hmm here’s me talking about su sort of lmao like i said i’m not here to be particularly scentamentle?? just say funney stories....and some opinions.....it’s really been a hot minute and i haven’t been making Long text posts about things so i can throw one out there even if it’s got no thesis statement
also like i said i just so happened to like, actually watch the first ep on actual tv when it actually premiered....all i super remember knowing about it beforehand was like “oh rebecca sugar getting her own series right on” and i was gonna check it out on that alone and then also i remember before it debuted there was an article about it in the wapo in the sort of “local”-ish section b/c it was like. hey this is based in uh yknow the dmv....delmarva area.....this whole Region.....and i (from nova and in nova at that time, and flipping thru the print wapo every day) was like haha. neat. also god damn it was 2013, hell of a year. i can tell you little about it b/c it was so crappy i just like did not bother much with things like “distinct memories” lmfao. great to have like, a weekly thing towards the end of that hot mess (november??? or smthing??) back when....god........it aired weekly.........anyways yeah i was pleasantly surprised from the start i don’t Get when people are like “can’t watch this in order :/ the first few eps don’t sell it well” like okay speak for yourself god dman....more on that later i’m sure lmfao. hot takes
my brother started watching it too just cuz he’s game for shit that way and i was keeping up with it. like i remember i thought cheeseburger backpack was extra fun and i think i showed him a rerun and i remember he thought it was funny lol the Raft Gag......and when i was watching tiger millionaire i kept For Real Laughing and he came over like what is going on.....and i think he was signed on from there........again pretty fun for it to be this weekly thing. also maybe i’m not here to be Sentamental but i was also like “oh no that Spoke to my feelings unexpected :(” during tiger millionaire when amethyst was all “you can’t let anyone make you feel like garbage” and “i only feel how i wanna feel” like guess who was in the early stages of “my self esteem is so crappy it’s starting to circle around into [trying to increase self esteem]”.........like i said hell of a time. though then that’d be 2014 by then i think?? still a hell of a time
started to get “i think i will draw the same character one million times” about it at some point in 2014 too lmfao......every instance of [me drawing the same shit one million times], which is the only way i ever draw anything, then like, benefits whatever i draw later cuz like. sure get some practice out of it. and even though like, it wasn’t quite as huge an Internet Thing as it was gonna get once i started to draw shit, it was already like, classic-me Kinda Niche to be like “hey gang who is going ham about the bored dumbass teens”....not so niche that there weren’t other people going “yeah i am” at any given time tho. and then we put our hands in the middle and go Yeah!! and jump up hsm style. it was also a great time for something Fun and (easier than marble hornets lol) to draw b/c. it simply was a good time for it.....struggling to draw shit back then even more than is like, usual. oh and also i forget but i had sort of Withdrawn from the mh fanbase b/c it got this whole influx of randos after fjsfdking the Video Game we all know the one and i was like. i am gonna.....sidle over here. nobody Likes to be in a fandom actually lmfao. and i mean even while su was getting to be A Whole Thing i was like. bro i am over here in the Donuts section and it is a little quieter and i use the tag sometimes but i’m all set, thanks. still the least Niche niche i’ve been in probably lmfao....see: the fact that probably still way most of my followers are here from su times even tho idk who’s even active still
also had a high time making some great Long Text Posts. i kind of always fail 2 grasp that even as much as my drawings that stuff leads to me actually getting to interact with people, b/c like, those text posts have me actually saying Words in them, which helps lmfao..........i think it’s like, these posts are probably Not That Fun for most people, but then for the people who Are like “oh sweet this is something that i actually want,” that’s obviously a helpful way to find a kindred spirit lmao.....like hey cool you already know i can’t shut up and am opinionated and obviously a lil much? fantastic let’s do this. plus idk it’s fun to Not Shut Up Actually. like, not the biggest deal. ppl can just Scroll Past. or not
speaking of “getting practice Not Shutting Up and Drawing Shit”.......hilarious when in late 2018 i find myself like. oh so you’re telling me this excellent character who is a self-sabotaging struggling-to-know-how-to-cope-with-shit-and-connect-with-others insecure af Teen is not appreciated / ignored / deemed Awful (and then ignored) by the majority of the fanbase?????? hahaha you don’t say....but No Problem. let me just talk about how this person has Complexity actually and is a lot more sympathetic than not and i hate all of you omg like do we have to do all of this ourselves lmfao........guess so, Fine
what am i talking about funny stories who is this funny to lmfao. okay no but okayyy what an experience when the island adventure preview came out and for like the next 4 days i did not experience depression lmao........i Jumped on the opportunity b/c it was like, early fall i wanna say??? i think sept?? 2014 and i was kinda mulling over going to gmx (which was this convention the Marble Hornets gang kept getting invited to & i’d been 2 twice b4 but missed the previous yr coz it was 2013 and i was way not thriving) and yeah jumped on the “depression / (as much) anxiety who???” superpower to Ask if it was cool if i went to a friend’s wedding in georgia for a weekend. there was no friend’s wedding in georgia. and then i went to gmx AND. ironically (not really im sure. idk what irony means and idc) gmx weekend ended up being the same weekend island adventure actually aired and when i left that morning (gmx being in nashville) my lil bro (getting up for school) was like GO GO and i actually made it in time to catch it in the hotel room but. they didn’t have the channel despite it being listed on the channel guide. i about flipped lmfao but i did see it later that weekend and flipped again. gmx was an a-okay time as well lmao that was the last time i made it
they may have never sold a licensed Lars S1 Green/Purple Snake Tee but look when i have this green racerback with a neat snake print & this necklace of purple quartz crystals and also when i was at gmx i bought this necklace with one (non purple, non actual crystals but plastic shaped like it / glossed) pendant In The Spirit Of It All and it gets compliments. anyways the point is. indirectly representing
speaking of crystals = lars i’d just like to reiterate that i’m always right. like sure i was like “look i don’t know how lars could have Crystal Magic in him but something is up with the fact he’s = pink magic flowers with crystals inside them Means Something.” i think it’s reasonable to Not have predicted he dies and gets revived w/ crystal magic that’s in him now. but that’s still a Win for realizing somethings up....tfw as early as like s2 times i’d be like “well the donuts gotta get involved in the center of adventure at Some point and also i Know it is important that steven is just lars’s rly annoying little brother and y/n do you think lars would die to protect him i think he would...” like. i didn’t wanna be That right :/
tfw me and my brother were watching rose’s scabbard while my mom was napping it out in the armchair and like silently Sharing A Look at the whole “she was beautiful” thing like. lol harold
i still don’t know how much of a Thing(tm) magfest is but as far as i can figure it it’s No Comic Con (like, thank god :| ) but still kind of a thing. anyways i learned of it cuz i saw there was gonna be a couple su panel thingies & i looked it up & we were less than an hour away and so it was like midnight but i ask my brother like hey wanna swing by this thing on this one friday. and he was like Sure. so i made it happen and he was 17 so we had to drag our dad to the bank to Notarize a form that he was allowed to be there accompanied by me. it was a big place and it also took us a while to find Registration or whatever and when we tried getting sandwiches later it cost like $7 each go figure. anyways but we were just there for the one Event & there was a room like filled with arcade games and a bunch of other consoles (also Retro though. like old computers n stuff) and they had Galaga, thank fucking god. we 2 playered that shit and wandered around and also 2 playered a game called toobin, which was funny. real gamers know.
when we were in the (pretty long) Line to get into the Panel, i actually like. spotted a then-mutual who i (was pretty sure i) recognized from her occasional selfie lol and who i guess had travelled all the way from the west coast for the weekend. when we were actually Seated she happened to be a couple rows back and both of us on the end of the aisle and i asked my brother if he could read her nametag (to verify lol) and i bopped over to have the cringe and fail exchange of “hey do you have a Tumblr” and then i was like “haha i’m milo i’m ummmwine” and she got up to hug me and then i had to scamper back to my seat cuz shit was starting lol
like my life was not changed by this event but we had fun and. the Hilarious story is that it was also partially a Q&A and i had a Q and my brother encouraged me by again whispering “go go” as soon as the first syllable was spoken implying Line up For Questions.....i was in like, the last idk, haaalf dozen or so ppl who made it to the mic? and look i knew i was gonna be asking a niche question that like 3 other people of the hundreds in the room would care about but So What. deal with it gang, let’s have some Variety. but i was still nervous. and when i’m nervous, i a) Have A Script and b) get even chattier. and right after the person Right In Front Of Me got their answer, i guess it was noticed that it was getting down to the wire so they were like “haha okay lightning round :)” and i was like NO.......GOD..........lmfao like too late im sorry i Can’t make it lightning round. i was muy anxious.....just that, again, hundreds of people there, i have the floor, nobody’s gonna Like my quastion......and they didn’t know the answer (which i figured was v possible lol) so i was like oh no sklfjd hope this entire room doesn’t hate me. i mean of course i didn’t care if they did too much but, Nerves....also im valid, but were the like half dozen people who asked prior to me about shit that would CLEARLY be too spoilery to answer valid????? no lmfao. cmon. that’s what’s Really cringe
well here we ffw a bit b/c Mid To Late 2015 is certainly a time for me and it doesn’t really make for an interesting story so just to tldr it lmao like, got some beautiful moral support from someone as i was makin a Lifestyle Change lol and continued to get beautiful moral support from that same person and i continue to benefit from it....You know who you are!!!! tyvvm....and it occurred to me that the reason i am where i physically am is via someone i met thru su-posting.......which is true of the You Know who you are person too, which is why i brought it up lmao
uhh god not as many Stories after that lol.....def got to engage in “i’m ___ i’m gonna [draw the same character i always draw] so i won’t be so ___” during interesting times lol. love that for me
tbh the uh. Wanted arc was truly one of the best Serial Arcs, just dramatic & solid af and also it’s lars time and for a second i go “god well at least maybe now ppl will acknowledge lars is a gr8 character” and then a second later i go “Oh No they’ll only say he’s a good character *Now*” and that’s exactly what happened lmfao but well we still got as much lars fanart as we ever got outside that couple weeks aftermath... l o l . . . i had to wait One Zillion Years for my little brother to catch up to this b/c. he was watching via hulu i think where like, a full season would come out a good while after the finale. seriously i think it took him almost 2 years. im like dammit lmfao this is What Matters dfslk....fond memories when hulu was free / no login req’d / shit would be available like the day after airing
uhhhHHH crazy how this show muscled through the weird scheduling change where it was like “no weekly eps Only Erratic Hiatuses”......ppl were so foolishly Into the first “5 eps in a row” release and i was like “no i don’t like this” and then a year later i was like “you see. You See.” rip
i think we can even ffw to sutm at that point lol....im like im in this for lars okay lmfao kinda Shrugggg @ things by this point lol like finale shminale. where’s he at. and i really wasn’t paying a world of attention to like, prior-to-release lore n announcements so i was just plunged into this chaos of like sorry???? excuse me?? of all the people in the world sarah stiles?????? lfsdj like noooo don’t show me these tweets lmfao......truly it’s fine i’m being Hilarious but it’s also very real that like, when i see things like “showtime(tm)” or “SHO” or “billions content” i’m just doused with Dread b/c i hate this series lmao i swear to christ. but it’s really Fine lmfao like. i was kinda “eh :/” to “yea this is alright” about the rest of it but spinel was The Highlight lmfao and having $50 to go ham on her animation was great but really the voice acting Made It.....like the entire takeaways was uh the other friends sequence and fuckin uhh this part. fuck it up ms. stiles........hit it out of the park..........cain was the first funny bitch and spinel was the second. that thought just came to me and i will not elaborate. call that a revelation. oh and also it was a relief cuz i was like “i s2g if this Antagonist is like, aquamarine-style annoying af....i will die” but No. spinel is annoying af in another way which is her rights and i don’t want to die about it lmfao. she’s good.......i don’t even resent the “how come whenever some rando shows up ready to literally kill everyone for no good reason, all of you are ready to be like ‘wow an icon’ and we can’t have 10% of that energy for the teen who’s kinda bitchy b/c he’s annoyed by life and crap???” thing b/c i mean, she had her whole Arc all at once and also is good enough for it i think. the nadir was when the one rando shows up for like One episode like “i Don’t want to kill everyone :3 syke >:)” and for some reason people were like “omg iconic. call them on their ‘don’t kill everyone’ bullshit” like lol i hate you guys
well i like lars’s [last outfit we see him in] and i feel like it only backs up the bi agenda. another epic gamer moment had been when it became a Popular Hc that lars is trans b/c he is lmao. and everyone was all “why is everyone sayign this why would you want him to be trans he sucks” like get good grandma!!!!!!!! it’s too late. well that’s the end of my post. me in 2014 being like “wow way to have something to keep up with b/c now i have to outlive it to get all the dnads content i guess” and here i am. but it’s almost April 2020 so. haha
hmm what’s a less ominous ending. oh shit another thing that was funny is i was like So about these Skull Plugs featured in this semi-official drawing of lars once and then horror club came out (fun b/c i like horror) and had the skull plugs for Real & they were glow in the dark. that was a big day for me even seeing the promos lmfao. except then i guess it was foreshadowing, so again i end this with Death. don’t we all
wait no lsfdjs What tf was matthew moy talking about “i like your hair.” dude dropping an i-guess cut line on us lmfao. alright alright im done
#not as long as i thought it'd be!!! i don't have many engaging stories to say lol and like i said. not here to get. sedimental#that unfortunate Lightning Round incident lmfao......rip my ass. it was fine i was just like. [screams inside]#god.......what a uhh six and a half years six and a half years are. s/o to. Lars#oh i never ''more on this later'''d that one point. what a tragedy right lmao. i was just like. ppl Can simply watch the eps in order tho...#a concept i was not into lmfao. ess em aitch. i was never here for Lore okay

1. Who wakes up first?
Hanzo, simply because he doesn’t wake up first, but he has high propensity to completely forgo sleep (he likes to take catnaps during the days) and watch Kuai Liang sleep or being occupied in productivity - reading, painting, meditating, doing chores, etc.
2. Who wants to stay in bed just a little longer?
Neither, for they are remarkably disciplined and dedicated to their clans and they are punctual individuals. Unless Hanzo beseeches Kuai - for such circumstance occurs seldomly that he’s actually able to get a good night’s sleep with such abundance of nightmares and night terrors, and even panic attacks, then they will most likely stay in bed for a bit longer.
3. Who takes longer getting ready?
Hanzo, by the slightest margin, because of his hair - even when Hanzo’s accustomed to comb his hair out and properly tie it in a bun atop his head, the process could get rather tedious, as he has luscious straight hair.
4. When they can’t sleep, what do they do?
Remain entangled and naked, facing all the realities and verities of their existence and talking about their bliss of growth, the splendor of action, the common dreams and aspirations of their respective clans. They are not overly promiscuous and sexual to begin with, as they both have low to normal sex drives, but they do enjoy revelling in their bodies - all the imperfections, scars, their sculpted forms, every hill and valley of their impressions and such.
5. Who falls asleep while watching a movie?
Most likely Hanzo, unless he’s entirely engrossed by the storyline and the characters in the movie, he will simply regard it as a white noise that will lull him to sleep.
6. Who falls asleep last, watching the other with a small affectionate smile?
More frequently Hanzo, watching Kuai Liang sleep chases away all the self-isolation, unexplainable loneliness and warms his heart up. The solitude as the world reduce to only two of them becomes an escape from the pandemonium in a world that never could
7. Who comes up with the cheesy pick-up lines?
Kuai Liang, ever the dorky pun-master. That will either get him Hanzo’s glaring stare or his snorting laugh (provided that it’s actually funny).
8. Who gets extremely competitive playing Mario Kart?
Hanzo, not only is he extremely competitive, but when in mood, he could be such a sore loser. He’s the one that crashes his car so many times due to road rage. He literally lits himself up in smoldering blaze next to Kuai Liang. Modern Hanzo even worse, because he already engages in motorcycle racing as one of his hobbies and this is only pouring gasoline onto his temper.
9. Who accidentally pushes a door instead of pulling?
Hanzo, this is the reason Shirai Ryu Compounds have sliding doors. JK. He’s sensible and attentive enough to pay attention to such a thing, but there are moments when his hazy and sleep-addled attention slips and Kuai has to direct and guide him properly. The same goes for the modern Hanzo, as he could be clumsy and rather out of his normal self especially in the early mornings.
10. Who sets the other’s ringtone to something loud and obnoxious behind their back?
In modern verse, definitely Kuai. Most likely for Hanzo’s alarm in the morning or during the night when he’s assigned a graveyard shift, but Hanzo gets extremely irate and agitated in the morning.
11. Who rearranges the bookshelf/DVD shelf in alphabetical order?
Both in their canon verses are rather meticulous and organized. Kuai most likely more than Hanzo, because I headcanon him that he keeps Lin Kuei Archives with the utmost care - they are all scribed by hand as he absolutely detests and distrusts technology - and almost appear anal to those who are deemed messy and unorganized. Neither in their modern verses, as they both prefer what I call a ‘chaotic mess.’ Their personal space isn’t a pigsty per say, but there would be neat clutters everywhere, scattered throughout their rooms.
12. Who does the hands-over-the-eyes “Guess Who” thing?
Kuai. Especially when Hanzo’s immensely occupied with his work in front of the laptop and with abundance of paperworks; either to make his ‘father’ take a damned break, or just simply wanting attention. I can definitely imagine them being outside their house - going to the library, book cafes, etc. to just break the mundane boredom of being stuck in the house when Hanzo works from home - and Kuai attempting to pull pranks and/or just being a mischievous son.
13. Who points out a dog when they see one?
HANZO HASASHI, your ever-lonesome, touch-starved and animal-loving father. Even when he didn’t have a pet in his youth, there were so many stray dogs and cats around Shirai Ryu Compounds and he especially has fondness for the cats, because they are just like him.
14. Who’s prone to road rage?
In the modern verse, it’s Hanzo. He has been caught by fellow officers when he was speeding (of course, they all let him get off with a warning), and not even that will slow him down; especially when he’s on his motorcycle.
15. Who’s prone to wearing socks indoor (or to sleep)?
Neither in their canon verses, but Kuai in their modern verse.
16. Who reminds the other to put on sunscreen before going to the beach (or pool)?
Hanzo reminds Kuai, 1000000% times, because Kuai and the Sun don’t get along. Hanzo rarely gets sunburned, as he tans remarkably. Kuai on the other hand... needs to cover himself up with all that he could in order to prevent him from literally burning in red.
17. Who carries all the important documents while traveling?
Neither; whether in canon or other verses, they would never risk losing anything profound and substantial that could be used against them. Especially modern Hanzo, intimately knowing the risks involving identity thefts, frauds, blackmailing, etc that could get them in trouble, urges Kuai Liang almost every day to keep them either in the safe or leave them with him.
18. Who gets the window seat?
Neither of them are picky when window/aisle seats are considered, but since window seats are more comfortable in long flights and he likes to move around a lot especially in long-hour flights, Hanzo would most likely let Kuai have it.
19. Who puts their cold hands/feet on the other?
Kuai Liang. Because he’s the one with the cold hands and feet.
20. What do they argue about the most?
I don’t think they will argue that much, if not, at all, unless it’s Scorpion and Revenant Sub-Zero. Scorpion can be unnervingly merciless, acerbic and ruthless with his words, even towards the Revenant, whom he accepts as his most treasured company and ally, but nevertheless, his words will hurt Kuai Liang, because they are meant to hurt. Except that, I really don’t see them arguing much in their canonical interactions, and maybe in modern verse, it happens more frequently because Hanzo could come across as exceedingly protective and worried.
21. Who’s clumsier?
They have their moments, but Hanzo’s more of the sleep-deprived one with barrage of issues that would occasionally prevent him from carrying out his routine without having thoughts of suicide and other harmful actions, he may come across more lethargic and uncoordinated. Kuai Liang will immediately pick it up, even though he may not say anything much.
22. Who texts more often?
Hanzo in their modern verse. He is not a nagging father per say, but he does make the most attempts to try to connect with Kuai Liang, despite his hard-set habits and their generational gap.
23. Who is better with kids?
Hanzo, simply he has been a father before all the shitshow of his life took its place and he’s still yearning that long-lost fatherhood to become a tangible, fluid reality. Even with Takeda Takahashi present in his life, there’s that hollow void in his heart that couldn’t be filled.
24. Who’s the better cook?
Hanzo by far; regardless of their verses, he’s used to being in the caretaker’s position and enjoys the process of not only exploring, but developing his culinary skills. Both canonical and modern Hanzo will most likely use Kuai as his unintentional guinea pig, and knowing Kuai doesn’t like heavily pungent and spicy foods, he will try his best to make accommodations to satisfy both of their dissimilar palate.
25. Who mistakes salt for sugar?
KUAI LIANG. This man cannot cook for the life of him. Does he burn water on the stove?
26. Who puts the fork in the microwave?
Neither, but a sleepy Hanzo at 3am would.
27. Who cooks at 2 in the morning?
Modern Hanzo Hasashi. This man will push his body even beyond his limitation just to get his work done. Him being such an excessive workaholic helps him to disengage all the unsavory thoughts.
28. Who lets the microwave play the loud beeping sound at 1 a.m.?
Depends on who has the gnawing appetite in the wee hours of the morning, because in their modern verse, I can definitely see that they both are perpetual night owls and they will skip eating lunch and/or dinner either one is not present to cook or buy groceries (Hanzo seldomly does and will almost always opt out on delivery or takeouts) and they are too enraptured in their work. They have such one-tunnel vision when they are in their concentration, so most often, it would be both of them sharing leftovers.
29. Who licks the spoon when they’re baking brownies?
Neither. Hanzo doesn’t have much of a sweet tooth and Kuai Liang can’t cook nor bake shit. Maybe Kuai attempts one of those microwavable brownies with chocolate powder. The only thing he has to do is to pour milk in it and microwave it for a couple of minutes, but he may even struggle with that..... It’s cooking.
30. Who likes doing the dishes
Canon Hanzo finds chores somehow therapeutic. Doing them gets his mind off of things and he’s more or less used to the repetition. It keeps his mind grounded and anchored to reality.
31. Who has bigger cravings? What are they?
Again, entirely depends on their moods. Kuai Liang will have an occasional sweet craving that Hanzo will never fathom to understand, but he tries to accommodate his lover / his adopted son as best as he could - bringing sweets from work, stopping by the bakery or cafe to just satiate Kuai’s addiction, etc. - Hanzo cannot be helped when he’s depressed with alcohol - his preference being sake in canon and other strong liquors like vodka and whiskey, although canon Hanzo seldomly gets drunk for the sake of intoxicating himself, because he knows the consequences, and alcohol being a depressant. Modern Hanzo doesn’t give one single fuck as long as it doesn’t hinder his work ethics.
32. Who remembers what the other one always orders at a restaurant?
Hanzo, regardless of verses, will come up with a mental list of what Kuai likes and doesn’t like. While he could be poetic and eloquent with words, he attempts to be observant and perceptive with such things. After all, he is a ninja who HAS to acquaint and familiarize with not only his surroundings, but finding out about individual(s) as well. He will also attempt to emulate the dish personally, adding in some personal touches.
33. How do they eat ice cream? What’s their favorite flavors?
Hanzo doesn’t much care for ice cream either, but the only flavor he likes is matcha. He doesn’t do the lick and swirl thing most people do with ice cream; he will just bite off from the top, as if he was eating a granola bar. Prefers it without any toppings, and will eat it either in a cup or in a waffle cones. Kuai likes the sweet flavors, most likely fruit-based, and put all the sprinkles, marshmallows and fruit syrups all over his ice cream.
34. Do they go on dates? What are they like?
In their canonical setting, their ‘dates’ are limited to the confines of their clans, as it always has been their priority. They would most likely spar, exercise and meditate together, spend some intimate moments in their private quarters - copulations, cuddling, reading and painting and sculpting, pursuing their hobbies whenever they can - eating supper and drinking tea - Hanzo doing the cooking, Kuai preparing the tea - and in their rarest outings, perhaps going out to the nearest town for a dinner and strolling around the towns, introducing each other’s culture to them.
35. What do they smell when they smell amortentia?
Hanzo: saturated pine and evergreen of the Lin Kuei forest, cool, crisp and minty scent of Kuai Liang’s breath and the severe, yet welcoming damp earth and petrichor.
Kuai: charred dust, rust and copper, burning oak and maple, cherry blossoms, incense, sandalwood and musk, the salty trail of Hanzo’s sweat, iron and steel of Hanzo’s katana.
36. Which one is the secret snuggler?
Kuai Liang. Hanzo being a snuggler is not a secret, as he prefers to be the big spoon and the initiator about 95% of the times. Kuai’s gestures and initiations are careful, gentle and meek, but nevertheless, immensely appreciated.
37. Which one offers their jacket to the other when they complain they feel cold?
Neither. Not that both will ever complain about the cold, but in the modern verse, Hanzo will never be reluctant to give up his jacket if Kuai shivers in the cold.
38. Who reaches for the other one’s hand while driving?
Hanzo, regardless of situations, corporeal gestures are immensely important and pivotal in his relationship and the kind of relationship - platonic or romantic/sexual. Modern Kuai will reach for Hanzo’s arm and hand when he’s behind, embracing Hanzo from the back.
39. Who leaves little notes in the other one’s lunch? (Bonus: What does it say?)
Not that Hanzo will pack lunch for Kuai every single day, but when he does cook for Kuai, he will leave something short and sweet in Kuai’s language (Chinese, obviously Chinese and Japanese share many characters, despite phonetic difference). It would say something like “藕断丝连,” which means “Although the lotus root may be cut, its fibered threads are still connected.” Signifying that their friendship survived adversity and obviously connoting that it has become something more in their shared time spent together.
40. Who is the most affectionate?
It’s hard to compare, because they both are very reciprocative of each other’s affections to their fullest. At the first glance, Hanzo may come across as more affectionate, because he’s more used to initiating and giving gestures and words of love and appreciation. He’s also used to being in such relationship more than Kuai, who has never been a romantic/sexual relationship that deals a lot with gestures that are not meant to bring harm and suffering.
41. Who is the big spoon/little spoon?
Most often, it’s Hanzo being the big spoon, as his arms would be wound around Kuai’s midsection and around his neck (Hanzo’s arm being Kuai’s pillow), or Hanzo on his back with Kuai’s head on Hanzo’s upper arm. They don’t mind switching things around, either during sleep or when Hanzo starts to have an onslaught of nightmares and night terrors.
42. What is their favorite feature of their partner?
Hanzo: Kuai’s eyes. Even when Kuai’s more of the phlegmatic, collected and calm one, he knows that such embedded emotions spill forth from those oceanic sapphire eyes. He likes to look at them, stare at them, drown in them and just appreciate the depth they can offer.
Kuai: Hanzo’s arms; they are well-sculpted and hard like tempered steel. Hanzo obviously relies heavily on his upper body strength in kombat, and his build shows - while Kuai has more mass, Hanzo’s muscles are more finely chiseled. He also appreciates Hanzo’s lips; they are full and swollen, and absolutely kissable.
43. What is the first thing that changes when they realize they have feelings for the other?
They have really deep, baritone, gravelly (Hanzo’s) and hard voices that could come across as ruthless and harsh; but when they talk about each other, the timbre of their voices will soften, and there would be less polished intimidation and aggression embedded on their eyes.
44. What are their nicknames for each other?
Hanzo: beloved, dearest, ice bear.
Kuai: love, beloved, hearth
45. Who worries the most? Over what?
Even though they are two of the most capable Protectors of Earthrealm, there is an underlying concern of their safety and sustenance. They both have faced death and risen again, but they both know the chronology they have shared between them as Shirai Ryu and Lin Kuei rivalry reached its apex hadn’t been merciful and kind. Through their shared enemies now, they would do their best to protect each other from dying in battle.
Modern Hanzo would worry that Kuai will descend towards the life of criminality and sins, because of his traumatic abuse and violence he had to endure before being adopted to Hanzo. There is a fundamental yearning to see Kuai follow the footsteps of his legacy, as Hanzo too, had been a lawbreaker and misfit and had redeemed himself to become a better person.
46. Who initiates kisses?
Hanzo 100% at the beginning, but Kuai attempts his best to initiate and reciprocate Hanzo’s more natural engagement.
47. Who says I love you first? How did it happen?
Happened to randomly slip from Hanzo’s mouth during their walks. While he feared rejection and unreciprocated feelings, Hanzo would have taken the risk at least to admit the truth of his feelings, which had been both carnal, visceral, emotionally coalesced and linked. Essentially he was feeling that Kuai was his soulmate; for he possessed so many qualities Harumi used to have - a gentle strength, a strong, mature mind that would secure and anchor him, and would have seen him both at low and high, crossing each other’s paths so many times.
48. Who tells their friends/family about their relationship first?
Neither, not that they have families to tell. All the other acquaintances, friends and allegiances catch up on their relationship through observing and prediction. They are more or less bound to know each other and they are by far from being engaged in gossips
49. What do they do when they’re away from each other?
Hanzo will either draw or paint him on mulberry paper or in his sketchpad, bound in Japanese style (that he would always keep in his private quarters). He would sketch Kuai’s portrait, or do expressive croquis when circumstance allows him. Kuai often sculpts Hanzo in ice and and ponder upon the day when Hanzo gifted him the headband he wears.
50. Who gets overwhelmed by small acts of kindness?
Kuai, because he is still adjusting to non-threatening and vicious gestures and acts, and especially when Hanzo takes him into the utmost consideration by indulging his needs and desires.

POLYGLOT (3) / JJK
The prefix poly- comes from Greek and means “many” or “multi-.” The last part of the word comes from the Greek term glōtta, meaning “language” or “tongue." = a person who knows and is able to use several languages.
Word: I’m no writer and English ain’t my mother tongue, but I’ll try my very best to make this as great as I possibly can. I’ll try to be your polyglot and put my weird romantic dreams into words.
I’ve never experienced love like this on Tumblr. Thank you for reading, liking and reblogging my baby. There is also some more dialogue in this part, please don’t cringe while I’m still learning how to be as real life as possible.
Pairing: reader x Jungkook Genre: romance Warnings: none Word count: 2374 words
Summary: Your academic background consists of a wide range of languages. You only studied Korean with a linguistic point of view in mind, as Hangul is a perfect phonetic language. Learning a new culture and their music always excited you so when an opportunity arrises to be a translator in Korea you didn’t even hesitate for a second. No, you immediately booked your one way ticket without even being certain that you had the job.
PART (1) / PART (2) / / PART (4) / PART (5) / PART (6)
After the night you had all spend together it became easier for you to feel comfortable around them. They had shared funny anecdotes that had filled the room with laughter. They also talked about some of the hardships of being in their position, they can barely poop without someone noticing and stirring up a little drama. It drives them crazy from time to time but to them it is worth it. Which is the most important thing, you guess.. You could never live like that but you weren’t an idol. You were just you. Translating your way through the world.
“Y/N can you film our secret handshake?” Halsey asked you nicely. She and Namjoon had been practicing for what felt like hours. They had to create and perfect their little shake. You took her phone and started filming after giving a clear sign for them to start.
Your eyes wondered over to the youngest of BTS. He was holding Taehyung’s little dog while looking like a snack himself. He had just changed into a new set of clothes and the white T-shirt seemed to be handmade for him. Like his body was the only body allowed to wear that shirt. Yes, that shirt was that strong. Or maybe it was Jungkook. Halsey took back her phone and went to chat with Namjoon about something. Everyone seemed busy so you naturally gravitated toward the puppy.
“How cute.” Was the only thing you could say while holding out your hand to pet the little man. Your eyes looked pleadingly in the direction of Taehyung and he only seemed to encourage your behavior.
“You can pet him. He likes people.” His words were barely said and your hand had found its way toward Yeontan. You started to stroke it gently not wanting to touch Jungkook by accident. Which was really difficult as the puppy itself wasn’t that big. Every time you unexpectedly touched Jungkook’s arm you felt him tense up beneath your touch.
“He’s really tiny.” You said. Taehyung had left and you were alone with Jungkook. He looked a bit panicked while just nodding his head to your remark. “Do you think he will get any bigger?” You asked him curiously while your eyes remained on the little dog. You thought he was shaking his head but you weren’t sure so you looked up and your eyes locked for a second. The moment his brown eyes connected with yours he looked away. It felt like you were an ugly troll that couldn’t be directly looked at. You never thought you could understand the frustration behind the greek mythology character Medusa, but here you were thinking she had it easy. At least she turned people into stone while you had ti endure the awkward glance.
“You want to hold him?” He asked you while offering you Yeontan. You nodded your head and suddenly a wild puppy was in your arms. The little dog looked a little bit lost in your hold but started to relax as soon you started to pet him.
“He isn’t rea-“ you started to say but Jungkook was nowhere to be seen. Where did he go? Why did he leave you with a dog that is not yours and you had just met. Luckily for you Taehyung was a good father and immediately came to your rescue.
“He was needed for a little touch up.” Tae knew it was a lie and you knew it was a lie so did it still count as a lie?
“Yeontan is a real ladies man.” You said while Yeontan tried to lick your face.
“Yes, he gets all the girls. It’s a shame he will never know the real struggles and rewarding hard work to get a girl.”
“I don’t think you know either. You just have to get into the streets of Seoul and you can find a girl willingly to be your woman.” you liked to joke around and Taehyung seemed to enjoy your banter and played along.
“A willing girl is not necessarily what we seek.” He quirked an eyebrow.
“What is it that you seek my dear Tae?”
“I still haven’t figured that one out myself. When I find the answer you’ll be the first I’ll tell..” You both started laughing and Yeontan started to bark and reach for Taehyung.
“He’s a real daddy’s boy. Barely leaves your side for more than five minutes.” Taehyung grabbed the puppy out of your arms and started to kiss his little baby.
“It’s because he knows he has to cherish every moment with me as I’m more away out in the world than home.” He looked sad but the love in his eyes for the little dog were genuine. You were a bit jealous that he had someone to love so deeply.
“You really do know how to make a light and airy moment heavy with regrets and uncertainty.” You remarked.
“What can I say, it is a gift. I thought a European girl like you would appreciate my gift.” His smile returned to his face and it gave his eyes that extra spark. He was a really good-looking boy.
“Oh we do, but we also like to laugh. A European girl is even harder to decipher, or that’s what I’ve been told.” You both laughed but were interrupted.
“Have you dated a lot of people?” Jungkook suddenly appeared next to you and you had no clue where he came from and how long he had been listening. His eyes were desperately searching for yours.
“I’m in my twenties. Of course I’ve dated people but I don’t know what you deem as a lot and I don’t know what you consider dating.” You said bitterly. He did leave you fifteen minutes ago with a dog that wasn’t yours. Taehyung started coughing and Yeontan saw an opportunity to escape. Tae immediately excused himself with a huge grin on his face while running after his son. Jungkook on the other hand was quiet. He seemed to wait for more. “Have you dated a lot of people?” You asked him.
“I can give you the exact same answer as you gave me.” The conversation had to be continued as Hyun Shik entered the room and started to give orders.
“Please, let’s have fun for our last scene. When this is finished the filming will be done and history will have been made. Be proud. Stay strong and please don’t break anything.” He looked at Namjoon for the last part, who tried to ignore his last remark. Everyone ran to his position and you joined them toward the set. Somewhere at the side there was a chair for you to be comfortably seated in while the 7 boys and Halsey were working hard to get the dance right in front of the camera.
After the filming was done everyone was tired and it was already past one in the morning. Hyun Shik made its way over to you.
“Will you get home safely? I can drive you home so you don’t need to take a cab.” You could barely speak so you just nodded your head. You weren’t necessarily needed so early in the morning because Halsey was only scheduled after lunch but you felt the extra support was needed. He guided you toward the parking-lot with is hand hovering at your back. Once inside there were only three cars left as everyone had rushed home as soon as the shooting had ended. Only Jungkook was to be seen standing next to his car.
“Hey, what are you still doing here? I thought I saw you leave about half an hour ago.” Hyun Shik remarked after spotting Jungkook. He had changed into black jeans and a long black hoodie that hid his extremely well built body. It didn’t hide everything but you could imagine what was underneath.
“I live near Y/N so I thought I could drive her home.” He tried to look confident but you were sure he didn’t know where you lived and definitely not if it was close to him.
“Yeah, you are right. I live all the other way so maybe that is more logical. Do you mind driving with him Y/N? He does live closer to you than I do.” If you remembered correctly Hyun Shik only lived a ten minute drive from you which is definitely not all the other way, but you simply nodded. Feeling a bit excited to share a private moment with Jungkook.
“Let’s go.” Was all that the young boy stated and that was all that Hyun Shik needed to hear to start walking to his car alone.
We got into the car and we both fastened our seatbelts. He put the engine on and simply asked “So where do you exactly live?”
“I knew you didn’t know where I lived.”
“I remember you saying over at my place that it wasn’t far from were you lived. You didn’t want anyone to call you a cab or drive you home after dinner. So yes, I don’t know where you live exactly but I do know the area as I seem to live there too.” He tried to explain himself and you were surprised he remembered so much.
“Yes, we are practically neighbors. You can just drive home and I will walk from there.” The only reason you said something that dumb was so he could protest. A girl shouldn’t walk alone so late at night blabla, you can spot that exact scene in every romantic comedy. The real world is nothing like a movie and blame it on all the Korean TV-shows you had seen but silently you had hoped he would be more galant.
“We never got to finish our conversation from before.” He suddenly remarked.
“I didn’t know you could actually hold up a conversation with me.” Why were you so on edge? You felt so nervous and insecure it made you feel annoyed and the only outlet you had seemed to be him. Apparently he didn’t seem to mind your rudeness.
“I’m a bit shy around new people. I’m sorry.” You would be lying if his little confession didn’t make your ice cold heart melt a little bit.
“Well, what do you want to know?” His hands gripped the steering wheel a bit tighter, making his knuckles white. It was fascinating to watch him drive. His eyes were focused on traffic and it gave you a good chance to study his mannerisms. He couldn’t keep his fingers from tapping along to the music and his leg never stopped bouncing.
“What do you want to know as you were the first one to start the conversation?” On the outside you looked confident but on the inside not so much. You stopped looking at him as your hands seemed to be more interesting at this point.
“I’m just going to tell something about myself and maybe afterwards you can figure out if I’m worth it to talk too about this kind of things.” He looked expectantly at you and you simple nodded your head. He saw your nodding head as a sign to continue.
“Well, I have dated girls before. No I’m not gay but I definitely don’t mind if people are. I feel like being an idol most certainly impacted my view on dating. Sometimes dating might be locking eyes with the same girl at award shows three times in row. Or sometimes dating is meeting once and never even touch each other and you really want a second date but neither has the time. Sometimes dating is a quick kiss and touch in a barely locked room.” During his speech he never looked over at you. He only stared at the road ahead or at the bright red light in front of you.
“I don’t think your kind of dating is weird. Even if you’re not an idol, dating in your twenties is something like you explained. Sometimes you like each other but the timing just isn’t right. Sometimes the other person doesn’t like you and your just wasting time.” It felt nice to talk about something like this with him. You were scared the boys might’ve never really touched a girl or have never been in a relationship. It made you feel more at ease to know they hadn’t just thrown away their teenage years without some experimenting.
“I don’t want to waste time.” He silently confessed.
“Nobody wants to waste time, Jungkook. Sometimes you only know after everything is over that you could’ve done something better.”
“Have you experienced something like that?”
“On multiple occasions but it felt real when it was happening so I don’t regret a thing. Every crush or person I liked has left an impact. They made me who I am today.”
The rest of the car ride was silent. It was peaceful. You had both said what you wanted to say and the conversation you had started hours ago was finally finished. You started to recognize the neighborhood Jungkook was driving through.
“You can drop me off somewhere around here if that is possible.” You said after passing the entrance of your apartment building. He immediately pulled over and parked at the side of the road.
“I’ll walk with you. It is never safe for a young woman like yourself to walk alone at night in a strange city.” It felt like your heart skipped a few beats.
“I can walk alone. You don’t need to waste time and to be honest, this area of Seoul doesn’t feel as lonely as before.” He looked straight into your eyes and the whole world felt like it stopped. His eyes scanned your face while a smile crept on his face.
“i’m glad you’re feeling home but I could never forgive myself if I let you walk all by yourself so late at night.” He started to unbuckle his seatbelt and opened his door. “Let’s go Y/N.” Was the last thing he said before slamming his door and walking over to your side. You watched him stride over to your side. His hair was still styled but some strands started to have a life on its own in the wind. Never before had you seen someone so good-looking without any effort as him before, and it scared you.
“Will you please get out? It is starting to look weird just standing here by your door.” He said after opening your door. You finally got out of your trance and tried to get out of the car with your seatbelt still on. This got a laugh out of Jungkook and your face reddened. You tried to hide your blushing cheeks while unbuckling your seatbelt.
“So where do you live exactly?” He said while you got awkwardly out of his car. You simply pointed toward the right direction and started walking. It was only a five minute walk but it felt like hours. You stopped at the entrance of your building and turned your head toward Jungkook.
“Thank you for driving me home and also walking me home.”
“It was no problem. It is nice spending time with someone like you.” Blame it on the lack of sleep or blame the eyes of the boy before you for not thinking straight, but the following you really said and immediately regretted: “What is that even supposed to mean? Spending time with a subordinate?”
“To be honestI feel honored you chose me to drive you home. I know Hyung Shik lives actually ten minutes from your place and I feel like you knew too. So thank you.” The emphasis on thanking you. The wind blew your hair out of your face and there was nothing to hide your red cheeks.
“Thank you for wanting to drive me home. I’ll see you in a couple of days when we leave for America?” He simply nodded and turned around. You typed in the code of your apartment and started to get inside, but you didn’t feel like saying goodbye yet. You watched him walk slowly away. When you thought he wouldn’t turn around anymore you turned your back and walked inside the building.
“Wait!-“he quickly grabbed the door before closing. “What are you doing tomorrow?”

The Interesting Phenomenon of Shuri’s Popularity in White Fandom
Browsing the Shuri tag on tumblr is the most fascinating thing for me, because I have watched virtually all of the black female characters I love either be ignored or despised. So, watching the rare rise of a character like Shuri and seeing how fandom interacts and imagines a black girl it actually deems “lovable”?
...It is as fascinating as it is revealing. The righteous anger at even the smallest hints that she could experience love or desire. I even read a post from someone who claimed to be triggered at the possibility that Shuri could be crass or cuss. Checking that tag provides a nice little window into how society interrogates and limits a young black girl even when deemed acceptable/beloved as originally presented in-character. ...And it’s nothing new. Some background on where my head on this is... Back in the 1980′s there were two popular young black characters on TV whose popularity among white audiences and the qualities they zeroed in on, remind me a lot of how white fandom tends to package it’s “love and protection” of Shuri. Those characters are Arnold and Webster on the TV shows Different Strokes and Webster.
In those shows, the black characters’ main traits were sassiness, cleverness, cuteness, and quippiness. They had catchphrases that white audiences loved, they were intelligent and often they put white characters in their place or taught them something, but in the end, they were ultimately under the care and control of white families and certain boundaries were never crossed.
It always safe.
This “safety” was embodied by the neutering of the breadth and depth of emotion and experiences these characters got to have on their shows. Everything was limited to a child-like context. It was a method of whiteness protecting itself from these characters, but framed as protecting these black kids (sound familiar?). It’s a stellar example of the often passive-aggressive “polite” racism of whiteness, a common thread made so by their need to avoid getting that racist label; to keep that veneer of benevolence, even from acknowledgement within their own selves. It was such an important factor in these characters’ popularity, whether subconsciously or with that intent, that two actors with dwarfism portrayed these characters. Thus, these characters never aged. They were forever dolls under the subordinate care of whiteness. Limited to funny quips, sweet hugs, a forever cute exterior, and safe sass. These shows never had to deal with the full complexities wrapped up in inevitable growth and maturity. There was no puberty, no real anger nor desire, just faux anger, canned audience laughter reactions, and childlike crushes. “What you talkin’ bout, Willis?” was the “WHAT ARE THOSE?!” of that day and age. In a nutshell, they never had to deal with these characters’ growth into full experiences humanity has to offer. So, I’m saying that the condition of white fandom’s rare love and embrace of a black girl is to not be fully human. So many posts and comments about Shuri reflect a strange preemptive insistence that anything that strains beyond a child-like view of her somehow diminishes her. When it actuality that child-like view just provides a safe context for them to envision her. Shuri is most popularly seen as a giddy, clever teen, who smiles a lot and roasts her brother. ...But she’s more than that. She’s next in line for the throne and thus has been trained to rule the most advanced country on the planet(!). She is responsible for the design of the entire technological infrastructure of Wakanda. Do not mistake a fun-loving personality or being a typical sibling for a lack of maturity or responsibility, when the situation calls for it. Mind you, all of this was demonstrated in Black Panther. She guided Ross to shoot down weapons carriers (with people inside, driving them) while on the battlefield herself, fighting for her life. She had enough presence of mind to take the other suit for her own use, since she believed her brother dead. I do believe this character being portrayed by actress who is small-framed, styled semi-androgynously out-of-character, and dark-skinned, are qualities that I believe make it easier for fandom to keep her “safe” in their eyes. ...Keep her childlike and emotionally neutered. Since all of these qualities in the same person, have been rare to non-existent representation-wise in mainstream pop culture up to now. The conditions for their love, which will turn sour on a dime (I’m already seeing signs of that in the tag) is that she remains that meme they fell in love with. Remain the wide-eyed innocent doll they perceive with jokey/assist/~*friend*~ interactions with the rest of the MCU. They want to see her talk to Tony, Bruce, and Peter, but don’t be too mean or too smart! ~*They are equals. :))))*~
This passive-aggressive preciousness with which especially white female fandom handles Shuri, the insistent eye-twitchy flinch of her being “A CHILD!” is not “love”, it’s protecting themselves from the emotional distance they would feel, if she were a woman.
I can predict how fandom’s “love” will shift as the character of Shuri evolves and grows over time, given Wanda who also started as a teen in her first appearance in the MCU, and it won’t be pretty. ...But I hope that with some active self-interrogation, perhaps more people will question the real place their so-called protective limits come from.
#shuri#infinity war#black panther#meta#a respectable doll that solely makes you want to laugh at her or cuddle a doll version of her#is diminishing as fuck

Epilogues: Meat ch 18-27 [Epilogue 4]
So that happened.
In this chapter: a struggle over narration itself.
Dirk Strider has assumed control of the narration. Not unprecedented - Homestuck loves to put its narration in-voice for various characters - but in this case he’s making out that it was him all along, which has like, consequences I guess?
chapter 18
Dirk is narrating, and John actually notices sometimes - when Dirk uses words like ‘functional necessity’. But because Dirk has control over his internal monologue, the plot presses on.
It seems that just about the entire Furthest Ring has gone into the black hole, except for John maybe? Dirk narrates that John starts to blame himself for all this, and thereby decides not to go back to Earth C. He then directs John to find his dad’s wallet, floating in the void.
Despite what Dirk has said, he certainly has a different narrative voice to the preceding narration.
It’s notable that John seems to have some independence from Dirk’s narration. He can directly respond in dialogue to Dirk’s declarations, including to challenge them. Dirk’s power as narrator seems to be limited, not equivalent to the full powers of the ‘author’.
chapter 19
Dirk continues to narrate Jade giving an economic presentation to Roxy and Callie, on the subject of how Jane wants to basically recreate capitalist hierarchy, but on the new world, and that’s a pretty dreadful idea. She actually says the words “capitalist hierarchy”, and declares “none of that stuff works”... Homestuck’s politics seem to have changed, at least somewhat. (Perhaps due to Cephied’s influence..?)
Roxy is reluctant to get involved in politics, and concerned for Jane... and Dirk says something which I think will be important.
In the spirit of full disclosure, Roxy’s the only one left I haven’t been able to crack. Her mind remains a total enigma to me, just like it always has. If I had to guess, it’s her Void powers that make her invisible, even to increasingly omniscient parties such as myself. For all intents and purposes, it’s like her thoughts don’t exist. She’s the same person, as far as I can tell. She still wears her heart on her sleeve. But the bottom line remains: Roxy Lalonde is still utterly fucking inscrutable.
Anyway, then something else significant happens... Callie says they’re nonbinary.
CALLIOPE: yoU are absolUtely not an asshole!
CALLIOPE: i didn’t mind being called a girl. i still don’t really mind, it’s jUst not exactly... accUrate.
CALLIOPE: bUt i did take comfort in “being a girl” for a very long time. this is something i’ve only recently decided.
Roxy likewise says they’re enby too... this causes Dirk to have a bit of a meltdown.
I never would have guessed. Not that I’ve spent much time contemplating issues related to gender. I’m pretty secure in my expression of masculinity, and...
You know what? Fuck this. I don’t owe anyone an explanation of any sort on this topic. I’m confident with who I am, what I am, my gender, as well as my understanding of the concept. You want my honest opinion? It’s fucking fantastic. Good for them. Both of them, I mean, but also, both of them in a singular fashion, since each one can now individually be referred to by the conventionally plural word “them.” I’m ecstatic for this personal development they’ve embraced, for the people they are, the lack of gender they identify with, and the pronouns they prefer. I’ve got no problem with it whatsoever, and frankly, it’s fucking insulting anyone would ever imagine otherwise.
So yeah, I’m gonna allow it.
‘secure in his expression of masculinity’ was not the impression I had of Dirk personally, but I guess we’re going with this characterisation here.
For the rest of this chapter, Dirk keeps misgendering Roxy and Callie in narration - seemingly not deliberately, he swears and corrects himself shortly after.
There’s another interesting conversation where Calliope talks about how ideas of gender were, ‘circuitously’, transmitted to Calliope/Caliborn from watching Earth, and how these shaped Alternia (ok this one’s a little confusing because they didn’t make Alternia? though of course Doc Scratch did affect Alternia). So the system of gendered social relations is literally a “copy without an original” - Baudrillard was more right than he knew!
Anyway Dirk interrupts this discussion to narrate that Jade has a sudden vision of the black hole, and passes out...
chapter 20
Jade ‘wakes up’ in the furthest ring - was there a Dream Jade out here? i thought all the dream selves died but I don’t really remember anymore. Over here, she’s injured - she’s got a big piece of ‘the absence of a future’ skewering her.
Dirk narrates how she’s drawn towards the black hole - ‘the dead cherub is making her move’. At one point, his orange narration is interrupted by red text - the word ‘come’.
Of course, we now know that this dead Jade will fall into the Candy universe, where it will be inhabited by alt-Calliope. I am rather confused about how this came about though. Who’s this almost-dead Jade floating in the Furthest Ring? Why did Jade’s consciousness get shunted into her body?
chapter 21
Dave and Karkat are witnessing the first brood from the Mother Grub. Dave figures it’s kind of gross... and Karkat agrees after ribbing Dave a bit for being insensitive.
Anyway they’re here to try and win over Rose and Kanaya to the election campaign, only, they’re being predictably very Dave and Karkat about it, which is fun. Dirk’s narration is almost taking a backseat here... though occasionally stepping in to point to a trait of characterisation as why he’s going to win.
It’s nice to have Kanaya give some proper dialogue! She talks a bit about troll reproduction, the latent potential for fascism in both Jane and... Feferi. Which, fair.
Anyway Kanaya is rightly pissed about Jane’s plans for troll eugenics.
Dirk occasionally editorialises. Morality, he declares, is a cultural construct (complicatedly true so far as it goes) - it’s “pure ego” for them to think their morality will guide them to the “most effective” laws (that’s also a cultural construct you fucking idiot!)
Dave, continuing in his capacity to make everything as maximally awkward as possible, starts speculating about ectobiological ‘Rosemary babies’ (Kanaya has apparently not considered the term ‘Rosemary’ before, and declares that she hates it).
Kanaya gets concerned and calls Rose - and Dirk reminds us that she’s unconscious on his floor, and answers for her, but explains nothing. Because “John’s doing something important to the plot again” - and Dirk has to be there to narrate, I guess.
chapter 22
Keen to complete his full assumption of the role of ‘anime villain’, Dirk’s narration starts talking about breaking down the boundaries between people to become gods - to become ‘one god’.
Anyway, in this chapter, John bumps into Meenah’s ghost. She steals the Ring of Life that he previously took from Aranea while performing his current spate of retcons, and jumps into a ‘server’. (What did the servers do again? I don’t remember... ok apparently they’re just there in the Furthest Ring, as places people can store such things as wizard fiction and ~ATH programs on them...)
anyway it seems that Meenah can go through the door in the server somehow. presumably ending up in the Candy universe? idk. The wiki didn’t say a lot about what these servers do.
chapter 23
Not much narration, just dialogue. Kanaya arguing with Dirk, specifically. She’s not impressed by Dirk’s excuses (Dirk briefly interrupts to declare that she doesn’t really ‘understand’ Rose, even though she loves her) and sets out to retrieve Rose. Dirk keeps this a secret from Rose...
chapter 24
Minimum editorialising from Dirk this time. John floats around endlessly, and runs into... Terezi! Sure am glad to have her back :D
chapter 25
Dirk and Rose have an argument about... intimacy, identity, and other such philosophical things. Kirkegaard is name-dropped, and it comes out that Dirk (like me lol) gets most of his knowledge from Wikipedia, because obviously he grew up in a post-apocalyptic world...
ROSE: Who exactly were the academic cognoscenti of your era to determine which sources were deemed respectable?
DIRK: That would be me, obviously.
ROSE: Ok.
DIRK: I suppose you’re going to tell me you haven’t read enough Wikipedia articles on loads of scholarly shit to fancy yourself an elite academic by 25th century standards as well?
ROSE: No, I guess I have.
ROSE: I’d be one of the top intellectuals by that measure.
ROSE: A measure set by, I guess, literally one solitary self-absorbed teen boy for the express purpose of making himself feel clever.
DIRK: Absolutely correct.
They agree to have an ‘amateur philosophical debate’, which comes around to whether ‘free will’ exists. Oh boy. Dirk gets Rose to try to stand up, but then doesn’t ‘narratively allow’ it.
Dirk lectures her on the origin of her condition: the disappearance of boundaries in the ‘ultimate self’ amounts to an ‘unbundling’ of experiences (subjectivity, I guess) and the physical processes connecting to it. Dirk, supposedly, is strong enough to withstand this - so he offers to support Rose as she opens her ‘other eyes’, seeing what Dirk sees - presumably the ‘entire story’ that they’re in?
In this state, Rose is also able to see across into the Candy story. She describes both branches as a kind of ‘gross conceptual clumping’, comparing it to congealed sugar in a drink.
Dirk invites her to ascend - that she won’t be ‘her’ anymore, but ‘better’. This is described as an intimate process of perfect knowledge of the other person... and leads Dirk to start speaking possessively of Rose, his daughter in every respect, including ‘soul’.
Oh no Rose... this isn’t ideal :/
it’s funny, I have written before about such a ‘coming together’ of people, of ‘ascension’ in a similar sense, in my story ‘hacker’. but that wasn’t about assuming an ‘ultimate’, godlike form - the gestalt was a different person with different concerns, but not a ‘perfect’ person. here it’s a much more negative thing - a way for Dirk to take control over the ‘ultimate’ Rose.
chapter 26
Dirk’s narration seems to be perceptible, at least in some sense of inner monologue, to Jade. He’s trying to persuade her not to descend into the Black Hole (which, we now know to mean, the Candy universe) through his ‘metatexual’ messaging.
But he’s not succeeding. Alt-Calliope once again interrupts the narration at one point - and Dirk previously did not seem to recognise that it’s her doing it, but now he does.
In Dirk’s eyes, what he’s trying to prevent is a suicide. We know that going into the black hole is not suicide, but going to the Candy universe.
Notably when Dirk has the narration outright declare that something happens, that does not mean it takes effect in the way he describes. He is literally an unreliable narrator.
chapter 27
At this point, alt-Calliope and Dirk are outright fighting to contradict each other in the narration. (i’m gonna keep using ‘she’ pronouns for alt-Calliope, since to my understanding she’s a different person than Calliope)
alt-Calliope’s descriptions are adorably alien - referring to the ‘layers of flesh over her skull’ that maker her ‘expressive’, for example.
Apparently it’s not Jade occupying Jade’s body back on Earth C - the Meat!Earth C that is - but alt-Calliope. Alt-Calliope starts lecturing Dirk in the narration of the corrosive effect of his ‘megalomaniacal’ intentions. Somehow, she pretty much entirely shunts Dirk out of the narrator role. Dirk’s text - complaining rather than narrating - shrinks, and ultimately disappears.
There’s a fucking amazing moment when alt-Calliope gets Dirk going on a whole rant about katanas and how she’s supposedly metaphorically using them wrong.
But ultimately, what she’s going to do is just... ignore him. Or rather, talk about him like he isn’t in the room; use his metaphors, but do not allow him the dignity of response.
experiences such as the sensation of presiding over a vast, empty ocean. his ocean, which terminates with his horizon. it is a barrier, not real, but psychological, symbolic. no matter how much power he achieves as a man, he knows there are horizons he perceived as a boy which he may never cross. and yet i have crossed mine, with the express purpose of perpetually and eternally reminding him of his limits, and of enforcing them. limits, which like his vast, empty ocean, serve to remind him that he is phenomenologically, if not literally, alone. that he has experienced loneliness intimately and absolutely, just like i have. but unlike me, he is terrified by it. and i, unlike him, understand all too well that the children left alone are those who most despair at being ignored.
Epilogue 4, in summary
Damn. I can see why they call this the ‘meat’ route.
So.
Dirk has found some way to assert control of the narrative voice. In this capacity, he’s run roughshod over the various events trying to mechanically arrange them to achieve... some kind of end. But his carelessness in attending to the specific characterisations, instead of relating everything back to himself, somehow left him vulnerable to be excluded from the narration by alt-Calliope.
Whatever Dirk’s plan is, it seems to require... Jane and him to assume rulership of Earth C, and... what else? Well he wanted Jade to go into the Furthest Ring, but not to enter the black hole (because ultimately that allowed alt-Calliope to enter the narrative). He wanted John to do various ‘plot relevant’ things, like... presumably hand over the ring to Meenah, acquire the wallet, and meet Terezi.
Where’s all this going? Fuck knows lol!
We can try and talk about all the issues of identity, ‘free will’ and so forth towards the end, and the interesting attempt to connect that to gendered subjectivity, once we’ve taken in the story as a whole.

I have trouble writing and characterizing Plagg. Any tips and insight on his role ?
hehehe. I love this character dearly. Mainly because he seems so simple to write, but he’s got just a bit more than meets the eye.
At first glance, we see him the way Adrien does, a mysterious magical being who is really, really, really hungry and seemingly a little silly.
Seems sleepy (though he just woke up from a several hundred year nap, so we can’t judge here)
Seems a bit sarcastic
And hungry. XD As he zooms around the room, deciding what to eat, he seems to be equally carefree, only noting his own needs and agenda. (and I honestly think he’s having fun with Adrien here because of how often the boy has to try to catch him, but I digress. X’D)
(look at how confused this child is. X’D You can’t tell me Plagg wouldn’t find this at least a little funny)
Now Adrien’s just scurried up a wall, aimed, and caught this guy from midair and demanded answers. Plagg’s answer? Look as unimpressed as possible and give short and succinct answers which really only serve him, as Adrien is immediately confused after Plagg’s ‘explanation’. As soon as Adrien asks for clarification, this god of destruction asks for, as you’ve guessed it, something to eat.
So far, we see a self-serving, curious, sarcastic snot of a kwami who does things at his own pace for his own reasons. He’s already teasing Adrien (and barely knows the guy) and pushing him to see what exactly he can do. This is the main characterization of Plagg and it’s what most of us know at first sight. But this is his ‘light’ side, as I’d call it. Plagg’s more three dimensional than that, as shown a few moments later.
Upon thinking that Adrien would tell anyone, Plagg effortlessly escapes from the boy’s grasp (showing he was just too lazy to get out of there when it didn’t suit him) and raises to eye level to set the kid straight. While Plagg doesn’t do anything that he deems an inconvenience of a bother, he is willing to expend the energy on things that need doing.
Also, personal space? What is that? X’D
Here, we see Adrien being dramatic (we love him for it) and Plagg being... well, Plagg. (I honestly love Origins because it shows us so much of who Plagg is as a character. XD) Here, we see him entertaining himself with whatever he can find (in this case the toilet paper) and also subtly pushing Adrien towards a choice. He doesn’t sugar coat things or say “you can do it if you believe in yourself!” He says “Well, you aren’t going to do anyone any good if you just sit there and monologue like a shojou anime girl” (sorry, had to. X’D)
Also...
Plagg never goes into the ring willingly. He always finds some reason to not want to do it. Whether it be that he wanted popcorn (Puppeteer), was eating his cheese (I think this was Pharaoh), or wants a nap (Stormy Weather), he generally doesn’t go into the ring happily. Now, we can either see this as a form of comedic relief (and you can totally take it this way), but my headcannon is actually cemented in another episode.
Everyone knows this moment from Jacakdy, right after Adrien has a touching moment with his father, then has to break it due to keeping his secret. Even before then, Plagg stays on Adrien’s shoulder while he reminisces about his missing mother.
Additionally, in the Christmas episode:
He stays there and listens when Adrien really needs someone he can vent to. He’s not in the background, scavenging for cheese as his initial flippant nature might suggest, he’s not entertaining himself with something cute, he’s by Adrien’s side, allowing his kid to express himself in a world that seems to only repress him.
Plagg: still and respectful and, while it seems Adrien isn’t noticing, empathetic. At this point, it’s so painfully obvious that this kwami cares for his charge, and I’d venture to say that he’s cared for every one of his charges.
But Plagg isn’t just ‘silly and cryptic’ and ‘serious and quiet’. We can generalize those as two sides of him, but that’s not all he is.
For example, from Volpina we’ve got Plagg doing things his own way again. We as the audience know that the book is important, and that it’s important to get it from the house, but Adrien doesn’t know that. The thing is that Plagg does. He chooses the book specifically to throw at Adrien and get out of the house over the peacock brooch (I have a theory on that, but I digress). He looks silly, but he’s doing his own thing with his own reasons.
In the Christmas special, we go from Plagg complaining about hunger (which he always does, but this time makes Adrien worry a crud ton) to
Wishing him a merry Christmas. It may be nothing, but I think Plagg was being an overdramatic cat in order to get Adrien the rest of the way out of his anger and depression over the holiday. Adrien feels better afterwards and Plagg kinda hides out after that.
In short, I think Plagg does his own thing at his own pace when it suits him best. His goals seem to be to protect the miraculous and its holder, and his sub goals are to have fun, be a little snot in life, and eat as much good food as he can. He seems to genuinely like his gullible and kindhearted charge and loves to mess with him, but is also a mentor of sorts that guides him in his own way.
Basically, if a stereotypical cat could talk, it would be Plagg.
I hope you enjoyed this and I hope it helped! *^_^*

The return of blaxploitation: why the time is right to bring back Shaft and Foxy Brown
The 70 s genre is set to dominate big screens again with a slew of remakes and reboots. But where will these cinemas fit in contemporary America?
If it’s true that the past is prologue, then it’s also fair to say that we live now in an age of remix, remakes and reboots. Everything old is new again in this world of popular culture and social media, where the lines between past and existing are constantly blurred if not altogether invisible. On Instagram, we celebrate Throwback Thursdays while the daily drama that comes out of the White House often attains it seem as though we are literally being thrown backwards into a past that many naively thought was long gone or perhaps never existed.
Over the past time there have been several bulletins about new cinema and television services and facilities projects in the works that come from the age in the 1970 s known as blaxploitation. Remakes or reboots have been announced for Shaft at New Line, Super Fly at Sony, Cleopatra Jones at Warners, and Foxy Brown on Hulu, while new Taraji P Henson activity thriller Proud Mary appears to have been influenced by the genre as well.
Why so much contemporary interest in a motion from so long ago? The answers lie in several unexpected similarities that have emerged between this previous period and our present moment.
If we rewind to the late 60 s and early 70 s, we find traditional Hollywood studios were is difficult to connect. With black activists, Vietnam, campus protests and the counterculture predominating the conversation in Richard Nixon’s ” law and order ” America, watching the nightly news often seemed more compelling than attaches great importance to anything that might have been playing at the local movie theatre.
Hollywood, like nature, abhors a vacuum, so this is where blaxploitation discovered its lane. The emergence of cinemas such as Sweet Sweetback’s Baadasssss Song, Shaft, Super Fly, Cleopatra Jones, The Mack, Blacula, The Legend of Nigger Charley, Trouble Man and Coffy, all liberated between 1971 and 1973, offered black audiences characters, topics, music and style that was now consistent with the cultural moment off-screen. The chill, sexual, powerful, awareness, irreverent , nonchalant, quick-witted demeanor of these new ultra-hip films spoke to these audiences in a language that they both understood and enjoyed. At the same time, these low-budget productions produced high profit margins for the struggling studios and for a hour urban audiences of colouring and studio suits were pleased with the results.

In terms of scoundrels, blaxploitation films often featured resolutely evil racist white parodies, along with comically duplicitous black flatterers eager to sell out the race for their own personal gain. It was the job of the film’s protagonist to disclose and eliminate these figures who sought to destroy the community. Thus, blaxploitation movies had both a moral the objectives and a political mandate. It was in this spirit that audiences espoused these films as opportunities to “talk back”, to “stick it to the man”, while legislating righteous vengeance and speaking truth to power in dialogue that might now sound like a hip-hop diss way. These films were cathartic, funny and uniquely virtuoso at capturing the culture zeitgeist in a period of a newly free appreciation of black identity.
Before long, though, the haters would emerge, to rain criticism, disdain and distrust upon the cinematic parade constructing its behavior through the movie houses of black America. The actual term “blaxploitation” emerged as black critics of the cinemas suggested that these intoxicating images were like a racial sugar high, getting black audiences all hopped up on what the Last Poets referred to simply as” party and bullshit “. Further, even though these cinemas featured black casts and revolved around themes that resonated with black audiences, many of the creative personnel behind these cinemas were overwhelmingly white. In time, the phrase” black exploitation” became one word, “blaxploitation”, and before long this was the commonly accepted route to describe a range of films from a variety of different genres that were being lumped together under a moniker that constructed blackness the central component.
youtube
By the late 70 s though, as the dawn of Ronald Reagan’s original Make America Great Again era loomed on the horizon, blaxploitation was in wane. The studios had attained their money and moved on. There was Richard Pryor, of course, who had become a movie star, and the occasional blaxploitation movie such as Jamaa Fanaka’s Penitentiary in 1979, but in general black images on screen had gone from being abundant to virtually invisible.
Though Blaxploitation has always had its critics, the period still represents one of the most maintained periods of cinema featuring black themes and black performers of any in film history. blaxploitation is like a cultural warehouse, a sample factory, and a repository for reboots all rolled into one.
Yet the 1970 s were a long time ago, so how do these films remain relevant today? Upon closer inspection, one might ask, is this present moment actually that different from the 1970 s? In some styles the answer is yes, but in others it is suggested that what goes around was coming.
Consider the varied images of demonstration and resist that have emerged throughout the culture that were first spotted during the second term of Barack Obama, but have grown substantially since. The contested image of Colin Kaepernick and other NFL players, so-called ” sons of bitches “, taking a knee during the national anthem that remind us of John Carlos and Tommie Smith at the Mexico City Olympics. The clenched black fist once raised by Carlos and Smith and forever associated with the Black Panthers is now to so ubiquitous that it is even available as a dark-skinned emoji on your phone.
Obama’s dignified approach to the US presidency elicits the cinematic image of the iconic Sidney Poitier, the most popular actor in the country before the dawning of the blaxploitation era. Dignity, nonetheless, has been replaced by a kind of cultural barbarism wherein coded political slogans, such as Nixon’s ” silent majority” and “law and order”, have been appropriated and applied to the present as though we were stuck in a time warp from 45 years ago. Further to the point, current investigations conducted by Russian involvement in the 2016 general elections are now compared with Watergate on an almost daily basis.
youtube
But perhaps what is most analogous between the early 70 s and the present is the way in which blaxploitation films then were like the urban precursor to superhero movies today. Though the latter are set in an urban surrounding represents an real, the universe of these films was an especially fictional scenery.
The characters were cool, confident, physically dominant and defiantly anti-establishment, possessing “superpowers” often directly connected to their blackness, which allowed them to see through the bullshit of American life, while simultaneously use everything available to them in waging conflict against the evils of white dominance. Their flashy Eleganza and Flagg Brothers-inspired attires and extravagantly tricked-out autoes could certainly be called futuristic for that time. And the moral battles of good versus evil, with a distinct racial twisting in the first decade in accordance with the civil right movement, dedicated blaxploitation a meaningful purpose beyond “whats being” otherwise an elaborated though enjoyable fiction. Black audiences in the 1970 s awaited the next empowered blaxploitation movie the lane that contemporary audiences now anticipate the freeing of Black Panther. The trailer for this month’s Proud Mary looks as though it is a mash-up of both blaxploitation and superhero films.
Yet despite the deep affection that many have for blaxploitation, these movies were not regarded as” great cinema “. The the limit of what were often low-budget guerrilla-style cinemas were visible to audiences even back in the 1970 s. The appearance of boom mics on screen or people listing their zodiac signs next to their name in the credits were par for such courses. Audiences espoused them not in spite of this, but often because of it.
Part of the pleasure of watching these cinemas lies in the fact that you were watching something raw, unpolished, unsophisticated and, in many cases, unfinished. But that’s what stimulated it cool, this sense that what Hollywood deemed junk, black culture deemed wealth. It was not the power of Hollywood that stimulated blaxploitation significant, it was the power of the audience, the power of the people that transformed the genre into a culture force that continues to influence and inspire.
Contemporary film-makers now have the opportunity to create better movies than those that inspired them. If contemporary audiences respond to these new movies with the same enthusiasm that audiences is a response to blaxploitation back in the 70 s, then this is an indication an especially triumphant return.

Person
*All definitions from Google.
Person: A human being, regarded as an individual.
The definition implies that the word person refers to the separateness of a human being, so what makes them, them.
A list of the types of people I think exist (A person can be more than one, and in some cases, all of the below):
Idealists: A person who is guided more by ideals than by practical considerations.
(Ideals: A person of thing regarded as perfect or a standard of principle to be aimed at.)
Realists: A person who accepts a situation as it is and is prepared to deal with it accordingly.
Moralists: A person who teaches or promotes morality, and behaves in a morally commendable way.
Optimist: A person who tends to be hopeful and confident about the success of something.
Pessimists: A person who tends to see the worst aspect of things or believe the worst will happen.
Opportunists: A person who takes advantage of opportunities as and when they arise, regardless of planning and principle.
I believe that I am a mixture of all of these, I often dream up the scenario that I wish could happen and then tell myself to be more realistic and think of a more appropriate and realistic scenario. I am both an optimist and a pessimist, it depends on my mood and I am slowly learning to be an opportunist by choosing to do things in the moment rather than thinking about it and decide against it later when I've thought about it too much. I think I am also a moralist as behaving correctly is something I deem as very important.
I think that the majority of people are similar to this, so I created a survey. I got 10 responses. (The people will be numbered 1-10 in order to label their responses for each question when necessary.)

Know Thyself
After I took the personality test, I learned that I belonged in the ISFP community. This is not the first time I took the test. In fact, I once was classified as an ENFJ. Funny how time changes your personality and character. ISFP stands for Introversion, Sensing, Feeling, and Perception. People who belong in this ISFP classification are deemed as “The Adventurers”. They are to be seen as expressive, artistic, and certainly adventurous. They like to explore and discover new things with their creativity skills. Communicating and connecting people are also their strengths.
Definitely, I can say for myself that although I’m an introvert, I still like to connect with people. I agree when the assessment said that ISFP people would rather listen than to express. Perhaps, this what makes our being-introverts a bit ironic. In addition, it was also stated that our being-introvert show when we surprise our friends in time we try to space out from them. I have reflected those moments when I shortly stay away from the group whenever there is a gathering held and realize that somehow I have related to the assessment. When I try to be alone, it is true that I assess what I have done throughout the day; If I stick on to my beliefs and principle and if I have made someone feel better. Probably, from this habit of the ISFP people comes their abilities to recreate and reinvent themselves. I am open to recreating myself and relearning other important lessons. Not to really unlearn those that I have learned, but to bury those to give more storage for more modern lessons that are fit to the new generation. Personally, I think it shows how passionate you are in learning something. Other people might think the processes of relearning and reinventing exhibits how one can easily be swayed by information, may it be true or not. I also have related when I read that ISFP people value harmony, because I don’t handle chaos as well. For me, we have to be sensitive with other people’s feelings. I prefer showing support to people in public and talking to them in private, if ever the other person might have caused something wrong. In the future, of course I would want to save enough money for my retirement, but I value on the development as a person I will make more. Furthermore, the curiosity of the ISFP people are considered as one of their strengths, which I can also relate to. Whenever I see something new, I am always curious to know everything about it and if it corresponds to my interests.
Because ISFP people are known for their thirst to express themselves, they desire freedom the most in the workplace. The freedom to express their ideas from their creative minds. It is a dream for me to work in a place where hierarchy is not a hindrance for people to freely express themselves. For me, it would be comfortable working in a setting where leaders ask their subordinates about their opinions and on what else can they do to help and improve the day’s work. It’s not preferable for me to just box in my thoughts as I believe that if everyone contributes their ideas, a perfect blueprint will be made. I don’t find the conventional relationship between an employer and employee comfortable in a workplace. Exchanging thoughts and opinions is now a strategy to come up with effective and manageable business environment.
Certainly, employers are not the only ones who assess and rate your performance. One still needs to interact with friends, family members, and workmates. It is important for one to know the evaluation of his/her peers to further develop his/her abilities. The second test that I tried is called the 360 degree feedback system. In there, we rate ourselves according to our chosen context, friends, family, or work, and invite raters to answer a survey same I conducted. According to SelfStir, the website that conducted this kind of test, this is a method designed to help people grow successfully. It provides a safe environment where one can learn about him or herself from the eyes of his/her friends, family, and workmates. I tried assessing myself in all contexts. Based on the results I got in the context of family, I was able to realize that I am able to adapt to and embrace change and take ownership of responsibilities. Although I have a clear vision on the path and direction I want to take, I need to develop in expressing my voice and ideas clearly. In the work context, I have discovered that I value interaction in the workplace. I put significance on the opinions and suggestions of my workmates. Despite enjoying communication in the work setting, I still need to work on encouraging teams to open dialogues and trusting on people’s ideas and suggestions. Lastly, in the context of friends, it is clear that I am able to accept change and aware of the impacts that my words and actions create. I also have a clear vision on where I want to reach. Still, I need to clearly express myself and try to motivate my friends as well. Certainly, in those three contexts, it is obviously stated that I readily accept and adapt to change. I have already clearly envisioned on where I want to be, in whatever context. However, I still need to clearly express my thoughts as much as I enjoy interaction and communication.
I was able to relate to the results of the personality tests I have realized those habits of mine that I really didn’t notice before. While reading, I had those “That’s why” moments. I was able to understand some of my actions and certainly my personality. I also was able to compare myself from before as I already took the same test last year. I realized that some of my beliefs have changed. Before, I was an ENFJ. These people are deemed to be critical and prefers logic than feelings. However, now that I have seen and learned things, my principles began to change slowly. I guess just from there I can really classify myself as an ISFP since I was able to reinvent and develop myself further. If before, I believed that as a leader, one should really stick to what is believed to be right and scold someone who breaks rules, even though it can be hurtful; now, I consider the feelings and emotions of the wronged person. I have come to realize that being right and strict compliance to rules don’t make always someone successful. It also takes sensitivity and selflessness. Being open-minded enough to listen to your subordinates is a sign that one is an effective leader. Being right all the time means nothing if you can’t develop your employees and yourself as well. I have learned the significance of cooperation as a group. Furthermore, I also knew the importance of having to express the thoughts of oneself. I have always believed that life is short, so we need to make the moments counts. For me, every second should be a moment treasured, and situations where one freely expresses himself/herself is a living moment. This belief is also deemed as a weakness of the people. Because of the living-the-moment principle, ISFP people are believed to not think in a long-term basis, for the future. Living in the moment doesn’t mean you don’t think about the future. The results in the 16 personality test and 360 degree feedback system connected well because ISFP people like me, certainly thinks about the future, but the steps and paths in achieving that long-term goals, should be done carefully and enjoyed fully. I believe that reaching a goal without one enjoying and learning along way is useless. Based on the assessment about our attitudes when it comes to our workplace, ISFP people like a two-way communication and learning experience. That is why ISFP are suggested to take careers or jobs like veterinary technician, equipment repairer, fashion designers, massage therapists, or those jobs that require people to be sympathetic and attentive. Without a doubt, these jobs required skills match the strengths of the ISFP people. However, I wouldn’t want to limit myself in taking careers just because I was classified in ISFP. For me, the program that I’m currently taking up right now, which is Financial Management, surely matches my personality and skills. My program doesn’t only require critical thinking, analysis, and logic, because we also meet people who need advices when it comes to their finances. Being great listeners and having sympathy are also required in that job, since money is an important topic.
Apply what I’ve learned about myself through these tests as a future Lasallian leader, it is important for me, as an ISFP person, to first observe the environment. Because adapting to change is important for me, I need to look on how the people in a certain department act and operate. After that, I need to immerse and experience the environment myself. If the people I will be with enjoy communication and interaction, then I will. Finally, I have to reflect upon my actions and look on what I need to still work on. Simultaneously, applying what I’ve discovered in these tests will provide me ease in adjusting in each of the 7 conditions of learning.
Surely, these personality tests like this will help me in developing the leader potential in me. From these kinds of personality tests, I can somehow have an overview of my personality, my strengths and my weaknesses. Having this kind of knowledge will make me understand why I act on such a way and will help me understand myself better, in building relationships, in being employees, and in leading others. By these tests, I can assess where and when I am comfortable and what part of me needs adjustment. Of course, what’s written is not all accurate, it serves as guide, especially to aspiring college students like me, in taking our desired career paths. These personality tests also helps companies to arrange seminars that would address the areas of their employees that need work and development. They will be able to assess which skills the employees excel and need training and where employees should be placed. It help organization in their analysis and gives them signals on what to expect from each employee. These personality tests don’t really reflect one’s true personality, rather it serves as a tool in opening one’s character and attitude.

Know Thyself (Through the 16 Personality Test)
After I took the personality test, I learned that I belonged in the ISFP community. This is not the first time I took the test. In fact, I once was classified as an ENFJ. Funny how time changes your personality and character. ISFP stands for Introversion, Sensing, Feeling, and Perception. People who belong in this classification are deemed as “The Adventurers”. They are to be seen as expressive, artistic, and certainly adventurous. They like to explore and discover new things with their creativity skills.
I was able to relate to the results of the personality tests. I have realized those habits of mine that I really didn’t notice before. For me, ISFP people, like me, certainly thinks about the future, but the steps and paths in achieving that long-term goals, should be done carefully and enjoyed fully.
