Difficulty:

Journeyman alchemy. While this recipe is not taught by alchemy trainers, there is a chance that Greatfather Winter will gift a copy of this recipe to good alchemists who behave themselves all year long. After which, the alchemist in question may receive the recipe in a Smokeywood Pastures present.

You Will Need:

One wide-mouth jar or beaker.

One whole Khadgar's Whisker hop.

Fresh water.

One whole Dragonsteeth leaf.

Matches, a lighter, a burner, or other source of open flame.

One crystal vial, for bottling.

Brewing in single-vial batches recommended for accuracy.

It should be noted never to ferment Dragonsteeth with Khadgar's Whiskers. While most brews involving the hops are fermented, Dragonsteeth is highly reactive and should not be fermented. Reported results include the fermentation container freezing, combusting, or exploding. The resulting fermented product was completely useless as well.

Recipe:

The brewing of an Elixir of Frost Power is a delicate and precise alchemical process requiring meticulous preparation of the key ingredients - Khadgar's Whisker and Dragonsteeth.

1. Procure and prepare one hop of Khadgar's Whisker.

Upon closer inspection, one can see that the herb's blades are viciously serrated and taper to keen, blood-red points, giving it the appearance of a dragon's maw dripping with the blood of their latest kill.

Dragonsteeth, a sage herb of great scarcity and value, requires a delicate and respectful approach for successful gathering. It must be asked permission before any leaves can be collected, a process that involves patiently waiting for the herb to willingly shed its foliage onto the ground below.
