a/n: omg this is my first time writing about the vocal line, so i'm kinda nervous right now, but also i really like how this turned out, so i hope you enjoy it too! also i'm super sorry but i totally forgot that you asked for a fem!reader. the headcanons honestly wouldn't have been any different except for me using gendered language anyway. so i hope you still like it!

Seokjin: No matter how many prizes he wins, how much the newspapers praise him, at the end of the day the only compliments that matter to him are those coming from you. He wants to hear how much you love his voice, how good he looked, how amazed you were by his performance. He's only satisfied with his work when you declare how utterly and irrevocably in love you are with him. But don't worry, he will return all this love whenever he can, calling you the cutest nicknames, cooking for you whenever you want and believe me when I tell you that this man will show you off to everyone. He wants everyone to know how amazing you are and that you are his to love.

Hoseok: Hoseok sees his main goal in being your boyfriend and an idol in being able to spoil you rotten. Shirts from his favorite designers, tailored jeans to make sure that you legs always look perfect, the most expensive shoes you've ever worn. What's the point in being rich if he doesn't spend the money on you? And you really can't get him to stop, even if you make more money than him. He will still feel the need to spoil you. And of course drown you in compliments. Tracing his hands over your body as you try on some tight clothes, making sure they highlight all his favorite parts of you. Just to rip those clothes off of you at home later.

Yoongi: I know it's a cliche, but he writes love songs about you. And sad songs when he misses you on tour. And happy songs when he sees you sleep on the couch on the studio, feeling completely at peace with him. He just writes a lot of songs about you. You are his inspiration and his muse. Many of those songs never get released, they stay between the two of you, shared during emotional moments, followed by soft talking and sweet kisses. You are also Holly's co-parent. And in almost every photo Yoongi has in his Holly-Journal. He doesn't mind keeping you away from the public, unless it's about the basketball games he gets invited to, especially if you also love the game. He is pretty sad about not being able to also share this passion of his with you.

Namjoon: He is obsessed with your normal day to day life. Which he honestly misses a lot. Please tell him about your run to the grocery store, how overrun the subway was, the cute dog you saw today. He loves to hear about it all and will never get tired of hearing you talk about your day. He sometimes just wants to take you on walks through the city, but due to his popularity it's really hard. So he just schedules those walks to the night, when it's raining and the streets are empty. He also low key posts you on his insta. He is the king of soft launching. There are your shoes in the background, two bowls of food on the table, a sweater he's never seen wearing before on the couch, a shadow in the mirror in the background. It's his favorite little game, how well he can hide you in open sight.

Jimin: You are his number one tripod for his content. He 100 percent trusts you vision when it comes to filming his dance videos or taking his photos. Even if you have no former experience in those areas. He also takes you everywhere! This man is absolutely shameless in taking you to work with him. He doesn't even care if his explanations, why he needs you at set with him all the time are not making sense. He introduced you at one photoshoot first as his personal assistant in addition to his actual assistant, later as his translator the shooting was in korea so no need for a translator and his emotional support human okay this was probably a joke on his side. No one ever dares to object anyways. Including those times when he uses his times with highly ranked stylists to get you set up with some pretty new clothes instead of preparing for his upcoming comeback.

Taehyung: He is in desperate need for a calm spot of comfort in his life and you are that to him. Far away from all the hectic that comes with being an Idol you are his home and the place where he can 100 percent be himself. After a long day he loves nothing more than to fall onto the couch next to you and hug you tightly until he falls asleep. As you talk about your day, petting his soft hair. When he can't come home to you, he calls you in the evening when he is in bed at some hotel on the other side of the world. Just needing to hear your voice to finally calm his mind. Additionally Yeontan loves you almost as much as he loves Tae so you are the perfect dog sitter, and yes this includes managing the scheduled facetimes between the two of them when Tae is on tour.

Jungkook: Please note that he will kick you out of whatever room he wants to stream in, when he streams. Your shared apartment? No it's his personal filming studio and you live in it. I hope you are good at turning off cameras without being visible on them, because that is your job whenever he falls asleep on the camera. But all jokes aside he is always so excited to come to you after streams, asking if you watched it. You didn't need to, because you could hear him in the next room over, but just say yes, because he loooves you validation. "Did you like that photoshoot I did? What do you think about my dancing in that tiktok? Did I sound good during that performances?" It's almost as bad as Jin but Jungkook pairs it with his huge pretty puppy eyes, tearing into your soul. Also, he will tease you with his song lyrics, especially the spicy ones. Just to get really flustered by your answer afterwards.

I think he likes those mindless sort of games. Not like easy but ones where they are a bit methodical.

Likes games with options but also set rules/restrictions. Endless creativity would overwhelm him and make him frustrated as he wouldn't know what to do and when

Honestly? Sims, minecraft, stardew, terria, games where there's options but at the end its like an inverted funnel. Start the same each time but you make it what you want in the end.

I also think he'd love VR type games like Super Hot and Beat saber just for the physicalness and kinda not having to be in reality.

Not into multiplayer too much mainly cause he's actually not that competitive but because he always drags out matches by being the worst

Will happily join a server or world in the games he does play even if it gets abandoned. He's the type to log on for notalgia

Honestly I think she likes games with a lot of story and depth but has guilty pleasures in FPS and competitive games.

Like those RPG maker games a lot Mermaids Swamp, The Crooked Man, Ai Oni. Not for the horror, its a bit cliche but often time its the real people monsters or tragedy that captivates her.

Me thinks she's the type to scroll like Itchio or Game Jolt and plays whatever's free and looks interesting, gamer in the way she's just played games.

This was hard cause like I genuinely think he wouldn't care about games and just plays them in the way like parents beat levels for their kids.

I know this is almost a cop out but like I can't imagine him like being into gaming even if he was young, like I think he'd like card games, jacks and dice.

I was thinking about tma and I have a thought about it but idk if maybe ppl would think it's kind of??? A cop out??? Idk but like my thought on this is like tma hinges on Smirkes 14 which- I strongly agree with you- is a patently stupid system of organizing the fears but tbh I feel like that stupidity strengthens tmas themes of cosmic horror and its critique of the philosophical ripples of 1. Enlightenment era ideas of empiricism and the resurgence of those sorts of attitudes in Victorian times (aka slotting all data into taxonomies regardless of their actual accuracy- for example in the real world Race Science comes to mind an inaccurate, arbitrary, stupid, harmful taxonomy developed out of whole cloth to harm and exploit the vulnerable. I consider smirkes 14 to be analogous to that sort of thing- the human impulse towards pattern seeking taken to the logical extreme of applying arbitrary and harmful taxonomies as though they have any internal accuracy when they just dont) 2. Entrenched English systems of power that assert themselves thru institutions- in this case aristocracy and academia (Jonah magnus, the magnus archives itself, the fairchildes, and the Lukas family explicitly. In terms of metaphor I consider those that serve the fears to sort of be metaphorically resonant w those irl who uphold unfair hierarchies such as monarchy or aristocracy. It even kind of plays out in the granular interpersonal workplace dynamics of the archive wherein martin - working class bg- had to fake his cv to get a job and is subsequently mistreated by his boss for not being competent or how Sasha was passed over for a promotion a she was clearly better suited for by a man who was not as qualified)

I don't think this is just a watsonian reading of something poorly written btw (tho tma definitely has its flaws and this interpretation still doesn't necessarily have to retroactively justify this writing choice.) I think it was intended to be understood this way since there are allusions in-text to the Christian parable of the blind men and the elephant and at another point someone (I think it was peter Lukas?) describes Robert smirkes 14 fears as analogous to an ants perception of a human hand descending upon it (paraphrasing here but like something like "would an ant perceive these massive separate appendages descending upon it as a single entity- fingers on a hand- or would the shear massiveness and incomprehensibility render each finger a unique tormentor, separate and independent, all torturing the ant.")

Sorry to be out of the blue but ur one of the few ppl I see critiquing the tma pantheon on the grounds that it's bad (which it is) and I was curious what u might think of what I had to say here

ok this is aggressive haterism so i'm not putting it in the tag and if you are super super super into the magnus archives this isn't meant as an attack or whatever this is just me doing criticism for fun.

so okay. i get wanting to view it this way because if you are trying to work with the text to come to an interpretation that is like. good. then this makes sense. so like this makes sense as an interpretation, but it doesn't really work for me because my critique is more doylist and also less willing to give the benefit of the doubt.

so part one is. in the end. i just think that the fourteen fears make the stories themselves worse. like i think that real human author jonathan sims is "writing to the fears" as in, he is writing horror stories to slot specifically into these little categories. which make his horror stories less interesting. both because he tends to invent cliches for himself and then double back to them and also for more reasons i will discuss later. so on a very basic "i want [MEDIA PRODUCT] to be good (as in fun and enjoyable to consume), and this is making it bad (as in kinda boring)" level, i think this isn't really a justification, you know? like you can say you made the thing bad on purpose but it's still bad. very occasionally a thing being bad on purpose as a self-reflexive critique makes it good, but not as often as just being good in the first place does.

and then part two is. i think you could argue that tma is a critique of the victorian urge to categorize and rationalize things but it's also just. an example of it. the fourteen fears make the individual stories hostile to analysis because they attempt to pre-chew and pre-analyze the stories, assigning them preexisting meanings so that they are already made-sense-of. this hampers them as horror (see part one) because for really good horror you need a sense of otherness a sense of uncanny and if you're like oh this one is the stranger and this one is the eye and etc. it lends a fundamental knowability that just. deflates them. but then also it means you can't analyze them and it's like.

okay. case study. so did you guys remember that tma has a mummy curse episode? i do. it's like flabbergasting to me that tma unironically has a mummy curse episode that's like. you know that's old school racist. are you serious? but like okay. analytically. the episode comes *pre-chewed*. because we know which power this is. this is terminus. this is death. so the underlying fear in this story is the fear of death. that's how we are *meant* to understand this tale. but like be serious. any idiot with half a brain can like, comprehend the underlying anxiety of The Mummy's Curse: it's a story about what if all the tomb raiding, the grave robbing, the mummy eating, in short all of the colonial violence done to things, which is only possible because of all the colonial violence done to people, came back to bite you. it's the anxiety of the colonizer, manifest guilt about what they have done to the colonized. and as much as jonny sims is essentially just copying his influences, those victorian stories he loves so much, that's still what it's about. hell, sims knows this: the reason the woman in the story is so unlikable, so greedy and grasping, so unsympathetic is that jonny sims is soothing his own anxiety: "well i want to write a mummy curse episode, but what if people think i, a white british man writing a mummy curse episode, am racist? what if they think i don't know colonialism is bad? better put a little 'colonialism is bad, mmmmmmmmkay?' opener in to make sure no one thinks i'm racist." but of course the other thing he does is he attempts to gut the story of that unpleasant little meaning. oh it's not the anxiety of the colonizer. it's not about the violence of the victorian era. it's just about death. well, phew, i'm glad i don't have to think about that.

and i'm using the mummy curse one as a case study but that's EVERYTHING. that's EVERYTHING. oh this story about being trapped in an infinite factory where you work isn't processing the horrors of work or of the violence inherent in every product under capitalism that you will never seen or of alienation or of bodies, this is just the fear of slaughterhouse animals. oh this clone of the most dangerous game isn't about colonialism or about dehumanizing people into animals it's just about the fears of literal animals. oh this fucking guy marrying a bug isn't processing any anxieties about sex or our bodies it's just fear of disease. like it flattens everything. the meaning of horror is super overdetermined, i'm not even saying that the mummy curse, which has a pretty obvious meaning as the anxiety of the colonizer, necessarily means only that! it's can certainly also be about death and about a thousand other things. stuff has multiple meanings. but the fourteen fears method rejects overdetermination, meaning bounces off these stories. and that makes them a lot more comfortable: you don't have to deal with the miserable, horrible, sick, reactionary underpinnings of horror stories, the way they (all horror stories, really) function to guard the boundaries of our sick society with slavering hateful jaws, if you just pretend they're about fear of heights or whatever.

like to be clear my argument here is that it's kind of impossible to make horror without reactionary elements so i'm not really criticizing jonny sims for Not doing that, and i'm also not arguing that jonny sims intentionally tried to build an anti-critique wall into his stories by inventing the fourteen fears, i'm just arguing that he kind of did and that makes the stories worse. and i think the way it rejects meaning is unconsciously self-protective from having to see the more unpleasant meaning of the work. and is therefore in itself kind of reactionary.

and i'm also criticizing him for writing a mummy curse episode because come on man, are you serious? but that's not as related to my larger point. though i do think his critique-proof wall shields him from noticing the implications.

part two point five: also i will not give him the benefit of the doubt and say that he was trying to kind of fix this issue with season five because season five was worse. guy who learned about progressive politics from twitter last year type understanding of systemic critique. guy who writes every character arc as a kind of Very Special Episode about Important Progressive Topic Of The Day but mostly only because he's scared of getting cancelled on twitter type critique. like horror is overdetermined. "My Horror Show Now Only Does #Issue Episodes Where I Make Systemic Critique For Babies" is a dumb way of reflecting on the way your overarching premise is kind of unintentionally an attempt to make your horror stories critique-proof. not that i necessarily think that was why season five was like that, i just think he got swept up in trying to make Progressive Media, but if it WAS it wouldn't be adequate.

part three: i think the "fingers of a hand" thing was a post-hoc justification because he sort of noticed his fears are a bit stupid. and i think, circle back to part one, that it doesn't solve the fundamentally doylist problem of the stories being written to the fears.

part four: on a very basic sort of ancient greek philosophy type level i just think the fourteen fears are not beautiful and true. quite frankly mister sims, if i was trying to divide all the world's fear into knowable categories, i would not make fucking fourteen of them! that's simultaneously too many and too few! and it's not even a nice number! i would not for some reason collapse together the fear of spiders and the fear of mind control! i would not split the fear of disease from the fear of the fact that we are all bodies with flesh! i would not make the fear of otherness mostly about clowns!

i would not different the hunt from the slaughter from the desolation you FUCKING BUFFOON.

Hello, um..it's me again! I apologize again for asking for clarification earlier so now I'm a little embarrassed to do this, but do you think you could do me with a romantic ship request for someone from X-Men please? A male character.

I am female, 5'8 ish, thin and kinda lanky, dark brown hair, grey eyes, pale skin and I dress more in darker colors. I tend to be very quiet and I accidentally sneak up on people all the time and I don't talk much unless I know the person, and I tend to get weird and goofy if I'm comfortable with a person. I'm a introvert. I most times am insecure about a lot of things, especially about my body or my voice from the lower pitch of it or my stupid Midwestern accent.

I am known as the artist in my family even tho I don't think I'm very good at most arts, I listen to music(like mitski, hoizer, she wants revenge, sometimes ice nine kills, ect.) almost constantly and I love games, whether it be video games( resident evil, the evil within, unravel, ect.) or card/board games. I love multiplayer video games the most tho. I also really like comics, DC and X-Men the most. I'm a horrible cook but a decent baker with a big sweet tooth, and unfortunately I'm a huge hopeless romantic.

I don't often reveal things about myself even to people I know and I don't really know anything about myself because I don't think I have much personality so maybe asking for a ship request was a bad idea so sorry. would definitely accidentally offend you with his Yap, and if you're one that gets viscerally upset (getting suddenly quiet, moody, downcast expression, fidgeting, etc) he would freak out and bombard you with questions of if he did/said anything wrong.

he won't believe you if you forgive him immediately and will spend the next month running every sentence through his head before speaking.

Your music taste wasn't initially his type, but he wanted to impress you so he listened to a crap ton of Hozier and a dash of Mitski (and was upset that he actually liked Mitski).

I mean the boy heard one (1) offhanded comment from you about liking those artists, ran to the nearest music store 0.2 seconds after you two parted ways, and stole an album from each. Partially, he also wanted to have something for you to listen to when you hung out at his house.

When you noticed that he had not one, but two Mitski albums, he stared at you for several moments before rambling under his breath something about "just wanted to make sure you have enough variety" and "wanted you to have choices."

playing video games with you is his second favorite pastime, especially those where there's a clear winner/loser, and he 8/10 times lets you win.

but not in a way that's so obvious he let you win. He plays hardcore for, like, 80% of the round, before putting on a whole performance to pretend like he was slipping up and losing focus.

he has his arcade games to let out the competitive side (if you like arcade games too, give up now. He has no mercy)

would 10000% let you draw on him when you're bored. No hesitation.

After a few weeks of being together, he started carrying around pens and markers in his jacket pockets so you could draw on him at any whim.

when you draw on him he takes special care not to wash them off so quickly and gets really sad when he takes a shower and realizes they have to leave now.

to keep the doodles forever, he takes pictures and has a collection that he keeps in the top drawer of his bedside table. If you find them, he'll be so sure you'll be so creeped out and dump him for "creepery". But you think it's the sweetest thing.

In general, Pietro just loves to photograph your adventures and keep them forever. He photographs you eating ice cream cutely, your reactions when he presents you with new comics, your excitement when you win a video game round, etc. And he does it so fast that you never notice; he only needs to move as slow as the shutter speed.

I have a general headcanon about him as a boyfriend that any book you read, he will also read just so you can rant about it. It takes the guy like 20 seconds max to read through a whole novel. You can finish your book at you own speed, find him, set it in front of his face, and he will drop anything he's holding at that moment to read it right then and there.

Then he calmly sets the book down, stares into space for a moment, before gesturing for you to speak.

He just wants you to have an outlet to complain or swoon or scream and cry; whatever you would need to do after a good book. And he'll never admit it, but he's come to quite like several popular books you've given him.

1- Caroline first describes Dave and Jack's relationship as close, but she is hesitant as if there's more to it. When the officer asks her to elaborate, she dismisses him, as if she is trying to hide what's really going on with them 🤨

2- In one of your posts on tumblr about the au, you have mentioned that Dave is lovestruck with Jack during dsaf 1-2 etc. Not only that, you said he is "STILL" lovestruck with him, implying that he was BEFORE.

so, some things about my general headcanons before i get into this, because they do kinda affect the au:

Jack started working at Fredbear's earlier in 1973, a few months before Dee died.

Jack is a man who, due to several reasons, doesn't get real close to people. he started to kinda develop feelings for Dave (thus making him one of the few people Jack had a soft spot for), but Dee's murder kinda shattered those. they still linger, though.

for the most part, i just thought it'd be interesting to give them even more of a history.

now, onto the au:

as stated, Jack takes Dave's place as Henry's business partner in this au. now, Henry, having known about Dave's existence at this point, honestly planned to leave out an ad saying that he needed a business partner for what he was planning to do and just waiting for Dave to break down his door.

but then Jack comes along.

Jack had just lost his parents like. a month prior, and turned eighteen at around the same time. he wanted to find a job to provide for him and his siblings, to give Dee even the chance of a normal childhood.

and Henry just sees another kinda desperate young man he could manipulate.

but uh. he severely miscalculates how Jack's gonna react to his bullshit.

Jack reacts more with anger and violence, and no matter how much he gets hurt (and how much Peter tries to tell him "for the love of fuck, get a different job"), he's one stubborn, bullheaded young man.

it's why he started bringing his father's old switchblade to work; if there's one thing he learned about Henry, it's that the only thing that seemed to put the fear of God in him was death. so of course, if Henry decided to get violent? well, two can play at that game, can't they?

it's like i was once told when i rambled about this au before: "of course the guy who's never known family love would be more vulnerable than the guy who lost it."

while Jack did manage to get worn down over the years, it became clear that he was a ticking time bomb. not that it ever stopped Henry from seeing how much further he could push, but it became clear that there was a limit.

then Dave comes along, and Jack rather swiftly learns that he and Henry have a history.

and it also doesn't take him long to learn that Dave really has no idea what healthy relationships are meant to look like.

it's why, initially, he takes Dave under his wing, despite the man being older than him. Jack has absolutely ZERO faith that Henry's not gonna try to pull the same bullshit he tried to pull with Jack when he first started out.

he offers Dave his protection, should Henry ever decide to direct his abuse towards him. he's not letting the cycle repeat if he can help it. he tells Dave that Henry's not the man he thinks he is, much to Dave's confusion.

Dave views Jack as the luckiest man alive; Dave would've done anything to be in Jack's place.

Jack, meanwhile, views Dave as lucky; he dodged a MAJOR fucking bullet, whether he realizes it or not.

due to Jack trying to keep an eye on Dave, this ended up drawing the two closer together, naturally. Jack, due to obviously giving more of a shit about Dave, spent more time with the guy, letting him ramble about whatever came to mind, and even rambling about his own interests (and his siblings). he gave Dave a shoulder to cry on, and Dave did the same.

and...well, Jack had always viewed his title as "co-owner" and "co-founder" as...merely that. a title. he was only the boss in name, and in name alone.

in that sense, he viewed him and Dave as equals.

Dave, meanwhile, latched onto Jack in a similar way to how he'd latched onto Henry. just...not as a father figure. more or less in a "you complete me; you're like my other half" sense. to Dave, both Henry and Jack had completed him, but...Jack? Jack definitely did.

so maybe things escalated a bit.

after all, something Jack had said to Caroline about Dave had given her (and Peter) the impression that he and Dave were being romantic with each other.

and Dave, as you mentioned, was lovestruck.

of course, Dee's murder...soured things (especially the fact that Henry pinned her death on Dave)...but those feelings never truly faded. for either of them.

Dave has an "I Can Fix Him" mentality when it comes to Jack (fun fact: there's actually a "route" in this au, for the first and second games, where Dave can manage to keep Jack from killing anyone, mostly by distracting him, though Jack does still cause some chaos that ends up getting locations shut down...and almost getting him and Dave arrested). he's still as lovestruck as he was back in 1973, and i don't think anything would really change that.

Jack is...well, he's not as openly affectionate with Dave as Dave is with him canonically...but he has his own ways of showing that the feelings are still there (he'll give small hugs sometimes, pats him on the shoulders, bonks his head against his arms (something i'll do irl), gives him compliments and affirms him, lets him rant, just...little things).

so long story short: these two have a long romantic history together. a very complicated one, but...it exists!

(now, am i talking about my regular headcanons/au or am i talking about the Bruno is Orange au with that summary? answer: YES.)

aw i'm so honored that you want my input haha <3 i hear you, creating conflict n angst is so hard in fiction but also so much ends up relying around it, and it can be really frustrating to have an idea but then it kinda crashes and burns

my advise for creating conflict:

have both circumstantial conflict and character driven conflict. likeee for example circumstantial conflict is the situation (ex failing a class makes a character do xyz, financial woes makes a character do xyz etc and it complicates things) and then character driven conflict is like stuff a character does because of their personality traits or previous experiences (ex character was trust issues in relationships or they're overly stubborn etc) i think it's easier to justify your conflicts in your stories if you have multimodal sources of them. gives you more flexibility too

definitely don't commit to a conflict if you don't know how it will eventually resolve. this will lead to insane writer's block down the line

draw from your life experiences! i find the most engaging conflicts are the ones that closely resemble how it would be in real life. no need to create anything super dramatic, i think it's more about execution of the feelings that the characters are going through during their adversity rather than the severity of it if that makes sense

don't overthink it too much. sometimes when i'm writing and trying to build conflict between my characters i have thoughts like "oh this feels so forced" or "oh it comes off as such an obvious plot device for xyz" etc etc. it's okay if the conflict is cliche, or repetitive, or doesn't make sense in some cases. it's hard to write an iron-clad conflict/resolution arc. if i'm being honest, i have only seen such a thing successfully pulled off in very few media i've consumed LOL even like professionally written stuff. sooooo just take it easy. i suppose that is part of the conflict itself! the author's inability to perfectly display it! beauty in imperfection xd

as for writing angst:

i think angst is aaaaaaaall about showing not telling. like it's easy to write "she felt ___" or "he wept for hours" stuff like that, which is all good n great n definitely should be stated here and there. but preferentially when it comes to angst, i like to provide more "details" surrounding things? like idk it's corny to pull from my own source material for an example LOL but like in ihm ch7 when reader is looking through her mother's things to start putting stuff in boxes. like yes i wanted to portray that she was sad but like the little details about the sticky notes her mother placed around her room n stuff i thought would more so show exactly why looking through all of her mother's stuff was so devastating for her

appeal to aspects of life anyone can relate to. sure, your characters are their own people and will have their own thoughts n feelings n stuff separate of trying to appease any reader's personal feelings. however, there are certain human feelings i think are relatively universal, which will likely be present in any conflict, and so appealing to those will really help drive the angst home

I didn't even watch "WISH" yet because in my country it will only be available at january, but people are saying it's a bad cliche so I probably won't watch at the cinema.

The thing is, even though I am a hopeless romantic, not everything has to have romance. There are princess who are perfectly fine without a prince, like Mirabel, Elsa, Merida, Moana and Raya(I do kinda like the idea of Raya with a girl, just not Namaari). But we were so robbed of seeing Asha and the star boy(he is literally a staR so I don't doubt Disney would call him StaN or something like that, so his name is Stan from now on, I am gonna call him like that, is easier than star boy). Asha and Stan had the potential to be the next Tianaveen and Rapunzel&Eugene (I don't know their ship name). The concept arts are the cutest thing I have ever seen. Also "At All Costs" (bop) would have been a love song between the two!!! Them singing it man. The pain I will feel when I don't see them passionately sing it, very "I see the light" coded, in the actual movie. Somehow, now is not feminist for a strong female character to have a male partner by her side. Like...This doesn't make sense! You can be a strong female character and have a man at the same time! Have y'all forgotten Mulan and Shang? Anna and Kristoff? Ariel and Eric? Jasmine and Aladdin? (There are more examples and I could go on all day, but you got what I meant already) I hate Disney for throwing good ideas at the trash and playing safe just for money(like Hobie Brown/Spider-Punk said "it's a metaphor for capitalism"). And as the guy looked blonde with blue/green eyes in the arts I have seen, and Asha is a black latina, they lost the opportunity of having a biracial couple ACTUALLY DONE RIGHT (Pocahontas and John Smith don't count, he is a collonizer with the most common name in the world, she deserves so much better). Like, if the thing is show how inclusive you are by having a black latina female protagonist for little girls to see and feel represented in a good way, you could have increased that feeling by making someone fall in love for her. Little girls would feel like they are beautiful and desired/desireable in a positive way and that they worthy of being loved and love and be with whoever they want to be with, even someone who has a different skin color.

I am also mad because we could have seen Disney's first evil villain COUPLE with King Magnifico and his wife, the queen(still don't know her name, sorry). Can't you guys imagine the HITS, THE FIRST PLACE OF BILLBOARD HOT 100 WORTHY songs, they would proportionate us? Even if only one song, it would be enough for me. But someone thought having a female villain would be anti-feminist and they discarded an original and authentic idea, which is what Disney built its empire on the first place. Come on Disney minorities don't want to be portrayed as those unrealistic superior beings, they want to be portrayed as real human beings with emotions, struggles, qualities and flaws. Having an iconic female villain like you guys always had(like Maleficent, Cruella De Vil, Ursula, Mother Gothel, Lady Tremaine, etc) and set her up with an iconic male villain(like Gaston, Doctor Facilier, Shan Yu, Jafar, Hans, etc) it would have been top notch, god tier. King Magnifico and the queen could have been like the Gomez and Morticia of evil. You could address so many topics by it. Like the kingdom being ruled by evil would have been a great social critic of some politicians out there, for example. And we could have had an iconic final boss battle between Asha and Stan VS Magnifico and the queen.

-I'll be answering all of these for my thg dr!!! Full names have been avoided tho bcs. I'm not trying to show up on ppls dashes & get put in a reddit cringe comp yk </3

💐: Do your s/os have a certain interest or hobby that they gush about? How long have they been enraptured by it? Have they tried to get you interested too?

H- There's the obvious poetry, and the eventual looking after geese, but those hobbies are very personal and I don't think I'd want to encroach on them too much. He does read a lot though, when hes sober, brings books to games control and stuff- genre doesn't seem to matter so much but he leans toward histories, biographies, collections of geographical information or short stories. Its always interesting to walk in and see whatever he's picked up on a given day, and I like to ask about them on his better days because hearing him give terrible abridged explanations of serious capitol history or legacy or whatever is pretty funny.

B- Invention is again the obvious, but I think given the workload the Capitol give him and the influence it has on the rebellion, building some new machine for the workforce or coding is much more of a job for him than a hobby. In terms of actual hobbies, he collects a lot of really old stuff. Most of it is unusable or scrap tech parts, but he has a good deal of pre-panem records and complicated machines that he works on repairing in his spare time. I'm hopeless with tech and mechanical stuff, but I think I'd enjoy getting to hear him talk over the phone about some ancient computer element he managed to get his hands on. The process of putting it back together might not make sense to me, but I'm still invested in it.

C- Cooking! He doesn't do it very often because, again, he isn't usually sober, but getting to test recipes and intricate techniques and just sort of. Learn how to make good food without any monetary strings attached is very enjoyable for him. He can't bake so well, but the savory stuff he's made that I've been able to taste has been phenomenal. Of everybody hes also the most encouraging and spontaneous with his bursts of inspiration- most of our calls are ridiculously late at night, spurred on by an outlandish flavor combination he thought of on the spot and now wants my opinion on. I've shared a lot of traditional D10 recipes with him to reportedly good results, and it makes me happy to know he takes my thoughts on it all so seriously.

W-Her biggest hobby really is inventing- I don't think she talks about it as much, not unless somebody asks or shes actively bouncing new ideas off of someone like Bee, but she definitely gets into a zone when shes drawing up some plan or strategy to build a new machine that is very interesting to watch from an outsiders perspective. I think for her it sort of comes naturally, the desire to build things that better peoples lives and then the execution of that idea in the however-many-stages it goes through, and shes always in her element when shes being challenged by what shes building, which is nice to see. It really is like the world melts away when she has a final concept in mind to work towards, and I'm happy it makes her so happy.

🌼: What do you find the most beautiful about your s/os? What about that aspect of them is so beautiful to you? In turn, what do they think the most beautiful thing about you is?

H- The most beautiful thing about him to me is how hopeful he is. It might sound kinda cliche or dumb but the rare moments of genuine hope I've seen from him- they're always there, just buried most of the time- are so beautiful and raw and I really love that about him, how even through his outward cynicism he always carries that internal sweetness. I also think he has a very beautiful way of thinking- miserable, and dark, but I think there's a lot of merit and poetic quality to that. In terms of physical attributes alone though? 100% his hair. Black curls are just really pretty idk what to tell you

B- His hands. I've dedicated posts to them before and I'll do it again,, his hands,, so pretty,,,, whats that one post um. "If a woman tells you you have nice hands it means shes sending her friends the kind of texts serial killers would send. Free her" its that its that. ASIDE from the hands, his most beautiful quality is his intelligence & dedication. I could literally fill notebooks writing about how deeply touched I am by his meticulous care for everything & in fact I probably will.

C- His humor. Are the jokes terrible? Yes. Does anyone really laugh at them? Not really! But me personally I think the self-deprecating humor and big smile and earnest everything-ness that he exudes is sooooo charming so pleasing so wonderful,,, I love a very genuinely awkward but sweet person I really do and he just. Encapsulates that so completely & I think its beautiful. Again, in terms of just physical attributes, I'd say his smile (obv) aaand maybe his height. I usually go for shorter guys but hes much taller than me and theres something doubly charming about someone so tall being so like. Open and awkward !! I think its cute!!!!!!

W- Her eyes. She stares a lot, and some people find that kind of off-putting (cough cough Hay describing her in the new book as 'unnerving',,,) but they're beautiful to me because they're so expressive and clear that it makes them super easy to capture in drawings or describe. I also think her voice is absolutely lovely, even if she doesn't speak so much. Its quiet but so pretty, and listening to her describe a recent invention? Listening to her sing?? I'm charmed I'm enamored I'm down astronomically bad. Then of course there's her intelligence, which just like,,,,, the capacity to understand everything she does, and to do it so effortlessly, is really brilliant to me. Like its incomprehensible but so cool and I love that about her

As for what they think of me? I really don't know!!! I think I'm pretty enough, so maybe my face? My sarcasm? My knowledge- not so much in academics or machines, but in medicine and plants? My singing? My loyalty?? Genuinely who's to say. Maybe none of those things!!! I'll have to ask sometime lol

🌻: How do your friends describe you and your s/os relationship? Do you and your s/os share a lot about your relationship or do you keep a lot of it secret?

Though our relationship is very secret (It isn't even legal to be queer, so we can hardly get away with a public 5 person inter-district polycule) my close friends know, or have inferred, that I'm dating other victors by the time we hit our late thirties. Naturally my brother Fleece found out first when he discovered the back section of my music notebook was entirely dedicated to songs about them, which meant his wife found out about 20 minutes later. He probably sees it as sweet, or maybe tragic- but Bovie is much more pessimistic about it. I think she would describe us as irresponsible for letting it get to that point, both because of the danger it poses to us and possible bias against helping our own district. She isn't wrong in fairness, but I can already tell its going to cause some sort of argument in future. As for my other friends- Fleeces bandmates & Celio, whos mother ran the apothecary I worked in before the games, I think they would mind their business to a point, or share Fleeces sentiment about it being nice but tragic. Overall, I don't think they would pay it too much mind unless I actively brought it up- which I probably wouldn't do.

Also Ivy's dollar store Garthy O'Brien accent is very off-putting. Stop sounding like a much cooler character, you high school hot girl cliche.

-Is Henry having Gorgug do all three Artificer years at once or one at a time? Cause one's a very logical way to go about it and the other's really not. You know, hyperfocus on finishing Freshman then Sophomore year and then play catch-up on the Junior year material. The smart way to do it. Or is Gorgug having to do Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced course material simultaneously? Cause that's a very dumb way to do it. Whichever way, Gorgug's nailing it, but that second one isn't sustainable.

-At first Fig's whole crisis about her lack of passion for being a Bard struck me as manufactured drama, but I've let it sink in and come to a different take on it. Fig's whole Rebel Punk Girl deal so far was obviously a reaction to the divorce and her life/family kinda falling apart. But now, things are REALLY great for her. Great family, great friends, great girlfriend. Her personal life is goals. So, how much is all that positive change affecting her? Is she over her Punk phase and moving on to something else? Season's not over, let's find out.

-Adaine's starting to use magic means and her connections to make money and I respect it.....BASRAR'S A GENIE! That just sank in right now as I'm typing this. But Brennan's no dummy. If I said something other than that then it was a typo! I'll check and edit when I have a chance. But I think the point I was making was that it would make sense that the Rat Grinders never got more ambitious if Lucy had died the first week of school like Kristen and Gorgug. It makes less sense that they wouldn't ever leave the starting area with no dramatic incident to keep them skittish and that happened in Sophomore Year, not right away. And it def feels like they're copying the Bad Kids. The question is whether it's to just score some extra points or if there are also ulterior motives.

That's also an excellent point! The ideal bitch character is, to quote Heathers, a "mythic bitch". You want her so crazy she doesn't feel real. You want her doing full ass crimes. Ivy is just like, the run of the mill racist bitch you went to high school with. Too close to home. Not fun at all. The only thing it pings for me is disgust. And Garthy is WAY cooler than her. I hope the Bad Kids grind her into dust.

There is a split between D&D mechanics and actual in game reality sometimes and I really hope Brennan is just making Zac roll them simultaneously for mechanics reasons and in reality Gorgug is just taking all three years back to back to back and not simultaneously because it would be, as you said, and INSANE way to structure learning.

I'm kinda curious about where exactly the disconnect is for her because it's not like she needs to even be a musician to be a bard. There are so many different subclasses. Did she get into music just to let out her aggression and now that she doesn't feel so angsty, it's not flowing as well? Would she be feeling this way if she didn't have pressure to put out an album? It's not like she lost her creative spirit in a broad sense--who else but Fig could come up with Wanda Childa? But yeah, it'll be interesting to see where she lands, especially since she has this other stuff in her life going on too that needs to be resolved (curse stuff) and also she is literally the archdevil of rebellion currently which will be hard to pull off is she doesn't feel a connection to it. Which I honestly think she still does because if she didn't, the stuff with Cass wouldn't be working as well (the whole doubt/rebellion tag team and her successful prayer). Anyway, I just think she's in a transitional period. As you said, let's find out where this goes.

There is no way Brennan is gonna let them Basrar-Ex-Machina their way out of their problems without some truly insane rolls but, in character, it wouldn't be out of pocket to ask. Especially since she's the reason he can grant more than just ice cream wishes. But yeah, good on her for using her jacket as a side hustle and I really hope her charging for visions because you know those Falinel elves are sitting on piles of ancestral cash.

I've seen TikToks where people dunk on Rollo and Honest Fellow, and others, mainly in the Spanish and JP fandoms, being confused about this reaction. To play devil's advocate, the main reason is how the game handled them and that they're poorly written characters. I can pinpoint a few reasons why that is...

Honest Fellow: His motivations to make him sympathetic and his actions are at odds with one another.

In that arc, Honest Fellow gleefully turns people into puppets to sell off to the highest bidder, even hinting at some people using them for sexual pleasure in the JP version. Why is he doing this? Because the school system is hard and he wants to get back at rich people. Yes, really. That's one of the dumbest villain motivations I ever heard! How does that justify what he did or put his actions into perspective? He's a human trafficker! By making the reason why he's doing this something so disconnected from the story makes him seem like a sociopathic monster on par with the Coachman. It's like if someone murdered your pet and said they did that because had a hard time in school. That's horrible, but that has nothing to do with that action nor does that make you like that more any more.

(Personally, if I was writing this arc, I would've made his boss the TWST Coachman, who is threatening to turn Giddel into a puppet if he doesn't do what he says. That makes far more sense, and makes his actions more understandable. I think a lot of us had shitty bosses that forced us to do things we disagreed with or would do a horrible act to protect a loved one. It makes him more like his movie counterpart due to Honest John and Gideon being threatened by the Coachman to convince Pinocchio to come to Pleasure Island, despite Honest John thinking it was fucked up. Idk, that's just me.)

Rollo: While he's better written than Honest Fellow due to his motivations at least making sense, he's still not the best written character either. Shitty and lazy character name aside, being a woobie and not adapting the character in a...questionable manner.

A woobie, for those of you who don't know, is an older fandom term used to describe bland pretty characters with a tragic backstory that the author expects you to feel sorry for them and get away with everything. Oh, boy. Does he fit that definition in spades. He's pretty bland. His only real standout personality traits are that he hates magic and the fae, prideful, traditional and possibly athletic. That's it. He has a sad backstory where his brother died in a fire after his magic got out of control. Fine, that's cliche, but it works. Hell, it's kinda clever in a sense where it's inspired by the Hunchback of Notre Dame off-broadway musical. Characters like Idia point out the hypocrisy in Rollo's ideology and that he is really doing this thanks to his own guilt for his brother's death, which is a good thing. The problem is, outside of him being boring as a character, that despite wanting to suck out all of the magic in the world, he got away with it scott free, and his only form of "punishment" was living with the guilt of knowing everyone thinking that he was some sort of hero…despite Malleus wanting revenge on him five minutes earlier. (I don't get it either.) I think a lot of this problem plays into a reoccurring one the game has a whole—the character stagnation and Yana's utter unwillingness to let them face any consequences for their actions. Rollo is also prejudice against the fae if him covering his nose whenever he's around one is to be concerned, which is also never addressed.

I think the way he was handled was in poor taste. Frollo is one of the most realistic villains in the Disney canon and is triggering to a lot of westerners due to his ties with the Catholic church. Unlike the other Great Seven, there's no way to possibly turn his story to make him seem like a hero nor are their any admirable traits. The fact of the matter is that by making Noble Bell honoured after Frollo, who is such a realistic character and is tied up in a lot of religious baggage for westerners, the game is glorifying his actions to an extent. While I know Christianity is a minor religion in Japan, so adding Christian elements to "spice things up" is common in anime, the developers know that the game is being distributed internationally and should've known better. The game should've made Rollo like the staff where he has no dorm or school honoured after his counterpart. That would've lessened the impact a lot.

Both of them: Like I said with Rollo, they completely get away with their crimes, despite everything they did. That is asinine. All actions have punishments, and that goes for them. Plus, the NRC boys are based on villains! Wouldn't they want to exact their revenge on them, especially in Honest Fellow's case who wanted to turn them into living household items and sex dolls! You are based on villains, act like it!

(This is also a huge problem with the game as a whole, but I wrote other posts about that before, so I don't wanna get into it here.)

So, yeah. There reasons why many English speaking fans dislike or despise these characters. Hell, if anything the reason why they are so beloved in JP and Spanish fandom circles is more bizarre to me. I get it. Honest Fellow is hot. But outside of that...Really? So I guess it goes both ways and we can be baffled at each other's choices. xD

DC Pride 2021

ive been meaning to do a read through of the DC Pride series all June. and, well. technically still June!

oh my god i recognize the name of the guy who wrote the foreword as the guy who wrote the shitty at best and misogynistic at worst nightwing 96 annual. so, uh, setting that aside for now, lol. the foreword is very sincere and sweet and im not gonna be one of those assholes who refuses to acknowledge that bc he wrote some dogwater nightwing comic years ago.

this isn't actually my first time reading most of the DC Pride comics, just my first time taking notes as I go through them. I do remember 2/3 of the Kate stories bringing me to tears, even when I didn't really know anything about her character.

ok yeah this one still gets me. go read it. for reference, i start crying the page before we first see kate cry. it's beautifully illustrated, and hits me right where it hurts.

john constantine hits on a extraño, listens to him tell a story about how he and midnighter fought a homophobic neo nazi vampire, and then john invites him and his werewolf husband to a threesome.

i love the vibes thatre just. like its so cliche noir detectives, but lesbians. and the dorky ending. MWAH, chefs kiss.

shout out to the guys that just stay sat eating their food as a giant plant monster tears up the park. while im not at all a fan of the "kiss and make up" trope(s), i do appreciate that this story at least gives some mention to how ivy and harley kinda approach their relationship from opposing angles. like, i like harlivy well enough, but my ideal world is one where they learn about themselves by being together but eventually move on from their romantic relationship and explore new things. i just don't like how heavily DC seems to have tied them together since they became canon. their friendship before was more romantic/compelling in my eyes, somehow.

this one's about alan scott! his history with his sexuality, explored through his relationship with his son. it's an incredibly important angle to look at these things through, the gap between generations and the changes that took time. it's easy enough to forget all that, sometimes. it's fun seeing the difference between how father and son describe the queer experience. it's also just really sweet.

ohhh they made mirror master hot... reflek... dumbass name but a killer outfit. this ones more about the flash family tradition of trying to do it all and bein a bit of a mess, lol.

love that pied piper goes to this guy and is like "yeah ok, i appreciate the effort but this doesn't actually work. like you're right but we gotta figure smth else out bc the world don't work like that." also they do use the phrase "mind-rapey" which for some reason gets me. then they go threaten a landlord <3

pretty sure the main girl "Dreamer" is from a CW show or something, so i've never heard of her. her powers seem cool and the story is cute enough, but i assume it all makes more sense to those who have seen the show.

one of these days ill learn anything about other aqualad. there's a lot going on in this one and i find it hard to follow. it's supposed to be a big "everyone together!!" moment i think, but the story lengths don't allow for enough build up to really pull stuff like that off.

and the end is a bunch of arrowverse profiles, i think. you cant make me watch a CW show, sorry.

i feel like they (unknowingly) actually understand each other so well even without one explaining to the other. but the thing that holds them back from being together is their unhealthy self-perception.

like, simon knows how she is (and it's mentioned in his "POV" chapter), and he doesn't mind it (SEE? he likes his girl insane)—but the problem that keeps making him leave is himself, because he's so scared of change, and probably the fear of one day MC seeing him the way he sees himself.

meanwhile MC desperately trying to hide that she's "unlovable" and doesn't want simon to perceive her the same way her parents (mother) and even her own self do. she kinda… what? overcompensating everything? but even her self-hate leaks when she told him to "use her" just to make him stay.

i feel like if simon doesn't have any internal problems of his own, he would actually stay just for her and without any selfish pursuits. yeah, i WILL CONFIRM that he does like her, maybe a lil bit too much.

IT'S A GOOD Q THO LOL HMMM I know some of it must come from consuming so much anime/manga/TV/movies/books/TTRPGs/games/etc, and then gradually becoming pickier and pickier as I got older in regards to what media I like lol. I really like improv-ing and writing within a set world where there're established rules (which is why doing my own, original work can be tough sometimes). if I think a character concept or interaction is just absolutely PEAK, I glom onto it and think about it for 40 days and 40 nights frfr. That feeling of finding something that makes your brain light up with intrigue is like crack

I also think a lot of it comes from a desire to find ways to make things connect/work in-universe for whatever fandom I'm writing for, so I end up googling a lot and doing a lot of reading up on topics that I think I want to incorporate 🤔 I learn a lot about random things that I can add in and tie to future plot devices/elements/casual unimportant interactions or whatever, and the more i learn about random shite, the more I'm like "OOOH I can use that"

Ex: Divine Favour came about because I found out Sukuna was actually an entity from real af JP folklore (info here if you're curious), and I already had an interest in JP mythos/any mythology in general, so I did research on what yokai I wanted to go with for the reader (y'all ALMOST got a jorougumo instead of a kitsune LOL) and from there, I kind of just read a lot about that topic, and find out new things that I can connect back to JJK/ABO/whatever to make it feel more concrete and tethered and interesting to write/read. (I also did a lot of reading about EMPs caused by solar flares for Burning Bodies even tho that never got mentioned in the fic at all loool)

When it's NOT smth that I do a lot of reading for, I usually find inspo from people around me (mostly their careers/hobbies), and take inspo from my own life and hobbies and what not since I can write confidently about that (ex. acting, entertainment industry, PLANTS!!!!)

The smartest thing I've ever been taught in regards to art is that our own experiences is what makes our art just ours, if that makes sense. You could give 50 writers the same prompt, and the results would be different because of what they've all experienced in their lives that the others have not. It's really a cool way to view the expressions of others and to see how people differentiate and how they see the world and such :'D

I took a little break from reading when I went into vacation because I was so burnt out from everything but now I'm reading again and yeah from this book I like Leo the most Leo my beloved Jason second and Piper third

Just because her whole character seems to be centered around just being the girl who's not like other girls which I find really kinda stupid because Annabeth it's already a strong female character without that so was Silena or Clarisse so idk why going with that

I also don't know if the whole point is just that the Aphrodite cabin just specifically sucks or something but she's not like them but that's the way it seems

I haven't finished reading it yet so I'm not very sure but yeah so far she just seems cliche to me

Which is kinda sad because if they just went more with the route that everybody knows her father and it's trying to get close to her because of him I think that would make more sense to why she wants to distinguish herself from them but that's not really the case she seems to be able to hide that part of her life just fine

Or even if the book leaned into something like she's so pretty that everything anybody gets close to her for is just to date her and she feels like nobody really wants to be her friend or respects her for more than her looks

I think that would have way way more potential

Also the Mark of Athena intimidates me and I don't even know why I will never finish these books and tbh I'm having such a hard time finishing this one because it doesn't have Nico or Percy in it and they are my little guys that keep me glued in

I really dont like the lost hero. Leo is top tier, nothing bad about him. Jason is like the forced counterpart of Percy but he will never be percy like cmon. I cant tell you more without spoilers but like. Jason is the token white boy, nothing special about him to me. Piper's whole personality is being not like other girls.

And yes you're right, if she wanted to seperate herself for those reasons then that would have been understandable. And it's not like Rick cant write strong female characters. Annabeth, Silena, Clarrise, Thalia. In the rest of the series you'll also see Reyna and Meg. Piper is so eehhhhh.

Also there's one reason why I dont like her specifically but again, spoilers so. Not yet.

And when first reading it, I almost stopped reading the lost hero because of the lack of Percy. Then I saw the line "Percy Jackson, her boyfriend" and kept reading. Honestly, very boring still. The rest of the series is way better though I still dont like the blood of Olympus that much.

valaena lives with her gay dads laenor and qarl. i don't think rhaewin is her bio parents in this au i think she just spawned in her bio parents aren't important. rhaewin are married + jacelukejoff are like. in val's periphery as sort of cousins that she sees on summer holiday on driftmark (i LOVE a modern westeros au im sorry) bc rhaenyra + uncle daemon are in a weird psychosexual thing in all universes n floats in the velaryon's orbit

top of her class overachiever will die if she gets below an 89. in a bunch of extra curriculars

ben is like. not really goth/emo/one of those subcultures but some sort of alternative idk. hardly goes to school but still effortlessly gets straight as and it drives val INSANE!!! one sided rivalry that isn't actually one sided bc val takes up sooo much real estate in his mind too even though he puts on a show of not caring about her

sort of like judd nelson and molly ringwald from the breakfast club in terms of aesthetics

laena's son (i've been calling him aemon but that's subject to change) is born maybe 126ac like in the show, maybe we'll use the f+b year 120ac. is betrothed to valaena while he's still in the cradle and she's either 10 or 4 LOL. in this au im using the betrothal reason that's used in f+B so let's just say its 120 and she's four.

they get married when she flowers. so like 12/13, aemon is 9ish. obviously they arent expected to consumate.

relationship is very much annoying younger brother who happens to be her husband and thus the boss of her, but i can see that changing as aemon gets older and wants to uhhh claim his rights

they go on a royal progress for some. reason. idk. maybe rhaenyra comes to the throne properly in this au. doesn't matter why its for the vibes and they go to raventree on this progress. im thinking val is 16 when they do, so yeah we'll say no dance (FOR NOW 👀 more on that in a sec) n is a lot more mellow on the whole prissy thing that ben has an issue with when they're younger so. naturally enough its a love at first sight thing.

(daughters areeee tentatively aerea for aemon and daera for ben. subject to change though)

A/N: This is inspired by a tiktok chain I saw so please bare with me. Also��I'm really not good at heartbreak writing so..... this is this and yeah. WOAH wrote this in an hour

Summary: Reader is on borrowed time after being fatally wounded. They say their goodbye’s with Spencer.

Today was the day Spencer lost himself. The day it was all too much. The day the weight on his shoulders finally broke him. It was the day Spencer lost you.

The day had gone by fairly quickly, the unsub was [thankfully] very predictable. You had caught up to him really fast, thanks to Spencer’s amazing geographic profile, and your ability to decode the messages the killer left behind. As you approached the apartment of Sheila Jacobs, the latest victim, you took caution. Something didn’t feel right. Then again, you’re approaching a serial killer with a hostage; how was it supposed to feel? Hotch signals the team to begin their silent entrance, and guns aimed, you entered the apartment.

“Jared Anderson? FBI. Drop the weapon.”

“Don’t move. I swear to god I will shoot her. Stay back!”

Holstering your weapon, you begin, “Jared? It’s alright. We don’t want to hurt you. Let Sheila go and we can work this out.”

“You think that’s fair? After what she did to me? All those years in high school? Nuh-uh. I don think so.”

He had a far point. This Sheila girl was, according to Garcia, a Grade-A mean girl. She and her friends, all of which now dead, tormented Jared all throughout high school. Of course, that doesn't excuse murder, but your heart slightly ached for Jared.

“Look, Jared. I’m with you. Sheila really is a bitch.” You knew what you were doing and so did your team, which is why they allowed you to continue, hands in a position of surrender, hoisted in the air.

“See! That’s why she needs to die!”

“No, Jared. She doesn't. She needs to live. Think about it! Think about what all the news channels are going to say! You will finally get to be the victim Jared. Nobody is going to feel sorry for the bully. She practically brought this on herself. Let her go so we can show the world how fake this woman really is.”

Hoping that this worked, you study Jared’s face. Of course, you didn't mean any of this, but Jared's fantasy has blurred the lines of reality, and now all you had to do was play along.

You see Jared’s face soften as he begins to surrender. He let’s sheila go, and she runs behind you, probably into the arms of Tara or JJ. You reached for the gun Jared held, when suddenly he jerked his arm away, aiming the gun right in between your eyes.

“Wait. You lied to me. I can see it in your face.”

“Don’t do this Jared.” You heard Derek say firmly in the background.

“What? You mean this?”

Two gunshots. That’s all it took. One from the revolver Spencer carried, and one from the handgun Jared possessed.

Your side felt warm. Rubbing your fingers over the area, you felt pain. A lot of it. Your bloody fingertips only confirmed your theory; you'd been shot.

The rest was a blur. Bouncing in and out of consciousness, losing so much blood, your head pounding, your side throbbing, the screams of your team calling for an ambulance.

This might just be it, you thought, my final moments.

“Hey. Listen to me, okay? I need you to stay awake for me. The ambulance is a couple of minutes away. Stay awake for me and for them okay?”

You felt your body lift off the cold ground. Your turn your head.

“Spencer.”

“Shh. Shh, it's okay. I’ve got you. Just stay with me, okay? Stay awake sweetheart.” Tears were streaming down his face as he attempted to flash a comforting smile at you. He had never called you that before...sweetheart. You liked the sound of it. It sounded much better than ‘Agent’. You tried your hardest, you really did, to stay awake.

You know, maybe the darkness isn't so bad. It’s warm there. Let me go there.

“Hey. I said stay awake.”

The bright white of the ambulance severely contrasted that of your beautiful darkness. It took you a second to adjust but once you did, you saw Spencer. The beautiful agent stared down at you. You wish you could tell him sooner, you thought, how beautiful he was. He needed to hear that. You wish you had the energy to tell him that now. He needed to hear those words, even if they were your last.

“I love you” you managed to croak out.

“Hey, hey. I love you too. Save your words okay? Talk to me when you’re recovering.”

You could tell by the look on his face that it was hopeless. You were too far gone. Nothing could save you.

“It was always you.”

“W-What?”

Damnit. If you weren't so weak, you'd tell him everything. You’d tell him how you had looked forward to going to work if it meant seeing him. You'd tell him that his big brain amazed you and that you blushed every time he would ramble about some irrelevant fact that only he seemed to know. You’d tell him that at times, you'd dream of kissing his soft, pink lips. You’d tell him how sometimes when you felt lonely, you’d hold your palms together, imagining they were his. You’d tell him that you loved him and that he was pretty stupid for a genius to not see it. You wish you could tell him everything, but you couldn’t. Your words, much like your time, were limited.

Somehow, someway, Spencer understood. He understood what you meant. He took your hand in his, tears incessantly leaking out of his eyes.

“The thought of loosing you makes it bard to breathe. I wish you could stay. I wish you could see how much I need you. You’re the best thing that ever happened to me. I wish I would've told you sooner. I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.”

“Its okay. In another life” You knew Spencer didn't believe in this, but maybe you would. These thoughts comforted you in this sad time. 

“Visit my dreams, would you? Find me again. I can't make it here without you.” He was sobbing. He lifted your hand to his face, your skin feeling the cool tears that streamed down his cheeks. You were slipping away, you could feel it.

Before you could finish your last “I love you”, the darkness consumed you for the last time.

It had been almost a year now, since your departure. Your team missed you. Your sad picture hung on the wall of fallen agents, and not a day went by where they didn't look at it and miss you. You missed them too. You wish you could've said goodbye. It hit Spencer the hardest, however. But healing takes time. Spencer missed you, of course, but he knew you wouldn't want him to sulk around. You'd want him to look for you. In reality, Spencer never really believed in the reincarnation theory. For some reason, you took his “If science can't prove it, it isn't real” mantra and threw it out the window but the slightest bit of Spencer knew you would come back for him, and you did.

You came in his dreams. Whenever Spencer really needed a pick-me-up or any form of encouragement, you would tell him the exact words he needed to hear.

He knew you were there through your smell. Throughout the day, Spencer would smell vanilla, your favorite scent. The warm tones of vanilla always seemed to calm him, as he was reminded of your beautiful face.

He knew you were there by the clock. Whenever he’d get a random urge to look at the time, or whenever he just simply needed it, you'd always be there. 11:11, 2:22, 3:33, 5:55. You were there with him.

Spencer was at comfort knowing this. Hopefully one day you'd come back to him through someone else, so he could finally say the things he needed to say. So he could finally say, that he’d been in love with you for so long.
