Do you have any opinions on Batman vs Moon Knight? Not who would win in a fight because that's lame and boring, but how they compare as characters.
I'mma hit you up in a different way you weren't expecting. Because this has been sitting on my DC hidden knowledge shelf for YEARS.
(I'll get back to your original question in a bit, promise).
Let me tell you about DC's answer to Moon Knight: Ragman!
Tumblr media
He really isn't a direct parody… as far as I'm aware….But it's REALLY suspicious.
Tumblr media
He was created in 1976 by Robert Kanigher and artist Joe Kubert.
(Moon Knight first appeared in 1975 in Werewolf by Night #32.)
And Marvel and DC did these sort of 'coincidences' quite often. They'd create one character with specific traits and then the other publisher would suddenly ALSO have a new character with the same traits. They were always juuuuust different enough to not raise TOO many eyebrows.
Now, Ragman was originally an Irish character that got revised to being a Jewish character and was later connected to the Golem of Prague figure from folklore in 1991.
Ragman's suite is quite… colorful… and is actually made up of MANY different souls, which leads him to often get involved in supernatural and mystical sorts of threats. The suit will collect new souls and often pits Ragman against his suit to prevent it from just….sucking in new ones.
Now, back in the original time line, Ragman was a Vietnam vet and his suit origins changed a few times. Either way, when his suit gets a new soul, he grains their experience and abilities. Things changed again in 2017.
He's an interesting character and an interesting ability with his suit and such. Plus, he was another Jewish character in a time when this wasn't very common!
Now, unlike Moon Knight, Ragman was never a super popular character. He has persisted and they even put him in the Green Arrow show once. I think it's a case of them not settling on a solid background and then not knowing what to do with him. A similar thing could have happened to Moon Knight…. and almost did… when Marvel just couldn't decide what to do with him.
Then there was a huge thing back in the day about people complaining that Moon Knight was just a Batman rip off.
There probably still are people out there and memes where Batman and Moon Knight are compared. But honestly, it's just the friggen cape. I mean, SO MANY characters back in the day all looked the same! Menacing shadow in the dark that punches bad guys.
Now, Ragman does still pop up in things now and then. He shows up in big events and things… But I'd be surprised if a lot of people are aware of him.
Some people have also equated Ragman to having a sort of DID as well. The rational is that his suit speaks to him and he can connect to the souls trapped inside. It's not DID. But people looking to make him the DC Moon Knight push it.
He dropped off my radar over the years and I don't know what his current heritage or backstory is since the New 52 DC reboot. If anyone knows, please feel free to chip in.
I do appreciate that DC still throws him into things now and then and have refused to let him fall into obscurity, but maybe if they gave him more of a solid story and a good writer, he could really be something more.
So back to your original question. I've always loved Batman. He was my original comics love from when I was a wee kid.
A LOT of people still complain that Moon Knight is too much like Batman. And I think these people need to actually read the friggin comics for both Moon Knight AND Batman because it's so stupid to think one is like the other.
Sure, both have trauma, but man did they go about it in different ways.
I think they would respect one another if they ever did meet, though Marc is notorious for not exactly getting along well with superheros when he first meets them... (Every single time they get into a fight. Oddly enough the one time he didn't get into a fight was when he met the Punisher and they were instantly BFF.)
The thing is, Batman is a VERY interesting characters....when he has the right writer. And the same goes for Moon Knight. But Moon Knight always holds his personal issues at the front of his story. Batman holds his mask at the front of his story. You always see what Batman wants you to see, where Moon Knight has no ability what so ever to keep the mask in place. (Ironic because now he won't take the mask off and his problems have never been more front and center).
For me, the best Batman stories are when the mask slips and you see the parts of Batman that he doesn't want you to see. When the story hits you the hardest, it's a story that you remember and stays with you.
When it comes to Moon Knight, because you always see under the mask and see the issues they are dealing with, it tends to be the characters around Moon Knight that stick with you.
It is hard to compare them as characters, because they are so different, but perhaps it is the differences that defines them.
When Marc has a break down, it's public and open and honest. He builds himself up and breaks down so often. He's in a constant struggle with self identity, regret, trauma, and the past.
You don't get to see Bruce break down. But you are deeply aware of his trauma. Occasionally you get the struggle with identity, but it's more about his failure to let go of the past that rules his life.
Marc's pain is so public, and Bruce's pain isn't. But everyone KNOWS Bruce's pain. The intense loss of his parents, his childhood, and eventually his everything as he gave up his life for the cowl. They wear their capes for different reasons, but both are compelled to do it. They find their meaning in what they do.
I'm sure someone smarter than me could write a thesis on these two.

Thought that Tumblr might enjoy this random vampire lore a couple Instagram users and I came up with.

Is a scorched vampire hot enough to make glass?
663shellsalad
I wonder if vampire glass would have special properties, or resale value or watever.
Reply to 663shellsalad. I like this world building question. The hardest part is knowing the difference between cursed vampire glass and regular glass. Would there be Ea Nasir levels of scams?
lucaskkehl
To cremate a body you need temperatures of around 1400°C, and to make glass you need temperatures of around 1600°C, so it's actually not that far of! There will be probably some bits of glass around the vampires, so if you are careful enough to shift through the sand to get those, you can probably reheat the bits to actually make something. I just don't know if the proprieties of vampire glass can be retained after heating it up again... and it's probably cursed from the begining so I also don't know a good use for it.
lilacs.and.stone
Would a vampire body have the same density as a human body? Is that relevant to the temperature needed? Maybe the opposite of holy water rules apply. One bit of normal glass reduces the cursed effects. So you'll need nice pure vampire pieces to get a neat amulet to curse other people. Or maybe water it down to just give them diarrhea or something.
lucaskkehl
I presume vampires are a bit more dry then normal humans, but i don't know about the density. I think most animals have the same density, but it probably wouldn't affect heat that much... but if you pile them up in one bunch, that's certain to make a bigger/hotter fire! The cursed amulet is a pretty good idea as well! Maybe vampire glass should be used more like a gem then actuall glass. If you can make a big enough piece of it, lapidate and polish it down you probably could make some pretty hefty "vampire-soul-infused" curses. And to water it down with a bit of extra normal glass melted over the top of it would give it enough flexibility to fit anyones cursed needs! That's a pretty cool concept. It would look rly nice if the cursed glass had a blood red tint to it too, glimering on the moon and greying on the sun! Ohh! The curses would probably be weaker during the day or exposed to the sun!
lilacs.and.stone
Meat Jerky vampires? Well depending with what lore you go with they're either Nosferatu or a condensed Hulk. I thought they'd have thicker skins or different muscle density. I love the idea of color changing glass. Imagine seeing your little trinket turn red during the sunset and knowing you're doomed. Having the curse loose power during the day sounds like a fair trade so it's not overkill. I'd be worried people would learn to not accept glass trinkets but considering how difficult it is to lure a vampire into sand... I guess it's not expected for just anyone to have that.

To expand on the previous post (with excellent addition by @kerosene-in-a-blender), I genuinely believe Laudna as a character would be a lot stronger in one of two scenarios:
1. Ditch the Whitestone stuff. I say this as someone who has produced almost nothing but de Rolo content—that is too big a part of Campaign 1 not to completely overshadow anything different the character tries to do in a long-form narrative. I think they could have threaded that needle, but that requires so much more focus and attention that a fast-paced story about a moon conspiracy just isn't built for. It's been 65 episodes and Whitestone nostalgia is all the character has meaningfully contributed to the narrative.
They put themselves between a rock and a hard place before the story even started. You can't bring in Delilah too often without inevitably treading on Campaign 1, but you also can't use her too little—not just because she's Delilah Briarwood, but also because that's the patron of a PC and your PCs need to be taking center stage. And yet there is nothing Delilah's presence has done in the story thus far that could not have been accomplished by a completely different, hitherto-unknown necromancer patron. Laudna's experiences in Whitestone could be replaced with a similarly traumatic backstory (it's not like Exandria is hurting for necromancers abusing power) and she'd have to actually elaborate on it and flesh out the worldbuilding and think about the backstory instead of being able to lean on "Hey, you guys remember that Briarwood arc? Freaky, right?"
2. Keep Laudna as she is and use her in an EXU miniseries. Set it in northwestern Tal'Dorei, where she's been wandering aimlessly for thirty years, spending half the time disassociating and half the time making her dolls. She meets a colorful group of people and they go on some adventures, and she finally decides to take back her life and do something about the voice in her head. You'd basically keep the Whitestone episodes of C3 as they are, give or take a few beats, as the climactic episodes of the series, and then the newly fire-forged friends set off for whatever new journey awaits them.
Maybe Laudna switches patrons; maybe she ditches the warlock thing entirely; maybe she ends the miniseries not knowing what she wants but excited to learn about it with her new companions. Mini-campaigns don't have to worry about that kind of thing! You can have your Whitestone nostalgia and some fanservice while still telling a pretty fun story, and it won't feel like a weird extra appendage to a main campaign that otherwise has very little to do with it. I wouldn't say it's a story I'd be interested in seeing continue, but it's perfectly serviceable for something small and self-contained.
What it has not been serviceable for is the long-form story of Campaign 3.
Honestly, I was a little concerned about all of this even before I started watching all the way through, but I wanted to give it time and judge it for myself. I don't believe in unfounded doomsaying, and I wanted to give the show a chance to do something interesting. And it has been 65 episodes, over 260 hours of content, which I think puts us well past the window of "give it a chance", and Laudna has spent the vast majority of her time not meaningfully engaging with her levels of warlock if it doesn't contribute to creepy girl vibes. (She frankly isn't engaging with her levels in sorcerer, either.) She's never even addressed potentially finding a new patron—so does she not want to? But then why is she so distressed about the idea of Delilah resurfacing? And if she does want a new patron, why has nothing actually happened in the almost-thirty episodes we've had since the Whitestone trip? If she's been "fighting Delilah for thirty-odd years", why didn't she take the chance to explicitly try to connect with, say, the Sun Tree? Or literally anyone else?
And honestly, as a Campaign 1 fan I have to say I'm also frustrated at how Delilah's presence specifically undercuts that story. Like, yeah, you have a technical reason for why she's still here, but "well she IS a powerful necromancer" is just a mechanical explanation, not a dramaturgical one. Her story is done. The chapter closed. She had ample opportunity, including when specifically asked by the Hells, to state any specific goals—any at all—and didn't. This is the woman who menaced Percy and Vex? This is the woman who permanently killed Vax? ...Really?
It could have been an interesting challenge to take on in referencing something from the past while bringing something new to the table, and it's not like they haven't done that before; they've already shown with Jester and the Traveler that it can be done. But they haven't done it here; any opportunity for Laudna to grow beyond her vague concepts—"What if Sun Tree Body...with Delilah patron? What if weird scary girl...but happy?"—has been generally ignored. Her killing Bor'dor is the first time in the entire campaign that she's done something that really got my attention, and in two episodes it's almost immediately papered over, followed by some inexplicable "must you continue to reconquer?" word salad about the gods.
Marisha explicitly refused to create a new character until she knew for sure whether or not Laudna would be resurrected. But if she enjoys her so much, when is she going to do anything meaningful with her?

DND OCs I'll never get to play: Nyssos, spirit of the sea 🌊🐚🦀
Name: Nyssos (Any pronouns)
Race: Triton / Seafoam Spirit
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Class: Druid (Circle of the Moon)
Background: Outlander
At first glance, Nyssos isn't particularly abnormal for a triton. Standing at a height around 5 and a half feet with sea blue skin and webbed hands and feet, they're almost perfectly average. Even the long, curly hair the color of seaweed that cascades down their face and obscures their eyes isn't too out of place, nor is the well-worn shawl on their back, weathered by the waves and winds that adorn it. One thing would be off about them though, if anyone could see it. Hidden beneath their tangled green locks are a pair of eyes that sparkle with a silver so brilliant they could only belong to a shapeshifter or a fae. The thing is, Nyssos has a secret. With a snap of their fingers and a burst of sea foam, Nyssos can transform into a whole bestiary of marine creatures, from a crab, a seagull, a shark, a colossal squid, up to even an elemental of pure water. To distinguish them in their myriad of forms their biology somehow always incorporates the wave pattern on their cloak, and their eyes are always of shimmering sliver. Despite this no one seems to have ever seen Nyssos' true form, to the point where those who know them best assume that they have none.
Nyssos is in reality something which I'd call a Seafoam spirit, a type of slightly mischievous fae from the ocean who dedicate their lives to protecting the oceans and their denizens, from flora and fauna to sailors and their crews. Thanks to their innate ability to shapeshift at will they'd be able to seamlessly patrol the waves, getting up to all sorts of shenanigans while still keeping a watchful eye on the sea and those who inhabit it. While most Seafoam spirits lack a primary form that they use all the time, Nyssos' triton body is used to pay homage to an old lover of theirs who they were unable to protect from the pirate raid that would lead to her untimely death. As a constant reminder for both their love for her but also their inability to save her, Nyssos has taken her form for what may well be over a century now, though their actual age is unknown to anyone but Nyssos themselves (though I do like to think they've been patrolling the seas for so long now that they're incapable of remembering their exact age).
Thanks to their true nature as a fae, Nyssos has a profound connection to the seas and their inherent magical forces, having abilities that often reflect those of Druids known for revering the waves, such as:
As mentioned before they have the ability to shapeshift into a slew of different animals and monsters, though they are all connected to the ocean in some shape or form
Limited aerokinesis and hydrokinesis, bending and shaping the winds and waves around them to their will
The ability to emit a shriek comparable to a whale's sonar, which allows them to send out messages that various forms of marine life can comprehend
I know this is the second seafaring Dungeons and Dragons OC I post on here (the first being Captain Tyrren Bilgeborn), but the sea and all the things that surround it are such a massive source of inspiration to me, plus I had to make a character to represent my second favorite DND class (#1 being Warlocks unsurprisingly). I hope you all like Nyssos, and if you want to make any comments or ask any questions, I'd been more than happy to hear them. Anyways, EggOfLore, signing off!

Walk Into My Mystery Part 11
Tumblr media
Build Up
Hope shops blanket fort materials. Patterned sheets, various pillows, sleep mat and extra blankets. Don't forget fairy lights! She also picks up a tourist book about Yucca Valley and Skittles for a treat.
When she unpacks everything, Shadow pieces together her idea. "I had a feeling you'd like a blanket fort," Hope replies. "Do you like the star sheets? This one's a bit cutesy, but the other has accurate constellations. Either way, you have night sky. Oh, and these fairy lights? They have a little remote so you can change colors."
Shadow's moved. "I love it," he says steadily. His eyes water a little. Hope wasn't expecting that.
They construct it together. Actually, they take it apart a couple times for different shapes until satisfied. Hope moves two small bookshelves, so he has a mini library. Shadow's intrigued by the tourist book.
He tries Skittles for the first time. (Released 5 years after his imprisonment.) They're fine though he wonders if they still make Bottle Caps and Zotz. Bottle Caps, yes. Zotz? Never heard of it. Hope does google search. She's baffled they're from 1970! She also finds that Bottle Caps are from 1972.
"No. No way. He can't be that old," she thinks. "Unless he's a time traveler."
Weird how this candy question finally breaks her wondering. Almost 3 months! Mysterious, ageless hedgehog appears with hardly a hint of his life except for sadness just asked about 54 year old food. Will he please talk, or does she have to bring it up first? Maybe she should.
"So...Shadow, I looked up Bottle Caps and Zotz. They're pretty old. I mean over 50 years old." He raises an eyebrow at her. "Some may not think that's a long time, but I'm 23 and that seems old to me. 50 years might as well be time of dinosaurs or the ice age." Hope should stick to mechanics, not comedy.
It couldn't be any more awkward. Not even a cricket chirp would help. "If you want to know about me you could just ask," Shadow replies firmly and arms crossed. Unintentionally, this comes off like a challenge. Yeah. Go ahead and ask. Do it if you dare.
Hope glares back and keeps her tone steady. "Shadow, it's not always easy to ask you things. I don't want to step over boundaries. Remember when I came back that one time with food and you snapped you wanted to be alone? I did and then you crossed my path looking like you were having a breakdown. I don't want trigger your emotions."
"But then," she continues and paces about the room, "I notice points where you seem sad. Not just that: grieving." Shadow flinches and looks down. "You said you don't know where you belong. I'd like to know where, how or if you belonged. Then you tell the cops earth is your home, and you protect it! I could piece something together, but I'm not sure." She's growing agitated.
"Seriously! You just came out of nowhere right after a laser spaceship exploded and the moon was sliced! I find your inhibitor ring in the desert and I still don't know what it's for! Are you the only survivor of space creatures that were killed from the explosion? Are you hiding from the government? I want to help you, but I don't know how because you're a mystery! And yeah! I'm one to talk because I don't reveal much about myself until I completely trust someone." She sits in her desk chair and inhales. She didn't mean to accuse.
"I'm not mad at you Shadow. I don't blame you for being private. I just..." Maybe she needs to tell her story for him to understand? "I've gone through loss myself and I can tell something hurt you: hurt you very deeply. I needed to communicate my pain losing my parents and all my grandparents. Even my old cat. Only then, was anyone able to help. No matter what you've experienced, I wish I knew how to support you." A long tension filled pause. She must've gone too far.
"I do trust you," Shadow finally answers. "You've supported me more than you could imagine. As much as I want to, I can't bring up my history. It's too much." Sorrow, exhaustion and age in his tone.
"Too much to tell all at once or never?" Hope inquires.
"All at once." 💔
"Could you tell me a little at a time? Just enough for me for to understand?" She lets the offer hang for him to grasp. Please let him take it.

Cálei Daedala
@anneapocalypse tagged me to tl;dr and who am i to say no, frankly. not tagging today but take if you like!
Tumblr media
B A S I C S

Age: Roughly 27-28 at start of ARR, around 32-33 by end of EW
Nameday: 25th Sun of the Fourth Astral Moon (July 25)
Race: Seeker of the Sun Miqo'te + Midlander Hyur
Gender: Male
Orientation: Bisexual
Profession: Warrior of Light, adventurer, crafter
Tumblr media
P H Y S I C A L     A S P E C T S
Hair: Orange with gold highlights (but mostly just Orange)
Eyes: In game, his left eye is gray and his right eye is red. In fic I usually say he has burgundy eyes.
Skin: Tan.
Tattoos/scars: Blue clan marks by his eyes and Miqo'te facial marks. Various scars over his body from years of combat.
Tumblr media
F A M I L Y
Parents: Unnamed Miqo'te Seeker mother and Hyur father. For most of his life Cálei has no idea he's half-Hyur.
Siblings: Biological siblings include a younger sister, On'téani. Adoptive sibling is Melos Orphne, his brother.
Grandparents: Cálei has no knowledge of his extended family, as he comes from an offshoot Seeker clan that tried to strike out on its own and failed miserably.
In-laws and Other: Post-EW Cálei gets married to G'raha Tia. I leave this section blank in case canon ever gives us G'raha's family. Otherwise, Cálei's adoptive family lives in Limsa Lominsa.
Pets: An unnamed amaro hatchling he brought back from the First.
Tumblr media
S K I L L S
Abilities: A mage who dabbles in dark magic. Cálei had a roundabout way of finding his preferred disciplines, but by EW he's established himself as a skilled red mage and white mage, both of which he's studied extensively. He also occasionally takes up his greatsword as a dark knight, and post-EW is spending a lot more time practicing with it. His preference is to hang back and focus on spellcasting, but when push comes to shove he's in the front lines taking down whatever he needs to.
Hobbies: Cálei loves to cook and will cook for anyone at the drop of a hat. He will happily spend hours upon hours hammering ingots or sawing lumber as he works on a crafting project. He loves gardening and taking care of plants. He will spar with anyone who even thinks of offering. Idleness sits uncomfortably on him; he'd rather be going out and helping someone than taking his ease.
Tumblr media
T R A I T S
Most Positive Trait: Cálei is ferociously loyal and will fight to the ends of the world to protect the people he cares about.
Most Negative Trait: Cálei is as stubborn as a mule and does not easily change his ways. This is a good trait when it comes to having to fight unstoppable foes, but not so good when he won't bend on the little things.
L I K E S
Colors: Whatever doesn't clash on him. It's very hard to be orange. Favors blues and greens in particular.
Smells: Fresh cut flowers, bread right out of the oven, pretty much anything sizzling on a stove
Textures: Clean sheets, smooth metal of a blade, familiar clothes, his own tail
Drinks: Water. Occasionally a nice lemonade.
Tumblr media
O T H E R    D E T A I L S
Smokes: Nah.
Drinks: Almost never. He drank a lot in the beginning of Heavensward and it reminds him too much of that time.
Drugs: Nope.
Mount Issuance: He has never named his chocobo. (He's bad at names.) I'd love to say that he actually uses the mounts I typically use in game but I have a hard time justifying where he got an Astrope, much less his Centurio tiger...
Been Arrested: Nope.

Furbies I Would Love to Have One Day:
(Or: My favorite furbies I found while browsing ebay and the furby wiki)
(images mostly from the first search engine results & the furby wiki)
1: A jester furby!
Tumblr media
I mean, come on... They are oh so adorable!! The checker pattern, the pompoms, the magenta feet...But unfortunately I don't think I'll ever be able to have one since they're so ridiculously expensive 😔 Whilst getting a picture for this post I saw one going for over $600
2: Slightly more attainable, the Valentine's day Furby!
Tumblr media
I lovveeee Valentine's Day themed stuff (despite likely being arospec but cough cough we dont need to talk about that.)
I also just really love pink . Look at this cutie pie!! I love the brown eyes on it since it's like chocolate... The green looks really good too! Green + pink my favorite color scheme ever...
3: The Flamingo Furby!
Tumblr media
Once again . pink. I chose this image because it looks like it's scheming.... Wonderful beast. Another one that's marvelous with every eye color . 10/10 creature I love these things !!
4: The autumn/witch Furby!
Tumblr media
The little hat??? Is so cute ??? Just . Adorable I love it so much. I prefer winter and spring(we're getting to spring wink wink) as seasons, but autumn does have some pretty impeccable vibes . Especially on a furby.
5: Angel furby!
Tumblr media
This probably should have been higher on the list next to the jester bc i was like. Vaguely organizing them from like. Most expensive/hard to get to easiest but i forgot 🙏
Anyways if you know me atall you know that I. Love. Angels. To a concerning degree. And the purple eyes ? Best design choice ever ?? Looks fantastic?? Really otherworldly while still being cute. Obsessed.
6: Spring time furby! (Baby or adult)
Tumblr media
The light purple is just so nice... It reminds me of the lilacs that bloom in a bunch of different shades of purple at my grandparents' house during the spring, which makes it extra sweet looking to me! It's kind of confusing with the baby version that apparently wasn't special addition- but yaknow what it's cute so it's ok.
7: Lime Green Baby!
Tumblr media
I cannot express to you how much I love this cutie... little keylime pie lookin ass. Adorable. Also green is my favorite color so-
8: Sunny Baby!!
Tumblr media
Look at how delightful this creature is! This is the one I'm most likely getting soonish- I absolutely adore the sunny babies! They are just one of the cutest things on beautiful planet earth to me. I'm so dedicated to getting one of these sweethearts once I move I already have a list of name ideas... (Any suggestions would be welcome!)
Before I move on to the last two furbs, here are some honorable mentions:
Confetti, Clown, Primary, Mint Green, Red wolf, and wizard.
9: Strawberry Milk furby!
Tumblr media
Honestly I'd be happy with any of the 2005 furbies (the adult ones, not the babies... those were the only actually scary furbies lmao). They're all pretty pricey, but I think someday I'll be able to find at least one- I'd be satisfied with that. Also i really like this one specifically bc it reminds me of vanilla ice cream with red velvet chunks in it.
10: Funky Purple Furby!
Tumblr media
Last but definitely not least!
Again- I'd be happy with any of the '05 furbs, but something about the green and purple here is so charming to me . This will probably stay a dream though, since the funky ones are even more expensive than the regular ones.
And that's all of my dream furbies!! It was mostly just an excuse to talk about the ones I like, i doubt I'll ever get my hands on most of them- but I had a lot of fun making this!
Anyway if anyone ever wants to talk about furbies or show off theirs you are absolutely more than welcome to dm me I will be over the moon!!
🩷 have a lovely day/night !!

hi, everyone! 🥰 i'd like to give everyone an update on kian. these changes won't affect any of his active plots right now (as far as i'm aware), but i thought it should be known that, as an astrology nerd, i've been toying around with different charts to freshen him up a bit, and i landed on one that now makes his date of birth 20050305 (march 5th, 2005)! he's now nineteen years old, but most things in his life are still the same. the only real adjustments are that of personality and growth, and even those are somewhat minimal. below the cut, i'll reintroduce you to him, and if you're interested in plotting with him, give this a like and i'll dm you! 💛
at present...
kian's still a trainee at lime entertainment, and he's really nervous about the chance of debuting given the rumors that have been going around the company. all eyes are on lime entertainment, and while he thinks he's worked hard to improve his vocal skills and musicianship, he has no control over whether he makes the cut or not. in his personal life, he's been writing a lot of music, he's newly single, and has mostly been keeping to himself, but he's ready to stop being a loner. he's just inspired, and he hyper-focuses on his passions all the time; he's very obsessed.

the change of birthdate was an opportunity for me to freshen him up, while still keeping him true to himself. here are ways these new influences affect him. oh, and for anyone interested, his updated natal chart is: pisces sun, sagittarius moon, aquarius rising, pisces mercury, pisces venus, & capricorn mars. kian has always felt otherworldly. i've always joked that he's actually an alien from outer-space who crash-landed on earth and is trying to get with the life and times that the earthlings have going on, but somehow can't seem to adjust. his mind is so fanciful, so full of dreams, and romance, and music, and magic, and genuine wonder that he can find beauty, and love, in literally anything. anything. he falls in love every single day, and not always with people. it can be with a song he's never heard before, or a new dessert he's never tried, or a new color that he accidentally created while mixing paints. he's so awestruck by everything that it gives him a certain childishness, much to his chagrin, as he hates being treated like a toddler, but it's only in that he's so, so intrigued by learning new things, and he thinks people can be so cool, and so impressive. there's a naïveté about him that's a blessing, and a curse. this naïveté often keeps him blissfully ignorant to the evils of the world around him, but whenever he gets glimpses of it, it takes him by storm. he gets so hurt by injustices and cruel realities that it often brings him to tears, so he chooses to remain in the dreamy galactic world he's created in his mind. escapism is how he copes most of the time, and music is often the key to this world he runs away to. it's his first love, after all. he chases it everywhere. there's something about the way he writes his songs, too, that give them a very raw, relatable quality. he's a poet, a storyteller, and the emotion woven into each line can be felt so deeply, especially when he sings songs himself. he tries to connect emotionally with everything he performs, believing that the best type of music is the kind that moves your soul. his mom's always told him that his voice is exceptionally special, that its strong enough to change the world if he uses it well, and though the thought of that is daunting, he does wonder if she's right; wonders if he can genuinely affect people in that way. unsure still, he's adamant on working hard to improve his vocals and his musicality. he never, ever wants to stop learning, and he nerds out over discovering anything he's never heard before. if you're also a songwriter, he adores getting to know other people's creative processes. if you're into music, there's a high chance that he wants to talk to you about it. obsessively. he's also not someone who spends a lot of time connected to the online world. he much prefers finding trees to climb, or spending hours at a time writing a song, or visiting his parents and siblings, or doing things that feel more enriching. he's young, but he frankly has no idea what's going on most of the time. like many pisces, he oscillates between 8 and 80 years old. i don't know. i think he's super cool.
plotlines
i would loOoOoOoOve new plots and threads for him! he's been so shy and reclusive in the past, but this change of chart should make him a little more eager for human connections. 💛 here are some ideas below! * kian's been a resident of seoul since birth, specifically the mapo district. his family owns a guitar repair shop where they also sell instruments, collectible vinyl records, and other music related supplies. if your muse is from the area, or into music, you may know of the shop/his family! current or former employees, frequent patrons, etc. are welcome as connections, too! * he's a hopeless romantic and falls in love every single day. he's newly single and keeping his options open. maybe your muse makes his heart flutter a little and he writes a song about them, even if it's just as simple as that and no feelings are involved. 💓 * i'd love some past classmates/friendships, too! he's a 2005 liner, so this may apply best to 2003-2004 liners, but older works too if we come up with a great backstory! * his brother, kim doan, is an idol, too! he's the main vocalist of a boy group along the lines of seventeen (mostly because i envision doan resembling seungkwan). maybe your muse is a fan and pursues a friendship with kian to try and get closer to doan? * honestly, i prefer brainstorming, so if you're interested in plotting and none of these sound interesting, i'd adore coming up with something together! 🥰

Albums That I Listened to in January 2024
Tumblr media
Last month, I made the first of what I plan to be a series of twelve posts where I share what albums I listened to in the month before then and what I thought about them.
Here are the twelve albums that I listened to this month:
Titanic Rising - Weyes Blood (2019)
When We Were That What Wept for the Sea - Colin Stetson (2023)
3D Country - Geese (2023)
Middle Cyclone - Neko Case (2009)
In Colour - Jamie xx (2015)
Atlanta Millionaires Club - Faye Webster (2019)
Color Me Country - Linda Martell (1970)
Madison - Sloppy Jane (2021)
Marquee Moon - Television (1977)
Heaven or Las Vegas - Cocteau Twins (1990)
Fantasies - Metric (2009)
In My Own Time - Karen Dalton (1971)
Here's how I'd rank these albums:
Madison - I decided to give this album a listen purely out of curiosity because of how fascinated I was by the story behind how it got made. For those of you who are unaware, songwriter Haley Dahl and her band Sloppy Jane recorded this album in the Lost World Caverns in West Virginia over the course of two weeks, and for an album that was recorded in a literal cave, it's excellent. The orchestral, art pop compositions are absolutely beautiful, and Haley is a great lyricist whose ability to convey certain emotions and experiences with such visceral imagery and usage of symbolism throughout multiple tracks is something I admire and respect. Going into this album knowing that it was recorded in a cave adds to the atmosphere of the album, too. While listening, I couldn't help but imagine Haley and company playing these songs in a dark cavern in the middle of the night. I could go on about this album and how much I love it for pages, but I these posts are already kind of long as it stands, and I don't want it to be any longer. Definitely give it a listen, especially if you're as big of a Kate Bush fan as I am, because this has her influence all over it. 10/10
2. Middle Cyclone - Ever since I discovered her music last year before I started this personal challenge, Neko Case has quickly become one of my favorite artists and this album only further demonstrates to me why I've come to love her work so much. The way she blends together indie rock and country scratches an itch for me; and much like in her album preceding this one, Fox Confessor Brings the Flood, Middle Cyclone demonstrates Neko's incredible lyricism, particularly her ability to convey emotional rawness and human vulnerability in such a straightforward, yet eloquently profound way. Given that this is also what I would consider Neko Case's most accessible album, I would highly recommend anyone who hasn't already listened to her work to check this album out - especially if you're a fan of artists like Julien Baker, Lucy Dacus, or Adrienne Lenker who I think all owe a part of their sound and success to her. 8/10
3. In My Own Time - Karen Dalton is, in my opinion, one of the most underrated artists of the 60s and 70s and deserves more recognition than what she gets. Only the second album she ever released in her lifetime, there's something especially pleasant about her different covers of these songs (Yes, this is a covers album - Karen didn't really write or record original material). It makes me feel like I am sitting in a living room in a house on the countryside watching the snow fall in the winter or the leave rustling in the breeze in the summer. Not to mention that Karen has a beautiful alto voice. I actually like some of these covers better than their original versions. If you're looking for late sixties/early seventies folk music to listen to, I would recommend checking this album out. 9/10
4. Fantasies - Metric is a band that has been on my radar for a while now, but for some reason, I haven't gone out of my way to listen to any of their albums in full until now. All of the tracks go pretty hard, and I really like Emily Haines' voice. My favorite band Paramore cited Metric as an influence for their most recent album This Is Why, and I can definitely see where they were inspired. If any of you like Paramore or Yeah Yeah Yeahs, I would definitely give this album a listen. 7/10
5. Titanic Rising - This album sounds like walking through an antique store that is faintly playing old obscure 80s music on its loudspeakers as you gaze over the various items decorating each "room" in the store, the scent of vintage goods and old wood wafting through the air. Weyes Blood's voice reminds me of a cross between Eurhythmics' Annie Lennox and Enya, and the instrumentation and production on this album are stunningly beautiful. I was worried going into this album that I wouldn't be able to get into it because the tracks are all on the slower side in terms of tempo, but I actually found myself liking this one a lot. 9/10
6. Color Me Country - Linda Martell is an important figure in country music history who, despite her significance and the barriers she helped break down for black artists in the genre, has been oft forgotten. The first black artist in history to perform at the Grand Ole Opry, she only ever released one studio album - Color Me Country, in 1970. The album consists of pretty standard country music that was common at the time, with lyrical subject matter typical of the genre - but just because an album isn't sonically pushing the envelope, doesn't mean that it can't be good. I don't know what it was, but something lit up in me listening to this album and I really enjoyed what I heard. It makes me wonder what else she would have done had she continued her music career and released more material. Either way, this is a wonderful album from an incredible woman who deserves a lot more attention to her work. 7/10
7. 3D Country - This album sounds like a fusion between The Rolling Stones and Queen and I'm kind of living for it. It's genuinely good, fun, classic-styled rock music that doesn't take itself too seriously and has some really unique qualities to it. St. Elmo has been stuck in my head ever since I first heard it, and little embellishments like the harp on the title track really give this album its own personality. If you're somebody who primarily listens to older music who wants to try something newer or are just looking for more rock bands to get into, I recommend giving this album a try. 8/10
8. Atlanta Millionaires Club - Did you know that Faye Webster and I are the same age? I'm so used to artists either being older or younger than me that seeing someone around my age making music is both surprising and refreshing to me at the same time. This might be part of the reason why I clicked with this album a bit better than some of the other ones that I listened to this last month - Faye and I are in kind of the same place in life and due to us being the same age, and we probably share a similar perspective and experiences. It also helps that Faye is an adroit lyricist, and the chill indie rock instrumentation suits her voice well. The only issue that I have with this album is that the track Flowers near the end sounds jarring given how different it is from the rest of the album. 8/10
9. When We Were That What Wept for the Sea - This album gaslit me into thinking I have synesthesia. No really, I'm serious - I listened to this album while driving at night and I remember during the beginning of either Infliction or Passage I started smelling freshly brewed coffee. I didn't have any coffee in the car with me and I was not in an area where there would be any coffee brewing nearby. It was wild. And then after that it started smelling like the produce section of a grocery store in the beginning of the second half of the album. Anyways, this experimental ambient album by saxophonist Colin Stetson was really interesting to listen to and there are a lot of cool details scattered throughout each song. It wasn't what I was expecting at all, but it was a pleasant surprise. It would probably pair well with the flute album Andre 3000 put out last year. 8/10
10. Marquee Moon - This is a classic album that I see getting a ton of praise, so I figured I would give it a listen. It's a pretty good album, although the tracks sound a little bit samey at times. The two songs that stand out to me are Venus and the title track. 7/10
11. In Colour - The only solo album (As of right now) from The xx member Jamie xx makes for a fairly pleasant listening experience. Jamie seems to be veering slightly away from the indie rock elements of The xx's work and more into electronic and pop, incorporating some hip-hop influences along the way. The featured appearances all fit in nicely, and the album overall sounds like the chill cousin of Daft Punk's Homework. 8/10
12. Heaven or Las Vegas - Please don't take me ranking this album last as some indication that I don't like it. I actually enjoyed it - albeit think that it's overrated. The number of people that I have seen praising this album and talking about how great it is made me think that it was going to be some amazing, mind-altering experience to listen to, but it was really a series of (Super short) shoegaze-y pop tracks that are just good. I don't really get why people hype up Cocteau Twins so much. You would think that they invented sliced bread with the way some people talk about them. 7/10
So far, I've really been enjoying most of the albums that I listen to. I have a few albums in mind that I plan to listen to in full in February, but again, if anyone wants to recommend me anything, you are always welcome to leave a comment. :)

Have you bothered to think of the future lately? I mean, it kinda comes up in some way or another. However, unless it involves something upcoming I'm looking forward to, I really try not to dwell on the future. It terrifies me.
Would you rather have stars in the sky or the moon? I love seeing them all over the sky.
If you could choose your phone number, what would it be? *shrug*
Would you rather be somewhere familiar or get lost? Uh, I'd rather not get lost.
Are you afraid of what you do not know? The unknown is scary. That's why the future terrifies me. That's why just the thought of space and deep water scares me. You get the idea.
Is there something you are always interested in? Yeah, lots of things. Like, I've always loved to read. Psychology has interested me long before I knew what it was. I've always been into TV shows and movies. I've always liked playing board games. Uhhh, yeah there's lots of things.
What did you last hear that made your jaw drop? I feel like it was something recently actually, but of course I can't think of it at the moment.
Do you have a question for anyone right now? Nah.
Is there something you always order when you go out to eat somewhere? My go-to and safe option for my picky, strange eating ass is chicken tenders.
When was the last time you felt like you were starving? My body is being dramatic and I kinda feel like that now, but that's cause my stomach knows my brother is bringing me Taco Bell soon lol. They finally brought back their rolled chicken tacos and I've been obsessed.
Would you ever dye your hair all the colors of the rainbow? No, that would be too much.
Do you miss childhood at all? Very much so. Take me backkkkk.
Do you like listening to music on speakers? Yeah. Honestly, I do that more than I use my earbuds.
Ever feel paranoid? Sometimes.
Do you like extra butter on your popcorn? >> if I'm gonna eat popcorn it has to be flavourful so... yeah <<< Exactly. Extra butter is a must. I like to add salt, too.
Would you rather have Junior Mints or Reeses? Reese's are my all time favorite. I was on a serious Reese's binge for several months and literally went through bags of them :X For the past month or so, though, my body finally needed a detox I guess cause I haven't been craving or wanting them lately. I hope my craving come back cause the shapes are back or the holidays and everyone knows those are the best. It's a scientific fact. lol. I'll just have to not overindulge so I don't get sick of them again.
Have you ever avoided going to the bathroom because you were busy? Yeah.
What is the longest shower or bath you have ever taken? My showers are at least 30 minutes, sometimes 45. Getting in is a struggle, but once I'm in it's hard to want to get out. I just like the hot water running over me, it's so relaxing.
When was the last time you were in physical pain? I'm always in some kind of physical pain. I have chronic back pain, so that's a given, but I have other pains that like to join the paty, too.
How many times have you broken a bone? A couple.
Do you own anything “designer?” I have some Coach jewelry.
Will you be attending any concerts in the next month? No, sadly. I'm bummed cause the Jonas Brothers played near me like a week ago and I wasn't able to go. I was obSESSED when I was a teenager and I kept up with them and their solo projects cause they'll always have a spot in my heart. The last time I went to a JB concert was well over a decade ago and it would have been nice to see them again. Actually, the last time I went to any concert was almost 15 years ago. :O I'm in need for a concert, damnit.
What have you been worried about lately? What I'm always worried about-- my health. I also have a friend who's been going through some shit.
Do you know how to swim? Nope.
Do you think you could go a week without sugar? >> well, no, it's an integral part of a lot of foods and I'm not at all into deprivation for deprivation's sake <<< Right, like it would be hard to not have any sugar at all. But if you mean could I go a week without have any desserts or something then... no, I'd rather not haha.
Would you be willing to go one day each week without meat? Yeah. I usually have a turkey sandwich and chicken in some form, but other than that I'm not a big meat eater and could easily go a day without it. I'd just eat mashed potatoes (I've been obsessed lately) a d cheese pizza.
Have you looked at any old photos of yourself lately? I came across some baby photos recently.
Do you use sunscreen during the summer? Only when I go to the beach and admittedly I'm the worst at reapplying it. I don't go anywhere, really, and if I do I',m not outdoors for a significant amount of time.
How many pairs of sunglasses do you own? Zero.
Are you a fast or slow reader? Fast.
Are you a short tempered person? No, but I do get frustrated and irritable easily.
Best thing you’ve found at a thrift store: I'm not a thrifter.
Would you survive if you were stranded in a strange city all by yourself? No.

The Alpha's Addiction - Chapter 30 - Part 1
Tumblr media
*Warning Adult Content*
Risk - Kao
"Moon Goddess, Koa," Morgan exclaims, pushing up from his seat.
"You should have smacked that little..."
"Morgan."
I look around, face coloring seeing those who have turned to look at us.
We're in a public setting, after all... one of the popular pack taverns.
I didn't have the chance to ask if it was the same one Morgan performed oral sex on Xavier outside of.
"Well, you really should have."
He sits back down with a huff.
"Acting all high and mighty like that. As if Cyrus would ever have eyes for anyone other than you," I sigh.
"I know, I know. But there's also the problem that everyone in this Pack is expecting Cyrus to take a Luna. They blame me and I really have no defense against it. Their judgement isn't totally unfounded..."
"Listen, your relationship with your mate isn't anyone's business... and definitely not that bratty pipsqueak's, for that matter," he rolls his eyes.
I laugh at his nickname for Beau, though his reassurance does little to quell the turmoil inside me.
To be honest, Beau's presence really, really bothers me.
I don't want him around Cyrus.
Around what is mine.
But being unable to accept the mate bond, do I even have a claim to Cyrus?
He's free to do whatever he pleases.
And while I don't think he's interested in Beau... a part of me doubts that I'm enough for him.
My subconscious seems to want to find all the reasons that Beau is better and I absolutely hate this... being made to feel so insecure.
I feel pathetic that one bitchy Omega is making me have these doubts.
It doesn't help that he's beautiful, either.
My brain relentlessly produces unwanted images of Beau in Cyrus's arms... of my Alpha looking at him the way he looks at me.
Of Cyrus showering him in the compliments that he gives me.
Even calling Beau 'My Moon.'
I get so angry at these imaginary scenarios I can barely take it.
My wolf hates it too, constantly at the mercy of rage-inducing thoughts.
His possessiveness over our mate is so intensified that he's anxious whenever Cyrus is not in our line of sight.
Even when we're with him, the uneasiness is present.
I know there's a solution.
But my mind isn't capable of considering all of that yet.
********
With Oliver dropped off at school, I head to the training field.
Cyrus is waiting for me, handsome as ever.
He's talking with Xavier, a slight sheen of sweat coating his face.
He's radiant in the sunlight and my wolf practically begs to let him bend us over right here and now.
The horny thoughts are becoming more and more relentless since the day he fingered me to orgasm over his desk and it's become almost unbearable.
Ignoring the arousal the sight of him creates between my thighs, I approach normally.
Xavier gives me a polite nod but his smiles and verbal greetings are reserved for Morgan only.
I don't know how my friend can't see how head over heels this Alpha is for him.
The Beta still denies any 'serious' factor to their relationship, claiming that Xavier has never actually expressed his feelings.
Which I guess is something I'd probably consider as well, seeing how insecure I've become when it comes to the man I'm interested in.
We start off with a demonstration that Xavier and Cyrus perform for me so I can properly comprehend the moves before I do them myself.
Cyrus shows me how to unhand my opponent of their weapon in this manner.
I try to keep focused on the lesson but all I can think about is that fucking Beau and what went on with Cyrus the other day.
The whole thing pisses me off...
"Koa, are you even listening?" Cyrus breaks me out of my daze and I snap my gaze to his.
He looks... ticked off and I don't know why that turns me on.
"I am," I say, crossing my arms.
"Then what did I just instruct you to do once you have the weapon in your hands?"
"Um... throw it?"
He sighs, shaking his head.
"Why do you lie to me?"
Oh, that's rich, coming from him.
"I don't know, maybe to give someone a taste of their own medicine?"
He frowns in annoyance.
"I have never lied to you."
"Oh but omitting the truth is just fine?"
"I was protecting your peace of mind. And you... you keep plenty from me."
And now he's bringing up my unspeakable past.
"That's not fair. It's different..."
"Excuse me," Xavier cuts in.
"As much as I'd like to stand here and listen to you two argue, someone is waiting on me."
We both turn to him and I color, embarrassed that I let loose in front of him.
He's so stoic and quiet it's easy to forget he's there.
"You may go," Cyrus inclines his head.
"Enjoy your... lovers spat," Xavier remarks before leaving, increasing my mortification by tenfold.
When he's gone, I clench my fists, turning away from Cyrus with a huff.
"So you've been bitter... I won't tell you about my past?"
"I only wish that you would trust me," he comes up behind me but I move away stubbornly.
"There are things you don't want to know... things that I can't ever say."
"There is nothing about you I would not want to know," he grasps my hand successfully this time and I reluctantly let him pull me to him.
"I am your mate, Koa."

Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life
So after being offline for two weeks, other than my Specter Knight deep dive, I'm finally back. I decided to do a review of new release Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life. This game is a remake of Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life and Harvest Moon: Another Wonderful Life.
Before we get into story, let's talk about the character creation. When playing, there are a wide variety of hair styles, hair colors, and eye colors. There are about four eye shapes to choose from, two more male, two more female. The game also starts with two clothing options. One is clearly the more feminine outfit, while the other is clearly the more masculine option. There are three gender options, though it's actually asked what your pronouns are, rather then gender. The pronoun options are she/her, he/him, or they/them. And because none of the eye shapes or body shapes are locked to any gender, so you can totally play as a super fem guy or a masculine girl, or whatever combo you feel like.
The story follows your quest to run your farm and raise your family. You must marry by the end of the first year, or have someone at a high enough heart level to marry by that time, or the game ends. Your character decides farming isn't for them, and moves back to the city. You can marry any eligible candidate of any gender, no matter what your pronouns are. From the day you marry, the game fastforwards a few years to you and your spouse having a child. The child will be a toddler, and will be most interested in what your spouse represents (farming/ranching for Cecilia and Matthew. I don't remember what it is for anyone else though, sorry) Depending on how you influence your child, one of two things will happen when they become an adult and the game ends. Either your child will take over the farm (greater interest and ability in farming or ranching) or will move to the city (greater interest and ability in anything else) Who you marry MAY have an effect on your child's personality, but I have no real confirmation yet. Your child can be depressed, so see if you can figure out how to raise a happy, healthy kid. You can also choose your child's gender (male or female) or say you don't care for a random gender. At the end of each year (going to bed on Winter 10) the game will fastforward a few years. You'll get a year of single life, a year with a toddler, a year with a young child, a year with a teen, and two years with an adult. Year 6 that you actually play is the last year before your character's sudden death, after which there's several scenes of people mourning your passing. After this point, you end up in farmer heaven where you and your spouse are young again, and it looks like your kid is back in their teen years.
Each month is exactly ten days. That makes each year 40 days to get anything done. Van sells and buys on the 3rd and 8th of every month. You can raise cows (normal, brown, marble, and star) sheep, and goats in the barn, and chickens and ducks (ducks only appear around year 2, if you have at least two open spaces for them and the pond, and cannot be bought, so make sure you keep at least one male duck so you can have more.) Van also sells tools (fishing rod and brush) and any tool upgrades. Gold is the best and final upgrade.
There are also hybrids (just put any of the 8 starter crops together through Vinnie, or the 5 tree crops together who appears in year 2. Try until you get the hybrid. As long as they aren't combining with tree fruits or the same seed (no tomato/tomato hybrids) you should be fine) and rare crops (put together hybrids to get these, again, may take several attempts) I'd say try to get all these as soon as possible so you can get started with these, as they earn a lot of money. You can get a free seedmaker from Daryl if you befriend him.
Now onto the issues I actually had with this game. It was fun, don't get me wrong. And trying to find out if you can influence your kid's personality is going to be a fun experiment. I had a blast and a lot of nostalgia as the Harvest Moon game was my first ever Harvest Moon game. This is the game that got me into games like Harvest Moon, Story of Seasons, Stardew Valley, etc. So I have a lot of fond memories of it. However, I feel there's not really enough time for anything. For such a family oriented game, I feel we could have had a year or two just you and your spouse, before kids. And maybe two years at toddler stage, a few years at young child stage, etc. Either that or longer months. In most Harvest Moon and Story of Seasons games, seasons are somewhere between 28-31 days depending on the game. Stardew Valley has 35 days a season. Plenty of time to get your farm off the ground, get married, and raise a kid. I just feel like we could have used more time to actually experience a family before the fastforward button is pressed for the next stage.
All in all, solid game. It could use more time than is given, but it's nothing game breaking. Solid 4/5. Would recommend if you're into this kind of game.

Firstly, i love your art. like its awesome!! ^^ okay, so weird question... but does sun and moon have a favorite flower? i just gotta know
Ok, so aside from themselves (obviously), the answers would change over time. After meeting Y/N, they would of course learn to love their favorite flower just as much as they love their own favorites. (Meaning they'll probably grow more of your favorite flowers for display in the shop hehe)
But before Y/N? Sun's would probably be either Tiger Lilies or Red Spider Lilies. (They're both really cool and actually grow where I live so I'm really lucky >:D) Besides the reason being how bright and colorful they are, they're eye-catching flowers that are easy to grow, and have positive meanings associated with them! (Tiger Lily = Confidence, Pride; Red Spider Lily = Rebirth/Renewal)
As for Moon, I'd probably say Clematis. He doesn't have a specific preference for their color, but he loves preparing pots of them and getting them ready to deliver. They grow in bunches, meaning they make attractive pots for display, and they bloom yearly so Moon doesn't have to worry about replacing them every single year. He also (secretly, don't tell anyone this, you got it) loves delivering bouquets with Clemantis in them because they're typically given by very thoughtful people who care greatly about the recipients. He loves being part of that connection.

Thank you @ratcatcher0325! Nice to know someone is interested in my doings 🥰
🎧Last song🎧: I'm not totally sure because I've been listening to podcasts the last week or so (and I am a sicko and spend a lot of time in silence). The last album I acquired and listened to was Best of Bootie Mashup 2024.
🎨Favorite color🎨: Green probably but all colors are nice depending on the context.
📚last book📚: I read a lot and I'm very tempted to share my real-person, non-tumblr blog where I talk about books but I won't! (DM if you want the link though). The last books I finished were The Crescent Moon Tearoom by Stacy Sivinski and Beans: A History by Ken Albala. However the most recent book I read and loved was Shoestring Theory by Mariana Costa. I'm also reading Don Quijote in Spanish right now and it's both very difficult and not as bad as I expected, and surprisingly funny.
🍿Last movie🍿: Wicked. I'm not mad about it but I can't believe they split it into two movies
📺 Last tv show 📺: I finished the recent season of Silo the other day. In general, I watch a lot of Star Trek and RuPual's Drag Race and Dropout shows.
🍔 sweet/spicy/savory 🍔: I enjoy food generally lol. I definitely love sweet and savory. I can't get too crazy with spicy but I do at least add pepper flakes to a lot of recipes.
🌀Current obsession🌀: Wikipedia! Over the last year I've been really into editing wikipedia. I translate Spanish <-->English and Icelandic -> English (with supervision from my Icelandic teacher; I'm not in school I just pay people to teach me stuff). I also do a fair amount of copy editing because editing is my job and I'm good at it and I use copy editing as a way to read interesting articles.
🔍 Last thing searched 🔍: I was looking for citations for this wikipedia article (coming soon in English).
👀looking forward to👀: I am looking forward to the SOUPer Bowl party my friend and I are hosting next week. We tried this out last year and had a lot of fun so we're doing it again! Everyone brings a soup and then we sample all the soups and hang out and chat.

🍿Last movie🍿: Ugh i am so embarrassed but Sonic 3. MY FRIENDS FORCED ME OKAY?!. Like you can't expect someone who likes "The Game", "Silence of the lambs", "there will be blood", "Jane Eyre" etc to like such a movie- i am REALLY picky about what i watch. But yeah it was Sonic 3 I'm sorry 💀

I was answering the ask then i called Hargrove "passed away recently". i was sure it was not as "recently" so i searched to find out. 2018 was the date. He was such a nice trumpeter. I found about him after coming up with Roy and now one of his songs i think is roy if he was a song. Here's the song for those wondering !
👀looking forward to👀: nothing specific. But i am curious about the gt of that upcoming fable game. Probably can't afford it and don't have the hardware to run it so I'll watch the gameplays 💀

Weird question here, but I noticed at the start of your snippet that Tsukumo referred to Shiki as a special grade sorcerer despite making it clear that she wasn't classified as one (yet) by the end of the short. Why is that?
You mentioned in an earlier post, the one regarding Shiki versus Upper Moon 2, that Shiki's sorcerer rank is a complicated issue. Based on the tidbits we've collected here she seems qualified for the position even before the "incident," having nearly defeated an entity comparable to special grade curses from an alternate dimension as well as accomplishing a domain expansion, which is referred to as the pinnacle of jujutsu, something Tsukumo seems to acknowledge. Thus, it begs the question why the rest of Jujutsu society hasn't then?
My guess is that it's probably politics at play, not dissimilar to how it is with Mai. After all, the amount of special grade sorcerers in the jujutsu world can be counted on a single hand. If half of those powerful sorcerers were aligned to a single faction I'd imagine it would upset the status quo. So in order to prevent Satoru from gaining even more leverage over the traditional hierarchy, the elders have stonewalled Shiki's promotion to special grade.
However, after the "incident" I'd imagine that all arguments against her promotion have fallen to the wayside since she alongside Satoru nearly destroyed the world. It makes one wonder:
Shiki: You knew this would happen... didn't you?
Satoru: Ehehehe~
Geto: And they think I'm the biggest threat!?
So am I on to something here or have I read too deeply between the lines?
:D
I'm actually bouncing around a little in my seat from excitement over here haha, I didn't really expect anyone to pick it up just yet! And from scattered Tumblr asks and AU mentions, no less. Color me impressed.
We're still a ways off from reaching the questions and particulars regarding Shiki's eventual ranking in zenith of stars, but you are on the right track there haha. If we really think about it -technically Okkotsu is also tangentially tied to the Gojo Clan, being a distant descendant of Michizane... as well as Gojo Satoru's student. So that's already 2/3 Special Grades on the Gojo side, even though at this point Okkotsu's Special Grade status is more of a technicality than anything else. It's still enough to make the elders a little sensitive on this matter haha.
And if you'll recall -Okkotsu's Special Grade status was declared when he was admitted to the jujutsu school, and his lineage was discovered in an investigation afterwards (sometime around the Night Parade incident).
