Some of you have followed my recent posts about visions, Marian signs, and art that suddenly felt alive. Today I want to show how two unlikely voices—Lauryn Hill and Jim Carrey—started echoing the very themes I was writing before I even knew they’d had their own awakenings.
🔥 Lauryn Hill — Unplugged as Scripture
She walked off the charts, onto a bare stage, and bled honesty:
“Fantasy is what people want, but reality is what they need.”
“I don’t respect your system… I get out.”
“How you gon’ win, when you ain’t right within?”
Hill calls out ego, empire, self-deception.
Her crackling voice feels less like a concert and more like Joel, Amos, Jeremiah—live on MTV. Every guitar squeak sounds like a shofar.
Judgment here is not damnation; it’s a furnace meant to refine.
🎭 Jim Carrey — Ego Death in Hollywood
Years after Dumb & Dumber, Carrey vanished, painted cosmic canvases, and began speaking like a monk in a comedy mask:
“The decision we make every moment is to be in love or fear.”
“Christ on the Cross looked upon the people causing the suffering with compassion—that’s the decision.”
“I used to believe I was a guy who had anything figured out. Then I was thrown in the river of humility.”
He talks about Christ-conscious forgiveness and Buddha-mind detachment in the same breath. East meets West right on a Hollywood podium.
🌌 The Pattern
1. Crisis ➜ Collapse ➜ Awakening
Both artists walked through breakdowns that looked like career suicide—but became soul rebirths.
2. Ego dies, Spirit speaks
Their public unraveling = ancient prophets tearing garments in the town square.
3. East & West converge
Lauryn quotes Scripture; Carrey quotes Buddha and Christ in the same sentence. One river, many banks.
4. Media as modern pulpit
Albums, award shows, viral clips—today’s stained glass.
🕊️ Why This Matters
My writing began referencing Christ, string theory, and end-time judgment before I heard their testimonies. Then Hill’s raw hymns and Carrey’s avant-sermons landed in my feed like divine confirmation:
You’re not alone. The veil really is tearing.
Artists are waking up, confessing publicly, and the Spirit is using the algorithm as amplifier.
I believe we’ll see more of this. More breakdowns that become breakthroughs. More comedians and pop stars quoting Jesus and the Buddha in the same breath. A great convergence.
💡 Reminder: Awakening isn’t pretty—it’s holy disruption.
If you suddenly crave truth, tremble at old songs, or feel the urge to pray without knowing why—
welcome to the club.
Lauryn’s on guitar. Jim’s painting galaxies. And the rest of us are somewhere between breakdown and resurrection, listening for the next chord.

The Secret Habit 90% of Seniors Do (But Never Talk About) | Elder Mode
youtube
Think you're the only one who's still nose-picking at 70? Think again. In this honest, humorous, and surprisingly enlightening video, we expose the reality about a habit almost 90% of seniors confess to in private but hardly ever speak about: nose-picking. Supported by actual surveys and medical professionals' input, we investigate why this action is so prevalent with age, what physicians have to say on the matter, and how you can take care of your nasal health safely. In addition, we explore other "gross" but universal older habits—such as testing tissues, ear cleaning, and yes, toenail clipping in the living room—and why it's time to shed the shame and celebrate our humanity.

Why Does it Matter
Though the foster care system is deemed to be this altering life-saving system, many of the kids feel unheard, mistreated, and overlooked. Many end up dealing with housing issues after being swept away from their parents, as stated in this scholarly article, “ child welfare system that has long been in crisis -- subjecting already traumatized children to unprecedented housing instability that renders them essentially homeless, and denying them vital mental health care services” (Washington). Moving from place to place can be mentally draining but also one of the leading causes of feeling isolated. Someone like Pudge is a necessity. Of course, having a stuffed animal is not going to make these problems go away, but having a comfy companion can make these feelings of isolation go away. Surely I advise all children within the system and even those who aged out or got adopted to attend therapy, to ensure that your happiness does not end in the system.

There are no words to describe the aftermath, the wreckage, and the devastation after the storm of an online romance scam. In fact, it can all be so very traumatizing for victims that it can sadly result in suicide.
This very silent, personal tragedy devastates lives, including mine.
Although it's not easy, I've decided to tell the world my story, my truth, about my experience with a specific man who primarily goes by the name of Marco Chovi.
Why?
Because the world needs to know the truth about this unemployed, travelling, multi-billionaire who lives life in the lap of luxury on his victims' dimes.
While most days I'm numb and remain in shock, I am angry enough to find the bravery and courage to not be silent. This journey of telling my truth will hopefully be cathartic for me. I also hope that other victims find some comfort, some peace, some solace in knowing they are not alone. I safely welcome them here.
That said, I welcome everyone. Feel free to vent, expose, talk, or even challenge me. You can remain anonymous if you wish.
My goal is for my perpetrator to know that I will never stop telling the world my experiences with him until he pays me back all the money he scammed from me, plus interest and damages; or until he is behind bars; or both.
If this man is innocent, let him step forward and proclaim his innocence. Instead, he conveniently blocks anyone who respectfully attempts to engage in conversation with him regarding this "Marco scam" tragedy. If he's innocent, please have him speak to law enforcement, as several criminal complaints have been filed against him. Instead, he chooses to hide behind his social-media accounts, blocking anyone who dare utter a word.
Now, if he feels I'm defaming him, well, then he is welcome to take me to court and sue me, or press charges against me (even though I'm not committing any crimes).
The point is that, in order to silence me and prevent me from destroying his name and reputation, he'd have to return all money as indicated previously; or he'd have to "show up" in person to go through the legal system, which he's too much of a coward to do.
Mind you, this is not extortion, bribery, or blackmail on my end --- I'M THE VICTIM HERE. And if I don't take action by telling the truth and demanding my money returned, there will be other victims, and there will also be other copycats of this sociopathic narcissist.
In sum, if I can prevent others from becoming trapped in his web of deceit.... If I can alert those close to him about his criminal activities...
I will be at peace.
So, now...
Where do I begin?

Empty.
I can remember as a kid I would always get this overwhelming feeling of being out of place or that something was wrong with me.
Tumblr media
It would be in the most random of moments.
I can remember not knowing how to identify these feelings and I still don't, at 34.
I often flashback to myself standing at the end of my childhood driveway during a "wave.
PIECES OF BACKGROUND.
My parents divorced when I was 6.
I grew up with 1 older brother.
My mom remarried to my dads best friend when I was 9. His name is Poppa.
My dad remarried the max amount of times for the state of Arkansas. He was lost for love, only to fall for my mothers wicked sister - the final vow to his death. ^That's a story within itself!
My brother went off into the military, we never stayed close. I blame it on the age gap, but there's also something heavy that's never been addressed.
As I got into my late teens I begin to experiment with drugs: marijuana, shrooms, LSD, ecstasy. All fit well with my interest in art, music like; The Beatles and Jones Joplin, my hippy personality, and my strong cry to fit in...
Tumblr media
I was empty. THE HOOK. I was "too good" to be a homeless drug addict and I most definitely had control.
One day I bought Percocet, because at that moment - "why not?"
That out of place feeling no longer existed. All I knew was I felt lighter... better... clearer... and I was ok in my skin.
It numbed everywhere, even areas I didn't know were hurting. I HAD A PROBLEM... I can remember going on a family vacation and I had been doing a lot of pain pills the weeks leading up to leaving. I decided that I wouldn't bring any on the trip, not knowing my body was already physically dependent on the medicine. Mentally and physically I was sick... the whole trip... All I knew was "I need more. I know what's missing. I just have to get home to it. I just need to feel better."
The deep craving for what I knew would instantly bring me relief outweighed any other thought that tried to surface in my 17 year old brain.
I. WAS. LOST.
I can remember racing through back roads.
"I just need to get there and then I can figure it out."
"I just need to think clearer..." As I sped around a curve I took out a sign and slid into a ditch.
Who better to call for help then the Austin Police Dept, where my dad was patrolling.
"I can get out of this one."
And I did.
(just another illusion of being saved from my own slow death).
^If only the weight of the life I was going to lead had already awakened me. This was just the beginning. A slow rolling storm growing into a decade long relationship with POPPY. I promise there is hope to come...

💥 Everyone won’t always stick around.
But what if their absence is exactly what God uses to grow you?
In this week’s #ReedsReads, we explore Chapter 13 of Book I of S.O.L.A.D.™, where Juanita learns she doesn’t need to wait on others to become who God called her to be.
📖 It's a deep, powerful word for anyone who's been feeling isolated or forgotten.
You are stronger than you think—especially when you’re alone.

Strong mental health helps us bounce back from setbacks, adapt to change, and handle life’s ups and downs.
𝑷𝒉𝒚𝒔𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒍 𝑯𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒕𝒉:
Poor mental health can lead to physical health issues like weakened immunity, sleep problems, and chronic illnesses.

mountainhead is THEEEEE ALBUM FOR THIS city song…. yourenotalone makes me want to CRY. the triple whammy of enter the mirror (not————yet,) + the choruses of YMMS where the backing vocals are fully swallowing jon’s lead + city song. man. wah
you’ve said the best ones also except for, I think, supernormal…!!! the call and response is so deranged and i’m so sad they never do it live…. i said it when the song came out but i really do think supernormal saying “that’s what he wants”/“that’s what i want!” is basically the only time in their discography where the lyrics explicitly pit them as two separate narrators/speakers, if the He is jonathan/the lead vocal, and i find that soooooo fascinating and inch resting
would you like to discuss your favorite EE Backing Vocals™. bits that aren’t jon. or that may be jon on the record but the other boys do it live. the hammer the fragments etc <3
answering this just before i go to sleep so i dont forget AGAIN tomorrow:
obviously The Hammer! The Fragments! alex robertshaw gets one (1) backing vocal bit that's All Him and sometimes he forgets to do it. love u alan.
JENNIFER jesus christ the overlapping backing vocals. the thing jon was saying on tape notes about it being impossible to do as one person because he Needs The Others and this serving as comfort to the quote-unquote character... gah. jennifer by everything everything song of all time. real talk it's about singing the backing vocals at the gig. and you also have someone doing the main bit.
similarly city song. was on the verge of tears at the backing "you're not alone"s when they did this live last spring and that is about as close to crying as i get these days. it's.
DUET. ALSO.
bonus and maybe-predictable answer:
taking off one headphone listening to the original version of photoshop to experience pure unadulterated That Dude. its like a fun easter egg to me
