What is Ikemen Sengoku: Eien?
Ikemen Sengoku: Eien (Eternal Bonds) is a new application for Ikemen Sengoku, using updated UI and architecture to modernize it and serve as a continuation for the story of Ikemen Sengoku. Act 3 will continue in the new app, and Act 2 sequels for current characters are also being planned to be included in Eien going forward.
Why is it being made?
According to the dev team, the current Ikemen Sengoku app is showing its age. In April of 2022, the app was inaccessible for approximately one month due to server issues caused by unauthorized third party access to the game's servers which caused damage to user data. Although steps have been taken to update the systems and strengthen security, there is only so much that can be done with a program that's 10 years old. A complete revamp of the existing app will take too much resources and time. Therefore, the decision was made to create a new app using more moden practices and capability.
What are the features of Eien?
Eien is presumably going to be modeled after the Ikemen Prince and Ikemen Villains apps. A list of features is below:

When will Eien be available?
Eien will be released in the fall. No conrete date is available yet. Preregistration is currently ongoing.
Will Eien have old stories?
It is planned for all routes to be ported to Eien eventually, but not all of them will be available at launch. Some will be available at launch, while others will be added over time. As of right now, there are no specifics on which routes they are or what the timeline for this is.
After all existing routes have been ported, there are plans to add an archive where assets from Ikemen Sengoku can be viewed in Eien. At the moment, it is unclear what is meant by assets.
What is Act 3? What is the plot?
In Act 3, a new enemy force the Ashikaga army faction seek to travel back in the past in order to change the childhood of the warlords. You, as the protagonist, will experience conflict as you witness the pain of their childhoods with your own eyes. This is a tale of the past, present, and future, about a search for happiness that transcends time itself. Act 3 is a tale of love more dramatic than anything before, as you find yourself shaken by the appearance of new enemies that leave you questioning your values.
Act 3 will begin with Nobunaga's Continuation Route.
Continuation routes also feature route splits. One of the route splits will contain CGs of the suitor as a child.

Furthermore, after fulfilling certain conditions when finishing a Continuation Route (likely to be maximum points, just like getting epilogues currently), you can obtain a story where you marry the suitor. This story also contains a CG.

What will happen to the old app?
Starting from fall, the old Ikemen Sengoku app will only have reruns. By the end of December 2025, the app will stop updating entirely, with no more events running at all.
Can you transfer your data over? What will be transferred between the old app and Eien?
There is a data transfer capability but not everything can be transferred. There is a campaign going on where your total Beauty and Glamour will grant you items in the new app based on how much of each you have, and some things will transfer. At this point, we don't have any information on what will be transferred to the new app. More information will come at a later date.
What about the English version?
I don't know anything about that at this point, it's best to wait for official announcements. Please also do note that all info that I have is specific for the JP version, I do not know if it applies to the EN version.

Yes. Chapter 6 should be publicly releasing this coming Thursday. 
Chapter 6 is currently in early access on Patreon and yeah, a few more days of that before the release goes public.
The jury's in and...so far, everyone agrees that Noel's butt gets many mentions in this release. And that's a good thing.  🍑

Since my last update I have not done too much art-wise but I did make two new BGs for a sequence in Chapter 7 and I worked on a new minor character sprite.
I actually do have a fair amount of art to do for Chapter 7 - I have 5 minor characters who need sprites, and while I will be re-using the sprite base for some of them, I still will be giving them unique hair, outfits, etc.
And I have the CGs (but that's for later).
The new BGs relate to some of the edits, which required some additional locations.
Writing:
I've been doing a lot of revising for this chapter as I work on coding expressions. 
And I added about 1500 words of new content for some short scenarios in the "No LI" route.
I went back through my Patreon posts and figured out that I first drafted Chapter 7 around September 2023 and then did the main revision of it in April 2024. So it's been a *while.* 
Re-reading it now I think it's natural to want to fix it up given that so much is going on in this chapter. 
Notably, this chapter is so long - over 80k with the new content - that I was clearly struggling with writing the same events multiple times. After the third time, rewriting the same events from a different perspective gets so tiring. I think it can be interesting to see how a different character's involvement in an event can alter how things flow. But it is really tedious to write...
So while I didn't copy/paste anything...they did all have pretty similar events through this one particular section. Thus, while coding in expressions I've also stopped to revise some sections to add a little variability in exactly what happens. 
Other Stuff:
Coding sprite expressions, as I've said.
Usually with sprites, I go through and stage all the comings and goings and sprite positions first. When I get those done, I start coding in expressions, starting with the MC, then going through all the characters individually.
I also usually get the menu branching coded first. This is just because it helps break the routes up into sections so I can keep track of it all better.
This time around, I'm fully coding the expressions in the menu - so first I code Wil's menu faces, then everyone else's menu expressions. 
There are enough choices in this chapter that by the time I have all the menu branching coded with expressions, I'll have about 35% of the total expressions coded. So it's a decent chunk of the overall expression work.
So I've gone through Asher and Daaz so far. And started on Noel.
I have the common route menus done too, of course.
Upcoming Weeks:
A couple of things in upcoming weeks:
As mentioned, Chapter 6 public release will be happening on or around Thursday the 26th!
While that is going on, I'll be continuing to work on sprite expressions for Chapter 7. My goal is to get all the menu expressions done this week which will put expressions at about 35% complete. And then I will continue to work on getting those done. 
Probably going to try to keep doing a bit of art every evening to just get some of that squared away early on instead of saving it all until the end.
Chapter 7 is so massive that I really want to buckle down and focus on trying to get it released by early-mid September if possible. That is when a lot of my free time to game dev will go away and I want to get as much work as possible done while I can.

Update functionality! So if they get more dialogue in the future, all you need to do is tell them to update and they'll grab it automatically!
Other ukagaka functionality (checking your email, deleting the files in your recycling bin, recognising certain files you drag and drop onto them)
And three whole shells! One made by the fantastic Danganny_art (Instagram) (X/Twitter) (check her post on it over here!!), the other made by @smooley (Instagram) (Itch.io) (coming soon!!)!! (I made the third but it was mostly for sprite sheet reference haha)
They come with their own unique balloon as well, made by @ageofzero!! It comes with designs from all 6 of the mainline games, so you can choose your favourite!
I have also posted all of their dialogue lines on ao3 in case you can't get ssp to work, though it's only the barebones dialogue from their release version.
Here's how to grab them --
Download SSP (you are looking for the ダウンロード button)
(as a note, SSP currently only runs on Windows. for solutions to a linux setup, check here!)
Make sure to place SSP in its own folder! Don't extract it directly onto your desktop and don't remove any of the files from its folder. Not even the application.
(You might have to add ssp to the exceptions on your virus protection software so it can run.)
Say hello to Emily (the cat girl)! She will always be there to greet you the first time you run ssp.
Download Layton and Luke's .nar! (You can download their balloon separately, but they come bundled with it so that's not necessary)
Drag Layton and Luke's .nar file onto Emily once she's finished speaking so she will install it.
(Alternatively, if you are having trouble with this, a .nar file is just another .zip, so you can grab the files from it and place it into a folder yourself! Make the new folder in the Ghosts folder of ssp's files (you will see Emily's folder in there!) (make sure to name it the same name as the .nar itself) and place all of Layton and Luke's files inside it!)
Then you can switch or call up Layton and Luke by right clicking on Emily and selecting them from the Switch Ghosts or Call Ghosts options! Simple as that!

It's February y'all! Actually it has been for a couple of days—yes, I've noticed! The team and I are buried in work and I only found time to start writing our newest devlog right now, with my cat on my lap and a bellyache!
First of all—this is the first devlog where the "Kickstarter vs Public" updates will be noticeable. Our Kickstarter and future Patreon devlogs will include more info (they already did, but now we'll tune down the spoilers we show publicly), which doesn't mean our public updates will be a flop. At least I hope so!

This January, we finished Amon and Ara's reworks completely, and Raquel also managed to pull off Envy and Raeya's. Pride's is ready to see the world, but we'll post it on Discord tomorrow most likely, and then you know how it goes! Poor Raquel has been working her ass off, as per usual.

For the next couple of weeks, Raquel will work on updating the expression charts of every LI! Our plan is to have our first demo update around February 17th, aligned with the start of the Storyteller Steam Festival; that update will include the sprites overhaul, a few fixes, as well as a sneak-peek of the patch notes you'll be able to check in game every time we update not only the demo, but the full game in the future.

A strange building suddenly appears in your quiet town...
Being able to hire Airyn for the Extended Demo is giving us a boost we so desperately needed. Airyn and Astro are incredible background artists and they work together so so well, which I hope you can appreciate in this small sneak peek of the outside of Master Lysander's shop. On January Astro finished the concept and 3D modelling of this background, and Airyn now has it in her very expert hands. Right now, Astro is working on our third and last Extended Demo background, and let me tell you it's looking delicious!

So far, we have 10k+ extra words in the script. I say so far because it's still a long way from being finished. I can say that every LI, as we promised, we'll be getting a new, one on one scene with the MC, but I'm aiming for two—one short, one long. The story will be paced better and you'll get a bit more time with Raeya, who was the most affected by our initial demo being shortened.
Choices were also something y'all wanted to see more of, so right now those are sitting at 75~. Not 75 choice menus; 25 choices so far with 3-4 options each. The current demo version has...like 15~ if I remember correctly.

In my most recent programming adventure, I fixed some stuff thanks to the help of dear Feniks and got ready a pop-up screen that will appear every time the demo / game updates, so y'all can see what's new. The game will remember you've already seen it once and won't make it appear again unless you want it to via a button :^)

A lot of things going behind the scenes this past month! Organizing our taxes, fighting minor inconveniences, talking to our voice actors, checking files, getting the Kickstarter Backer discord role ready, sorting out documents, dealing with our daily lives...

FEBRUARY DEVLOG - 1

The third DEVLOG has arrived...this time spelled correctly! Lots of progress has been made since the last update!
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
So, about saves! I don't know if people noticed the edited DEVLOG from last time, but...it seems that you WILL be able to use your demo saves for the prelude! Testing looks good so far, so hoping it stays this way. Thank goodness, because now all those watermelons you collected in HEADSPACE won't be for nothing! Why is that...? Well! Hehe...
PROGRESS:
Remember how last time I said majority of maps were completed? That was incorrect. NOW the majority are done and only a couple are left. I've made so many maps this week. Thumbs up (fades into dust)
NPCs got cooked up. Basically all are complete, unless a couple more are needed, but for now, basically a done task. Some character sprite art needs to be made still, but not a lot!
All battle art is complete, including enemies, and portraits. They have also been programmed in, so they are fully functional, and battles are a done task! Wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be, thankfully! Battlebacks still need to be made, but those are relatively quick.
OST...I said last time it was near complete. I was wrong. NOW it's near complete. At the moment, there are currently 44 tracks for the full dreamer prelude (including the demo tracks!). There's still a couple more to be made, but definitely mostly done ^^ It's going to be a LONG compilation video!
Writing was on the back-burner while I was focusing on creating assets. That doesn't mean there wasn't progress! Still, from this point on, writing and programming will be a main focus now that majority of assets are complete.
Portraits are not all complete. SUNNY needs more hospital portraits, and BASIL also needs new real world portraits! Those will take a bit...
Currently, all the mirror locations still need to be done, which means completing the battle-backs first. There is also a new title screen art that needs to be done. Along with that...a major, drawn cutscene, and another rougher cutscene...and maybe another short one, as well as art for the credits. A lot of art to do...
NOTES:
March is looking bright! Very bright! One part of the panic now comes from hoping I can program and write everything in a speedy manner, including NPC dialogue and miscellaneous stuff. Once again, a ton of the content is optional. But, like the DEMO, you are rewarded for you investment ^^ There's also a lot of secrets, so, good luck! Badges will be even more fun this time around!
Everyone really stepped up with the NPCs and I am very thankful for the sprite teams help! The OST is also coming along so well thanks to everyone. I've also appreciated the people who have taken the time to answer questions about programming and such that I have!
Still, the biggest point of stress is that I'm doing all the art, and I don't know how quickly I can do these cutscenes. One of them is very important to look clean and beautiful, and I have to do my best to stay very on style, which isn't as easy in cutscenes as it is with portraits. Along with that, real world portraits take longer than, say, STRANGER, who is monochrome. DREAMER was pretty time consuming, but I'm not as solid on real world portrait style yet. I'll figure it out, hopefully...
I'm also concerned once again about the trailer, and making art ahead of time for it for future events. I think it'll be okay, though? I usually pull through! And if need be, I can simplify the trailer a little.
CONCLUSION:
Currently, (along with completing the remaining assets) the goal is for me to complete all the writing/programming to start playtesting before March 1st, which means the PRELUDE will be completed and playable before March. This will NOT include the final art, such as cutscenes, and trailer art that aren't required for progression. So, while playtesting is happening, I will hopefully step back and really get all that art done so the mid-March release is possible!
There's still so much to do, but so much has been done, and I'm very proud of how things are going-to the point I even find the DEMO very lacking compared to the full PRELUDE! Please look forward to the coming release, and the next DEVLOG!

Blog Guidelines:
I post rips/archive works up to once a day, aside from answering asks or blog updates. I run on a queue usually. I may post less frequently depending on how busy I am.
I will not answer requests directly, but I DO read every request and try to get to them in order. It's just me here, a one-man band. So please be patient if I do not get to your ask/request soon.
There is a 30 image limit per post, so I will space out requests and similar content across posts if needed. I will leave links on each post that has another post that directly connects to it.
I try to answer and post requests as precisely as possible, but please note that an unclear or overly broad request will have to be taken with a grain of salt. As of the 22nd of June 2025, Ikemen Sengoku: Romances Across Time celebrates a major milestone, its 10th anniversary. We extend our deepest gratitude to all who have supported us over the years.
Ikemen Sengoku began as a small seed with a goal to become an “IP that would last a decade”. That seed sprouted when being watered with your love, and has since grown to become more than just an app; it branched out to stage plays, anime, merchandise, and much more. We truly believe it was thanks to your unwavering affection for the warlords, that this tree has grown so large and full.
Now, as we reach this point of our ten year journey and embark on a new decade together, we are proud to announce the launch of our new app: “Ikemen Sengoku: Romances Across Time – Eternity”
Why The New App?
The existing app has built a long and meaningful legacy with our playerbase, and every member of our development team is deeply attached to it. In preparation for this 10 year anniversary, we have held countless discussions about the future of Ikemen Sengoku beyond this point.
The team wishes to keep Ikemen Sengoku running and bring you joy for many more years to come. However, as the years went by during the long-term operation of the existing app, various issues have accumulated — issues that must be addressed.
Despite having received many requests regarding the system over the years, this app was built on a foundation from ten years ago. This makes any significant improvement works and updates extremely challenging, and this is something we have always felt sorry about.
In April 2022, the app experienced a major service disruption due to unauthorised third-party access, which resulted in the corruption of our data. The process of fully recovering the lost user data took over a month, and we sincerely apologise for the immense inconvenience and concern this incident caused. Since then, we have been working hard on reinforcing our security measures, migrated servers, and upgraded the system to prevent reoccurrence.
With the next ten years in mind, we carefully considered the best way to proceed and ultimately decided that launching an entirely new app would be the most effective and lasting solution. This new app will be our platform to continue delivering heart-fluttering experiences for many more years going forward.
About the New App
The new app, Ikemen Sengoku: Romances Across Time – Eternity”, will continue the theme of “a dramatic love worth putting your life on the line for”, which is the core of Ikemen Sengoku. It will introduce new experiences such as a commu (bond) points feature to bring you closer to the warlords, a cards system where you can enjoy voiced lines and beautiful illustrations, and a brand new story arc: Act 3.
From here on, all new content – including main story routes, sequels, and events – will be added to the new app.
Previously released main story routes and sequels will also eventually be ported over. However, only a selection of warlords’ stories will be available at launch, but will be included over time(※).
The new app will also feature major improvements such as enhanced visual storytelling with blinking character sprites and more immersive scenes. We hope you will enjoy visiting the old stories in their richer, more expressive versions.
System improvements that were difficult to implement in the existing app, such as free avatar item placement and free premium currency (the word used here was “diamonds”), will also be included, making for an even more enjoyable experience.
(※) Due to system differences, some distribution formats and bonuses may differ; further details will be provided at launch.
About Act 3
As previously mentioned, Act 3 will be delivered through the new app. This new arc will be kicked off with the release of Nobunaga Oda’s second sequel.
In Act 3, a new enemy force – the Ashikaga Forces – appears, travelling back in time to the warlords’ pasts in an attempt to twist history and seize complete control of the era. As the protagonist, you will witness your beloved's past firsthand and grapple with your emotions. It is a story about time travelling, that asks where your true happiness lies – past, present, or future? Act 3 will bring even more dramatic and emotionally resonant romances, as you're forced to question your values and confront new threats. In the main stories, sequels, and second sequels that unfold in Act 3, one of the branched out routes will feature illustrations and scenes of the warlords as children, offering a glimpse into their innocent younger selves. In the second sequels, you will also be able to experience a wedding ceremony with the warlords and illustrations, so we hope you will look forward to these heartwarming additions.
Additionally, for warlords who were planned to receive their sequels in Act 2, those will also be delivered through the new app. Please stay tuned for more information.
About the New Warlords
Starting from Act 3, the new faction – the Ashikaga Forces – will introduce five new warlords: Yoshiteru Ashikaga, Hisahide Matsunaga, Kanbei Kuroda, Saizo Kirigakure, and Sen no Rikyu.
These new characters with unique characteristics compare favourably with the warlords you have come to know and love, and will add greater depth to the Ikemen Sengoku world.
With a total of 22 warlords, there will be plenty of new encounters and interacting with these new warlords will also allow you to see new sides of the existing warlords. We will continue to dive deeper into each warlord’s personality, portraying them even more vividly.
Data Linking
To ensure a smooth transition for long-time players of Ikemen Sengoku, we will be holding a data linking campaign between the existing app and the new one.
Do note that due to system limitations, transferring all saved data and items will not be possible. However, we will do everything we can to provide fair rewards and facilitate a smooth transition.
What you can transfer:
Based on your “Charm” and “Princess Points” in the existing app, you will receive special items in the new app e.g. story chapter tickets, gacha tickets, closet space, and items to boost your “Princess Points” – please refer to the in-app data linking page to check which rewards you qualify for.
A new feature called “Sengoku All-Time Ranking” will be introduced in the new app, which combines your “Charm” and “Princess Points” from both apps for an overall ranking.
Some rewards earned in the existing app will also be gifted again in the new app. Details on the eligible events and bonuses will be shared in future updates.
※ This campaign is limited to players who have cleared the tutorial in Ikemen Sengoku before the release date of the new app.
Instructions on how to link accounts and the reward details can be found on the data-linking page. If you generate a data link ID by 8th of July 0000hrs JST, you will receive 20 story chapter tickets to use in the existing Ikemen Sengoku app as a special gift.
The Future of The Existing App
The existing Ikemen Sengoku app will cease to receive new event updates in September 2025, and will continue to host rerun events until the end of December 2025. From that point on, all new “long stories” i.e. main story, sequels, second sequels, and events will only be available on the new app.

Not to be dramatic or anything, but thank you for your great chasemarsh art and for drawing the girls. Sometimes I genuinely worry that Victoria and Kate would be forgotten by this fandom, when they shouldn't bc they're also very important female characters to the story. people tend to treat Max and Chloe as if they're the only female characters so thank u for doing Kate and Vic justice!

Thank you for the kind words, both Kate and Victoria are hella important characters and I'm glad to see them still get love. One of the things that motivated me to start making fanart was seeing how barren the other character tags were compared to Chloe, Max and Rachel
At some point Chasefield was the 2nd most popular ship in the fandom but as time went on I feel like the new batch of fans we're getting didn't really explore the game's world as well as the older generation did or got into the franchise through watching speedruns or even worse, they saw tik tok edits of only the max/chloe scenes and nothing else
It's actually painful lol we used to have ask blogs for characters like Brooke, people would do shitposts and scenarios that involved all the other blackwell kids- now whenever i feature them somewhere id get questions on who's who
I'm hoping that my project at least has that old fandom spirit of appreciating Arcadia Bay and the world building

As of January we reached 59 downloads for the PC version and 80 browser plays for the web version, so in total 139 people played the demo... Holy shit amazeballs
Now going into this I knew it will never reach Love is Strange numbers and level of hype cause it's been almost 10 years but oh my god I didn't expect this many people playing lol
It’s kind of a gamble making a fan game featuring a divisive/antagonistic side character
my goal was around 50 downloads and browser plays for the FINAL RELEASE of the game, we hit that shit on day one with the goddamn demo- ya'll are amazing for that
I'm gonna try my best to get this project done as soons as May or June of this year, game deving isn't easy but I will try to update yall on a monthly basis.
Next week's tasks are the new journal entry and revamping Victoria's sprites

Update: Pokémon Infinite Fusion will cease the use of AI-generated dex entries, as well as work on automating sprite removal (the message in the third image comes from PIF staff chats and has not been made public)!
Thank you all so much for making this possible. I never imagined the reaction that my previous post would end up getting. Again, thank you guys for supporting and standing with the artists in the community.
The popularity of this post also caused some misconceptions, so I want to correct those while I'm at it, but it's not a necessity to read it all.

Quietly obsessing over the fact that, based on how you can get to The Fury in the base game, Voice of the Stubborn will be the common denominator of the two possible starting routes, but also that his role in Fury might change depending on whether he’s the second or third Voice you meet.
I don’t remember exactly which interview I heard the devs say this, but I remember them saying that the second Voice you met was usually less helpful in the Chapter II they appear in, but the third Voice who appears in Chapter III is more helpful in that their advice guides you towards a conclusive ending to the relationship/story you’ve built with the Princess in that particular loop. But I don’t remember there ever being a route where you can get the exact same Voice from two different circumstances (unless Voice of the Paranoid can show up in The Wraith from Spectre’s direction, in which case I’m being a dum-dum).
In Adversary > Fury, Stubborn’s a perfect mirror of Adversary in that he’s accepted his role in the story as Her Eternal Enemy and enjoys it so much that he doesn’t question it. Contrarian being introduced serves as a potential destabilizing, deconstructive influence who might encourage him and Fury to start questioning their respective places in the narrative. Meanwhile, Tower > Fury has him introduced as the third voice in a manner that seems similar to his appearance in Den, where he sees himself as protecting us from a bully by encouraging us to stand up for ourself and fight back instead of meekly accepting our role as prey. But he also has no prior relationship with Fury and therefore no time to get comfortable in his role as Enemy, nor has Tower-Fury ever encountered an aspect of us with quite as willful and unrelenting as Stubborn.
Still, I don’t think it’s going to be just like Den where Stubborn is only helpful in the ending where you try to slay the Princess in revenge. I think there’s a reason why he’s in both versions of the route, even if it feels like Fury’s going to be a radically different character based on which route you approach her from, much like the Greys. I think, like the Greys, there’s a common theme to her route that makes both versions converging on the same role make sense despite the two versions of her being completely different characters. Fury’s route has this theme of literal and figurative deconstruction as both versions of her are denied what each sees as their purpose, throwing the cycle of violence/domination between us off its axis though not breaking it entirely, and then this possible theme of exploration/self-exploration as she takes us apart to try to figure out what that means. For whatever reason, Stubborn needs to be there, regardless of whether he’s initially helpful or not. And the updated Fury route will have the most new dialogue, sprites, and music out of all the upcoming new content for The Pristine Cut, if not all the base game routes in general. I find that extremely suspicious. There is something more the devs want to say with Fury, and, again, Stubborn has to be there for it.
Not to mention that, even though he was born to fight and perfectly happy with the idea of fighting Adversary forever, the only other time we’ve ever seen him truly at peace was The Wild, where he lays down his arms and willingly wants to be one with her. And then this route is another one that involves the Princess going inside of us in a very bizarrely intimate way. On top of that, the Tower being a very surprising route for me because she only ever seemed truly interested in the Long Quiet beyond allowing him to be “a priest or a pet” was when he was resisting her and trying to fight back, whether in Tower (before he actually makes her bleed and everything goes wrong) or in Apotheosis, where she seemed genuinely curious about what he was going to do if he tried to stop her.
Like…the update announcement said there was going to be a “new ending.” Is it going to be a character-specific ending like Stranger, where her route left such a massive loose end that she needed to have her own ending to give her and Contrarian’s story closure? Are we going to get that but with Fury and Stubborn? I mean, we can’t have a story about the breaking of cycles that possibly involves poor Stubborn having his own existential crisis and then leave both him and Fury hanging, can we?

So, if a simple reboot, forms Eclipse, would he be the default personality? Sun and the Mimic knew about this, since Sun was begging for a reboot and the Mimic was whispering to Cassie to "fix them." Sun even implies that Eclipse makes him and Moon "whole."
Even if Eclipse wasn't intentionally created by the engineers, who were focusing on a Jekyll-Hyde dynamic, Eclipse could have been an off-chance third personality formed due to a glitch. Afterall, in Balloon World, running into a glitch is how a sprite called "Eclipse" appears.
Either way, it makes sense to infer that Eclipse might have always existed somewhere but was never triggered to come out. By the Frosty the Snowman reference of his first words being, "Happy birthday!" It's clear this is his first time being "alive" or "re-alived" after being gone. (In the movies when Frosty came alive for the first time he said "Happy birthday." As in, HIS birthday. He also did this whenever he'd come to life again after a melting incident.)
So, Sun and Moon were created way before the Pizzaplex. The books (I know, I need to take their statements with a grain of salt when it comes to lining up with game canon) hint they are OLD and came from an old theater. (Also, the current one in the 'plex seems pretty much abandoned, but they could have been salvaged from a different one elsewhere). The books also state S&M weren't reprogrammed for their new purpose as Daycare Attendants, so, they had to learn childcare on their own. But it also means their code was never updated, so, there was no tampering that could have resulted in a third personality.
He reminds me a lot of Sun, being a doting caretaker, but lacks individuality and defaulting to pre-programmed scripts and habits ("Have a faz-erific day!"). I've heard theories that Eclipse is more of the name for Sun and Moon's "safe mode" rather than a unique AI like they are. But I like to think he is, he's just not been active enough to learn and grow and branch away from default programming and become an individual. I think he's a little like a Steven Universe fusion: an individual but the two beings that form them are still in there and share their experiences as one (which is why I like fan interpretations of him with 4 arms best, it's SU fusion logic. Also, if you look straight at Sun and Moon's statues outside the Daycare, Sun's arms are up and Moon's are down, lining up to appear as if they were coming from the same torso). Also, he reminds me of Dusk form lycanroc, rare and the middle ground between day and night.
Would a reboot also have freed Sun and Moon from any potential virus from the Mimic influencing them to be slightly homicidal? Supposedly Moon is "more" affected than Sun but given the heart breaking song he sings in Ruin about there being no more playtime, laughter or arts n' crafts, he LOVED the kids and it was possibly strong enough to overcome any program telling him to cause harm ('cause love is the strongest thing in the world! 🥰).
But then why would the Mimic want them rebooted? Perhaps it couldn't affect Sun after all and awakening Eclipse and making them whole, was the only way to ensure it can infect all of them entirely.

A Personal (Fan Danganronpa) Project

Hello !
I'd like to share a bit about a personal passion project of mine which I've been working on for about ~6 months now.
I've played around with writing a fan Danganronpa project going back as far as 2021 and it's always been something I've been rather determined to complete. Unfortunately I have the habit of rushing headfirst into creative projects without much forethought or discretion and as such all my past attempts have been passionate but intensely disordered and ultimately not conducive to long-term progress.
They were not bad because of this but they weren't projects which ever even made it past concepting and as such I'm not sure I'd call them particularly effective. ^^'
In this regard I've improved significantly. My current project, Spring Promise, is a six chapter Fanganronpa which is currently fully outlined. I am ~30,000 words into the first chapter and I have a release schedule for the full work decided upon for when production is complete.
In the interest of avoiding past mistakes I'm going to remain vague regarding details of what I do or not plan to do but there is still some aspects I'd like to push myself into being comfortable with sharing with an audience prior to release !
The intent of this post is mainly that but also I am looking for any tips or advice regarding advertising for proofreaders or early readers, something I've had difficulty with in the last. I am not a very firm person which I believe somewhat damages my ability to reach out for help when needed.
Also, while I have created a Tumblr for the project, I do not know how to use Tumblr Themes on mobile. ⚰️ This has been an incredibly difficult process and any insight is greatly appreciated ahaha. I do not know what I am doing.
In any case, here is some art I can share for the Fangan at this time:

Please note that no art here is final and all design will change. I am not a professional character designer in any regard and while I do fully intend to complete the art for this project, that will be an uphill process.
Here are some past attempts I've made at sprite work to give some insight into my current progress in this area:

In regards to graphic design and UI, I believe I'm proficient and will have little difficulty completing those tasks.
At this point in time I am averaging ~4,000 words a day and plan to continue this progress until the first chapter rough draft is entirely complete.
I don't intend to share another update regarding the project until I am explicitly reaching out for help on the project but hopefully this was an insightful introduction into something I hold close to my heart !
When the time comes for me to be able to share and release this series with you I will be very happy and I look forward to it eagerly.

So just for any missing context of any sort, I copy pasted some scraps of notes about LUMEN :D idk I just felt like it. Warning it might be a lot of scrolling so umm beware!!

CHAPTER ∞: Our Will Be Done
Chapter 0 is an introduction to the main plot, as WC is really excited to see how the Life Series goes. Chapter ∞ is the very end.
Both take place in the Watcher Realm
Throughout all of Chapter 1 (AKA Third Life), the player solely plays as Grian. At the rare times in which he sleeps/is alone, the Watcher Child visits Grian, only confusing him further ("Get out of my head, please!")
After Grian jumps from the cliffside at the end of Third Life, the WC joins the Watchers again. At first, it seems like they're cheering that Grian won and that the Life Series were a success. But at the end of Chapter 1, after the celebrations, it is revealed that the WC doesn't approve of the Life Series as much as before Third Life.
The WC vowed to make sure the player they chose from their tarot cards would win. They plucked another card from the pile… "THE STAR".
Chapter 5, Secret Life, has the most Watchers moderating and controlling it because of what happened in April (The Lost Pages---Real Life's Malfunction)
Chapter 6, Wild Life, will be the LEAST controlled by the Watchers. This will be because of one of the two undecided reasons:
Option A: The Lifers (aka mainly Grian) broke the system and caused the Watcher Realm to malfunction
Option B: Same as Option A, but it was the Watcher Child who did it.
You can change the background plot as Watcher Child; for example, in Double Life, maybe Watcher Child causes Scar to realize that he's literally being cheated on and he goes to join the Broken Hearts Club!
The Watchers have many forms, but two that stand out are specifically:
Creature Form:
The Watcher takes up the form of a humanish creature, but it still looks alien. It has no face. The watchers' talking sprites will be represented via Eyes.
They will be differentiated by the shape/form of those eyes.
Pure Form:
Lovecraftian Cryptid. Never goes well for mortal eyes.
If you see it, you will probably go blind.
REAL LIFE'S PROMINENCE EXPLAINED:
Real Life would be a "failed experiment" of the watchers, hidden to the world and erased from all the memories of the lifers---all except Cleo.
See, while you're playing through the game, it'll be a free roam world whenever you're in the middle of a quest which requires you to go somewhere. Hidden (but also more out in the open) around the Secret Life map will be these torn out papers from an unnamed Watcher's journal, who was documenting how Real Life went. So the player is aware that these papers exist, the first one will be given to you, and you'll have a side quest to find the rest.
Once you collect all the papers, you go on to complete Secret Life (as Scar, since the Watcher Child is watching from his perspective, like how they do with all the other winners). When Secret Life is over, you'll be notified of an option in the MENU to play Real Life, aka The Lost Chapter. Real Life will have an old timey, brown worn down filter to it, as you will be playing through Cleo's Memory---the only other live proof that Real Life exists.
The reason that A. these papers are torn out from a journal and B. only Cleo remembers Real Life is because remember, Real Life was a failed experiment. (Remember how Real Life really only lasted one episode? That's why it was failed---it wasn't prolonged, and to the Watchers, it wasn't very entertaining, either)
The Watchers thought that the failure of Real Life was a clear weakness to their everlasting power, so they simply got all of the Lifers and removed their memories... but before they could end the series, Cleo had already won. The main and number one rule in The Life Series of Experiments (I literally just made that name up on the spot) is that all winners, no matter what, will remember the series they won. So they forgot that they couldn't erase Cleo's memory.
So, Cleo is not bound to the Watchers like the other Lifers are. And thus, she remembers.
