Filmmaker James DeMonaco is the writer, director and producer of many of the films in “The Purge” franchise, including the TV series.
"When I set out to create The Home, I aimed to capture the spine-chilling eeriness of 70’s horror, where suspense simmers and ultimately erupts into glorious chaos,” explained director James DeMonaco. “Joining me is my Staten Island brother, Pete Davidson, who unveils a darker, dramatic side as his character navigates a bizarre group of residents in an old age home. The growing tension culminates in an epic blood-soaked finale, designed to leave audiences gasping, terrified, and cheering. I can’t wait for everyone to visit The Home. Cover your eyes, folks."

More than 50 rabbis and cantors, including leaders of some of New York City’s most prominent synagogues, signed an open letter Tuesday asking Mayor Eric Adams and New York Gov. Kathy Hochul to protect immigrants from the Trump administration’s planned mass deportations.
The letter, the latest in a succession of recent statements by Jewish leaders opposing President Donald Trump’s policies, comes at an unprecedentedly fraught time in the politics of New York City and state. The Trump administration has moved to drop corruption charges against Adams so that he will be able to help the Trump administration’s crackdown on undocumented immigrants.
The arrangement has led to a cascade of resignations at top levels of city government and beyond along with mounting calls for Adams to resign — which he has rebuffed.
And relations between Hochul and Adams aren’t exactly tranquil. The evening before the rabbis’ letter was published, Hochul said she would be meeting with “key leaders” to discuss taking the step of removing Adams from office, which no governor has ever done in the state’s history.
Against that backdrop, the letter asks Adams and Hochul “to be the leaders we desperately need at this moment, and do all you can to resist Trump’s terrifying anti-immigrant agenda.” It does not reference the controversy surrounding Adams.
The letter calls on the mayor and governor to “restrict” immigration raids in schools and houses of worship, which are now permitted under new federal guidelines. It also calls on the leaders to refrain from sharing information with Immigration and Customs Enforcement and to not use jails to detain immigrants. And it hearkens back to American Jews’ immigrant heritage, particularly in New York, as well as past antisemitic persecution.
“We also know in our bones and from our modern history the danger of an unchecked xenophobic government scapegoating ‘outsiders’ to gain power, preying on a population experiencing hard economic times to gain support for a violent and destructive agenda,” the letter said. “We will not stand by while history repeats itself. You, our state and local leaders, must not either.”
The letter follows others signed by Jewish leaders or organizations opposing Trump’s or Republicans’ policies on transgender athletes, mass deportations, Gaza and diversity, equity and inclusion, or DEI. Jewish groups have also joined lawsuits challenging Trump’s immigration actions.
The letters signatories hail from the Reform, Conservative and Reconstructionist movements, and include leaders of large synagogues such as Temple Emanu-El, B’nai Jeshurun, Ansche Chesed, Congregation Beth Elohim,  Forest Hills Jewish Center, Congregation Beit Simchat Torah, Society for the Advancement of Judaism and others. Not all rabbis who signed appended the names of their synagogues.
The letter was organized by a consortium of progressive Jewish groups in the city, including Bend the Arc, the Jewish refugee aid group HIAS, Jews For Racial & Economic Justice,  New York Jewish Agenda,  the immigration advocacy group Never Again Action, the liberal rabbinic human rights group T’ruah and The Workers Circle.

Amazing!!!
#Repost Make up Artist Richard Martin on Facebook : "Now #thedayofthejackal is out in America, I can finally start showing the work we did on the series I can't explain how proud I am of the work we did on this and will be forever greatfull for the opportunity to be Prosthetic Designer to Mr Redmayne for this show.
In episode 1, I was tasked with creating Ralph Becker. A heavy smoking down and out janitor. Director Brian Kirk explained it was to be the opening scene, and he wanted Eddie to be completely unrecognisable. He also had to face the real Ralph Becker who he had killed, so we had to create a full Becker dummy which was very exciting.
Here's Eddie in his Becker disguise without his aged contact lenses. I'll post more behind the scenes on how we created the make up and the body next week.

(JTA) – A global bestseller by a Jewish Holocaust victim; a novel by a beloved and politically conservative Jewish American writer; a memoir of growing up mixed-race and Jewish; and a contemporary novel about a high-achieving Jewish family are among the nearly 700 books a Florida school district removed from classroom libraries this year in fear of violating state laws on sexual content in schools.
The purge of books from Orange County Public Schools, in Orlando, over the course of the past semester is the latest consequence of a conservative movement across the country — and strongest in Florida — to rid public and school libraries of materials deemed offensive. While the vast majority of such challenged and removed books involve race, gender and sexuality, several Jewish books have previously been caught in the dragnet.
The Orange County case is unusual for the sheer volume of books removed — 699 including some duplicates, according to documents the district provided — and for the unusually large number of books about the Holocaust and Jewish identity included among them. They included:
“Suite Française,” by Irène Némirovsky, a Ukrainian-French Jewish writer who wrote her novel in secret under German occupation before perishing in Auschwitz
“Herzog,” a semi-autobiographical novel by Jewish writer Saul Bellow, an outspoken cultural conservative whose son Adam Bellow is a publisher of right-wing Jewish books
“Black, White and Jewish: Autobiography of a Shifting Self,” by Rebecca Walker, feminist theorist and daughter of author Alice Walker, whose own antisemitic comments and writings have faced scrutiny in the past
“Bee Season,” a novel about a high-achieving family of Jewish scholars and cantors, by Myra Goldberg
“The Splendid and the Vile,” a nonfiction history book about Winston Churchill’s decision to fight Hitler’s forces during World War II, by Erik Larson
The collected plays of Lillian Hellman, a Jewish playwright and left-wing activist who was accused of Communist activities
“The Storyteller,” a novel dealing with the Holocaust by bestselling author Jodi Picoult
“The Reader,” a German novel about the aftermath of the Holocaust by Bernhard Schlink
“Sophie’s Choice,” a bestselling novel also about the aftermath of the Holocaust by William Styron
“The Freedom Writers Diary,” a nonfiction compilation of several high school students’ diaries inspired by their teachers’ efforts to instruct them on the Holocaust and Anne Frank
“Books are removed from classrooms with deference to House Bill 1069,” district spokesperson David Ocasio told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, referring to a Florida law signed this year that heavily restricts instruction and classroom materials about human sexuality.
No individual reasoning was given for each book’s removal, but Ocasio said that all of the books had been marked as “not approved for any grade level.” He added that every book will go through a secondary review to determine if it will be restricted to certain grade levels or “weeded from the collection” altogether.
Some of the books on Orange County’s list have come under scrutiny in the past for removals from other districts. “The Storyteller” was the subject of widespread press coverage after a member of the right-wing activist group Moms For Liberty successfully pushed for its removal from a different Florida school district earlier this year. “Sophie’s Choice” was recently removed from a third Florida school district at the behest of a Jewish parent’s challenge; both parents said their challenges were due to sexual content.
Other outwardly Jewish books on the list, including “The Reader” and Philip Roth’s “Portnoy’s Complaint,” contain explicit sexual content. Non-Jewish World War II novels “Slaughterhouse-Five” and “Catch-22” were also pulled.
Among the hundreds of other books flagged for removal in the district were frequently challenged books like “Gender Queer” and “The Handmaid’s Tale,” as well as literary standards like Milton’s “Paradise Lost” and Maya Angelou’s “I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings,” and children’s fare like a book based on Disney’s “The Incredibles.” Some items were listed more than once.
Other districts in Florida this year have pulled an illustrated adaptation of Anne Frank’s diary in order to comply with the state law.

8! Its a good crunchy number
8 - I'm Gonna Win by Rob Cantor
I LOOOOOOOOOOVE THIS ONE!!!!!
I actually have a couple characters i associate this song with!!! The very first one that comes to the top of my head is Cellbit like SO HARDCORE.
I'm still new to cellbit's lore but like the general kind of military veteran vibe the song gives off is definitely ringing his bells for me. The lyrics also just scream cellbit, not even specifically q!cellbit, i can apply it to like any time in his lore (hg!cb, etc) but more specifically its definitely giving me like pre-purgatory mid-serial killing vibe!!!!
Tumblr media
These lyrics are like screaming cellbit's relationship with the federation to me, like specifically cucurucho with the torture hallway and the "Welcome to the QSMP census bureau" shit but also its definitely giving like where his mind might've been when he learned Bagi was his sister, sort of a burning anger or hatred/resentment when confronted with feelings of abandonment or confusion, ykwim???
Tumblr media
This section to me is definitely reminding me hardcore of when he spoke about how he had tried to be better than the person he was on the battlefield/in prison! An initial reaction of giving up followed by an adamant picking himself up again, obviously followed by all the serial murder lol. The second half specifically definitely ties me to his physical appearance, taking his coat off and how we could see all his scarring along his arms + the blood coating him!!!
Tumblr media
This last section in particular definitely reminds me of that conversation he had with bbh when bad was confronting him about the serial killing, the soft and kind tone contrasting with the rest of the song and kinda breaking thru the chaos only to be drowned out again by this determined mantra of victory thru self destruction!!
The stanza(verse?) doesnt end on a sour note either despite going back to the original abrasive tone of the overall song, definitely reminds me of how that interaction went as opposed to how it ended with Bagi's confrontation (He seemed still willing to accept bbh on his side of the battle rather than how he immediately assumed bagi would be fighting against him)

As pessoas gritavam: ‘Tirem-me daqui, estou viva.
