the fucking implications of porter (in the finale preview) talking abt how the bk were screwed over by aguefort while in front of the rat grinders. like one of these groups he somewhat likes and the other are disposable pawns. the tragedy of the rat grinders are that for everything that they stood for (equity/equality) is still not on their side in the end!! they haven't become the heroes, they've become the goon squad to the major BBEG!!!

If andor season 2 wanted to explore genocide I think one of the most haunting notes it could have struck is to have an entire arc set in Alderaan that was not actually about Alderaan. It could have shown the markets, the schools, the students arguing about whether or not it’s a waste of four more years of their life to do a masters, the brewers and vintners proud of their wines aging in their casks and the builders planning new housing developments and the conductors and writers creating new art. It could have been about the flowers alderaanians are growing in their gardens and the fancy cocktails they mix up in shakers and sip on garden terraces and it could have been about Alderaanian school children in their uniforms with space!backpacks bouncing on their back racing to class and teenagers skipping school and coughing over their first death stick, about fishermen and farmers, bored bureaucrats and irritable divorcees and pie in the sky poets writing terrible poetry and people who were self absorbed and ordinary and human. It could have been about the rings on their fingers and the shoes on their feet and their holy books and comic books and the tiles on their floor and the five billion people who lived there.
and then the camera backs away. Back to the war. Back to the violence. Nothing more said. On his final mission to the rings of cafrene cassian wants to steady his nerves, turns on the radio to a jolly alderaanian bolero, the announcer cuts off to announce the quarterfinal results of the Alderaanian junior sabacc championships, with the semifinals in a week, the finals in another, the winner (sponsored by Fraank’s Longaniza Factory) will receive as 2000 credit voucher to a fencing company. Anyway here are the names of the competitors ranking eight we have raool farias age seventeen ranking seven we have kmala hanian age sixteen ranking six we have maraa tchana….
the rings of kafene come into view, cassian shuts the transmission, the story continues without anymore being said
(The thing that Andor could have said about the victims of genocide is that they were not invented in the moment of the genocide nor in the moment of the murder nor in the memorialzation after. They were killed. They lived.)

I have had A Thought.
Dick/Tim/etc. time travels and has to decide whether to save Wayne parents: really angsty and ethics-y, and complicated time-space continuum-y.
Dick/Tim/etc. time travels to directly after Wayne parents are already killed and can comfort the scared little boy that Bruce never really stopped being: still a little angsty, but more hurt/comfort, more sweet, more opportunity for reflecting on relationships & giving back what was given to them. Can go home feeling a little bittersweet but like they did something important.

"Narcissa your exhausted, why don't you take a nap?"
It was Regulus, but that wasn't right-
"Seriously Cissa, your exhausted, I'll take Draco for a bit and you can relax at the very least."
Then her baby cousin was coming out from behind her and taking the fussy toddler into his arms. Regulus, with an ease she never expects from the younger boy, starts bouncing and cooing at the blonde bundle in his arms.
Draco was nearly two now but was still so clingy, he would grab onto anyone he could and just hold on for hours. Normally it was just about Narcissa's favorite thing but her and Lucius have been fighting lately and she's just been so alone and-
She must doze for a while because when she wakes she sees her two favorite boys playing out in the garden. Regulus sweeps a giggling Draco up into his arms and swings him around. The youngest Black brother smiles more these days and always has a grin around his godson and Draco always smiles back at him. He sets the little boy back on his on two feet, the tot manages to stand on his own for a moment before collapsing into a pile of giggles.
Dropping to his knees Regulus blows bubbles into the squirming toddlers stomach, making a real show of it to. Draco all flying limbs and clumsy fists but still manages to escape his laughing uncles clutches and starts sprinting towards the house screaming "Mummy uncle Reggie is mean! MUMMY-"
And then Narcissa wakes up.
Draco is still screaming, Lucius is nowhere to be found, and Regulus is dead.

mickey smith my beloved... local man keeps getting dragged into alien bullshit against his will because of he cares so much about his childhood best friend/situationship/girlfriend/ex and her mom that he can't let them deal with it alone. he's also full of enough spite to power a small city-state. he's a mechanic. he's a murder suspect. he's fought aliens. he was in a band. he's hacked into government databases. he runs a conspiracy theory website with the widow of the guy who told rose about the doctor. he plays the bass guitar. he's canonically bisexual or gay in at least two alternate universes. he's frenemies with his (ex) girlfriend's mom. his cabinets contain enough pickled goods to stock a fallout shelter. he successfully infiltrated a top-secret government organization pretending to be a scientist. his girlfriend left him for a shapeshifting alien. he's legally dead in two worlds. he saved the universe multiple times. he's a tin dog

honestly I think that whatever the Winter King did to transfer his insanity was an accident. not necessarily something that came out of nowhere, but more… he was trying to do one thing and then suddenly he felt a lot more clearheaded

Episode 100.. soon.
#milestone in the anime. ep written by kureha matsuzawa. rvt show up. potential friede hint. too much happening at once-#i am nervous because if we're getting something about friede we might as well get something about amethio too#we've hit the midpoint of the chapter where we should get an update about him too since the story will move further in a new direction#and something about liko and amethio constantly intertwined in their respective journeys. much to think about!#kinda drives me insane because literally everything is set up in a way to make us think that#friede and amethio went missing at the same time on their way back to rakua. hey noticed how they disappeared together. hey did you notice-#i am noticing. i am paying attention. my attention is fully on that plot point. i will keep mentioning their similar narrative positions.#what happened it's so suspicious.. are they somehow cooperating on some level. i am gonna need answers i can't live like this#this is written and crafted in a way to make our thoughts reach a specific conclusion but. i am still going to need to wait for answers#either way. i am very pleased by the parallels and writing.. it's so good.#if we get some update on friede.. i do wonder how he would have survived the fall. did a pkmn or a human help him. hm.#it's getting dire i do actually hope we'll get notable elements to think about before the end of the first cour#also now that we've reached that point in the arc. i don't really think liko will know about amethio's disappearance#current train of thought is that i can't see it being brought up around her in a natural way.#not sure what it could add either.#it's something i need to think about more. and need more specific wording to talk about#in fact it's a bit like how the events at the end of ep 65 aren't things liko needed to be aware of (amethio being banished)#that's the closest comparison i can think of. it reminds me a bit of that. not necessarily things that need to be brought up#anyway.. excited about ep 100. liko.. possibly friede.. possibly other characters?#need to hear spinel talk too. can he say something in that beautiful voice of his :/#hz100#episode notes

Thinking about Marie Ladon (under cut for major spoilers through Lord Hornblower)
Contemplating Marie as proxy for what couldn't be with Bush/Hornblower trying to understand his own emotions towards Bush. It's unclear to me what parts of Marie are real and what parts are not; the entire sequence at Graçay is dreamlike to begin with, and the second time Hornblower visits, in Lord Hornblower, it feels equally so. Marie is also a deeply idealized character who seems to understand Hornblower's every need and meet his every want; but we know not to trust the internal monologue at all, and when Marie does actually break through it in a few rare moments, she does seem to be a very different sort of character - the same is also true of Barbara, but Forester is a bit more obvious about it. The thing about Marie is that not only does she only appear in these out-of-the-world, in-between spaces in the narrative, often in a very overly-perfect way, but she also appears at points where Bush and Hornblower's relationship has taken significant turns and Forester only partially elaborates on it. In particular, Bush and Hornblower become very close on the way to Graçay, and appear to have grown even closer upon leaving it (and there are distinctly romantic-adjacent comments on both sides of this sojourn), while on Hornblower's second trip to France, he has lost Bush and clearly been deeply affected by the loss - in fact, it causes a rift between him and Barbara which he deepens by seeking out Marie. There are parallels there in death as well, with both characters dying in the same book - Hornblower lives out death first with Bush at a distance, then again up close with Marie. They move in odd tandem with each other, and while Marie often appears out of nowhere and takes center-stage, Bush always looms large in the background with a longer, more emotionally-wrought storyline that can never quite come to fruition.
I wonder, then, if there is something to be said for Marie as a sort of narrative device for Hornblower's relationship with Bush. She's not that relationship directly, but instead almost a way of processing it - processing the raw desire in Flying Colours, or processing death and grief and a lost illicit relationship which might be far happier than any legally-sanctioned one. She stands in for what Hornblower can't say, and she lets him process and fail to process his ghosts. I'm not quite sure where to go from there, but I think that it's interesting how she serves to act out the things which Hornblower otherwise doesn't dare to say; in Marie there are the echoes of what Hornblower and Bush are, or could be.

allow me to ramble for a second. just finished playing resident evil revelations 2 and i have some Thoughts
i think a lot of this game was what re6 wanted to be. i like the progression of the plot and the fact that the story is told from two perspectives at two different points in time.
i REALLY liked claire's campaign over barry's tbh. barry felt like more of a flat character, although i may be a little biased from playing through re2 remake many many times.
i also am not a huge fan of how claire kinda felt like she was just. there? like i would say that the two protagonists are claire and barry, but barry felt like he was more important to the narrative than claire was. i think it's a similar problem that the original version of re4 had, where leon felt like the guy you played as and less like the main character. the remake fixed this a LOT though, and i hope if they do remake revelations 2, they integrate claire into the narrative more

So yeah I realise that Holland is some kind of megalomaniacal psychopath. A Machiavelli ‘ends justify the means’ dictator. But he better have some other kind of ‘I hope they all die’ motivation, because his logic of ‘we have to restore order!’ by just murdering everyone and doing all he can to sew chaos and start riots makes him look incredibly stupid. Please let him not be an idiot.
