“Time was nothing. Seconds were days, were years, were the breaths that caught between their mouths and the bite of Neil's fingernails against his palms, the scrape of teeth against his lower lip and the warm slide of a tongue against his.”

I can’t think about pre-Agency Atsushi without bawling my eyes out.
In every single flashback we see Atsushi scared, berated and abused.
There was not a point in his life where he has ever felt safe or loved and cared about. No one cared if Atsushi lived or died.
No one has shown him a shred of kindness for 18 years.
Atsushi wasn’t allowed to own anything. Nothing has ever belonged to him and the one thing that did they tried to take from him anyway.
And he’s so small…he’s so small and frail and sure all the other kids do but he’s so much smaller than them.
He’s the runt of the litter. The one who gets starved on a regular basis and everyone may hate each other but they all hate him together.
You just see him and he’s practically shaking with fear. He’s yelled at for simply existing. Beaten and told well it doesn’t matter because you’ve had worse.
And he knows he’s had worse.
And it’s all Atsushi’s ever known and by some fucking miracle he still clings to life with both hands.
He’s the living embodiment of resilience, of grit and determination because he grew up full of light in a place of darkness.
Atsushi was raised in hell and it cultivated a strong will but it doesn’t change that he was raised in hell.

this Agatha episode was in my opinion, the best of the series. Patti Lupone managed to steal this episode in a way that was emotional and poetic. Her journey makes sense and is complete. This was a woman who lived her life in fear of her power, and in fear of losing time. Ultimately, she was able to put the pieces together in order to save what she always wanted, and be reunited with those she loved. She’s Glinda the Good Witch and she is returning to Oz.

Screaming. Princess Luna is beloved in fandom because she represents the outcasted and the societally rejected. She represented the unorthodox, as the princess of the night in a world that revolves around the day. She represents inner desires and feelings, as the guardian of dreams. She represents being true to yourself even if it’s scary or weird to others. She’s an icon to alienated and demonised minorities.
Even in the show, the parts of her that herself and most of the world considers to be the worst, there is always that one child that connects with it. Just like how we relate and reclaim the idea of monstrosity being cool, ponies too celebrate her in their nightmare night festivals, as a symbol of the unconventional.
If fanon is filled with the rejected and outcasted and misunderstood, for those that find love in what others call cringe, then it makes sense that Luna is a fandom favourite.
#is princess Luna punk? yes??#princess Luna is a queer and neurodivergant icon#it’s like queer people reclaiming sea monsters#like in Luca#all Lunas episodes hit so much#like many villains get redeemed but hers are so good#she’s so traumatised#it’s like she had one melt down and was so traumatised by it she basically emotionally repressed it for the whole series and I’m crying I’m#crying I’m crying#she literally made a monster to punish herself with#like#what the fuck my little pony#wait I’m remembering that#and I’m crying#Istg I’m gonna rewatch all of my little pony again and be so unnormal about it#mlp#mlp Luna#my little pony

ISHA AND VANDER IN ONE SHOT
MIGHT AS WELL HAVE KILLED ME TOO THIS ISNT OK
Vander, for the second time. They got my hopes up. He was gonna come back and be happy and in the same fucking episode HE GETS BLOWN UP.
Isha. She was so young and she was supposed to be happy and she was gonna live and have a good life and die of old age with people who love her and now she’ll never grow up.
Why did I start this stupid show I hate it
And Jinx. My baby. She deserves the world and what does she get? Everyone who she loves dead. I’m not ok.
#to clarify: this is my favourite show and I’m watching it for the first time#I love it#and it makes me sad#and i’m crying#but that’s ok#arcane#arcane season 2#arcane vander#arcane isha#arcane jinx

I’m tearing up reading first-hand accounts of the 1915 Women’s Peace Congress. These women—mothers, sisters, wives—wanted peace so much that hundreds of them, all from different sides of the conflict, joined at the Hague to discuss their stories and empathize and grieve together and bring about a new understanding of the war and its true cost. “Its end was already attained,” wrote Madeleine Doty, “in dispelling the idea of implacable hatred between women of warring countries.” And, said Rosika Schwimmer, “Everyone talks about victory, but we women know; that every victory means the death of thousands of sons of other mothers.”
#and i’m crying#this conference practically did little#it certainly didn’t stop the war#though these women later actually sent delegates to present their arguments to the leaders of the warring countries!#but it brought women together in grief and conflict and they were held together by their similar experiences#man i love history when i learn stuff like this
