Heya! Hope you're doing well. This is a combo fic masterpost and "tags I use" sorta pinned post.

You can call me opti (she/her). I write a lot of fanfiction! My AO3 profile has all my fanfic at the moment. It's mostly BG3 fic now, and nearly all of it is femslash. Most with a focus on trans women. I want to see more people like me in fic! 💜

I primarily write Shadowheart/OC works with my Tav, Asheera. I do write other ships, but I have a bias for my beloved trans woman half-orc paladin.

Light Casts a Shadow is the "core" series for my Shadowheart/Asheera fics.

Blades in the Night is my ongoing longfic. It covers the immediate aftermath of BG3 as Shadowheart and Asheera deal with a group of Sharran assassins, an old enemy, and eventually (hopefully?) find their happily ever after.

Nightsongs is my completed modern/band AU. Shadowheart is in a metal band with a humanized Shar, featuring a modern version of Asheera who works as a mechanic.

ok but seriously, thank you all so much for all the support. i never really. expected to make it this far? like, ever?? i’ve mentioned it a few times on here, but i’ve been a lurker for the past… 2 years, i think? and even before that, i never gained much traction outside of a couple posts. so this has been. very new to me!! in a nice way!! it’s weird to feel like an actual member of a community!! that people know about!

the idea of finally coming back to social media was Daunting (i literally got stress hives writing my first post lol) and the warm reception really. meant a lot?? i don’t think i would’ve ever gotten the courage to come back if i hadn’t been encouraged to by the people over at the isat discord!!

the fact that people actually care about my art still doesn’t feel real?? seeing people take inspiration from my art is just. surreal. just. auagssh. thank you all so so much for everything, i really do appreciate it!!! i’m really glad to be in this community. sorry if this all sounds sappy and long winded i’ve just got a lot of emotions about this whole thing!!

hey everyone - i know there’s a lot going on in the world right now, a lot of causes that need support and visibility now more than ever.

i’d like to take an opportunity to highlight a cause that’s very literally close to home for me: i live very, very close to springfield, ohio. the haitian community there has always needed help and support but now, with white supremacist rhetoric and bold faced lies being circulated nationally, with threats of violence and heightened ignorance being more common than ever, they need it perhaps more than they ever have.

there has been a lot of hate since trump and his little bootlicker attack dog jd vance have started this shit, but there’s also been an outpouring of love and community outreach in the weeks since springfield was thrust into the worst kind of spotlight.

the hatian community support and help center has been invaluable in helping hatian refugees get what they need to start a new life here. they are headed by a team of haitian immigrants that are personally familiar with what their fellow immigrants need. they have been instrumental in keeping their community from falling through the cracks.

AI-generated fic in fandoms is so troubling and insidious. i've said it before and will say it again: generative AI should not be allowed to take root in fandom spaces, and especially not in one of the last hideouts for fandom creatives, which is here on tumblr and also on ao3.

maybe many of the new readers reading fic in the tags now i assume are young and excited to surround themselves with universes and stories. and if you're reading this, i want you to extend the same courtesy and good faith to you that elder internet forum folks had extended to me, so that i had time to digest and understand–

please understand that writing fanfic and creating any fanwork is something we do out of passion, care, and necessity. making things takes time. executing creative ideas takes time. it requires an extraordinary level of energy. creative work is the process.

it’s not something that is typically done in hours, even days. and it's often something people are doing outside of other commitments and pressures. it is, first and foremost, a labour of love.

fanfic is not written by a machine that endlessly reflects and echoes people's work until it is unrecognisable anymore. fanfic is written by people who are dreaming and have an idea they want to sketch out. or just because they want to enjoy something with no guilt in this late capitalistic hellscape.

because fandom is one of the last online third spaces we have left.

i don't know how many more times i have to explain that the companies behind genAI do not have your best interests at heart. profit is their motive. reducing the value of art in the world for the sake of "efficiency" is their motive. because they do not care. they do not believe art needs a heart. they do not believe art needs YOUR heart, or rather they are happy to take the work that comes from your heart and use it to feed their bottom lines. companies like this crawl the works of millions of others (including ao3 recently btw, unauthorised), and use the works of those who bothered to do it the hard way first, only to spit a strange, reanimated, soulless thing out of it.

they believe art can be flattened and endlessly regurgitated. they believe originality can be replicated and that they can cut human impulse and joy out of the equation.

do not feed into this.

do not use gen AI to write fics.

do not support people that do so, and give them any legitimacy.

because joy is what fandom is about.

fandom was born out of a desire to imagine beyond, to colour outside the lines, and by nature is meant to be a space for people to cultivate enjoyment.

you do not cultivate enjoyment by getting a machine to write the story for you and by sublimating your desire to the machine.

you get community by sharing the thing you love with people and ideating it with people and staring endlessly at your blinking cursor sometimes even if it hurts, even if it feels like pulling teeth with dental floss, and even if it takes you 100000x longer – because trust me, people will respect you and your writing far more. because you tried. because IT IS YOURS.

writing (or any form of making) is a distillation of something only you can say to the world in your own way. and yes fanfic is a legitimate expression of such work, because otherwise why would so many people have been moved by the stories or art and talked about them and remembered them?

and if you really don't see a fic out there that fits what you want - then maybe it's time that you tried to tell it for yourself. you're capable. you have something you want to say. you have the capacity to imagine.

so do what writers have done for centuries: believe.

"no, no, sweetheart. don't worry, i'll take care of you." before you could respond, bruce picks you up and over his shoulder. you yelp, you try to call out for alfred, but a hard smack on your butt silences you. "good girl."

bruce doesn't take you far, only moving to his bedroom. he delicately lays you on his bed and you sit up, watching him carefully unbutton his shirt. "let daddy take care you, angel..." soon, bruce was only in his boxers, undressing you against your will. his hands were calloused and gentle. you couldn't help, but be soothed by your adoptive father's touch.

"bruce..." he gently presses your shoulder, forcing you down, "why... why are you-" he brings your legs over his shoulders and you choke on your words when you feel bruce press his mouth to your core, tenderly licking at your heat. "w-wait-"

"i'm sorry, angel, i promise i'll take good care of you..." his hands grip your thighs and you arch your back, feeling his burning tongue against your cunt. you bite down on his sheets to muffle your moans. you feel your stomach twisting and your holes twitching, aching for more. he drinks you, pressing himself against you like a man starved for water. your head swims as his experienced tongue brought you closer.

While I do think using the four sword causes some bad physical/mental side effects, I ultimately think that the biggest drawback ends up being that none of Four’s colours ever do what he wants unless it’s a life or death situation. Four has a lot of work so he decides to spilt to get everything done on time. It does not go well.

Red and Blue both run on emotions so they immediately get distracted by whatever’s more interesting and leave. Red might eventually get back on track (if he remembers) but there’s still a 50/50 chance that he goes “oh but I don’t wanna do that now.. hope the others do it for me! <3”. Blue’s better at remembering but if the conditions for doing The Task are slightly Off it’s going to make him want to rip his own hair out so he just calls it quits. Green and Vio are more likely to actually get stuff done but the second someone asks Green for a favour he’s gone. He’ll end up spending the entire day running around delivering pastries or something cause people keep asking him for things and hes incapable of refusing. Vio will spend thirty minutes coming up with some sort of convoluted loophole to avoid The Task before disappearing into the woods for the next three days. He could’ve completed The Task in those same thirty minutes but he just didn’t feel like doing it in the moment. Four eventually reforms and literally nothing had been done. The real reason he keeps the four sword a secret from the chain is because he’s embarrassed about the fact that all the colours are literally so fucking stupid on their own
