Shouta Aizawa x Eri Aizawa- Short blurb. (398 words). With a small sigh, Shouta ran a hand through her long white locks, looking down at the little girl as she was sleepily staring back at him. Her eyelids struggled to stay open, but she wanted to stay awake as long as she could. “Can you sleep in my bed tonight?” her tiny voice requested, as it had many nights prior, barely loud enough to be heard over the heavy rainfall splattering against the nearby windows.

“I’ll stay with you until you’re asleep, I promise. And if you wake up before morning, I’ll be down the hall,” Shouta reminded, an unusual softness to not only his voice but also his demeanor. He removed his hand from her hair and tucked her in better, ensuring it would last the night with her rather aggressive tossing and turning. When his leg shifted on the floor, his thigh accidentally brushed up against a small stuffed animal, which gave him an idea to cheer her up.

Even in her drowsiness, her eyes perked up at the sight of a cute little cat plushie “skipping” on her with maybe a bit of guidance from him, like it was a frog in the wild crossing a river by jumping on lily pads. It tickled despite it being over a thick blanket, making her giggle. “Hehe, stopp..” 

A rare chuckle escaped his lips. For some reason, being around her made everything seem less serious, like she was the only thing in the world he had to worry about. If you’d told him a few years prior to right now that he would have a young child under his care, one he absolutely adored enough to drop his cold, stoic front, he wouldn’t have bought it. But here he was, living a life he never imagined himself in as he pressed the soft toy to Eri’s cheek.

She slid her hands out from the covers and held the toy, holding it close and plopping its head on the pillow next to her. Her heavy lidded eyes could barely focus on the raven-haired man, and she could feel her body sinking further onto the bed.

"Goodnight," Shouta murmured faintly, not wanting to disturb her as he watched her eyes shut closed. After what seemed like forever, she was finally asleep. He ran a hand through her hair once more before placing a gentle kiss on her forehead.
