So am I the only one worried about the future of Next with the recent announcement regarding Classic? Like. I get it. Classic is the golden child of nostalgia in this case.. But I have. My qualms with Classic.

That's beside the point here. I'm concerned because:

● Ganz may be running themselves ragged here. This is a GIANT undertaking. Some others and I who run the Webkinz Next Miraheze discussed this. Ganz isn't a powerhouse like they were in 2005.

● Are they possibly rerouting the Next dev team to Classic for this? Does that mean we're stagnating Next?

● If their focus is heavily on Classic here, what is the fate of Next? Like I said, if they're pulling Next's dev team in XYZ amounts to focus on Classic, then how many are left to keep Next together? I'd hope they had enough income to just hire NEW staff to work on Classic. Because abandoning Next is scary..

Like I know. People don't prefer Next. But I like it, and others do too.

I guess I could list out WHY I don't really care for Classic anymore:

The UI/Stuff to do is so overwhelmingly filled that it quite literally starts to overstimulate me

The clothing layering isn't as nice as Next (sue me ik. Next has some clipping issues but at least they are fit onto the models vs edited over the bodies of pets)

The app sound is REALLY REALLY FUCKING LOUD (I was able to fix this with lowering the app settings manually on my computer but I would think Ganz would give us a way to lower the audio because good gods the soundmixing is. Ow.)

I can't afford Deluxe. I'll be fucking honest I am not able to pay for a membership. I don't want to be paywalled for basic stuff. Next doesn't do that. The season passes kinda are mmmm.. But at least they don't gate off an entire thing yk?

I lost my OG account in the purge and the fact that happened stings. (I DO NOT BLAME GANZ FOR THIS THEY JUST HAD TO ABIDE BY LAW.) Not to get too personal but I was playing Webkinz and Webkinz for a lot of us, was popular during you know. The housing crisis of 2008. My family couldn't afford a shit ton of Webkinz. I barely got any. Losing the ones I did have on my OG account fucking hurts a lot. Do you blame me for not wanting to play Classic after that??? I wouldn't.

I want Next to survive. I know some of you don't want that but Next is special to me. Classic and Next can coexist. Both have flaws. But Classic has been around for over a decade.. Next is extremely young compared to Classic. Give it more of a shot.

Sup guys! Ive recently been getting into WebKinz! I just downloaded the software (the original ofc) after finding my childhood Sugarplum Cheeky Monkey in my basement! Sadly he did not have a tag, so I just picked the sunset fox as my starter pet. I’m just wondering if anyone knows where to find a good WebKinz (perhaps with tags still attached) in Canada? Just reblog or reply if you know please!!

She arrived much faster than anticipated, but I bought myself a Webkinz Next French Bulldog! She’s so much bigger than I expected, she’s almost Sunny sized!

Her name is Lis (pronounced like Lee) and, while I don’t know if I plan to join Webkinz Next, I’ve already added her to my Classic family and I’m very excited to welcome her into my home 🧡
