It's pretty problematic to suggest that being born from a loveless relationship makes you a psychopath, but what's even more problematic—and deeply irresponsible, and honestly the kind of thing someone who lives in a damn alternate reality would say—is to even imply that the root of a child's evil lies in being conceived through sexual abuse.

Growing up in a home where you were conceived through sexual or physical violence is deeply traumatic. It leaves long-lasting emotional wounds and generational trauma. There are children who end up absolutely shattered because their parents are unable to reconcile the dissonance between loving them and being constantly reminded that their existence is the result of a profoundly painful experience. Some people manage to navigate that better than others. Some suffer tremendously. Even in families where the parent cope relatively well, when the child eventually learns the truth about their conception, the psychological and emotional impact can be devastating.

It takes years of work, therapy, and support to process and survive something like that. These are extremely complex, case-by-case realities. So for JK Rowling to just show up, with her whole bourgeois, pseudo-progressive attitude, clearly having given zero thought to the harmful nonsense that comes out of her mouth when she talks about aspects of her work that mirror real-world, painful, deeply sensitive social issues —and to then claim that Voldemort turned out the way he did because he was conceived without love— honestly, it makes you want to slap some sense into her. That’s not just careless: it’s downright disrespectful.

Voldemort could have ended up that way for any number of reasons i mean you could even say he was born evil because his family was doing some dark ritual and I honestly wouldn't care. But to say he turned out evil because he’s the product of rape? That is unimaginably insensitive and disrespectful. It shows an utter lack of empathy and critical thought.

Let’s be clear: children are not born as homicidal maniacs. And even more importantly, a child is not condemned to be evil or broken because they were conceived through an act of violence. That narrative is not just wrong: it’s dangerously irresponsible.

But hey, we’re talking about a woman who has spent millions of euros trying to legally strip an already marginalized group of their right to exist.
