I'm so sorry for the late reply! I haven't checked this blog in ages... I'm not in a asoiaf mood these days. The server still exists, yes! It's in some sort of hiatus now since the hotd season ended, but we show up in there from time to time to chat.

Do you have a commission for me?

If it's a personal use commission (AKA something for your own enjoyment, to post on socials, for a D&D game with your friends...) I only open personal commission slots once I'm done with all my previous ones. I'm currently working through a backlog, so it might take a little time! If you'd like to know when they open, you can sign up to my newsletter and you'll be notified first before they're open to the public!

If it's a commercial project (books, album covers, games, podcasts, or anything you plan to profit from) please email me at valdevia.art@gmail.com and tell me more about your project, budget, and schedule! I'll always adapt my prices to the client (eg. I won't charge the same to an indie band than to an established musician with a record label!) so even if you're not sure, ask me anyway!

If your commission idea is just something in my style you'd like to see (body horrors, spec bio, cosmic horrors, angels and eldritch entities falling in love...) feel free to just reach out and tell me! If your idea is cool enough I might just let you skip the line, give you a cheaper commission slot or turn it into an art trade! :)

yes! in my baka head there are absolutely some parallels between them. the co-dependency, the "he's more myself than i am" vibes, the endless conflict while being fatally drawn to each other... and in my personal opinion there's also a strong spiritual component in cathy and heathcliff's love. it's a merge of souls and minds more than bodies. that's why it survives after both their deaths. and so imo is lila&lenù's relationship, which may not be traditional romantic love (tho imo there *is* a strong subtext of something in their dynamic) but it's more than a simple friendship. they're literally two halves of the same being, fated soulmates, opposites who complete each other... which, actually, is pretty romantic.

Colour: Dark green or dark blue! Ideal is that phtalo green color honestly

Entertainment: One of Wyn's guilty pleasures wrt her station is that she actually really loves professional live music. She isn't much of a theater person, but she has a singular love for orchestra or ballet performances, and absolutely has invited wannabe suitors out to see a show strictly as an excuse to make the trip. (And if she genuinely likes them? Well, those boxes ARE pretty dark...)

Pastime: Hiking, especially when it takes her out to scenic locales that she can paint. Painting was always her preferred excuse for carving out some time alone, and she much preferred the effort of getting OUT somewhere over hiding away in her studio. It was always too easy for someone to interrupt her at the family house.

Food: Poached pears, especially over yogurt or some kind of vanilla custard. Sprinkle some cinnamon granola over them and Wyn is in heaven.

Drink: A strong roasted oolong tea, or coffee. She's fine with alcohol when the situation calls for it - and admittedly, there have been MANY situations lately that have called for it - but she still mostly prefers the company of a drink with a different kind of bite.

— HAVE THEY...

Passed University: Technically no, but Wyn did get something close to a university education. Her parents were insistent that she be well-schooled, even if they wouldn't let her follow her brother to one of the actual colleges.

Had Sex: Enthusiastically, yes.

Had Sex in Public: Not really. Wyn has gotten a little handsy in public, sure, but she still requires a closed door when clothes start coming off.

Got Tattoos: Not yet, but she's not opposed to the idea.

Got Piercings: Quite a few ear piercings, but that's it. So far, anyway.

Got Scarred: Yes! Wyn has a nasty one where her neck joins her shoulder from a fight with one of the Viscountesses that got out of hand.

Had a Broken Heart: Oh, big time. Wyn learned early how to spot potential suitors who were only trying to use her as a status upgrade, or were just interested in a turn with the local devilspawn, but there was one lad who showed a genuine attraction to her, and Wyn began spending a lot of time with him. Unfortunately, he was also deeply ashamed of that attraction, and put a lot of effort into hiding their courtship from, uh, everyone that he could. Wyn dropped him the moment she found out, but her affection for him had been genuine too, and she spent a good long while afterwards nursing her hurt feelings.

— ARE THEY...

A Cuddler: More than she would ever admit. Wyn holds herself at a certain distance from most people unless she has petitioned them for an evening, but given time to cultivate some trust, she is extremely physically affectionate. She likes to be the big spoon. :>

Scared Easily: Of certain things, yes. Wyn is easily put off by wanton violence, and people that are capable of it tend to scare her pretty badly, but things like ghosts? Monsters? Death? It takes quite a lot of effort for things like THAT to get to her.

Jealous Easily: Not unless she has been given due cause to believe that something truly does belong to her. She tends not to covet items or skills very much, and she doesn't really lay claim to people often enough to be called easily jealous, but she WILL defend whatever has been deemed unequivocally hers.

Trustworthy: M...mostly... Wyn doesn't often choose to break covenant with people, but she might go into a bargain with the intention of betrayal. That is NOT outside of the realm of possibility. Usually, though, she's true to her word.

— FAMILY...

Siblings: Her late brother, Atticus. He was her favorite person in the whole wide world, and she tried to move heaven and earth to bring him back.

Parents: Her mother and father, Analyn and Maxim Bannon, who Wyn has a...strained relationship with. She's pretty sure they're not looking for her.

Children: Actively not something Wyn is trying to pursue. She's already been told that she's going to die early, and even if she wanted children, she wouldn't subject them to that.

Pets: Never something that was allowed in the Bannon household. I don't know if Wyn would have even asked. She does hold a special reserve of fondness for the party wizard's familiar, a raven aptly named Lenore, which is probably as close as Wyn will ever get to a proper pet.

Currently on Episode 14 and of the opinion that Beau is amazing, lol. Keeps smacking Artha for me. XD

Honestly though, me and said friend along with two others are having fun building off of what we've all dug up to create our own version of the world to build storylines in and it's been so much fun!

Yes! Good! Loving Beau is always the correct answer, Artha is of course up to personal preference, but Beau Love is universal.

YES! ALSO GOOD! Go on and frolic! As someone who's entire creative style has been informed by Dragon Booster, from my writing to my art style, KEEP IT UP. The world needs more creative minds influenced by the stylings of the DB crew. Their legacy must live on, so I wish you and your friend all the joy in your work!

As you can see, this dragon god OC from one of my original stories is not at all inspired by anyone's magnificent chin. Nope, not in the slightest.

Angel pressed himself into the Overlord, wandering hands smoothing over Val's exposed chest and fisting into the soft fur of his ruff. Val's saliva was already making him feel loose and fuzzy, and between the drug and the passionate kiss, Angel's grip of the moth's neck fur was becoming more and more necessary to keep his balance. Tongue over tongue, the pinch of sharp teeth at his soft bottom lip - Angel whined. This was what he needed.

hey, I saw that you and your friend got some unwarranted nonsense for your lore posts on Marika. I thought it was nice to see people give Marika some agency for once.

Thank you for a message, and support, I suppose; I am glad that you liked the analysis and takes themselves.

Honestly, the whole thing was really unfair to Val. That post was not even about Marika, it just tangentially involved her! @val-of-the-north was addressing the situation of people seeing Marika as that noble hero who was up to rid the world of "Hornsent's evil" and making the world better by only obliterating the filth that ruins it of sorts. Correctly pointing out how much injustice and cruelty happened under her reign, caused or allowed! Yesterday I've made a post ( x ) about Marika that is the best reflection of mine and Val's opinion on her! Sounds rather humanising and positive even all things considered, right? And the reason why Val did not do a giant disclaimer explaining how Marika is not 100% cruel monster was because that post was not! about! her!

And yet, imagine how VAL was feeling. The original reblogger maybe earned (my) disrespect by admitting they hated any interpretation of Marika and Messmer that weren't their, as well as using an oddly specific made up story as a proof, but on conceptual level, it is not wrong to start a debate! Debates are good, debates are healthy, debates are vaccine against being stuck in hostile echo-chambers believing you are superior and others are "media illiterate weirdos"! They were switching goals wildly like a bunny making its traces on the snow a labyrinth, BUT, it was fun to double-check Marika's lore there! But it stopped being okay when another person faaaaaaar not Val's size got involved and not only made it some sort of 'affirmation', but then also continued to mock his post as aNoThEr CaNcEr tO MaRiKaS jOy before their followers uncritically approving of everything they say! I know I should not act like he or me are special, because this is just a constant in any fandom/community!

Imagine that big, radiant, loved by everyone artist with more followers than there are people in your country, whose creativity and presence stands in the fandom seen from every spot much like the notorious Erdtree itself, for the first time having a direct interaction with you...... only to unfairly write you down as "just another Marika hater" and "part of the problem in the fandom" with "a post so bad they wish they could remove it from the addition" pure upon virtue of agreeing with their biased subjective vision. In front. Of their. Huge. Fanbase. When they also didn't even read the post and admitted to not even loredig. (Why do you think you can be the judge whether someone's lore is right or wrong when you do not even research it? Seriously why?) There are very vitriol-filled posts about Marika that do not offer any nuance, yet from my knowledge, they only ever earned vagueblogs? Just getting readsomewhered, as 'some weird takes I've seen'? But it was a fair, researched post, dealing only with facts, that earned the "honor" of directness?

Besides, it was rich saying the post was wrong and better be removed to only keep the addition, when the post was about people approving of Hornsent genocide! And the reblog of disagreement that made it about Marika..... justified Hornsent genocide. So, proven Val's point, hilariously? Literal Queelign behavior, all. 🤦‍♂️
