you might believe in Joe and Taylor but nothing denies the fact that he's not WB more than the copyright records that state WB has an American citizenship which is impossible for Joe to have unless he's applied for one about a decade ago (that's how long it takes from the UK)

since my friend sent me this post i couldn't stop thinking about it over and over again and i noticed something: she started using it more often after reputation and after a while i remembered joe was an english major and that means that... maybe... he could have introduced her this method of poetry writing?

i mean... besides topicalization her songwriting became much more mature and wise and lyrically better, her metaphors more intricate than before (she used to go to the obvious until 1989, the crude) and as a poet she grew much better and i wonder if maybe they discuss writing methods for improving her skills and this honestly melts my heart since we do know that playing with words is a passtime for them. plus: there are teories going aroung about joe being william bowery so... yeah, it makes me wonder.

taylor’s control of language always sends me into oblivion when i hear some of her songs. there’s this super sexy thing in linguistics called topicalization where you put the a phrase at the beginning of the sentence instead of its canonical position further right in the sentence to emphasise the an action or feeling over the thing. it appears in cruel summer when she says “it’s new, the shape of your body / it’s blue, the feeling i got” and again in invisible string when she says “bold was the waitress on our three year trip / cold was the steel of my axe to grind / gold was the colour of the leaves / hell was the journey but it brought me heaven” however she usually uses this for emotions instead of actions. she doesnt want to emphasise what happened, but how it feels. she creates such sensory in her songs but not of a sound or a sight but an emotion and thats neat

i dont believe joe+taylor are in a fake relationship but what gets me going is the fact the a lot of the reputation songs that are supposed to be about him were actually written in 2015 or before they even met, like delicate

my guess? it was for the album that would come out before the whole kim/kanye incident and she changed some lyrics to fit in with the reputation theme
