I've been thinking about this a lot for the past few days but...

I don't think Wilhelm admitting it was him in the video would have worked?

Let me explain

The queens first thoughts about this scandal was damage control, how to make this go away and stop people from thinking that it was Wilhelm, the Crown Prince of Sweden, in the video

She even has an interviewer hand picked already, Mrs. Rosenqvist

The queen even goes as far as saying that we can trust her

But that's not right, because at the end of the day, she's the queen, and her word comes first and is more important, not Wilhelms

On the way to the palace we see quite clearly that Wilhelm doesn't want to do the interview or say anything, he just wants to be with Simon, that's his motivation to tell his mum all this

But the queen yet again reminds him that no, that that is not possible, being a Crown Prince is a privilege and that he still too young to know anything about love

So she reminds him: "We have one chance to make this go away. I urge you to take it"

I wouldn't go as far as saying that this was a veiled threat, but like I said earlier, her words hold more power than Wilhelms, it's her who they are going to listen to more intently than a 16 year old boy

We then see the interviewer, Mrs Rosenqvist, but there aren't any cameras that will record him, just another person taking pictures of Wilhelm

So now we know that the interview will most likely be published as an article, as we later find out when Ayub reads it out loud

So what would've happened if Wilhelm said that it was him? Would it have been published?

In my opinion, no

At least, not the one with Wilhelms answers, the real one

I think that if Wilhelm had said that it was him or talked about Simon, that the queen would've paid the interviewer to change the answer or give her the rehearsed answer that Wilhelm should have given

Because all she wants is for him to deny it, nothing else, that's her priority as Queen

I'd even say that she would've done this behind his back, let him admit it and finish the interview, and then approach Mrs. Rosenqvist and paid her to change the answer, since they can trust her like she said earlier to him

She wouldn't stop the interview because that's not what a queen does, obviously, but she doesn't want Wilhelm to know so that he wouldn't do any more mistakes as she puts it, like say something on social media before the article goes out

I mean, I obviously have no idea how the monarchy works but I just don't see the queen letting him admit it was him, she would do anything it takes so that their image stays intact, because that's her priority numero uno
