I think he’d find you entertaining! In a significant other, I think he’d think it very important for them to be artsy and creative, and I totally get that from you! You both have the same interests and I’d imagine charisma. I can imagine you both ranting passionately about interests, sometimes even repeating topics, but it’s always just as interesting as the first. Alastor also enjoys that you’re able to match his intelligence, without seeming uptight or boring, but actually interesting!

I also think it’s very important that you’re smart and have a good sense of morals. Alastor evidently isn’t the best, I think he’d find it interesting to have someone to keep him in line at times. Manipulating others is easy to him, but the fact that you have a strong backbone intrigues him. It’d be an interesting dynamic, one he’d never grow bored of.

Also... HEIGHT DIFFERENCE, HELLO?? THIS MAN IS H U G E!! He’d definitely sneak up behind you and lean his chin on your head 100%.

Only Vivzie knows why Alastor is helping Charlie because it was very clear from the beginning that Alastor is a terrible demon who only do things for his own selfishness, so is weird to see him doing something altruist. For him to be good, I see that difficult, or who knows? maybe that could happen and be one of the redeemed demons, but for that, I bet it has to pass a lot of time in the series heh.

Something Im really asking myself is, why Vaggie seems to know more Alastor than the others (Charlie and Angel)? Maybe she found him before? or has heard horrible things about him? hmmm

extras & ten facts.

x Wand: 10 ¼’’, Red Oak wood, Phoenix tail feather core, pliant.

A red oak wand will be light of touch, quick-witted, and adaptable. It’s a strong, reliable wandwood that helps with DADA and Transfiguration. However, its sturdiness means that it may take longer to learn new spells.

Phoenix tail feather is a popular wand core due to its versatility and power. Its main strength lies in Defense Against the Dark Arts, although its adaptability can wrench it to hexes and jinxes if need be. As with the dragon heartstring core, the phoenix core is common amongst Light Wizards, but its users are not necessarily Light Wizards. This core may specifically impede Dark spells, so it is not common amongst Slytherins. However, it is by far the most common Gryffindor wand core, and is not unusual amongst Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs.

A wand with a pliant flexibility will warm up easily to just about anyone; although, its full potential will not be unlocked until its owner has reached his or her full potential as well. This wand’s talents will depend solely upon the owner’s own talents, and its weaknesses will depend solely upon its owner’s weaknesses. Pliant wand owners are eager, enthusiastic, and tend to be very easily impressed and/or naive. They often have a zest for life that is rare and unrivaled in most populations.

x Patronus: The Phoenix

The phoenix is a difficult patronus to come by, and if you do happen to have it, it signifies a very strong heart. These peope have been through a lot in their life, and have risen from the ashes of it and become driven, daring, and a bit stubborn. They will not let anything bring them down, because they’ve been there before and never want to go back to that place. They have fire-like emotions, and can therefore be a bit tense at times. They are natural therapists, wanting to help others get out of tought places to allow them to rise as well. The most common house for a phoenix patronus is Gryffindor.

x Moral alignment: Previously lawful good, now neutral good.

These characters value life and freedom above all else, and despise those who would deprive others of them. Neutral good characters sometimes find themselves forced to work beyond the law, yet for the law, and the greater good of the people. They are not vicious or vindictive, but are people driven to right injustice. Neutral good characters always attempt to work within the law whenever possible, however.

To a neutral good being, life and the assurance of other creatures’ rights take precedence over all else. This is not to say that this character will have an aversion to taking another’s life when faced with a choice between an attacker’s and their own, however. Neutral good beings also believe that law and chaos are merely tools to use in bringing life, prosperity, and happiness to all deserving creatures. In the view of a neutral good being, rarely will either the needs of the many or the personal desires of an individual outweigh the needs of any other creature. All life is given even-handed treatment. As with all alignments neutral with respect to law and chaos, self-reliance is a cornerstone of a neutral good being’s personality. 10 FACTS;

i. Alice lives with Neville right next to Augusta Longbottom’s home. Frank’s mother has been both a solid support and a second mother both to herself and her son, and she will never be thankful enough. Both women also take care of Frank’s greenhouse and his peculiar collection of singing Mandrakes.

ii. Despite her best efforts, there are some things Alice still can’t remember ever since the attack. Her mother’s voice, for example - or her first date with Frank. She was truly appalled when she realised she didn’t actually remember her favourite ice cream flavour. So one day she went to her uncle Florean’s ice cream parlour, asked him for permission, and tasted every single ice cream there while she cried, trying to find the one she liked the most. Yes, of course she could have just asked someone, but she didn’t want to bother anyone - she felt this was something she needed to do herself. In the end, almond covered chocolate was the winner, followed closely by pumpkin spice.

iii. Alice is allergic to peanuts. This, unfortunately, was another thing she forgot about herself. She only knows of this now because she almost died after stealing a peanut from a bag on Moody’s desk.

iv. While Frank loved plans and was somewhat an expert at Herbology, Alice loves flowers and she makes flower arrangements for fun. Before the attack - and lately she has started doing it again - she used to fill the Aurors Office with flowers to make it more colourful, a practice Alastor isn’t a fan of, at all.

v. Alice is an excellent cook, and an even better baker. Butterscotch pie is her speciality, but she will bake almost anything.

vi. Even though you can see her drinking tons of coffee at work, she actually prefers tea. Green tea and English breakfast specifically.

vii. Approximately six years ago, Alice started smoking, and even though she knows it’s unhealthy and despite not doing it very often, it’s a habit she can’t quite shake off.

viii. While Ted Tonks was in Azkaban she became some sort of a second mother to their child, Nymphadora. She often went to visit them, allowed them to stay at her place during Christmas, and helped them with everything that had to do with Hogwarts and the Wizarding World, given the fact that Ted’s parents are muggles. They formed a strong bond and she grew to love them as their own. Now that Ted has been out of jail for some time, their relationship is still intact despite any issues she might have with their dad.

ix. Dora also became some sort of a sibling for Neville, who admires them beyond words. When he was a little child, they would change their hair colour and their face just to make him laugh. Neville’s first sign of magic was actually to turn his hair green when he was playing with Dora one afternoon. When Alice saw that, she started crying, and for some reason that was one of the biggest wake up calls of her entire life.  

x. Alice never thought she was going to be healthy enough to fight again. However, nowadays she feels closer and closer to it. There’s no doubt Neville is her whole life, and now that he’s going to Hogwarts, she wants to spend her time making a better world for him to live in. She has been thinking of talking to Lily for a while now, trying to appeal to her friend’s warm and kind heart, she knows it must be there somewhere.

Worldbuilding June Day 15: Terra’s Terrific Technologies

Terra has a lot of technological development for a fantasy world, with numerous technological devices operating under non-arcane rules, and devices utilizing arcane principles to operate.

To make a short list of the devices that have been invented especially in the last 30 years.

And that is covering a lot of the non arcane powered technology which will be covered when the discussion of magic comes up. A lot of this technology is thanks to one of the members of the Golden Band, the younger brother to the Necromancer Alastor Blackquil, Seamus Blackquil.

Seamus is a bit of a one man industrial revolution, with a lot of big ideas and a tendency to get started on one, finish it, and then move onto the next. However, Seamus did not invent everything by himself, great science stands on the shoulders of giants. Seamus discovered or worked out the basic principles for mechanical processes that lead to a few things on the list, with the only thing truly being his is the development of the electric generator, and the firearm.

Terost has been a major leader in development of technological progress through its widespread adoption of these mechanics. Kinnod worked out the process that lead to the development of the Steam Engine and had begun work on Iron Ships, sharing what they had learned with the rest of the world, Unon had also worked out the properties of Airships and is currently working on new kinds of airships that do not need a balloon.

However this does not mean that all this progress is being used for purely altruistic methods, as the Firearm will clearly show. Terost has developed a form of armored automobile that can crawl over trenches, Kinnod has been working on a tunneling machine to go under enemy encampments, and Unon is working on a firearm that shoots rockets instead of bullets.

There was hesitation in the other's bright eyes. Bright, yes, and alive with insecurity and perfect fear. It had been an addictive feeling, when he had first entered Hell, watching as lesser Sinners and weaker Hellborn demons cowering in his presence, and even still, decades later, the rush hadn't diminished. A little less constant, as many new souls didn't know of him, and many more refused to even cross his path. Like a bad omen. The imp's discomfort was morbidly refreshing.

But he was brave, despite the wariness. Steadfast, even in his fear, and Alastor couldn't deny he was impressed. Even after he had cleared the air of his "joke" many would have fled. But not this one.

Besides, he had business at the hotel. And likely with a patron. What sort of business would a redeemed soul need in Hell? It was a perfect opportunity for an I-told-you-so moment with the naive princess. Bless her soul, he thought to himself.

"Ah, no trouble at all! Good company is, after all, hard to come by; and who am I to deny a Sinner under my care the services they need? I'm not so cruel, mind you." How altruistic... He straightened his own coat, mirroring the imp's motions, and giving an alert flick of his ears before turning on his heels and starting towards the hotel. "By the by, what can I call you? Friend is nice, but I'm sure you have a name you'd prefer?"

Work, hm? Fair enough, he supposed, though he did wonder what sort of work would bring him so deep into town. A client. So, then, a private sort of service. And knowing Hell, that could mean any number of things. And-.

Oh? The hotel? Increasingly interesting!

His grin widened, and Alastor leaned down to roughly slap the other on the back, far too excited. A lot of teeth, indeed. “Well, my friend, if you aren’t in luck! The princess’s hotel just so happens to fall under my jurisdiction, too. I’d be happy to escort you.” His smile turned ominous. Somehow playfully so. “It’s a dangerous place out here, after all, and I would so hate for something wicked to befall you.”

The slap very nearly propelled him face first into the ground, but he was already somewhat prepared so it only resulted in a discreet stutter-step. His loud yelp wasn’t as discreet though and clamped his mouth shut as the red part of his face darkened while the white part turned pink. Oh for fuck’s sake. 

When he realized the Radio Demon was serious about escorting him to the hotel a hundred protests never made it out of his mouth no no that’s not necessary - don’t want to waste your time - no really, you must have more important things to do - look, something wicked is already here it slapped me on the back…

“Thank you?” He hadn’t meant to make it sound like a question. Shit. Shit shit shit! He’d scare away the client for sure. 

Actually… Blitzo’s natural optimism kicked in and he perked up. After all, it was a dangerous place, and he could not think of anyone more wicked than the one escorting him. So in a way, in a really twist-and-shout kind of way, he was actually pretty safe? Right?

“Well, you know, if you’re going that way anyway and it won’t be too much trouble…” He craned his neck and gave the taller demon a sharp-toothed grin while straightening his suit. “I could use the company.”

Lawful Good A lawful good character typically acts with compassion and always with honor and a sense of duty.

Neutral Good A neutral good character typically acts altruistically, without regard for or against lawful precepts such as rules or tradition. A neutral good character has no problems with cooperating with lawful officials, but does not feel beholden to them. In the event that doing the right thing requires the bending or breaking of rules, they do not suffer the same inner conflict that a lawful good character would. OCs: Anyu, Maggie, Fleur

Chaotic Good A chaotic good character does what is necessary to bring about change for the better, disdains bureaucratic organizations that get in the way of social improvement, and places a high value on personal freedom, not only for oneself, but for others as well.[9] Chaotic good characters usually intend to do the right thing, but their methods are generally disorganized and often out of sync with the rest of society.

Lawful Evil A lawful evil character sees a well-ordered system as being easier to exploit and shows a combination of desirable and undesirable traits. Examples of this alignment include tyrants, devils, and undiscriminating mercenary types who have a strict code of conduct.

Neutral Evil A neutral evil character is typically selfish and has no qualms about turning on allies-of-the-moment, and usually makes allies primarily to further their own goals. A neutral evil character has no compunctions about harming others to get what they want, but neither will they go out of their way to cause carnage or mayhem when they see no direct benefit for themselves. Another valid interpretation of neutral evil holds up evil as an ideal, doing evil for evil's sake and trying to spread its influence. Examples of the first type are an assassin who has little regard for formal laws but does not needlessly kill, a henchman who plots behind their superior's back, or a mercenary who switches sides if made a better offer. B I O G R A P H Y :

Edgar Bones was absolutely unstoppable from the moment he was born. It was said that Edgar learned how to walk a couple of months after he was born, and while he knows that this isn’t true, it’s a story he embraces for what it says about him. Edgar was always going a hundred miles faster than anyone and anything else around him ever since he was little, and his hyperactivity made him the center of attention in the Bones family. He was the kid everyone knew, the name that everyone recognized.

It was something that didn’t change after his younger siblings were born. Edgar wasn’t bothered by the fact that his parents had to split their attention between him and Charles and Amelia– he embraced having siblings, enjoying having two little people that idolized him and listened to whatever he said. It was perhaps a little bit egotistical, but along with it, Edgar took on the role of protector for his brother and sister. Anyone that dared to bully or tease his siblings was quickly scared off by their taller, stronger, and much more intimidating older brother, whether by his height and stature or by the use of his fists. His parents would always scold him for getting into fights, but for Edgar, it was worth it. He’d always joke that he looked better with a black eye, and each fight he got into was followed by him ruffling his sibling’s hair and smiling.I’ve got your back was the motto of the Bones family children, and it was something that Edgar took incredibly seriously.

But things were different when he got to Hogwarts. Edgar was anxious to leave his siblings unattended at home, but he was on his own again for the first time in years. Edgar wasn’t sure what to do with himself without Charles and Amelia– he became anxious, uncertain, and a bit lost with no one to protect or defend. If he wasn’t a protector, what was he?

But it was a problem that was quickly solved for Edgar. His parents had kept him fairly sheltered from the prejudices of the wizarding world, but all it took was one word– mudblood– to bring him into the scope of the real world. Edgar was abruptly thrust into the role of defender once again, and it wasn’t long before he got into his first fight. He was lucky in two things– broken noses could be fixed with a simple spell, and it was that fight that made him his first friend.

Turns out there really was such a thing as a moment that makes a man.

Edgar’s friendship with Dirk Cresswell was solidified by that fight, and the two were practically inseparable during school after that. They both had siblings, and when they both came to Hogwarts, they were adopted into Edgar’s group of friends. Edgar’s friend group quickly expanded as he became what he’d been to his siblings something for his friends too– a protector, an ally, and a source of brightness in their lives.

He wasn’t the smartest or the best in all of his classes, but Edgar worked hard to make sure he had good grades and was a top notch student, even if he was a bit of a troublemaker at times. He joined the Quidditch team to try and help calm his fighting spirit, with mixed levels of success. When the time to graduate finally came around, Edgar knew exactly what it was he wanted to do. He applied to be an Auror, and was accepted into the program at once.

His life was a bit of a blur after that. Edgar worked and studied hard, learning discipline and restraint as well as improving his fighting skills. While he hadn’t been top of his class in school, Auror training was definitely something Edgar excelled at. He worked hard, focusing on work more than just about anything else in his life except his family. He’d have time for other things later– becoming an Auror was his only focus right now.

Not that it lasted long. Fate, it seemed, was ready to intervene and knock his world off its axis. Edgar had met and knew Sarah as his best friend’s little sister, and she’d been that for years. He’d never looked at her differently until after graduation, when he’d finished his training to become an Auror and finally got the chance to move up and onwards in his career. She had the same passion as him, the same wit and sarcasm and future he wanted, and before he knew it, he was in love. While it was admittedly not what he’d anticipated– marrying his best friend’s sister was never going to be something that was totally normal– Edgar still knew that there was no one in his life that he could or would love more than he loved Sarah. She soon became Sarah Bones, and the couple quickly started a family of their own, both wanting to be parents and have the large family they both wanted so dearly.

Edgar continued to work hard with the Order, even though it took time away from him that he wanted to spend with his family. It was hard, but Edgar knew that he was building a better future not just for them, but for Sarah too. He wanted a world that was safe for all of them, where it didn’t matter that Sarah was a muggleborn, and it didn’t matter that none of them were purebloods, or that they didn’t live up to the high standards that had somehow been put in place for witches and wizards, but it was a world he had to work and fight and bleed for.

And he did. Edgar was severely injured far more than once in his career, and his injuries and experiences have left him as a very different man than he was when he first graduated Hogwarts. While still a junior Auror, Edgar was called in to help disperse a group of protestors. The interaction quickly became violent, and Edgar was struck hard in the head as the somewhat aggressive protest grew into a full-blown riot. The incident left Edgar half blind with little to no hearing in one ear. It was an adjustment, but it was one that Edgar did his best to run with. For the most part, he was able to, and with the help of Sarah and Charles especially, Edgar managed to get a hold on his life again and find a way to make things work.

But Edgar was a relentless fighter. Each challenge he met, he was quick to overcome, and even more determined to with each challenge that knocked him down. Edgar threw himself into activities he thought would help him push through, including focusing on his family. He and Sarah had more children– all girls, which was something that delighted Edgar to no end– and he tried harder to balance work, the Order, and his family. It hasn’t been easy, and he knows that it won’t get much easier, but he’s Edgar Bones. He’s a fighter, and one day, if he’s lucky, he’ll win the fight that’s most important to him, and finally be able to become the peaceful man he so desperately wishes he could be.

Alastor listened to the other's reasoning, plainly ignoring the returned jabs at their tentative partnership. It almost surprised him, for a fraction of a second before Alastor remembered the sort of man he was actually speaking to. It was Hell, after all, and Ombra had been a deal maker, even in life. Al shouldn't have expected something more altruistic from him, really, but he had, and being proven wrong was just a touch reassuring. Crooked as that sounded.

"How generous," he hummed, taking a sip of coffee. He chuckled. "Can you blame me? Am I not permitted to have something to hold over your head, as you do?"

"Ah, spying on someone, are we?" Alastor cocked a brow, comfortable enough to take a seat near the shadow demon when a touch of light returned to his eyes. When he didn't look so hollow and the urge to destroy him and take back his own sense of dignity left the Radio Demon. He crossed one leg neatly over the other, hands warmed by the steaming cups of coffee in his hands. He offered one to Ombra, and kept the other for himself. "You haven't gotten under anyone else's skin, have you?" he teased. "It wouldn't do to keep making enemies, you know?" He grinned, and spitefully added, "how's your eye feeling?"
