armand drags people into his misery. his dull grey home is a reminder of how much he hates himself. how much guilt he feels for everything he's done, and how miserable he is that he cannot find a way to live honestly and be deserving of love. with armand gone, louis' home is in bloom with new colors and pieces of his life sprinkled throughout. armand is old and broken, and for 77 years he let louis be old and broken with him. and they found solace in eachother's misery, but armand is so swept up in his own mistakes his guilt that he can only make poor decisions to keep people around, to keep his stability. he turned daniel to keep him. he lied to louis to keep him. he let his coven burn because he could not keep it.

louis has a chance for happiness again, an opportunity to escape the prison in dubai that armand has made not only for louis but for himself. "can you imagine me without her?" but could you imagine louis without armand? we get to see that, we get to see the vampire louis du pointe du lac free.
