Ok, so, funny story. This isn't a new comic book concept. It happened with Thanos in 2016, the Thanos Wins arc, where the cosmic ghost rider (Frank Castle, I'm pretty sure. Wild ass iteration of a wild ass character) dragged him millions of years into the future to see King thanos, who he deems as pathetic and disgusting. Amplified when King thanos resorts to begging for his help to kill the worthy silver surfer, the last man ever.

Now, why does this happen? It's because Thanos, millions of years into the future, clings onto the idea that Death will love him if he proves himself worthy, breaking and molding himself to fit a certain shape so he's finally accepted and loved, even though he's never going to receive that love, and Death actively resenting him

Sound familiar?

It ends with (relatively) young Thanos promising never to become this pathetic, stealing the time stone, and he ends up erasing that timeline.

King Thanos was a beast. He killed everything. Not even exaggerating, literally every being in the universe. The Avengers, different alien planets, the celestials, his throne was made of galactus' skull. That man was terrifying. But no matter the feats, him clinging to love that will never be requited makes him a pathetic loser because of his lack of self-respect.

It's one of my favourite what ifs in comics, and I found it really fucking entertaining. Also, Thanos never realising his full potential and not being able to wield the infinity gauntlet for too long purely due to his self-hatred is a really good parallel.

i will not even lie to yall life has been a handful, BUT WE PERSEVERE!!!!! finally graduated, onto bigger and better things, and i got a little more time in my pockets. not too shabby!

but enuf about me, marvel rivals has claimed yet another future gambler, and with such a cool artstyle, how could it not! I decided day one that adam warlock was gonna be my main and by jove have i stuck by him. through thick and thin, he is my ⭐️ golden boy ⭐️ (haha get it because) that said, a few too many characters sport a dramatic edge worth-style haircut so i changed it up a bit, and tweaked the eyebrows, with inspiration drawn from gotg3 :))) idk what hes pondering i recall doing this pose myself and then my brain said wait… say that again…..

naturally below the read more is a bonus, doing some hypotheticals such as, ‘what if adam warlock was pop icon sabrina carpenter’ and ‘what if he wore one of them bodysuits’ what can I say i am an innovator

not a request, but im combining my marvel rivals and lads obession

lets say mc (us) gets addicted to marvel rivals and convinced the guys to join, we have enough for a full team, i think;

sylus is a tank/dps main, specifically emma frost simply bc if sylus was a woman he would be like emma frost, the minute someone tells him that he’s 100% adopting that as his personality (also partly based on the fact that sylus decides to use his fist despite having warehouses of guns). i also think sylus is disgustingly good at dps like bucky, punisher and hela. when he has no one else to play with he gets luke and kieran to trio into matches with him, they have a family game night and its just marvel rivals every other week or so.

rafayel, based on his fighting style as GotT and abysswalker he’d gravitate towards loki and psylocke..? but he like knows how to play invis woman and jeff too. he’d try human torch bc of his flames. yes im making rafayel a strategist main. someone has to be a strategist main but he refuses to play that role alone so someone will have to play as strat with him (i volunteer so hard, id even buy the president loki skin for him 🙂‍↕️)

caleb, i have headcanon him as a spiderman fan ever since fanart of him as spiderman started popping up on my feed, he immediately tries to get good at spiderman, and not just peter but peni AND venom as well, he probably would have a lord icon of all of the spider people if possible. i can see caleb getting a hold of the game before us/mc and him being the reason the we all get addicted.

zayne, being a doctor and surgeon is already stressful i dont think he’d enjoy playing strategist as much bc he already stressed abt keeping ppl alive as a doctor that being said he did learn how to play luna just bc she has ice powers like him. i see him as a flexible kind of player player so i think he knows how to play every role so he’d switch to luna if needed. its kinda hard for me to think of who he’d main tho. however! i think he’d enjoy tanks like dr strange, magneto and peni purely for their slower gameplay compared to the multicolored mess every fight is

xavier…he’d be a disgustingly good dps diver that knows how to play as dive tanks too and i’d hate it. i don’t think he’d main iron fist or spider man but i do think he plays psylocke, magik and black panther. if needed as a strat, he’d pick adam warlock or cloak & dagger and somehow get the same amount of kills as the dps players. i’d actually hate it even more if he was an iron fist or soiderman (im a traumatized luna main 💔)

me personally, i only play strategist (mantis main here i just reached lord for her like last week im so happy) so i can see mc being a strategist ........ also bc i can see the boys protecting the HELL outta us and always running to us for heals ... we def make them ask nicely too lmao let's be real (also my fav thing to say as mantis is "sleep bitch!" whenever i throw the nyquil bomb at them lmfao)

sylus is 100% a tank. he DEF loves emma solely because of her being able to turn into diamond form and being able to choke people out. i feel like he only plays DPS when there's a mission to do for the tokens & free skins. he totally plays as bucky or namor fr he'd be deaaaadly as namor fr

raf just screams loki to me. he doesn't even heal, he just runs around the map while invisible and sets up clones everywhere. when we yell at him that's when he starts to heal. i can totally see him as human torch too! he would be the jeff player, though, that swallows the entire map and kamikazes off the edge and just. kills everyone. including his team. he definitely gets put in the corner for that ("bad raf! bad raf!") also that happened to me recently where my jeff spit me out the map so if you wanna see that i can post the clip on my account lmfao it was hysterical

caleb is the spider-man king yes but i also feel like on the days he sucks, he claims that he's acting "in character" because spider-man "doesn't kill" ... he def gets the controller thrown at him LMFAO but i can also see him being disgustingly good at star lord when someone insta locks the spidey roles (or when everyone bullies him into changing)

zayne is def the most well balanced player like you said, he can fill in and play any role with ease! i love the luna mention, though! it's so iconic. whenever he plays a healer he always says "i have the hippocratic oath to uphold" then proceeds to get the most kills & mvp. and ngl ... zayne as dr. strange would be so deadly. he'd do the portal trick and kill the other team immediately. just deadly.

xavier is the scariest person to play against let's be real here. he's 100% a diver and YOU NEVER SEE HIM COMING. HE IS IN THE WALLS AND YOU CAN HEAR BLACK PANTHER'S LIL MUSIC CUE WHENEVER HE'S AROUND IT IS TERRIFYING! he plays in complete silence, too, and only does like those huff of air laughs whenever he gets a kill / ko streak. he would KILL as adam warlock and ALWAYS revives the team at the best time possible. never dies as him too. xavier, to me, never dies in the game or when he does die, he only dies like two or three times tops. no more, no less! i also feel like he would be really good at moon knight too ... with the anks that nobody can find ... just a powerhouse fr

i feel like they have a rivals gc and they only ever go to sylus' base in the n109 zone because he has all the best screens (and he gives us the biggest screen & comfiest chair lets be real ... tells the other boys to suffer) and he puts luke & kieran on snack duty & even lets them play whenever someone needs a bathroom break or just a break in general

perhaps i should write a one shot for this ...

but TRUST i will be writing marvel rivals fics soon okay i already have a few planned up my sleeve muehehehe

One of my favourite things about this picrew is the skin details, so if you'd like to keep your changeling's skin pristine and unmarked you can do that but if you, like me, like to add subtle interest you can apply subtle grey blush and vitiligo like I've done in the example images. There are also scars, wrinkles, freckles, facial hair and goliath-esque markings, all of which can be layered over each other. Clothing options are versatile and there are some great accessories too!

Only one gender-neutral body type for this one but it somewhat makes up for it with 7 face shapes to choose from. This picrew is greyscale so if you want to make a changeling who dresses in colourful clothing or accessories this might not be the best choice. However the options for pure white skin and hair and solid colour eyes work really well for changelings. Clothing choices lean a little modern but there are options that work for high fantasy and historical settings too.

What if Gamora was in Rivals?

Gamora is the deadliest woman in the universe and an iconic member of the Guardians of the Galaxy. While there are already a variety of melee heroes in Marvel Rivals, including a few I've made abilities for, I think she would be a good addition to the roster.

Class: Duelist

As the deadliest woman in the galaxy, it's hard to argue Gamora would be anything other than a duelist. She's a master assassin and highly skilled combatant, but her lack of diverse powers makes her a bit tricky to work with. However, her brief stint as wielder of the time gem with the Infinity Watch did give her some residual powers that I can expand on. Rivals has certainly done more with less in a character's history.

Abilities:

Left click: Godslayer - Gamora swings her sword in an arc, causing damage over time to enemies hit by it.

Q: Deadliest in the Galaxy - Gamora dashes between nearby enemies, dealing 200 damage to each of them.

E: Chronal Displacement - Gamora freezes an enemy in time for 2 seconds. This ability has a 10 second cooldown.

F: Assassin's Strike - Gamora rushes forward and makes a piercing melee attack. This ability has a 6 second cooldown.

Shift: Counter Stance - Gamora deflects incoming projectiles with her sword. This ability functions like Magneto's shield, lasting up to 3 seconds and taking 3 seconds to recover 1 second of uptime. It also has a 1 second cooldown.

Right click: Deathly Daggers - Gamora tosses a hitscan dagger that deals significant damage with a headshot.

Passive: Chrono Recovery - When Gamora deals damage with Godslayer, she heals for 33% of the damage done.

Team-Ups:

Annihilators (Nova/Gamora)

When Nova is on the same team as Gamora, he can imbue her sword with Nova Force. By pressing C, she can blast enemies away by slamming her sword into the ground, dealing minor damage and causing knock back. This ability has a 12 second cooldown.

Guardian Revival (Adam Warlock/Gamora)

This would be a fitting one lore-wise, but Adam already has this combo with two other heroes, and Rivals has yet to have a 4 character team up.

Gamora is a simple hero, but an effective one. Get in, deflect enemy fire, heal and deal damage with Godslayer, get back out. If it's not time to dive in, poke with Deathly Daggers or keep enemies in place with Chronal Displacement. She's a great fit for a lot of team comps, and a fun addition to Rivals!
