Side Dishes You Must Try From The A La Carte menu Of Prego

If you have gone through the a la carte menu of Prego you must know we don’t just serve entree, main course and dessert, we serve some amazing house-made pasta and side dishes. When you are ordering a full-course meal from the a la carte menu, you need to choose the side dishes very carefully. The side dishes should go with the main course items you are ordering. In this article, I am going to tell you about the side dishes you must try when you are visiting Prego for fine dining.
Mediterranean salad
This is an amazing side dish that we serve at Prego. It’s very popular among our customers because of its health benefits. It is also known as Halloumi Salad. The halloumi salad we serve comes with grilled vegetables. We serve it with fruits too. If you are looking to eat healthy food then you must have this with your main course.
Fresh vegetables baked in wood-fire oven
Again, if you want to have a healthy meal, this is a side dish that can accompany your main course. You will get a plate full of fresh veggies that are baked in the wood fire oven. It gives the vegetables a smoky flavour and we hardly use some dressing, so that way the food remains low calorie. If you want to enjoy a low calorie but tasty side dish, then this is the one I would recommend.
Roasted potatoes with garlic and rosemary
Roasted potatoes are filled with potassium, low calorie and low cholesterol food. Besides, they taste amazing. Our roasted potatoes are served with some garlic and herbs like rosemary that bring out the best taste. Just like all our side dishes, this is another healthy choice. You can enjoy some crispy roasted potatoes with any kind of the main course that you are having. This is one of my favourite side dishes and it will always remain on my list of recommendations.
If you want to enjoy an amazing full-course Italian meal with tasty side dishes that are healthy as well, you have to visit Prego. Head to our website and check out our full menu for more information.

Must-Try dishes from the A La Carte menu of Prego

The French meaning of the phrase “A la Carte” refers to food dishes that are not a part of any set meal and can be ordered as separate items. There is not a chance of mix and match when it comes to a set menu but when you are opting for the A La Carte menu, you can go with your choice of entree, main course, dessert and side dishes. At Prego Restaurant we offer different menus to our customers and A La Carte menu is one of the most popular ones. We have an array of food items listed on this menu and in this post, we are going to tell you which ones are the must-try dishes from our A La Carte menu.
Trio of Bruschetta
Bruschetta is an Italian antipasto. In simple terms, bruschetta is an Italian appetiser that is made with grilled garlic bread topped with tomatoes, olive oil, pepper and salt. At Prego, you will get a trio of bruschetta that comes with different toppings such as sundried tomatoes, freshly chopped capsicum, and oregano. We highly recommend this to all our customers and this is one of the must-try if you are opting for the A La Carte menu of Prego for the first time.
Baba Ganoush
Baba Ganoush is another starter served at Prego. It is a Lebanese appetizer made with eggplant. It is similar to hummus which is another famous Mediterranean dip. The difference between these two is that baba ganoush calls for roasted or grilled eggplant instead of chickpeas. Other than grilled and mashed eggplant it consists of olive oil, salt, different seasonings, lemon juice, onions and other veggies. If you are trying our bruschetta, this is a must-have with that.
North West Calamari Fritti
This is one of our most popular entrees. If you are not familiar with the name let us simplify this for you. Small squids are called calamari and Calamari Fritti basically means battered and fried squids. This is one of the most classic Italian sea-food dishes. These are small crisp golden rings of squids that are tender and taste the best with a small amount of squeezed lemon juice. At Prego, we serve Calamari Fritti with mixed salad, capers, Spanish Onion, chilli and lime aioli.
Beef fillet aged tenderloin
If you are a fan of steaks then you have to try our beef fillet aged tenderloin. We serve aged tenderloin that enhances all the flavours as well as the taste of the meat. Tenderloin is one of the most tender cuts of beef fillet and we at Prego serve it with baked eggplant mousse, red wine jus, and roasted potatoes.
Tiramisu
Tiramisu is a classic Italian dessert made with coffee and ladyfingers. It consists of ladyfingers dipped in coffee with a layer of whipped eggs, sugar and mascarpone cheese. This is one of the desserts in Prego that is loved by our customers. So, if you are visiting us for the first time, you must try our classic Tiramisu.
We hope you will like our recommendations. Prego has one of the best A La Carte menus in Perth and as a leading Italian restaurant, we serve the best to our customers. Book a table and visit Prego. For more information check out our website and social media handles.

3 must-try healthy dishes at Prego: A famous Italian restaurant for fine dining in Perth

We love Italian cuisine and it is not always possible to count calories while we are enjoying the food. Most of the Italian restaurants for fine dining in Perth serve cuisines that are not just tasty but dipped in cheese and cream. Many of these food items can be high in fat, carbs, calories and sodium. You will also notice the serving sizes are often huge. Many restaurants offer unlimited breadsticks which can be hard for you to resist!
In this article, I am going to tell you about a few delicious yet healthy Italian delicacies that Prego Restaurant offers. Team Prego believes that fine dining can be offered in a healthy way. So, in our set menu, a la carte menu, Saturday set menu and degustation menu, we have added low-calorie Italian cuisines that will take care of both your taste buds and health.
1. Bruschetta
This is an Italian antipasto and if you are a true fan of Italian cuisine, you definitely know the meaning. It consists of grilled garlic bread, with strewed olive oil and toppings like tomatoes and herbs. You will find quite a number of variations in the toppings. Typically a serving of bruschetta will add up to 28-30 calories. At Prego Restaurant, we have added a little twist in the preparation as well as the serving style of this traditional Italian cuisine. We serve a trio of bruschetta with roasted capsicums, sun-dried tomatoes, olives and fresh oregano or baba ganoush. It is definitely a low-calorie appetiser and it will give an amazing start to your meal!
2. Gnocchi
This is another healthy Italian food option. You will find it in almost every Italian restaurant in Perth CBD, Western Australia. This is an Italian pasta that is often made of mashed potatoes, flour and eggs. But we have made sure when you visit Prego, you get to taste it in a different way. It is a healthier alternative to traditional Pasta. Yes, I know you cannot avoid potatoes so, Prego came up with an innovative idea to serve a compact and healthy meal. At Prego, you will get house-made Gnocchi. The twist that we have added is seafood! Here Gnocchi is served with seafood like calamari, prawns. Bottarga and cherry tomatoes are also used for preparing this healthy dish. Sounds delicious right? It tastes delicious too! Try it, taste it and you will start craving for it even more!
3. Risotto
Whenever I hear “risotto”, I can only think of indulging my cravings through a creamy delight. I never thought of risotto as an unhealthy Italian food option. If you ask me, I would say, indeed it is a healthy Italian cuisine. Risotto is basically rice cooked in meat or vegetable broth until it gives a creamy texture. It might contain butter and cheese too. You will find risotto while scrolling through the a la carte menu of Prego. Here we serve the risotto with a little twist too. You will get pine nut risotto and charcoal-grilled prawns. It is served with roasted quail in vine leaves and avocado salad. So, if you are craving some Italian cuisine but also want to keep the calories low, this is the option you go for!
Conclusion!
If we start to talk about healthy Italian food options, there are plenty of them. In this article, I have mentioned just three Italian dishes that we serve at Prego. These cuisines are both healthy and lip-smackingly tasty! If you are trying to maintain a healthy diet, try ordering these when you are visiting Prego Italian restaurant for fine dining in Perth, Western Australia.
At Prego Restaurant you will get authentic Italian cuisine in a fine dining environment. So, next time when you are planning on visiting the best Italian restaurant, visit Prego! Check out our website to know more about our menus.
