hmmm so shoyo decides to try tiktok out because of all the hype the jnt receives during the olympics. they're the monster generation after all — atsumu and suna have been gaining quite a lot of traction on their pages, and they ask shoyo to cameo in their videos often, by popular demand. so he decides to give it a go!

of course, as soon as shoyo launches his tiktok and posts a video (just a short one of him sitting on the locker room bench at practice, introducing himself while the rest of the jnt are walking around and chatting in the background) he blows up instantly. @n1njashoyo gains over 30k followers within a day, and his first video gets a 100k likes in a couple of days. his account becomes big news everywhere.

he's one of the most popular members of the team globally, so it makes sense. he's known as the cutest player on the jnt, and in brazil/argentina he's so famous as “ninja shoyo”. people start tagging him in edits and fancams, and he sometimes duets them to praise and thank them.

lots of “hinata senshu notice me please 🥺” comments on his videos, and he replies to some of them with “hi !! 👋🏻” because he's just the cutest ever fr <33 he also responds to most japanese commenters and people that comment in portuguese because he understands them better.

his posts are mostly workout routine videos, different kinds of warm-up/cool-down stretches, high protein meal plan discussions—and he also films (and ocassionally goes live during) his evening runs and practise sessions. he has a series of form correction videos on volleyball, and a series of videos on resistance workouts that target specific muscles.

and every time he posts a clip where he's shirtless, doing curls or just anything with the weights, the videos are so clean and zoom in on his muscles so nicely<3 people start commenting things like “hinata sen do you have a camera man?” and he replies to one of them like “yes i do! :)” and they start telling him “senshu i think your cameraman has a crush on you...” little do they know v_v.

he doesn't respond to those comments, and the rumours about him having a lover away from public eye resurface. some viewers from brazil (where he lives at, since he's a player for ASAS) say that they “know something the others dont” etc etc.

and it builds up until about six months after shoyo launches his tiktok, one night he posts a thirst trap. low exposure filter, dim blue lighting, he's shirtless and standing infront of the mirror in just a pair of sweats — and behind him, someone is wrapping their arms around his waist. the video ends as soon as you fully lock your arms around his waist, and it drives his fans crazy.

the fangirls start posting about how their dream husband just announced that they're no longer single, comments like “gf reveal???” “hinata sen WHO IS THAT” “mr. hinata shoyo EXPLAIN” fill nearly all his recent videos.

after that little stunt, he disappears from social media for a bit. he had posted the thirst trap right on the brink of off season, and he stops posting on any of his socials for a couple of months.

then one day he makes a sudden, quick comeback — he drops a long video of himself and you, his beautiful partner, relaxing at a beach resort and enjoying a sunset dinner together at the beach. he clinks his glass of cherry wine with yours, takes a sip and grins at you all dopey before leaning in to give you a kiss. there are matching golden bands on both your ring fingers.

and the caption? “5 stars ⭐ food is good !! :)”

Vet student here. Can attest that proptosis isn't "all the way out", but it's REAL bad and can result in rapid blindness once your optic nerve loses its oxygen supply. No one who's gone from that is going to appreciate the "well technically it's not out YET" part of that terrible, traumatizing experience. (This happens a lot to brachy dog breeds. Frenchies, that kind of thing.)

Bonus fun fact, if you want to do a full enucleation, you have to do a circular cut through a whole bunch of extrinsic eye muscles like you're getting the top off a jack o'lantern. It bleeds absolutely everywhere--like, the cow you just enucleated will be fine, they have a lot of blood to spare, but you as the clinician might need therapy afterward.

Being aplatonic is such an odd place to be, I hope you don't mind me musing on it in your inbox. The one person I'd call a friend of mine is someone who I used to have romantic feelings for, for like the first five years we knew each other. My romantic feelings did go away, leaving the closeness and loyalty built up by all those years, so I have a love for him that I can only call friendship... but he's the only person I've ever felt that with. Like, IS that what platonic love is? And if I'm honest I still have occasional flare-ups (for lack of a better word) of romantic feelings.

And I have a lot of people I would say are what you defined as 'buddies', who I've known for years. I'm happy to talk with and spend time with them, and I wish them the best, but I don't feel... warm towards them. I'm not cold, I'm just not warm, I recognize that I do not love them.

It's a confusing place to be, lol.

The situation you mention with your one friend being someone you had romantic feelings for for a long time-- that's actually a very relatable situation to me. The person I call my "best friend" or my "brother" I had unrequited romantic feelings for for like, definitely 10 years at least. And like in your case, they flare up on occasion. V_V

I'm glad the "buddies" terminology makes sense! That's definitely a feeling I have a lot. People I enjoy spending time with, but there's not that pull to any kind of deeper relationship.

It really is a confusing place to be. So much of our society and societal expectations is built on the understanding of these feelings that you and I just don't have.

curious about whats going on? me too! but my tag for this AU is #spindashswap. its not its official name, but for now, its the best name the au has v_v TLDR; A lot of character's roles are swapped, with the intent being to keep their personalities intact.

The original copy, Metal Shadow is Robotnik's greatest creation, a combination of Robotnik's mechanical genius and Shadow's Life Data, Metal Shadow is Shadow's 1 to 1 in practically every way! Running off Chaos Energy, Metal Shadow is capable of using Chaos Spear, Blast, and Control, and gives Shadow a run for his money in their proficiency with them. Like most things, however, they are not immune to a kick to the head.

Iblis is a fragment of the God of the Moon, Lunares, representing the harsh light that reflects from the moon's surface, it's counterpart being Mephilis, the moon's shadow. Whilst Mephilis is the retrospective and thoughtful half, it is also content to wait, for it is inevitable that they will be released, as the Princess Elise is doomed to shed a tear eventually. Iblis, on the other hand, is sealed within a sceptre, and is accidentally released by the Ultimate Lifeform, Sonic the Hedgehog.

(Whilst I speculate that Shadow's Arc in SA2, Heroes and 06 has been about his own agency and his desire to keep his promise to Maria, Sonic in canon doesn't really have that. He's always been a paragon of his own freedom and doesn't give that away to anyone. No one can stop him in his pursuit to do the right thing, and he can't really be manipulated into it either, unlike Shadow or Silver. All this to say that I think it's super interesting that Mephiles never attempts to manipulate Sonic, and instead relies on his consistency in his plan to make Elise release Iblis. He doesn't bother trying to get Elise to become close with Sonic because it's an inevitability he can rely on. )

Iblis, instead of attempting to manipulate Sonic, instead attempts to destroy him by openly mock about his fight against the inevitable. Sonic can run at the speed of sound, but surely he cannot outrun the speed of light. He are unable to save the world he desires to protect, and they stand in the proof of that, in Crisis City, the shrouded remains of Soleanna. Everyone that they have come to care about is long gone, and Sonic is finally (inevitably, Iblis might say) caught by GUN and sealed away. Wheras Mephilis attempts to break Shadow's will by trying to convince him that they will always be seen as a villain, and the world will betray him, Iblis attempts to break Sonic's will by trying to convince him that it is a lost cause. He wasn't strong enough to protect those on the ARK. His freedom was taken by GUN. It will inevitably happen again.

Of course, it doesn't end up working. Sonic fights anyways. There are people that are counting on him and he doesn't have time to entertain the possibility that he could let them down. Let Tails down.

As for what Iblis steals from Sonic. Maybe his reflection or something. This is a lot of word dump for a silly roleswap au.

WIP Whenever

Another unprompted and untagged WIP WednesdayWhenever. Very uninspired recently so I decided hey, maybe I can redo something REALLY old, like this thing of Gale and Claire from 2009.

God, fifteen fucking years, oof. I can see issues with my proportions today, but I have DEFINITELY improved by leaps and bounds. God they were bobble-heads in that old one, and that was not the goal.

I don't think I talk about Claire a lot. She's a succubus and sort of adopted them as a sibling, much in the same way an extrovert will adopt an introvert. I also dragged her into FHR as the puppet o3o;; Other than that, she doesn't really get the attention she deserves as such a long-extant child of mine, sadly v_v

God those proportions were horrendous, though

my day was quite boring actually, work and then studying so it was busy fjfjf

But when studying, I use brainscape to create all my flashcards and just do exam questions and that's pretty much all my revision 😭 usually, you just have to start even when you don't want to but I'd encourage to really break down what you're going to revise into small segments and maybe make a little checklist to tick things off so it's more manageable and doesn't seem like you're not making progress!

you might not feel like starting it at all but in my experience, just doing it gets it out the way. I never wanna start revising but when I do just start it I find that it's not as much effort as I thought it was before (adhd and procrastination might make these tasks seem like they're soooo much effort when in reality it's not as difficult as we think!) so getting into the routine of doing it even if you may not feel like it worked the best for me :)

but yh that's pretty much all that I can say on this, since exams suck and they can be a lot of work and demotivating. good luck with your studying! it may seem hard and like a lot of effort but i promise when you get down to just starting it (even if it's only like 15-20 minutes) then you're still doing progress, it's always step by step :)!

go gunhee: SALUTES. MY DEEPEST RESPECT FOR THIS OLD MAN. he was such an interesting chara! simultaneously the best person to be chairman, but you could see he was not completely made for the role as a more strength-based hunter if compared to say... someone who was more cunning like choi jong-in. not to say he didn't have cunning, but it was an interest dichotomy. i really enjoyed the political insight/scenes that his role brought - it made the world feel a lot realer. also really enjoyed him looking out for jinwoo like a baby bird despite that baby bird being the most terrifying one out there

cha hae-in: i wish we got to learn more about her motivations and backstory as a hunter. she seemed strong enough to be a guildmaster in her own right, and i would've loved to know more about why she's with the hunters guild, a better breakdown of her abilities, and honestly a better romance hook that wasn't "oh this is the only guy who doesn't stink" LOL? i love her hunter's outfit + spirit weapon ability a lot, would've been cool to see her make her own decisions with interesting motivations rather than just reacting to narrative points

choi jong-in: first impression is that he would have made a great corporate manager, then i saw the ending where in a world without gates he WAS one. vindication. i really enjoyed that he fought intelligently, i.e. finding the pathway deeper into the ant nest. i also wish i saw more of him fighting - i think his powers would've been really cool to show more of, even if only to hype up sjw's level up

lim tae-gyu: sopping wet guildmaster... i wasn't expecting much of him, but i actually really enjoyed that he was an archer! i expected him to also be a dagger-style assassin and have a face-off with sjw, which would've been really boring. again, would've loved to see more of his powers... he never got any moments that made him feel like an s-ranker

min byung-gyu: king of flourishing and staying in his own lane. it was awesome to see him take out a fucking MACE alongside his insane healing abilities. his banter with yoonho was so cute v_v.... unfortunately his death was a really cool narrative moment RIP KING you will be missed

ma dongwook: i enjoyed his energy hehe. i don't think he's particularly interesting so i don't have much to say. it is fun to see someone taking their previous job/life experience before the gates and that bleeding into how they hunt (i.e. his martial arts)

hwang dongsoo: should have died in a more brutal way. who said that. predictable cartoonish antagonist with not much depth but filled out the role in the story well so whatever. wish he suffered more ngl <3

Some of my Zenos Lives AU notes for post-EW changes:

Ahru manages to drag him back post-duel, she refuses to make her stand by while he goes off and dies again (that first time lowkey wrecked her). They're both laid tf out together, it's a "great" bonding time

They both technically died for a moment there, that was true for Ahru in main-verse anyway (Hyth and Hades tsk at her and shoo her back). Zenos loses his connection with Zero (she's freeee)

He gets to tag along fighting the Twelve it's a lot of fun (I try not to think about this one too much because Deryk WILL derail me emphasis on rail)

He does not get to tag along for Pandaemonium, alas. v_v (Unless I later want to think of a way he can, for his much needed enrichment.)

During void quests they originally only have so many scales ready and he has to wait behind/guard the gate. He's not happy about it but he does it. On the other side of the voidgate things mostly play out the same with the addition that Zero is also not happy to learn he's alive.

It's fun to think that things are simultaneously 'tense' between him and Zero and... not. 'Frigid' might be the right word. Zenos simply does not care, he'll master new power and has no need for what was lost/discarded, Zero is... Zero.

He is NOT allowed to go to Garlemald with them. He has to stay behind in Radz-at-Han.

This means he's there when Rubicante shows up and is the first to pursue him. He has him on the cusp of phase 2 when Ahru shows up and things play out more or less the same as canon.

He has to hang back a lot while negotiations and stuff are handled, but he DOES get to go to the void/moon all of that and help fight the big fights against Golbez and Zeromus.

Going into DT I think Ahru takes an even further backseat during the Rite of Succession, her and Zenos kind of sticking to the fringes and having more of an actual vacation (hunting big beasties and such), but def still present esp for the more important stuff. Estinien'ing it a bit more, you could say.

Do you think Kes' ability to pick up on things so quickly is linked to her being an Ocampa? Like, since she's 2~ years old in canon (and has distinct memories of her father) I imagine her species doesn't spend much time as children and I wouldn't imagine they'd have formal schools (like entire buildings for schooling) and would instead learn from like, primarily parents or other elders. In that case learning things very quickly would be extremely beneficial for their survival. Kes: Oh yes, childhood...what a lovely few days~ Kes was a baby like for a day and then the next day she was up and ready to learn. Kes meets Naomi and every day that passes she becomes more and more amazed that she's still a baby. Wow! It's been like two months and she still can't do anything?? The doctor told her it was normal but wow. What I'm saying is they should have had Kes as a jack-of-all-trades character who could slide into pretty much any of the teams on Voyager. The Doc misses her when she's not in sickbay though!

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? The Other Side of the Moon which is about Kotone (of Persona 3) trapped on the other side of the door her twin brother became, fending off Nyx. The idea was that the Arisato Twins were in SEES together, but when they sacrificed themselves she got shut out on the wrong side of the Sea of Souls keeping Nyx bound and in check, and thus faded out of everyone's cognition. It's about her being forgotten.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? 

oh gosh that's a really interesting question. I have a lot of shorts with happy endings. Maybe The Departure of the Great Returned Soul ? It's a Bunny and Raffles fic that ties in with the Great Ace Attorney, where they do a heist on the request of the mysterious Professor Moriarty. It ends with them gleefully escaping on a steamship together to start a life away from the oppressive English atmosphere after just having robbed the HECK outta Sherlock Holmes.

8. Do you get hate on fics? Only once, when someone jumped down my throat about one of my fics :shrug: Mostly I just get weird spam. Once someone dropped their whole idea of how they thought my xmen fic should be for three huge comments and I was just like 'what'.

9. Do you write smut?  Quite a lot <3

10. Craziest crossover? uhhhhhhh, none written yet but how about this! Pathologic fanfic where Tomoko from Watamote gets isekaied into the Town on Gorkhon to fix it , and she was the only one the fates could pull. She teaches Nina Kaina's ghost what a fujoshi is. I'm planning on writing this one eventually.

Lum convinces everyone to go to space with her as part of her plan to finally get Ataru to understand Oni behavior, only for Shinobu to find out she's not only an alien descendant, but also the last heiress to the kingdom that once prospered on the Moon. Shenanigans, a polycule, and unique Oni sexuality ensue as for once SHINOBU is the one some rando space prince is trying to kidnap to marry.

how do you deal with your younger cat being a playful asshole to your older cat? im in the last leg of cat introductions and my older cat is fine (sort of, but nothing worrying) with seeing my younger cat around the house when i let him out of his room but she gets really pissed when he tries to play with her bc he plays rough and shes not having it. from what ive seen pepper is just very chill so did you just let the salt do whatever?

pepper and salt r actually only about a year or less apart and i introduced them pretty slowly mostly bc salt was quarantined with fleas, they kinda are both playful just at different times? at best i’d say just pick on up and put them somewhere else or personally play with the rowdy one so they get their energy out without bothering the other, pepper starts a lot of fights too but they both only play fight nothing serious ! when salt is bothering pepper too much tho i either pick him up or blow on him (he hates being blown on) and he goes somewhere else, i don’t rlly believe in physical punishment for pets v_v

Again, I'll answer in terms of recent fics and say What Wreckage Remains, which is a Vergo Lives fix it fic.

i'm not exactly sure what's up with glazing/nightshading your art and photos i've heard people on here promoting it but i've also seen some people say it doesn't really work and its's a grifting scheme of some kind. still trying to get to the bottom of it. in the meantime, i made a cohost a few days ago and i've been loving it so far. especially enjoying the lack of ads. it is quite different though since there are no trending tags/popular page so it makes you go find people to follow on your own and find tags to follow. coming from tumblr, it's also refreshing to see that the tags actually work lol. the only downside i've really encountered so far is you can only fit up to 4 photos in a post and all photos have to be under 60 mb i believe. the current work around that is you can embed photos in the rest of your post but i have yet to try that out. hope you're free to try out posting in a day or two!

Yeah, I’ve looked up glaze and nightshade but I don’t think I’m actually gonna use them, just not my thing \_(v_v)_/ I’ve just heard of them.

I’m not really into this type of thing or very savvy on it. I just all of the sudden got a bunch of asks about this stuff, and tried to acknowledge and respond to them best I could.

And that’s good that cohost is nice! I’ve just made one yesterday, so I’ll see how I like it once I try posting! :) Though I do often post a lot of photos at once, so that’ll be something to get used to on there.

good thing yesterday was so peaceful bc today i have a dental appointment and the ongoing issue of my unresolved root canals is Not a conversation i like having. lol.

it sucks because there's two and they cost a fuck-off lot of money unless u get them right away (which i haven't) (and like they still cost a lot of money but Less if you can save the tooth, which was not even a thing i thought you could DO with root canals) and if i'd realized that a year ago i'd have probably asked if it was too late THEN because it's DEFINITELY too late now so the root canals are going to be as expensive as they get and medicaid won't cover the appointments and blah blah blah blah

so we gotta pay it all outta pocket and ~1k per root canal is an extremely steep price we can't easily afford so i'm trying to figure out if there's ANY way to get them done one at a time with like, a 1-3 month gap, and mom's too stressed to talk about it anymore with is 100% fair and once these are done i FINALLY have an opportunity to take really good care of my teeth going forward bc i finally have a brush/paste combination i can actually autistically tolerate and ugh. waugh. money.

i'm HOPING they're still not too urgent bc then i could get one soon™ and hold off on the other and it wouldn't be as huge a blow at once, and i'm gonna ask about payment options/etc too ofc. i've had an emergency root canal before and it was and still is my Most pleasant dental experience (bc dentists always take u serious as fuck when u say ur root canal procedure hurts) so like i'm not afraid to push it that far if that's what's going to be the easiest financially to get through.

and then god willing i never need a root canal again bc i can finally brush my teeth without going into a sensory overload meltdown. v_v
