someone trips on a plug or something, maybe they finally turn off the power to the old palace, and the cryo-freeze unit (like the one that ring-sol ambase was transferred to kohlma in, from the nuru/breakout squad books) in the basement defrosts, letting out a very confused sifo-dyas who thought he, himself, was dead, roughly ... 14BBY. because dooku has an extra secret basement that didn't get looted along with the rest of the stuff as shown in the bad batch.

somehow he managed to hook up with eno & cere and the path (maybe there's a zeffo artefact hiding on serenno, too) and ends up being really good at getting people out just in time (obviously). he gets in, gets eeth koth, his wife, and his daughter out before the inquisitorius can get them as one of the first things he does. the path sort of absorbs the whiplash movement from coruscant (ferus olin & dex &tc). i thiiiiink they might end up on a planet somewhere in the redoubt/utegetu nebula that's impossible to get to without the force (because it's all a mess in there). and when 10BBY rolls around, leia gets kidnapped by the inquisitors, sifo's already on daiyu because The Force Told Him, so he's there while telling eno & cere &tc to get the fuck out of jedha because The Force Also Told Him That.

leia is very impressed with how he just knocked reva out by bonking her on the head. because he's so old.

sifo also refuses to leave any of the inquisitors behind because he's going to deprogram them, damn it. he likes keeping trilla with him because she's so bitchy and knows several imperial secrets.

at one point sidious & vader have a 'sifo-dyas? he's supposed to be dead!'

i find alderaan interesting in that it's supposedly the origin of the chosen one prophecy (which makes me inclined to believe that it IS leia who is the chosen one and anakin couldn't actually have biological children without the force intervening because he's technically a clone of his mother). it's ... there? i think that a lot of jedi dream of alderaan because the destruction of it by the death star, a kyber weapon, echoes backward in time because it was a giant kyber crystal doing the damage.
