WIP#3

ever just re-read the whole WBK series, get the insatiable hunger to read fanfics to carry on your binge, don't find the fics you want, get an idea of the exact fic you want, then stare at your WIP in shame as you open a new WIP?

I feel like I just betrayed myself and the people waiting for an update on my WIP. I promise it's not abandoned ;-; I've just been experiencing perfection paralysis LMAO

anyway, it's a two chapter fic and I've got one chapter basically finished :D here's a sneak peak:

Summary:

The irony isn’t lost on Kotoha as she drags Sakura’s deadweight to the convenience store, that a year after they met— a year after he saves her for the first time —he has once again saved her from a creep. Except this time the stakes are higher, Sakura’s drugged, Kotoha is not in Makochi and whoever roofied Sakura is still after them. (Sakura will be having words with whoever invented drugs.)

Chapter 1:

Her phone rings once and Umemiya picks up her call, “Kotoha what’s up? Why are you calling me at…” she hears shuffling on the other side of the call, “2:30am?”

Keeping her breathing steady, Kotoha leans into Sakura like a clingy girlfriend to hide her phone squished between her head and shoulder. 

“Onii-chan,” Kotoha hears Umemiya inhale sharply at that, and her heart skips a beat when she hears the crinkling of a can rolling behind them. “We’re going to reach the 7/11 near Orion Stars in five minutes please,” she pauses to steady herself when her voice cracks slightly, “come pick us up.”

All she hears on the other end is the sound of wind blowing before Umemiya speaks up again, “us?” It sounds like he’s sprinting.

Looking up into Sakura’s glassy eyes, guilt weighs heavily on her tongue and she manages, “Sakura came to pick me up but I think he got roofied.”

Umemiya swears and Kotoha almost falls over when Sakura suddenly lists to one side gagging. Slinging his hand over her shoulders, she slips her other hand around his back to rub soothing circles.

Her focus on Sakura is the only thing that stops her from flinching when she hears muffled chuckles from down the alley. 

“Do not hang up. I’ll be right there, do you hear me Kotoha?” Kotoha’s heart clenches tightly at the way Umemiya’s voice shakes at her name. She hums in response as Sakura dry heaves into the pavement.

Jamming her phone into her back pocket, Kotoha holds back Sakura’s fringe as he retches again. “I’m so sorry Sakura,” Kotoha whispers at the pained wince on the boy’s face.

Turning to frown, no, squint at her— he can’t see properly her mind shrieks at her —Sakura mumbles some complaint or objection at her apology and presses a hand to his eyes.

“'oto…ha,” she hears him struggle. Not daring to look behind her, Kotoha steels herself and hauls Sakura up to have a better grip on the taller boy. Arms tensing and heart racing, she half-drags half-guides Sakura down the road, momentarily surprised by how light he is.

They need to put some distance between their stalkers and them, now.

Turns out Mournville has enough of its own, locally sourced demons to haunt her all winter. Will the town's veterinarian, Doctor Volkarin, be able to dispel some of that darkness? Can Osla keep him safe?

What if Dragon Age was Stardew Valley? But make it horror? What then? Work fully drafted, posting as I edit.

next update: 14th-20th of July I'm on vacation but chapter 11 is in the works! The blog runs on the queue in the meantime.

Wip Tuesday ✨ tagged by the ever-amazing @lovebillyhargrove who is a doll and lol just realized I copy pasta'd their really sweet message.

I am so late to the party as usual, but happy to share some teases.

WIP 1: Billy did not make it home before lunch, or to escort Steve to the church as he’d hoped. In fact, Billy was in danger of being very late to meet the preacher and Robin Buckley was entirely to blame.

WIP 2: Steve is worried Billy Hargrove may be his soulmate. It consumes his thoughts, and yet he still has figured out a way forward by the time the bonfire begins. Maybe he's panicking over nothing and the reason he can't stop thinking about Hargrove is like pink elephants - the harder he tries not to think about Billy the more he's going to. And they're not soulmates and Steve is just freaking himself out over a few coincidences. They go to the same school. Of course they bump into each other. It doesn't have to mean anything. The trouble is he has no idea how to ago about checking either way. Something tells him he can't just go up and ask.

WIP3: "When is that fella of yours gonna make an honest man out of you?" Dot asks, just as Gator reaches for the pans stacked on top of the fridge, and he jerks, pulling too quickly, sending a cookie sheet clattering toward the kitchen floor - he just manages to save it. Scotty raises the cover of her book to hide her face, but his ears work just fine and he hears her snicker.

"What do you mean?" he gripes as he fumbles with the cookware. This is what he got for trying to do something nice for his boyfriend on his birthday. "Billy's already registered as my dominant."

Which means if Gator really does burn the house down trying to make this fucking cake, Billy can have the honor of identifying his barbecued remains and save Dot the trouble.

i still didnt update sfm so i had to use (low quality) screenshots for the helmet. i've just checked it in wiki and i've realized what i saw as chains are actually chin straps. whoops!

Love good pancakes no matter the time of the day :P Went through so much to finish this 🫠 Blender 4.2 crashed 21 times (yes I counted) I was so close to breaking down after the whole computer restarted. But my artistic thirst wasn’t met until I finished it just when the sun rose. It’s not perfect but I love it so much (for now iykyk😂) looking forward to doing more NPR renders Going from this:

Texturing is a pretty technical job; it's important to understand the nodes to be able to get the artistic view out. Thankfully good resources helped tremendously.
