🎤 TRANCE 🎤

The public knows of Trance very well seeing as he's a famous rockstar, though no one knows of his acts as a killer. Around the public, he has a charming facade that's flirty and confident, but around the very few he trusts, he's broken and unstable and has many flaws. He considers Egon and Seiren his friends.

🌌 SEIREN 🌌

No one other than those in Trance's inner circle (Trance, Egon, Wraith, and Jet) know Seiren. He'd a very curious demon, but has a bit of a sarcastic, bratty side. He considers Trance and Wraith his friends, though Wraith scares the shit out of him.

📷 EGON 📷

Not many people know of Egon since he keeps to himself and he stays out of the public's attention during Trance's shows and whatnot. Around others, he's quiet and cold and won't typically say much, but he's simply intimidating to be around. He considers Trance, Hauer, and Wraith his friends.

💀 WRAITH 💀

Wraith is not know by anyone but Trance's inner circle, being a demon and all. He's loud and obnoxious and will mess with anyone and taunt them when he can. He considers Egon and Seiren his friends.

💉 HAUER 💉

Not many people know of Hauer other than a few living family members and Trance's group, and then of course the people he interacts with on the dark web where he posts about his "experiments". Around others, he is cruel and cold, but has a hard time picking up on social cues. He often will say whatever is on his mind. He considers Egon his friend.

⛓️ RALPH ⛓️

No one but Hauer and Trance's group know of Ralph. He can range from being timid and reclusive to aggressive and lashing out to new people. He doesn't have anyone he considers a friend.

🖥 JET 🖥

Jet is pretty social, but he doesn't stick out in people's memories. He's pretty easily forgotten by those he meets, other than Trance's group. He acts happy and excitable and energetic around people. He considers Trance, Wraith, Bogy, and Egon is friends (though the friendship is very one-sided with Egon).

🪽 LIAS 🪽

Lias is known by a few people as he often volunteers at churches, but he keeps his presence pretty low key. Around most people, he acts friendly and sweet, but few will see his true nature as pompous and sadistic, as he looks down on everyone as he sees them as beneath him. He doesn't have friends because he doesn't believe he needs them.

🥀 BOGY 🥀

Bogy is pretty well known in the area she works by regulars at her bar and by several exes. She's pretty social but doesn't get too close to people. She is friendly and kind to people, though she avoids opening up too much. She considers Jet her friend.

Ooohhhh that’s a good question, I don’t think I ever really decided. Kara fell slow, it creeped up on her quiet enough to ignore at first. He was her best friend, how else are you supposed to feel about them? For Peter when they first became friends it was during spiderman homecoming, so he had a relationship, and then was freshly out of it. Those feelings hit him like a truck in an instant, something about the way she flashed a small grin when one of her projects failed spectacularly because it meant she could try again, the quiet rooftop moments where her eyes would study his face like drinking in the details, the way her hair burned like fire in the sun, when she’d slump against him and let him braid her hair. But he’s DENSE and so he doesn’t realize she’s in love with him, and then Kara’s Wraith arc puts turmoil between them, but that only ignites those feelings further because nothing can go quietly unsaid anymore, and for a while they get locked in this cycle of passion and clashing ideologies. They rekindle basically right before infinity war, are both blipped (Kara’s fighting in Wakanda tho) and post endgame I’ve been working on rewriting Far from home for them, and has them actually learning to be normal, and no way home they’re all good, until ofc Peter erases his existence basically, and Kara is growing without him (and all she remembers of ‘him’ is spiderman, so really just the fighting and passion during her wraith arc, none of the good before or after) and he doesn’t want to put her through that again, so he doesn’t tell her. Kara knows she’s missing something important though, and it all comes back to spiderman, so she searches for him, and I wanna know how this next spiderman movie goes rlly bad

Hi, hello! I'm trying to figure out a Maelstrom oc but I just am so stuck with creative block. How did you stsrt/begin Dagger? I'm not looking to copy or anything! But I'm so lost on making a backstory and trying to find inspiration 💀💀

Well with Dagger I cheated a little because he was originally a side character and my V's brother, so I already had some kind of idea of who he was/where he fit in the universe. But with making any character I just start really selfishly: what are the tropes/archetypes I personally like? Start broad and fill in the blanks as you go!

For Maelstrom, a good place to start might be "Why/how did they end up in the gang?" From there you can start branching out into smaller details. Using Dagger as an example: I knew I wanted him to be a Wraith, which means at some point he was probably a nomad in some capacity and he was thrown into the Raffen lifestyle via a choice he made. So what was that choice and why did he make it? What does it tell me about who he is as a person? What was his reaction to it? You keep asking little questions until you figure out the bigger picture.

Did your Mealstrommer choose to be in the gang? And if so, why? Was it for protection and if so, from what? Community? Other gangs? Were they just bored? Were they forced into it due to other circumstances? Do they even like it? Look through in-game info and wiki's about Maelstrom and see what information interests you and extrapolate from there.

Sometimes it helps to start with relationships! Who are the close to? Did they side with Brick or Royce or do they even care? Maybe they're best friends with Patricia--what does that inform about them? What kind of person might get along with Patricia and why?

I hope this helps a little bit? It can be kinda a drag to do this if you're not feeling the inspiration so another piece of advice is to really not force it or to think too hard because in my experience that also kills the vibe. Really try to find what little pieces of lore particularly spark some interest and follow those until you can build a little more! Step away and watch some movies or play another game and let it sit in the back of your mind because often times that's when ideas will really start rolling in, at least for me!!

Building oc's for me is just a big game of "Oh what if..!" And sometimes its just a while before it starts taking off. But I really hope you have fun with it and I can't wait to see what you do with your lil strommer :3

3.) Do they have any hobbies?

Ghost: He loves to cook~ When they have down time, or get to interact with civilians on any planet, Ghost asks about their food and culture. Anthropology, as it were. He loves understanding different cultures. His brothers are happy about it, Ghost cooks for them mainly. It's a good way for him to de-stress when they have access to fresh food.

Phantom: Poetry! He will never, ever admit that, tho. Phantom really enjoys writing poetry, reading it too. Specter found his book once, and Tom panicked and said it was Wraith's. Specter said he bought it, but he's probably the only one who knows Tom wrote it.

Specter: photography is his biggest hobby, but Specs also paints! He's very artistically inclined, has an eye for it, and enjoys the self expression. He's painted most of The Crypt's walls. He especially loves this hobby when Athena joins him, he taught her how to paint and draw.

Banshee: Ban loves books. Absolutely 100% loves books. Most of his personal credits go into books. His not to secret hobby, tho, the one he doesn't show outwardly, is that he composes music. Most of the music he listens to 24/7 is stuff that he made himself.

Wraith: Ray collects flowers from the places the visit. He'll press them in a book Master Dax made for him, adding their place of origin, the date of collection, and any relevant information such as environmental requirements, edible or toxic, and aroma when fresh. His other favorite hobby is doing his brothers' hair, as well as Athena's. The man knows a mean braid.

17.) What did they want to be when they were little?

Ghost: Ghost wanted to be a dad. When he was little, he asked one of his teachers what their lab was like where they were made, and when he was told they were born, Ghost became obsessed with the idea of having a home. A family. When he learned that people can be raised, they can make other people not in tubes, all he wanted was to be a dad. He still hopes for that, deep down.

Phantom: Tom wanted to be a jedi. He spent a lot of his limited free time practicing saber techniques "for when my powers come in!" Because he assumed, like any child would, that he simply had to grow into them. Sometimes, he still tries to move things with the force.

Specter: Specs wanted to be a teacher. Aside from his brothers, his favorite person was a teacher on Kamino. Not combat, the basics. Reading, writing, code, math, etc. She taught him to love art by encouraging the doodles in the margins. Today, Specs thinks she was his first love, and silently dedicates every piece of artwork he does to her. He hopes, once the war is over, that he might be an art teacher specifically, because art was what made him realize he's a person.

Banshee: Ban didn't want anything else when he was little. He thought being a soldier was all there was, so it was all he wanted. Until he blew up the first time. When he woke up and saw Master Dax above him, it was the first time he wanted anything for himself, "I want to go home." Now, he dreams of being a musician, or a house husband, for the right person.

Wraith: Ray has always wanted to be a doctor. Even before he started his official medic training, he was constantly trying to improve the health and lives of his brothers. He does however, sometimes, have a little day dream about being a florist.

20.) Do they believe in the Supernatural?

Grave Squad: they've seen people die and come back when they shouldn't. They've seen magic first hand in the jedi. They've been told stories about the witches of Dathomir and how General Valka got the spikes on his back.

Yes. Emphatically, Grave Squad believes in the Supernatural.
