they had just watched Halloween movies and handed out candy to trick-or-treaters and that was Ava's plan for this year as well, but Sara had never needed an excuse to dress up or to party.
"What about a pair of Beanie Babies?" Ava suggested.
"NO!" Sara yelled, rolling over onto her back and onto Ava's feet.
"Okay, Sara just admit it. You want to wear a skin tight costume, so I can try and find something we can agree on," Ava said, fed up with the current argument that was going nowhere.
"I just want to wear a sexy skin tight costume," Sara said, rolling over until she was resting in Ava's lap. "It's Halloween, I just want to have fun, get drunk, and wear a costume that has you staring at me all night."
"Okay fine," Ava said, letting her fingers run threw Sara's hair. "But I would rather wear something fun."
"Okay," Sara agreed.
They went over several options that they have been throwing at each other for the last hour. They had been having this fight all week as they tried to figure out something that they could do together. Now, they were down to the wire as it was October 30th.
"You really want to be a skeleton?" Ava asked.
"Yes," Sara said, smiling up at her.
"Okay, well I guess I could be a ghost, but like one with a white suit and hair."
Sara smiled imagining Ava in a suit with blood. She watched has Sara wiggled in excitement and got up from the bed. She went one grabbed Ava's Time Courier and opened a portal into their bedroom on the Waverider. Ava followed her threw the open portal as Sara opened the second drawer in the cabinet that was built into the wall and pulled out She held up the costume for Ava to see. It was definitely a sexy skin tight costume. It was a three piece skeleton corset, leggings, and black with white rimmed tutu.
Ava just shook her head and smiled. "Okay but now we need to get a costume for me."
……………………………………………………………………
The Halloween party was in full swing. The majority of the lights had been turned off, leaving only red and gray lights. Zari had gotten an actual smoke machine that had flooded the ground. With ghosts and skeletons hung up around the room and a vast array of spider webs crisscrossed the ceiling Zari had gone all out. Ava had already managed to get caught up in one of the spider webs and after a cup of blood punch that was heavily spiked, she was happy to sit for the rest of the party talk with Nora at one of the tables.
"Why a witch?” Ava asked Nora as she set down her yellow and black scarf on the table narrowly avoiding one of the candles set up among the pumpkins.
Nora just shrugged, "I think Ray just wanted an excuse to wear the beard and I couldn't say no."
They both looked over to where Ray was dressed as Dumbledore complete with a long white beard, standing next to the food table and talking with Nate who was dressed as Indiana Jones.
"I suppose I don't have to ask why you chose your costume,” Nora said, referring to the ghost white and gray suit that Ava was wearing along with the skull makeup and splashes of blood and cuts, before looking over to where Sara was dancing with Mona and Charlie, the white skull face makeup and bones of her costume glowed in the dark light. Accenting the low cut corset and short skirt.
"It’s what she wanted."
Nora laughed and Ava rolled her eyes at her friend, looking back at Sara. She caught Ava’s eye and now was purposely dancing seductively until Charlie pulled her aside and they went over can grab another drink.
"We’re not whipped," Ava said looking back at Nora.
"No absolutely not," Nora said with a shake of her head and a frown on her lips, as she quickly took another sip of her drink.
"Yeah, of course not," Ava said shaking your head too fast.
They took one look at each other and burst out into a fit of giggles. They both knew that they were head over heels for their partners.
"Hey, did you finish the book club book?" Ava asked thinking about the Halloweenish, boy wizard book set in England. Mona had been appalled when both of them admitted they had never read it.
"Yes," Nora said reaching over and slapping Ava's arm. "And you should too it's actually pretty good. "
"I know," Ava said frowning at the thought. "I just read the first few pages, but it was just dull and childish and the way his family treats him…"
"It gets better," Nora said. "And you know how disappointed Mona is going to be."
"What's going to disappoint me?" Mona asked appearing at their table out of breath I'm dancing but smiling, complete with cute cat whiskers headband and cat ears.
"The fact that we didn't save you any of Lady Bird Johnson's pecan pie," Nora said, quickly covering and trying her best to not look guilty.
"Oh that's okay," Mona said, waving them off. "Besides I've already had three pieces of pumpkin pie, it's my true favorite."
"I'll have to remember that for Thanksgiving," Ava said with a smile.
Mona squealed and did a whole body wiggle. "I love the holidays! Now come on you have to come dance with me."
She grabbed both Nora and Avas’ arms ignoring their whines and groans of protest as she dragged them onto the dance floor.
Ava barely lasted for fifteen minutes, before she was making up an excuse that she was thirsty and headed for the drinks that were set up on the table in the parlor. It was a bit better lit than the rest of the bridge, although not by much. Ava almost tripped over Charlie who was crouched over on the floor with a broom and dustpan picking up shards of glass. Ava looked over the mess and grabbed a rag to help whipped up the spilled drinks.
"Are you all right?"
"Yeah, Charlie nodded. “It's just those fancy glasses Zari insisted on using. They just shatter the second they hit the floor."
"Are those part of the decorations?" Ava said looking closer to see the outline of bloody footprints leading out of the room.
"Oh bullocks. It must be from Sara, she said she was gonna go get the vacuum."
"I'm going to go check on her."
There was a heavy trail of blood from mostly side or heel footprints and Ava's worry grew as she followed them over to the bathroom across the hall, rather than to the Med-Bay where Sara should have gone. They stopped at the door to the bathroom and she quickly knocked.
"Hey Sara, it's me honey. Can you open the door?"
The door to the bathroom slid open to reveal Sara on the other side of the bathroom. She was sitting on the edge of the tub with one foot resting on her other knee underneath a towel.
"Thank you Gideon,” Sara said.
Ava stepped into the bathroom and followed the blood trail. When she saw the small pool of blood on the towel, she quickly rushed over, kneeling down next to Sara and taking a look at her foot.
"It's not as bad as it looks,” Sara assured her.
Ava wasn't quite so sure. Sara's whole foot was bloody with thousands of tiny pieces of glass shards embedded across the sole of her foot. Sara grabbed a small piece of glass out of her toe with a pair of tweezers and dropped it into a bowl to her left. Ava grabbed the edge of the towel and tried to lightly press it against the blood that gushed from the now open wound.
"We have to go to the Med-Bay,” Ava said looking up at her.
"No," Sara began to protest.
"Sara," Ava said grabbing her hand and gave it a squeeze. "You're bleeding quite profusely and at this rate, it's going to take at least an hour to get all this glass out."
"That was what I advised the Captain to do as well," Gideon sniped at her.
Sara rolled her eyes at both of them.
"I saw that," Gideon said.
"No, I'd rather do it myself, I'll go to the Med-Bay after I get everything out," Sara said taking out another piece of glass.
Ava just shook her head and looked back down at Sara’s foot. She got up and went over to the cabinet, grabbing another towel and bring it over. Sara switched it out with the drenched bloody towel and Ava took it straight to the trash shoot. Ava knew Sara wouldn't listen to anyone's medical advice but her own. Even if it meant withstanding a significant amount of pain and blood loss.
Ava sat down next to Sara and loosely wrapped up her foot in the new towel as carefully as possible, before pulling one arm under her knees and the other behind Sara’s back and picking her up.
"Ava what the... Put me down," Sara protested wiggling in her arms, but Ava just held onto Sara tighter as Gideon open the door for them.
"Sara, it's not going to kill you to just go to the Med-Bay straight away," Ava said, as she walked down the hall.
Sara let out a long drawn out and dramatic sigh but, she stopped wiggling and put one arm around Ava's neck.
"You don't have to carry me, you know, I can hop."
"I know," Ava said with a smile. "But one must always carry their damsel in distress."
Sara laughed at that and leaning up to kiss Ava’s collarbone, since she couldn't quite reach her lips.
When they reached the Med-Bay Ava set Sara down and snapped the bracelet around her wrist. Gideon quickly got to work on Sara's foot, as the robot arms came out and took multiple pieces a glass out at once. The bleeding hadn’t stopped but, Gideon applied a mist over the wounds and it was slowing down. Ava watched as Sara relaxed back into the chair, before lazily looking over at Ava with an easy smile.
"Gideon? Did you drug Sara?"
"Of course, I gave Captain Lance something for the pain as well as a light sedative that I give to all my difficult patients. It should wear off within a few minutes."
Ava couldn't help but laugh, especially when Sara pouted at her so adorably.
"It's not funny," Sara said.
Ava didn't respond, she just leaned in and kissed Sara, reveling in the fact that she quickly smiled against Ava's lips.
Gideon was quick and efficient, as soon as the robot hands disappeared back into the walls Sara sat up and pulled her foot back to inspect it. All the glass and blood were gone leaving only fresh new pink skin.
"Thank you Gideon," Ava said, briefly looking away from Sara and up to the ceiling. "Ah hem?"
Ava nudged Sara who prodded the new skin of her sole. "Yeah, thanks Gid."
"You’re welcome Captain."
"Ready to go back to the party?" Sara asked looking up at her.
Ava’s face betrayed her with a disgruntled look, she leaned down and rested her elbows and upper body on the chair.
"Not a fan of the party?"
"It’s fun, it’s just not really my thing, but I know it’s your thing, so we can go back for a little while longer."
Sara leaned forward and placed a kiss on Ava’s forehead. "It’s okay, I’m kinda partied out too. It’s not as fun as it was when I was 20."
Ava giggled and got back up, she held out her hand. "Want to go home, watch a movie, and hand out candy to all the cute kids."
Sara grabbed her hand and swung her legs around. She stood up and let Ava pull her in for a kiss, that was soft and sweet as they melted into their lips.
"I’m gonna go grab some candy and some wine and I’ll meet you back at the house," Sara said smoothing out the lapel of Ava’s suit.
"After you put on shoes!" Ava insisted.
"Of course."
Sara smiled and kissed Ava again, before untangling herself from Ava’s arms. She walked out the door, but not before she stopped, she held onto the door frame and winked at her. Teasing Ava with a shake of her tutu-clad butt before she disappeared.
Ava let out a breath as the heat rose in her cheeks and programed the Time Courier that was around her wrist. She opened a portal and stepped into the dark living room. She pulled out her phone and used it to turn on the lamp lights and start the fire. She ran upstairs and stripped out of her suit costume, and into a pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt. Ava was relieved to be able to wipe away the heavy makeup and went back downstairs.
After grabbing two wine glasses and pulling up Beetlejuice on the tv, she heard the sound of the portal opening behind her and turned to see Sara walking in. She had traded her corset for a skeleton shit, but kept the tutu and tights, and had also wiped her face clean. Sara held up the bottle of wine and a bowl of candy that she placed on the table in the hall, then flicked on the porch light and walked back over to her. Ava reached out her arms and Sara ran up to her, Ava picked her up with ease as Sara wrapped her legs around her waist.
Sara giggled as Ava sat down on the couch with Sara in her lap and relaxed back into the cushions. Sara leaned forward and poured them each a glass of wine as Ava started the movie. They both settled in as the movie started and Ava couldn’t help but sigh in content.
"This is nice, Thank you," Ava said looking down and Sara. Sometimes she was so overwhelmed by how much she loved this woman. She felt like she was floating on cloud nine when Sara smiled at her.
Which she did, Sara smiled and kissed her lips. "I’m happy anywhere you are."
Ava kissed her again and they settled in to watch the movie. However, the quiet didn’t last long as the doorbell rang.
Sara eagerly jumped up and ran to the door with Ava trailing behind her. She leaned against the wall as she watched Sara open the door and great the kids, giving them each a handful of candy and complemented their costumes. This, a quite domestic holiday with Sara, this was perfect.

Just wanted to ask if you have any West Wing WIPs that you haven’t published yet, or if quarantine has inspired any thought bunnies for that fandom?
You know, I honestly couldn’t really remember, so I looked through the massive pile of files I just have sitting open under the OpenOffice tab on my taskbar. I often leave little bits of things there, sometimes for months, just restoring whenever my computer reboots unexpectedly. Because I am ORGANIZED! Anyway, back near the beginning of quarantine, I put out a call for prompts and an Anon asked for Josh and Donna hooking up in Season One. That’s a tall order, but I thought I’d give it a go. I got one scene in and pooped out on it, but the scene itself was kind of fun. I’m not gonna edit or proofread or anything, but here it is for your reading pleasure. This is set right after the Pilot.
.........
It was after eleven by the time Josh got off the phone, and he wasn't sure when he'd ever been more exhausted. Sleeping at his desk had not been a great prelude to this day from hell. He was nonetheless contemplating a second round of it when his office door opened and Donna slipped in. She was carrying a cup of coffee.
“Donna,” he began warningly, then trailed off as she took a sip from the cup herself and smirked at him. He made a show of rolling his eyes as he tipped back in his chair, but it was a relief to have at least this one thing back to normal. “What are you still doing here?”
“You weren't finished,” she pointed out. “Who do you think has been queuing up your telephonic apology tour for you?”
“I dunno, maybe Satan?” he grumped. “It's almost worse than reading the want ads.”
“No it's not,” she reminded him. “And it was kind of worth it just to see President Bartlet shove some Old Testament right down the throats of those God-botherers, wasn't it?”
That pulled a little smile from him. “Yeah, that was pretty great,” he allowed.
“But I can't help but think that “honor thy father and mother” is the fifth commandment,” Donna pointed out.
Josh relaxed a little more, putting his hands behind his head as he tilted the chair to a reclining angle. “Yeah, but Toby's decided that the Ten Commandments needed a second pass by the editor. The first three could apparently all be lumped into one for the sake of brevity. I told him the Seven Commandments just didn't sound as catchy, but he just reminded me I'm from Westport again.”
“I'm not sure we're allowed to edit the Ten Commandments,” Donna said dubiously. “I won a trip to Wisconsin Dells for memorizing Bible verses three summers in a row, and they were not big on extemporizing.”
Josh waved a dismissive hand. “Arguing with the scripture is a fundamental tenet of Judaism. Toby wouldn't be happy if he couldn't nitpick.”
“I guess if I were Jewish, I wouldn't have gotten in nearly so much trouble in Sunday school,” Donna mused.
“Well yeah, Sunday's when you sleep in,” Josh shot back. “Anyway, why didn't you go home when everyone else did? I know the overtime pay here isn't worth it.”
She shrugged one shoulder and gave him that shy little smile, the one where she tilted her chin down like she had a secret. “I dunno, it just seemed like a good night to stick around,” she told him. “We both had a long day, I figured we could finish it out together.” She raised an eyebrow, “I mean, I wasn't expecting it to be tomorrow by the time you finished...”
Josh snorted. “Nag, nag, nag,” he teased, even as he haphazardly piled papers on his desk. “Fine, we'll leave before midnight, are you happy?”
“Ecstatic,” she assured him, rising to fix the piles as quickly as he could make them, setting aside the files he'd want for his backpack. He wasn't sure how she knew, but her guesses were very rarely mistaken. “When's the last time you ate anything?”
He paused to consider that, then sighed. “Fine, I'll go to Pat's, they serve until one on weeknights. Come with me,” he added impulsively.
She looked up, both eyebrows rising this time. “What?”
“Come on, I bet you didn't eat either,” he pointed out. “If I send you home like this, you're going to eat one of those nasty frozen diet meals and be crabby about it tomorrow. Anyway, you brought me coffee so I need to balance the cosmic scales somehow.”
“The cosmic scales?” Donna asked, amused. “Is that one of the lesser-known commandments?”
“How should I know?” he retorted. “There's six hundred-some of them, and I sure didn't win any trips to the Wisconsin Dells when I was a kid. Probably something in there about feeding your assistant.”
“I should look that up.” By the time he'd finished packing up, Donna had straightened up her desk and pulled a sweater on over her blouse. The days were barely cool lately, but the nights still got chilly. He swung on his suitcoat and picked up his backpack to join her.  As they walked, he automatically put one hand on the small of her back, absently guiding her through the many twists and turns of the darkened bullpen and out through the lobby.
Even through the sweater, he could feel the warmth of her skin under his palm, and for the millionth time reminded himself to ignore it. It was harder, though, when it was just the two of them like this, stepping out of the darkness into a DC night so late that they might as well have been the only people between Lafayette Square and the Ellipse. On a night like this maybe he could take her hand, maybe he could touch her hair. Maybe, maybe. With the barest pressure of his fingertips, he steered her towards his car in the parking lot. As they walked past the gate, he saw the shadow of the security guard in his booth, heard footsteps from some late-night pedestrian just beyond the fence. Probably not.
