In this server, we are hosting a literate roleplay based within the wonderful A Song of Ice & Fire universe created by George R. R. Martin. We only allow admins that are 18+ or older. The roleplay is a multi-era experience, allowing writers to claim characters from any era, spanning from the Century of Blood all the way to the main ASOIAF / Game of Thrones era.

Dreams didn’t make us kings, dragons did. But it is dreams and prophecies that shape our destinies and our futures. Explore many roleplay opportunities with all your favorite characters, and flesh out their lifetimes with compelling plots and concepts.*

How does it work? Simple. Let’s say you were writing Aegon the Conqueror. We know that he was born in 27 BC, and he died in 37 AC. This means that you could write any plot that takes place during his lifetime that your heart desires. You would make a linear timeline for him by putting the date at the start of every rp, exploring what you wanted from his late 20s and the Conquest, to the end of his reign, to whatever you wished. He can interact with all the other characters that are alive at any point during his lifetime. Rinse and repeat for any other character you like that lived between the Century of Blood and the Song of Ice & Fire eras.

But things are still organized and the eras are kept separate. For instance, Jon Snow can’t go have tea with Aegon the Conqueror because their lives would never ever intersect. Aegon II can’t have a chitchat with Maegor. Crossover rps like that would have to be reserved for threads within our AU channel, which does not effect the rest of the server. So while the server may seem messy at first glance, the timeline of events is still linear to the dates that they happened, and it is overall a sandbox for people itching to write the canon eras ( or incorporate OCs into them ) without needing to join six different servers to meet all their needs.

hello hello 🕊 twenty, she/her, here in search of other 18+, adv.lit–novella writers interested in creating a small, tight-knit grp of 4 — 6 people on discord. this ad is targeted towards detailed writers, with an interest in character building, found family/twisted entanglements including friendship/enmity/romance, darker themes, plot development, and arcs. this is for those who may usually write 1x1's, but want to try out grp for a change in what will hopefully be a small, cosy, relaxed group of like-minded peers <3.

ideally, there will be one main rp plot and thread for the 'main characters' overarching storyline. furthermore, side threads where the ocs are on other adventures are all encouraged, as are text threads, side ocs, alt-verses, friendship side-quests, shipping threads, and parallel 1x1 threads (set in the same world). to surmise, there will be one main plot with an adv.lit–novella literacy minimum, but you can all create various threads set in the same world/with the same ocs that may not be as lengthy and for these threads, the literacy can be lit/semi-lit or lower.

this grp is NOT a case of 'i create the plot alone and carry it on my back, and you have no input at all'. the grp will be jointly created, and the plot will be jointly developed from a range of base options that i'll offer, so it will be a shared collaboration at its heart. the base plot options utilise the genres of: dark academia (university setting, mind games) // white-collar crime (casino setting, high stakes) // horror – folie a deux edition (small town setting). other themes will include psychological horror, moral dilemmas, and philosophical explorations.

the ocs' age range will span from 19–25, no younger and no older. brainstorms, headcanons, aesthetics, memes, tiktoks, and pinboards will be welcomed and encouraged ! ghosting is discouraged with hiatuses as an exception to the rule. the gist is if you do not contribute, then you may be replaced. though, after we're settled, activity checks will be lax, and as long as you're active in at least ooc and shorter threads, then you're fine.

I started rewatching this show recently and lately I have been dipping my toes into historical roleplays. This is obviously set during the American Revolution, so our roleplay would be set during that time. We can obviously remove the focus on the war aspect and maybe focus more on the romance? The war will still be present, just in a distant sort of way. I am looking for a specific plot in a way that your female OC is pulled into a love triangle completely by accident. I would want to play Major John Andre from the British side FOR SURE, and as for the other love interest I am still undecided as long as it is someone from the American side (I'm still rewatching to find some candidates, I don't really want to play Abraham). I think that love triangles are beneficial for drama and angst and a lot of other reasons. I would be playing both males! Basically, she can be a spy for the Americans or for the British, and regardless of how it comes about she falls for both men, and them for her. This can lead to a messy, heartbreaking story once they realize she is a spy for the other side. I ROLEPLAY ON DISCORD IN A SERVER!!

The Apparition Creature Runes

This post is to organize the thought process the Eden’s Rest discord server went through trying to figure out what the runes in the Apparition drawing really mean.

I hope my explanation is clear enough to follow!

We went from casually wondering what the runes meant to realizing they spelled nothing, to trying to flip them upside down and realizing they still spelled nothing, to finding a tik tok that led down a new rabbit hole entirely.

The person in this tik tok talks about an article they found about medieval language. SMCEN was written as smœn (which is also written as smoen). 

Here’s the link to the article they were talking about in the tik tok: https://www.jstor.org/stable/43628078 You can only access the article if you have a subscription to jstor, whether through your school or otherwise, but the sample page here has the passage the tik tok is talking about. Trying to figure out the literary jargon hurt my head. It talks about “mamorian” and “mamra” (which come from the same root word) meaning “to be deep in thought about something” or “sleep.” Trying to clear up what the article was saying about “smoen” after that and connect it all together was hard but here’s what i got:

It seems to say that smœn is linked to the word smean, which is a variation of the Old English word smeagan.

From the Wikipedia entry for smeagan ( https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/smeagan#Old_English ):

These definitions line up with the definition assigned to mamorian. I hope you can follow how my brain made this leap, but this made me feel confident enough to say the jstor article is saying both mamra and smoen mean sleep or at least something similar to it. 

So we have our translation of SMCEN:

The rest is far less confusing. I think.

Now that I knew I should use Smoen as a search term and that it was a medieval word, google helped me a lot more.

I found this book about the Magical Treatise of Solomon:

You can search the book for the word “smoen” and that’s how I found a lot more I could use to find answers.

I found some alternate versions of smoen that helped with searching: Skonin and Skoen

I found that Smoen was a demon linked to the angel Patiel (or Pathiel)

This book also has a whole page of runes, some of which are similar to the Sundowning runes. It’s page 323 of the book if you want to see.

This book has a lot to it, but for the purposes of this rune translation attempt, I moved on.

The book mentioned lots of Greek words and names so I applied that to my search for the meanings of the other runes.

In Greek and Latin the letter j did not exist. “I” was used in place of “J.” So I switched the j in the remaining runes to an i. (AJR -> AIR)

I searched for info on ESIO maybe being a medieval latin word and I found this source:

It said this:

All seems fairly normal. Spring is coming to an end, streets and stores are bustling with people, some tourists have come to visit the scenic beaches on the outskirts of the forests, werewolves and vampires are wandering amongst people.

Okay So, maybe not all is normal.

But to the residents of town, and most tourists, they haven't the slightest idea that the undead are walking among them. The creatures prefer it this way, as they'd rather not be headhunted, and it makes feeding a lot easier for vampires. most werewolves anyway can live fairly normal lives, until the full moon begins to peek. And all they have to do, is hide away from civilization until the moon hides away once more..

Of course, some humans are suspicious.. as stories have leaked from time to time of sightings in the forest, vampires in the night, and some have ventured into the woods or delved deep into the night to catch a glimpse of anything supernatural. Most of these tales are hushed, deemed as fairytales and superstition.. but in reality, they're all true.

It wouldn't be too much of a problem, besides the newfound group of "hunters" that are dead set on discovering these creatures and weeding them out, but werewolves and vampires are totally careful and not at all in danger of being found.. right?

Open to setting this in a modern setting or going historical for it - a classic, 19th century setting, or perhaps early to mid 20th century, if that piques anyones interest! I’d love to play in a quaint, countryside village setting - we could be vague about the actual setting if we want to, but I’m thinking more so the vibes of Scottish highlands/Irish countryside/Wales/England countryside - with me playing a slightly older local guy against the new, slightly younger person to the village! Maybe your oc moved for family reasons, maybe they moved for a country break, maybe they’re there just to work on a project - art, writing, etc etc - we can figure it out together! Hi all! The Flowing Province is a character driven, small group roleplay centered around a group of six within a grimdark fantasy universe. My friend and I have been working on this for a while and are so eager to share this world with four interested writers!

As stated in the title, TFP will have six male characters. This is a queer/LGBTQ+ roleplay with queer men as its main cast. Trans masc and non-binary characters are also welcomed!

TFP is a literate (with the occasional adv lit depending on your comfort level) roleplay taking place in our discord server linked above. This is an action / adventure with some dark themes. We ask that anyone joining be at least 21+. We highly encourage character plotting, be it romantic, rivalry, found family ect. While romance is NOT the main focus, having six boyos on a lengthy adventure is bound to have some fun interpersonal interaction.

This is a narrative focused roleplay that incorporates character arcs. We want everyone to feel included, cherished and integral to its plot.

We are a DND light roleplay, meaning we will be using a dice system for combat and skill checks. No worries if you’re new to DND! We are here to help and have worked to make it accessible for new players. In order to make the world feel alive, there will be a slew of npcs to help drive the story and character interaction.
