As we wander through our communities, we often hear about mental shift, phantom shift, dream shift, physical shift, etc. But have you ever heard of koika shift? bilocation shift?

2/What is an... otherfix?

The word otherfix is relatively unknown, but may nevertheless correspond to a significant part of the community. Beings with hyperfixation, you might like this!

3/Mythkin or fictionkin ?

These two terms are often confused, and one is more well-known than the other. It's time to sort this all out, because I think they're fed up 😅...

4/Some alterhumans, nonhumans, alterbeing and otherhumans terms more or less often used in our communities

I hope this can be a discussion where people aren't invalidating each other. For transparency: My intention behind this poll is NOT the invalidation of beings with created memories. I myself am one of those, and view memories of any type as potentially equally important and impactful even if different from each other ("potentially" because all exist on the same sliding scale of more or less impactful to the alterhuman who has them imo).

thing i've realized from the skins, the basic recoloring skins are of old overwatch instead of new overwatch skins, i feel like they shouldn't be, considering most of them would probably completely alterh ow the hero looks, like how they fucked up orisa so much, but like the reskins just make her back to normal??? alright?

back on the “alterh/man communities are kind of scary“ grind but frankly the more terms we learn the more confused and vaguely afraid of the whole thing we get

I think that the modern otherk*n/alterh*man thing has a lot to do with young people who are neurodivergent.

Being a teenager and in your early 20s is hard-you're finding out how best to interact with others and about yourself and how you relate to people and humanity as a whole. Trying to navigate that while being neurodivergent is even harder.

I know that I felt (and still feel) and overwhelming sense of "otherness" from just about everyone else and from humanity as a whole. This is because of my being very aware that I operate differently (and visibly different, at that) from the majority of people I meet.

When I was younger, it was easier for me to say "I may just be inhuman/nonhuman/parahuman/not a person" than it was to say "I am neurodivergent in a society that makes very little attempts to accommodate, understand, befriend, or learn about me; this causes me great pain and distress"

I never went into the otherk*n communities or anything like that. I would describe myself as being "broken" or "having a deformed soul" or "being almost like a person, but wrong". I felt so so close to being a human being, but not quite. I still feel that way. But I KNOW that I am a human who is very connected and aware of my own and collective humanity.

I KNOW that I feel this way because I was born with autism and OCD, and regardless of how I feel, I'm just as human and valuable and completely normal in my soul as everyone else.
