I just had a random thought about the owl house.
I think the insult of calling someone “half a witch” could have started with Caleb and Evelyn’s child. They might not have been good at magic or couldn’t use it at all. So other witches would make fun of them because they were literally only half witch. Eventually the insult would be used for anyone who wasn’t good at magic.🤔

anyway allow me to give you my unsolicited thoughts on toh (in episode order). this will continue to be updated but this is after 3-4 rewatches within the past month (after not being into it ever)
S1 Ep 2 Witches Over Wizards: how did I not realize until now that the second episode (Witches Over Wizards) is fully an allegory for the last episode like-- Luz gains friends while in a strange magical world and finally gets a magic staff but the land turns sour and her friends are puppets and she has to defeat the higher being that is puppeteering them. Uhm. Also there's a vegetable themed pet with bat wings (String Bean reference)
S1 Ep 15 Understanding Willow: "Where were you born?" -Gus, to King. This is definitely foreshadowing the discoverys about King's birth place
S2 Ep 7 Lost in Language: "The Owl shack?" - Amity. Owl shack reference?? The shack in the woods in s3??
S2 Ep 1 Separate Tides: "I can't change the past, but I can still change the future!" - Luz
Okay but she literally changed the past and indirectly invented the coven systems and helped Belos with everything so
"I do know that you're standing in a plant that eats flesh" - Hunter
He loves his research.
"And try not to get into trouble? The emperor is not a merciful man."
Firstly, past experience :( poor child. Secondly, he was trying to protect her!!
S2 Ep 4 Keeping Up A-Fear-Ances: sorry but there are a lot of references that probably aren't actually but:
"we've tried blah blah blah" like in that "ad" in Odd Squad. Also, the whole Warlock thing is a "reference" to tat one MLP episodes with the Film Flam brothers
S2 Ep 6 Hunting Palisman: pretty sure Amity stayed home because she was grounded about her hair.
Not a theory or anything but Luz's face when Flapjack meets Hunter is just so damn CUTE I love her
"These out bursts are... Painful. And so is watching you fail" - Belos
OMG he's so fake that was so deliberate he was obviously trying to make Hunter think he wasn't doing that on purpose. But later in Hollow mind he shows Hunter that the hand thing does happen in command and he was doing it to Hunter the whole time. I wonder if that's how he got his face scar?
S2 EP 12 Elsewhere and Elsewhen: "You witches come up wth the worst lies" well, she was actually not a witch but a human, which I think was something about you, belos
HOLYYY All the parallels between Hunter/Caleb and Eda's Dad goes crazy. Thesar in his left eye like flapjack, the scars on his hands, the hair as someone pointed out. "So someone new can learn the trade" Hunter learned the trade!! Cutie!!
S2 Ep 15 Them's the Breaks, Kid: Luz writes "Petrification BAD" in her notebook next to her glyph notes :( I bet she's thinking about Eda's Petrification
S2 Ep 18 Labyrinth Runners: Galderstones being a good gift for the emperor because he needs them to make new grimwalkers
Emira's hand and Skara's arm disappears for a few seconds
S2 Ep 20 Clouds on the Horizon: Hunter, when he is playing as Luz, teleporting with his powers to help Willow (don't know how that worked. He doesn't have magic)
"Sounds like I joined the wrong coven" says Alador after King says he gets a lunch break. Are you implying that Odalia doesn't let her husband have a lunch break?? I still hate them both but come on
THE WAY LUZ LOOKED AT AMITY AS SHE WAS TRYING TO BREAK THE CAGE 😭😭 I ACTUALLY LOVE HER SO MUCH THEY'RE SO CUTE GOD
Okay I know that Luz wanted to face Belos and such, which i assumed was the reason she made Gus switch her and Hunter. But I just realized that no, she realized what Belos would do to Hunter if he found him and was like "nah man don't you dare kill my brother take me instead and I will kill you" 😭❤️ God I love these random ass characters my goodness golly willy wonkers
I'm, like, a little stupid but in the scenes, if you actually look, you can very obviously see Gus straining to keep up the illusion. Even when he falters other illusions, he keeps this one up and you can see his hand rings and him sweating from the effort. Good good details I love this show
S2 Ep 21 King's Tide: Cutie patootie Hunter spinning his staff to defend Willow from rocks. Also him not using his right arm because sigil :( bro has suffered too much
Just thought it was a funny bit of foreshadowing that the guy with the tall top hat ducks at the beginning to foreshadow the top of it coming off in the fight
"Have you as my right hand? I'd sooner cut off my whole arm." And then Eda's right arm gets cut off
You think Terra was the one who realized Raine was planning something and then asked Belos to put her and Graye beside Eda/Raine in the draining spell so that she could figure it out and stop it?
"I don't want to see another human life destroyed by this place!" He's talking about Caleb, but I think rather he should be talking about himself.
Sorry this isn't an Easter egg or whatever I just think the way Belos looks at his clothing when Luz insults his fashion sense is so funny he's like "wait what's wrong with my outfit :("
King's.... Tide? And then... The eclipse makes the tides go out? I see what you did there
S3 Ep 1 Thanks to Them: Vee saw her friends being sad about their parents and she went back to the historical society because she wanted to help them T-T I love her
I might be crazy but is the "It came from the dirt" poster in Luz's room a grimwalker reference? I may be reading to deeply into this
This isn't an Easter egg hunt they say Luz located the Titan's blood is so similar to the way people find the stronghold in Minecraft
The back of Vee's phone case has the guy from Nightmare before Christmas on it
Belos totally can't swim. Embarrassing (why did he start drowning immediately)
"Caleb. You would stab me in the back??" "You did it to him first" idk why but this made me giggle he LITERALLY stabbed him with a knife.
Not sure which is first, but the same girl who saw the monster (Belos) on the side of the road is also in the library with Amity and the book thingies
"Who cares about the ripple affects??" Hunter is a ripple affects man 😔 who cares about him tbh /silly
The way Amity recites nearly exactly what Luz said to her several months ago really does that she was listening. They really love each other
S3 Ep 2 For The Future: Raine realizing what they did to Eda's arm. Also Eda going harpy mode and Raine being love struck. 10/10 adorable moment
Camila: "It's not good if you try to hold it all in" and the FACE she MAKES. She's had experience :(
Boscha has a crab headband 🥺 very cute (like her palisman Maya)
I can't get over Hunter reaching for his staff that's not there and him hearing the bird chirping and thinking it's flapjack Im gonna cry (also Hunter in FTF is just 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼)
Eda's hair is like Evelyn's.
S3 Ep 3 Watching and Dreaming: The way Amity is pulled from Luz in WaD is just like how Luz is Pulled from Camila in the episode where she visits the human realm and meets Vee
In the owl house remains, there are imprints on the walls that I assume line up ett he stuff in there before.
"The archives". There are a bunch of photos with the Collector's memories. Maybe the archives is actually his mindscape or something similar?
This is a very baseline observation, but I thought it was adorable how Eda had her moment with Luz teaching her how to make a spell circle for the first time, and then King had his moment when they did the "weh" together
Misc: Raine wasn't actually brainwashed; they used the bard magic to change the effects of the tea that Terra gave them so it wouldn't effect them. Smart smart. I like them now which is disappointing
"This is too much, even for you"- Alador to Odalia, Clouds on the Horizon
And then "This is a bit much, even for you!" - Amity to Boscha, For the Future (proof that Boscha has a crush on Amity /silly)
Palistrom trees are rare because Belos harvests then for grimwalkers and to eat the palismen
Bro they had a titan this whole time for blood (they probably didn't want to cut King open anyway lol) (maybe it wouldn't have worked anyway since the Titan created the isles and his blood gotta be different than King's? Idk)
The book that shows Grimwalkers shows: Galderstones as hearts, Stonesleeper lungs, and Palistrom wood used as keratin (skin, hair, nails)
In the one where Gus has new friends - "Illusions are just so.... y'know?"
And then in Labyrinth Runners, the head witch does ths same shit
GUYYS did Belos do that to Flap???
The only thing Hunter is allowed to customize about his appearance is his socks, I bet, in the coven. I bet he has a lot of fun socks. I think this is Also part of his obsession with making clothes and custom e accessories and things
In s2 last episode and s1 last episode eda and Luz both do a spicy toss
The hand thing that Darius did that one time? I don't like how it's portrayed in the fandom. He did it because he was going to "hit" Hunter. We know he wasn't actually, but it scared Hunter. It wasn't out of affection. He was threatening Hunter but he decided he liked him, and a he did a fake hit. But it wasn't affectionate. The fandom likes to make art where Darius does this to Hunter as if it were a little headpat, but is not. I don't like it.
All the Plantar family frogs show up: Hunger has a Sprig plushie, and in TtT, HopPop is on the wall of the vet clinic, and Luz drew Polly in her notebook. HopPop is also on a book one one Willow's dads gives her
"The emperor is not a merciful man" - Hunter "The emperor is not a forgiving man" -Kiki
Tiny cute note!! Camila is specifically studying the Ice glyph in the credits of TtT, and in FtF, that's specifically is the one she remembers!
Vee uses the same bat in her first appearance vs TtT
I'm definitely reading into this too much tbh but whatever: the last thing on Gus's bucket list is to be the surprise in a hollow cake, and then in the lastish episode of that season, King is the surprise in that cake when everything is all sad
King has an exoskeleton lmaoo
I think Willow, Gus, and Hunter all like panting after he saves them from the vines in FtF parallels Luz and King and Eda in WaD
As mentioned by someone somewhere, Darius's goop parallels Belos's very much. It even has the same eyeballs in it, and I feel like Hunter is very brave to stand up to him in that episode :))
Collector definitely has abandonment issues. "I don't like being alone" "And where is he now?" and he's always like... "Don't leave me!!" Sad. I like them.
In s2ep15 Eda calls Bump "vice princy B" and in FtF they call him "Princy B" and I love that for him
In one of the first season episodes, King won't admit that he misses Luz. In FtF, he openly admits it immediately :(

(AC = CASSANDRA JEAN)
Not only are these two the same character, they will both have the exact same arc. MARK MY WORD PEOPLE.
Willow is Dru, Kit is Luz and IG Ty would be Gus? Or Amity ¿ I haven’t thought this logistics out and Janus is Belos

Owl House Hidden Detail
Currently rewatching The Owl House and I noticed/realized a detail that I don't think many people talked about after everything was revealed.
In season 2 Episode 4, Eda's mum reveals to Luz that there was a human who came to the Boiling Isles originally setting off Luz's main mission for season two.
BUT
Her exacts words were "You're not the only Human to have lived in Bonesborough. [...] My great grandmother told me about a human who once lived here. But one day he just vanished."
We all know that the person who left the 'thing' in the library but I strongly think that the human she referred to wasn't Phillip but Caleb! Yea Phillip wrote the book but he was still an outcast compared to Caleb who was loved and had been around for longer compared to Phillip.
Also since it is very heavily suggested (confirmed now her name is Evelyn) that the wild witch who Caleb fell in love was the great grandmother (aka related to Eda)....
THIS MEANS that not only did Caleb die but Evelyn (the grandmother) HAD NO FUCKING CLUE.....she could literally have thought he abandoned her!!!!!
The heartbreak that she must have been feeling....
It also supports why no one in her family knew that she married and had a child with a human! She may have been too hurt to admit that she had a kid with Caleb and that he left her shortly afterward, not knowing he was actually murdered by Phillip.

SELF PROMO FOR MY FIC,,,
https://archiveofourown.org/works/57261865 it's meant to be read kind of as an original story? tbh it's like- i tried to do this w/ ocs but full creative liberty means i went very off the rails. anyways, this is a dark-fantasy adjacent about a girl-turned-demon trying her best to keep her ever-growing pile of lies from collapsing on top of her, while racing against time itself to save a friend that no longer remembers her.
it's worldbuilding-heavy and features…. a lot of nods to an early 2000's brazilian orkut unreality project turned cult conspiracy.
Luz Noceda wakes up, on what she knows is her last day in the human realm, with memories of the year that is both yet to come and has already passed. Before she can grieve, but as regret for the path she took already settles in, she decides to go about things differently. As she finds herself slowed down in her tirade by a curse that bends and warps her body into something unholy and unrecognizable, Luz soon figures out she is not the only one who remembers her mistakes as the Golden Guard - and if she wants to save anyone at all, she might have to let go of what little remains of herself. Meanwhile, in the palace, the emperor goes insane: mad with pain and beyond recognition in shape and actions, he is locked away, usurped within his own home. His insanity has a clear reason: the titan's heart has stopped beating.
i wanna infodump about it very very badly but also... ive gotta finish my work to finish the cover for this to finish that piece with amity and luz smooching and oh maybe wORK ON THE FUCKING EDITING FOR THIS (the 1st of its main "arcs" is almost fully drafted - from the moment eda finds herself in charge of protecting a witchling with a thousand enemies, to the unfortunate consequences of luz's self-destructive spiral upon finding that the face in the mirror is not her own)

there's an amity POV thing i wanna write for the princess luz AU, but it's truly plotless n largely just involves her being a spectator to one event that has already happened within the AU canon. which is fine i guess, i can do whatever i want and all that
but. i must admit. that 98% of the reason that i want to write this is.... just for amity watching hunter and luz be How They Are. & having a very long moment where she's genuinely and not-unkindly like. okay. Wow. you two really truly honest to god are complete freaks. god bless, love and light, diplomatic phrasing and all that, but jesus FUCKING CHRI-

Theory of Hooty The Owl: The Owl House
I'm watching a reactor (MikeyVenture) and he was trying to figure out why the titans blood vial had an owl as the topper for it. And I think I might actually have an idea or like a headcannon about that and it's built on the Hooty is a parasite worm theory(thethridbill):
youtube
youtube
Okay okay okay so we know there are already two brothers, but what if there were two sisters too?
Evelyn and someone else.
What if one of them. The one who I'm guessing had an owl palisman wanted to escape to the human realm. What if she knew that titan blood was she only way to do it, and devised a plan to get some. What if she created a parasite to help her get the titan blood to help her create this portal.
So she creates Hooty. And gains titan blood and at some point the eye of the titan. Because we know the titan specifically had Hooty coming out of his eye.
And so she creates the portal using the eye and the blood and she goes to the mortal realm.
But it's the 1600 and people are hunting witches and she goes missing, and so her sister, Evelyn, comes to rescue her. But she's too late.
And in the process meets a human named Caleb and falls for him. But when her sister dies Evelyn is very obviously upset.
And so Caleb renounces the practice and agrees to go back with her.
They start to plan a family and Evelyn gets pregnant. But what they don't expect is Caleb's younger brother coming back.
And he kills Caleb and maybe even Evelyn, but the child makes it, and that's the Clawthorn line. And that's why the owl house is old and in the family.
And the family all has bird imagery.
And Hooty is a Himbo and super old and doesn't remember things well plus kings dad was probably already dead by the time Hooty came on the scene.

so, the owl house ended a while ago and here's something i've been pondering about. were there any belos followers who refused to change their ideology? in hollow mind, king says something very profound:
Tumblr media
"No one wants to think they've wasted their life following the wrong person."
now, according to what we know, luz did get proof that the emperor was a false prophet who was planning on committing genocide, but did everyone else in the boiling isles get to know about this? i don't really remember if the news actually spread. i mean, during the draining spell, most witches were ecstatic and put their full trust in belos.
granted that they started to die because of the spell, the collector saved them almost immediately and then turned them into puppets. there wasn't much time to process everything that happened, or piece together that the emperor was evil and trying to murder them. it could have been a spell gone wrong, for all they know.
and based on real life experiences, we know that people don't just stop following someone they've respected and looked up to their whole life, even if there is solid evidence of said person being bad. there have been a good many instances of people worshipping and following absolutely horrible people of authority, and completely ignoring or justifying whatever atrocities they have committed. the boiling isles may be accepting of most people, but i think there may still be some who believe that belos was doing the right thing.
i'm a big fan of unintentional consequences in media. a supposed happy ending leading to a new problem. two instances of this trope done well is the legend of korra and infinity train (spoilers ahead in case you haven't watched them).
in legend of korra s3, zaheer and the red lotus kill the queen of the earth kingdom, in the name of anarchy and freedom. while it was a good riddance, given that the earth queen was a selfish tyrant, this directly leads to kuvira in s4 turning into another tyrant, because of the chaos zaheer caused.
similarly in infinity train, amelia the false conductor is defeated and she starts to redeem herself after realizing that she can't change the past. but this directly leads to the formation of apex and their rebellion, misdirected by the belief that amelia was the true conductor.
anyway, if the owl house had more seasons, a sequel series, a comic, something of that kind; i wonder if they would explore the aftermath of everything that happened in the finale. would there be belos followers, demanding justice for him? would there be other witches and demons who are questioning their entire lives and identities, struggling to come terms with this new truth? would there be people who would immediately shift to worshipping the new "authority", like lilith did with king? how did the coven heads cope with this?
i think it would be really interesting to focus on.

Chapter 11, part 5/5
Sorry I was late, had some work to take care of. Chapter 12 will be released on Thursday as I have way to much real life stuff going on Tuesday. Enjoy the Lumity.
The Blight Siblings are able to escape the guard and take refuge in the coral reef. The twins are going back and forth on theories on who exactly the mysterious girl is. The twins question why Princess Edalyn seemed so close to her, or why the girl lives in the palace in such a nice room.
The twins then come to a conclusion, that the girl is Princess Edalyn’s long lost daughter and that Amity is in love with a Princess (hey I didn’t say it was the right conclusion). The twins then excitedly tell their conclusion to Amity, excitedly telling Amity that she’s in love with a princess.
Amity, who's kinda in her own world at this point, suddenly is overcome with a thrilling sense of excitement. She imagines the mysterious girl as a dashing hero, a charming Princess who saves her from her mother and treats her with unconditional love. This fantasy overtakes Amity and she falls over with excitement, and Emira jokes that Amity’s dead.
Amity then rushes to Emira and says she wants to meet her so badly, but how could she. She certainty isn’t going to try to break in but the guards won’t let a random stranger interact with a princess. Emira then comes up with an idea, Odaila is meeting with the Queen at the palace, maybe the mysterious princess will be there too! Maybe Amity can meet her then. (Probably should have thought of that in the first place but whatever).
Amity loves this idea and jumps for joy. She proclaims to the titan she WILL find her princess…
(I’m sure this will end perfectly well and there won’t be any problems at all).

Ever wonder what would've happened if The Owl house aired in 2013?
That's right.
We would have had an OWLSTUCK.
They would've been rendered accordingly and there would've been a short-lived comic spoken of fondly by both fanbases.
Anyway here are some kids and their classpects.
Luz Noceda - Page of Light. Duh. Most obvious one on this list. You *could* make a very strong argument for Page of Hope too, but aside from her name literally BEING Light, I think it fits a bit more. Too bad you can't multi-aspect. Though let's be real, if anybody COULD, it would be Luz Noceda, so who knows, maybe that's her special Snest (in-world Sburb variant) given gift.
Amity Blight - Witch of Breath. Breath is a lot to do with one's self in the sense of self-actualization and understanding. She needed a lil help getting there but I feel Amity fits this quite well!
Willow Park - Mage of Life. In Homestuck, Life as an aspect is most closely tied to healing, but it can also be quite literal, as we do see Life aspected characters resurrect dead friends. I think if any aspect would allow one to wield life in the most literal sense via battle plants, it'd be, well, Life!
Gus Porter - Seer of Mind. This is a class and aspect wombo combo that fits him to a goddamn T. He's far sharper about others thoughts and natures than people think, including himself. Learning to trust in his intuition is his arc. He has a pretty good grasp of others, even if he does tend to try to focus more on the good bits than the bad, even when the latter may be pertinent.
King Clawthorne - Prince of Blood. Literal royalty in name and nature, with the Blood of the Titan running through his veins whether he realizes it or not. A Prince is an active destructive class with incredible offensive capability, one that destroys its aspect or through it, in this case, Blood. As a Titan, that potential is there for King. But we know the little guy wouldn't use it unless he had to. Right?
Hunter - Heir of Time. Of all the characters, no one fits the aspect of Time better than Hunter given his relations and just how many of him have existed throughout the ages. And as for Heir, I mean, could it be any more obvious?
Vee - Sylph of Space. Conceptually, Space means a lot of things in Homestuck, and is seen by the fandom as one of the "fundamental" aspects. A common theory is no game has a potential to win without both a Space and Time player. But one thing Space represents is Form and Boundary. It is the amorphous stage the play of reality is set upon. What better for a shapeshifter? Sylphs are essentially a Healer class.
Masha - Rogue of Doom. A Thief steals for their own benefit, and a Rogue for the benefit of others. Masha Stole Doom from the entirety of her Reality Check Summer Camp crew, *especially* Vee, giving her her very first friend, potential crush, and a new home and lease on life.
The Collector - Lord of Void. He is Everything and Nothing and can create or uncreate both at will. The Lord embodies their aspect to the absolute. They are a Master class, all-powerful and uncontested in their domain. He is a leftover from a previous game of Snest, one played between just two people, the other, of course, being...
Papa Titan - Muse of Life. We've never seen an adult play any variant of Sburb. But to deal with the Collector and his games, I think he may have had no choice. A Muse, too, is a Master Class, but far more passive. The Titan is how all life in the Demon Realm exists. The Titan *is* the Isles. How much more Life-aligned can you be? And as effectively just a corpse at this point, obviously, he's pretty passive.
Emperor Belos - Knight of Rage. A perfect mastery of his aspect to both directly harm and to manipulate, a truly terrifying foe. Again, adults aren't normally players, but, you better believe he's the reason this whole damn apocalypse happened in the first place.
Boom wrote that up in like 20 minutes, welcome to my special hell.
If by chance somebody actually *likes* this and wants more for some godforsaken reason, I'll give the kids a strife specibus too.

Between Odalia clearly being afraid of Belos in her reaction to Hunter… The investors from her show being revealed as wild witches… And all these things being written just before the show’s shortening was announced, it really makes me wonder if there was something else intended.
Those wild witches the BATTs freed could’ve just been a case of reused assets, but Hunter also insinuates that Belos targeted Blight Industries so that rebels couldn’t use them against him. We also see another purpose, but still; I can’t help but speculate that maybe there would’ve been a plot about Alador and Odalia caught between the rebels and the coven and having to make a choice.
Given there’s two of them and how they reveal contrasting stories, I wonder if it would’ve been Alador who sided with the rebels, while we saw more of Odalia’s downward spiral in siding with Belos despite everything, her thought process. Or maybe she would’ve also made the same choice as Alador, mostly to save her own life; She otherwise hasn’t learned anything from the experience or the system’s corruption, nor does she intend to improve as a parent either.
This does remind me of the storyboards, where Odalia would’ve apparently made a truce of some kind with the kids and the Collector, and maybe serving the Collector would factor into that realization. Maybe her fear of Belos, a higher authority, is encapsulated with Odalia dealing with the Collector, and it makes her reflect on how she treated Amity after having a moment of empathy.
Or it’s just the same pragmatic idea of wanting things to go back to where they were; And if that’s the case, it makes me think to my earlier speculation. It reminds me of my theory since forever that Belos wanted to resurrect the Titan, and I wonder if the draining spell was originally intended by the writers to be the energy necessary for such a spell.
But the Collector was included after the shortening (and from what storyboards for Elsewhere and Elsewhen imply, replaced some other cosmic antagonist as someone more agreeable in a shorter timeframe), so they fit the character in and had to change the sequence leading to this; So the Titan being revived was an impromptu Plan B, and Belos gained the ability to possess things so he could pull it off. So it’s the same end point but a different road leading to it…
Thus, my speculation on Odalia having the same endpoint of not really learning, but still someone you could count on to have common sense in the end; This would’ve happened with Blight Industries caught between two sides to potentially cater to, if not both in Odalia’s greed… But then the shortening made it so this was scrapped and it’d happen with the Collector and Belos’ possession threatening the Archives and the entire population within. But the finale was already going past the intended 44-minute mark, the writers opted to prioritize Camila… Still, same idea in the end.
Even with the show over, there’s still eternal speculation on what could’ve been in the original plans; So we’ll never stop wondering! Just as the adventure keeps going in-universe, and we have the pilots to work off of, neat.

So, I had a thought a few weeks back about the Understanding Willow ep in s1. Where we saw briefly in the flashback during the ep of young Amity when she was talking about her parents to Inner Willow.
Where we see brown haired Amity and Alador and Odalia looming over her. (I remember back pre s2 people were speculating on what they looked like in depth based on that ss and it was so interesting to see Alador with a goatee. Tangent for another time though!!)
This screenshot.
Tumblr media
I could've sworn she was holding Francois in this scene. Or something that looked as them. King's stuffed animal, you know??? I do not know why but I was thinking of that. And I guess I remembered it wrong!
Well, I was thinking about this moment in Watching and Dreaming too...
Tumblr media
AND LIKE HEAR ME OUT. THIS IS THE HEADCANON!!
So, it's a full circle moment where Amity's mom wasn't the best, and maybe she threw out Francois (because status and trying to get your kids to grow up or whatever. It seems like something she'd do.)
Eda ends up finding them!! Because you know, Eda fishes for garbage and whatnot. King gets it because hes very young -> then of course passes it to Collector at the end.
We have this full circle moment where Amity is listening to them talk and being kind and nurturing to him. A full circle moment where Amity is literally doing the opposite of what Odalia did. Kind of rewriting a wrong.
Of course Amity doesn't KNOW its the same plush but hey! It would be a really disheartening parallel. That's all I'm saying.
So, in conclusion the headcanon was that Francois belonged to Amity first and Odalia threw it out and then it gets to that point with Collie. That's such a weird thing to think about but I really like that thought a lot so now it's a headcanon of mine. Very small of one but I could've seen it be somewhat true.
remembering a detail in canon wrong is crazy. like i just had a mandela effect where i literally thought a scene had something in it, it didnt. and then i had a crisis because "how could i have missed that!! i have literally watched this first season like 8-9 times-"
anyway now its a headcanon i guess lmao. would you like to hear about it???
