The magnificent banks of river Periyar have been a locale for many rare temples for years. Sri Dattanjaneya Temple in Ernakulam District near Aluva town is one amongst them. The main deity, Lord Siddharaja Dattathreya, bearing Conch, Wheel, Damaru, Trident and Kamandalu was consecrated on March 18, 1991 by Sri Sri Sri Ganapathy Sachidananda Swamiji of the Avdhooda Datta Peetta. Sri Mahaganapathy was also enshrined as a sub deity together with. Lord Dattathreya endowed with 3 heads, 6 eyes and 6 hands out of one is showering blessing of Bhagawan all the time. Later on 13-12-1999, the temple was empowered by the unique enshrinement and presence of Lord Anjaneya Bhagawan. After this Anjaneya prathishta, the temple began to be well known as Dattanjaneya Temple. And, the other two prominent prathishtas are Nagadevathas and Navagrahas.
