taeil as an apothecary: just a gentle, old soul that likes his plants and cute glass vials lol taeil is a very simple person in the sense that he’s not a fighter, and finds any mystic arts waaay too complicated, but botany came easy for him, so he rolled with it. he’s the king of folk medicine and actually has secret recipes for them not to taste like grass???? an absolute blessing to the kingdom. lives his best life in a small house with a cute, chubby cat and shelves upon shelves upon shelves full of old books. because he’s more of a herbs type of guy, he never felt too keen on training with actual doctors. anything more than cleaning and dressing a small wound is too stressful and he did NOT sign up for it—not that it matters a lot to johnny, he’ll just keep showing up absolutely beaten to a pulp either way :) got bored once, tried casting a spell with doyoung’s staff and trapped tyong into a giant ice cube <3

taeyong as a druid: everybody, say it with me: DRUID!!! BUBU!!! tyong’s been interested in nature since he was a little kid, so it was expected that he’d develop a natural ability to communicate with animals and plants alike! druids vary a lot in their practices and taeyong can do a bit of everything, but his lane is restorative magic and animal-morphing. he is not big on combat and will really only fight to protect others. safe to say, he’s the happiest when he can heal someone and spend lots of time outside, checking in on the family of rabbits that moved to a burrow just left of his house. speaking of it, he does have a house, but he mostly goes over for supply runs and cleaning, weekly. you can normally find him with the other members of the guild, making sure everyone is fine and all missions are running smoothly

johnny as a knight: people usually say he is what happens when a knight skips formalities training lmao so, johnny technically is a knight, because he went through the royal academy, but he got bored & dropped out of the guard after just a couple weeks. his shiny armor and longsword are pretty much where the resemblance to other knights stops. johnny is a MAJOR extrovert and has a taste for adrenaline, so he’s pretty much living his dream life with the guild: fighting bad people and evil creatures, earning a good amount of money and travelling around. doyoung normally has an eye on him because it’s like trouble follows him?? 127 can never have a peaceful mission bc they look away for one second and johnny accidentally awakens the local dragon that’d been asleep for the past 3 centuries. go figure

yuta as a rogue: to get this straight, yuta is a ROGUE, not a THIEF! sure, he’s stolen a couple things, but it was from rich people so was it really stealing hmm?? lol but it’s like he was born for this. he is stealthy, quick, strong, has a silver tongue & charming personality, so everything comes together to make the BEST ex-mercenary the kingdom’s ever seen. i said “ex” bc taeyong eventually convinced him to stop robin hood-ing his way through life and come work for the guild, both assisting in missions and gathering intel lmao yuta loves two things the most: winmark (duh) and his daggers. he doesn’t let ANYONE but his most trusted blacksmith near them (and 100% whooped haechan’s ass when he hid them away on april fools) anyway he also looks really good in all-black attire and just keeps spending his money on shit like skull-shaped whiskey glasses

doyoung as a mage: he has a big brain and he’s not letting it go to waste. as a combat mage, doyoung is an expert at offensive spells. because he doesn’t wear heavy armour and lacks other forms of defence, his #1 priority is ending the fight as soon as it begins—and god does he look cool while doing it (screeches) he uses ice magic the most bc it’s easier to control than fire + his blue robes go so well with his skin??? he’s always carrying around at least 8 scrolls just in case they come in handy. they never do. honestly has no patience for any of the warriors in the guild lmao these fighter types tend to charge into battle with NO PLANS whatsoever and it drives him up the wall. def a master strategist with very low social skills. needs tyong around or he’d actually succeed in turning johnny into a snowman

jaehyun as a knight: a knight who actually behaves like one <3 went through the academy a lil bit later than johnny but he’d hear the stories and lowkey be like “good for him”, for getting away from all the work and pressure that comes with the royal guard. he’s just recently left, and he plans on studying to become an instructor! while that doesn’t happen, he’s your local shield dude. since he’s all big and strong but less stabby-stabby than johnny, he’s usually on the frontlines to cover for the long-distance fighters and the healers. needless to say, he does an amazing job. he’s not the most talkative of the guild, but he knows just how to rile up an enemy so they keep their eyes on him lol jae ALWAYS needs to have his armour and equip repaired, and it’s mostly not even from combat?? he just knocks into things enough while walking that everything dents (rip his knee guards)

jungwoo as a priest: the kid taeyong adopted so he wouldn’t be the only sane one in the guild. much to his disappointment, jungwoo’s the least sane priest you’ll ever see lmao he does obey his order’s customs and practices but he’s also so excited to try new things?? like yeah these old ass methods of healing and light magic work just fine but what if i made a holy water cocktail (“then it wouldn’t be holy anymore”) ANYWAY he loves being a priest cus it’s all about following the light and being light, and he takes it very seriously. he’s become a core member of the guild as their best healer but doubles as their diplomat bc he’s just so lovely and kind :) he’s also vital to all missions with doyoung bc when he inevitably gets pissed off at yuta or johnny, he needs hugs. jungwoo’s hugs. not tyong’s bc he calls him a furry lmao

mark as a ranger: no one actually knows how he came to be such a good ranger since he shoots with his eyes closed??? he probably has a 6th (or 7th) sense that allows him to ~feel~ his target or whatever lol while that part about him is a bit of a mystery, mark is easily the best tracker of the guild, and he worked VERY hard to develop his abilities. he’s also remarkably knowledgeable about survival skills, but they still need to be tested since he picked it all up from conversations with other hunters. i’m not gonna pretend this was mark’s calling and he was born for it, tho. he mainly chose this path bc magic is intimidating for him and he’s too panicky for close-range combat, and now he’s just glad it worked out for the best lmao bonus: his hunting partner is a snow leopard he found injured as a kitty and nursed back to health along with jungwoo <3

haechan as a sorcerer: the main difference between a sorcerer and a mage is their relationship with magic. mages studied for years to be able to cast their first spell, but sorcerers were born with it. even though pure arcane energy runs through hyuck’s veins, he wouldn’t have been so inclined to hear its’ call if it didn’t choose to manifest so,,, randomly. he’s set a few people on fire before (including jeno) and needless to say, it wasn’t the most fun experience. now that he’s gaining control of his abilities, tho, he’s possibly the person you should fear the most in the guild lol he knows 0 defence spells but his storm magic is so?? good???? loves striking his enemies with lightning, and sometimes, when you touch him, you’ll feel electricity run through you too hihi

final thoughts:

-hmmm this is about haechan. i did notice that the way i wrote it, it feels like he’s kind of op?? but he isn’t, and i couldn’t get too into it before to keep it brief. while sorcerers ARE naturals, that’s their drawback too. they know what they were born knowing, and they can’t learn types of magic they’re not compatible with. so in general they might be stronger in combat but way less versatile <3

-taeil keeps haechan close during the drier months of the year so he can make it rain over his garden lmao

-jungwoo enjoys performing exorcisms a lot, surprisingly???

-most of mark’s birthday presents since he joined the guild are new bows bc he just keeps breaking the ones he owned

-johnny’s armor are lined with gold while jaehyun’s have silver

-taeyong’s favourite animal to morph into are snowy owls

-mages tend to have a taste for history and that shows up VERY clearly in doyoung, he’s always the first to volunteer for a mission located near ruins or castles

-taeil smells like mint and rosemary change my mind

-yuta’s contacts outside the guild see him as this super cool, skilled rogue but everyone in 127 knows how soft he is. he likes taking walks with tyong, bc animals naturally flock around him and then he gets to pet them, btw

-johnny has almost been arrested a good amount of times, and the only thing that got him out was jaehyun coming over to charm the guards (my man johnson was thanking every deity out there for his superiors remembering jae fondly)

-once haechan convinced taeyong to morph into a lion and walk around with him as his “pet” just to make mark think he could somehow tame wild animals. it worked and mark was like 48% more terrified of haechan for a week, until tyong couldn’t handle the guilt and spilled the beans

it’s the two live crew job (lev 2x07) and sophie devereaux is dead.

or, well, katherine clive is dead. kat, if you will.

interesting, that it’s the same name sophie used with her professor boyfriend. or close enough. katherine with a k vs catherine with a c. interesting, because it’s not sophie. and that’s the name nate, her crew, and even starke use for her.

personally, I suspect that they are different personas. she says as much later. “no, they're not just names, not to me. all my aliases, every one of them, I — I know when their parents died. I know when they had their first kiss.” katherine and catherine are different people. sophie is a different person. but they are all her. or she’s them.

except for the fact they are also not. because sophie’s s2 arc has been a journey of self-discovery. it’s starts with the second david (lev 1x13) and the breakup of the team. the two are not directly correlated. she didn’t tell nate that she had the second david from a previous job. yes, it would’ve made the current job easier, but it wasn’t essential. and it’s not like anyone else had previously offered up past trophies.

but the job goes south. their headquarters blow up. and they go their separate ways. nate feels betrayed, but nate also feels like sophie owes him something. that she should be the woman he wants and not the woman she is. he thinks that, now that she works for him—now that she’s a good guy (gender neutral)—that she shouldn’t behave like a thief.

even though they still are thieves.

and while they are all apart she meets professor boyfriend. nate let her down with his drinking and his jealousy and his need for control. so even though she’s moving on, she’s realizing that she wants more out of her life. she wants to be seen. mortifying ordeal that it is.

mentoring winmark in the fairy godparents job (lev 2x04) helps. reminds her that beneath the mask of each of her personas is a kernel of truth. that she can be a grifter and a thief and still be herself. whatever name that self has.

so she decides to bury sophie devereaux in katherine clive’s grave. she changes the names on the gravestone. carves her resolution to excavate herself from the weight of her many aliases in literal stone. but not just any alias. sophie devereaux. her favorite.

and nate doesn’t quite get it. he thinks it’s just a name. thinks if she just offers up her real name then he’ll know the real capital T truth of her. that’s why he steps so far into her space. leans in to kiss her.

just when I think nate’s making progress, he does something stupid and I dislike him all over again. what a dick move. he told her he would give her latitude. give her time and space to find what she’s looking for—and then misses the point completely. deciding to let sophie deveraux go. let her alias rest with all the others. is not the end of her search. it’s just the beginning.

because now she needs to figure out who she is without sophie. or how sophie and katherine and catherine and alice and karen and elizabeth all fit in to who she is now. who she is with the real name we still don’t know. just her.

and nate has the gall to ask how long that will take. I think a part of him still believes she’ll change—is changing—for him. he should know by now that she isn’t. I thought he did know but apparently I was wrong. nate is all platitudes and no substance.

he’s still on his own journey. still has his own issues with control to work on. he needs to let sophie go. the sophie she has been, the sophie he thinks she should be, and the “sophie” she’ll be when he knows her real name.

because she doesn’t kiss him. she’s tempted—she wants so badly to be seen and loved. but she also knows that nate isn’t the right choice for that. not now, maybe not ever.

and I won’t lie, I really hope it’s never. because I think they work better as friends. even best friends. or partners in good crime.

but not as romantic lovers. that’s not a healthy place for their journeys to lead.

okay okay first of everything: you're an excelent writer and the way you've gotten better over time is really impressive and insane. i loved how you portrayed the instability growing through out the scenes, as well as yn being a mom and dealing with everything around the situation being outed. i do have a few points and i hope you have patience for them :)

well my first point is winwin: i already love him too much for you to go ahead and make me fall even more in love with him, like he's such a sweetheart and is so clearly in love with both yn and mei it melted my heart. also his patience>>>>like when he walked in on her and xiaojun i swore he was going to he jealous but he proceeded to brush over those moments and focus on his daughter (even when he wasnt in the scene and it made a reference to him taking care of her?? miss my heart cant take those moments)

point 2, taeil: i cant help but love him but im so annoyed at how he gave up. like i understand how not all of them could keep going... but at one point he was crying at how much he loved them????? and suddenly he decides that he doesnt get to be there anymore???? ugh more self love for moon taeil, honestly its heartbreaking i cant talk more about him. good job developing his character though!! everything made sense when it came to his storyline and i hope he gets into a relationship in the future lmao

point 3, the other breakups: not much to say about jungwoo, taeyong and hendery. i can see how things would turn out wrong for woo if he insisted in the relationship + the hate getting to him + not getting as much attention as he might need, might become too much, glad he didnt wait too long. im just happy taeten are still together kwjsks, taeyong left the impression he did it more for yn than for himself but it he was a little disconnected so i get it i guess. hendery spat facts, i didnt really see him being too into the relationship so okay. same with xiaojun, though he was a little more involved so i got kind of startled at how quickly they ended things, rip. now... johnny... i really thought he was going to get more engaged after meu was born, guess i was wrong lmao.

point 4, the most important: here i come to tell you how i love winwin, and how i wish he can be endgame with the reader, HOWEVER, i'm here, on my knees, barbecue sauce on my tities (what?) begging you to not do my boy mark dirty!!!!!! really, i fear for his future with yn, he really really really really loves her your honor, its clear. he's the reason she met them all. she seems to really love him too. please dont let them break up!!!! please end this with a winmark poly relationship(and yuta and jaehyun too but thats not my point, please dont break marks heart im crying right now)

So firstly I just want to say I love all of this!!! Like I said to that other anon, I really love getting feedback like this!!

So with Taeil he definitely does deserve better, and like I’ve said before, I really hate myself for how I wrote his storyline but like it just came out ☹️ he deserves better and he’ll have a happier future with someone who makes him happier and gives him the love he deserves.

Winwin is definitely very chill in that scene 😂 I think he just wants to be the best dad he can be for Mei, like the moment he first saw her she became his whole world, so he loves YN of course but for him everything is about Mei and just being present and a good figure for her.

For your points about the other breakups, there was a time when I did think that having Taeyong bow out was a bad idea, and I wanted him to stay, but then I thought about how I’ve written his relationship with Ten in the story and it just felt more like that would be a better place for him. Xiaojun was really into the relationship and things did end super quickly but I think there’s some things there that neither he nor YN really addressed. And if Johnny had gotten more attention from YN rather than feeling like he was constantly being brushed off in favor of the other guys, he probably gladly would’ve gotten more involved but I think he just realized that she’s always going to be splitting her attention and he was just tired of it.

And lastly I love your comments about Mark! I’ve seen people hating on Mark (not really but kinda...... looking at that one anon 👀) and saying like they do not want him there in the end
