And now for something completely different.

This is the ADHD Teapot. I made it in a ceramics class a few years ago. I use it to explain executive dysfunction to people who haven’t come across the term before (and those who think of ADHD mostly as Hyperactive Eight Year Old Boy Syndrome).

So, most people’s brains are like a regular shaped teapot with a single spout. Let’s say that your time, energy, focus etc is the liquid you have in the teapot. Your executive function is the spout, that directs the tea into the specific cup you want to fill-aka the task that you’re meant to be doing. Spills happen occasionally, but generally most of the tea goes in the right cup.

If you have executive dysfunction, (a symptom of ADHD, trauma, autism, schizophrenia etc.) you have multiple spouts going in different directions. You can try pointing one of them at your chosen cup and you will probably get some liquid in there, perhaps you will even fill it right up (finish the task). But meanwhile, tea is also pouring out of several other places and not going where you want it. If you have another container nearby, perhaps some of it will end up in there. But quite a lot of it is going to end up on the floor and accomplish nothing.

And at the end of the day you’ll have filled one or two cups ( or sometimes not even one) compared to the five or six that somebody with the same sized teapot (but only one spout) has filled, and everyone wonders why you’re so bad at getting tea poured, and why you make such a mess in the process.

One day I’d like to spend more time learning pottery and create a really technically good fucked up little adhd teapot. But that’s a long way off since i currently live in the outback and the nearest pottery workshop is some 400km away. But I figure that for now, it might be a useful or interesting metaphor to somebody even in its rough draft form.

This post is the cup I filled instead of cleaning my house btw.

Being someone who read Under The Red Hood and came out with the firm belief that, for Jason, it's not about killing Joker, it's about Jason wanting proof Batman would choose him over the Joker (bc shelia chose the joker). Makes seeing any other media where it's all about just wanting the Joker dead is a teeny bit frustrating. to be honest

Jason could've killed the Joker himself, really, really easily. Jason kidnaps the Joker before the confrontation. I can't open my comic for a reference right now, but it felt like he had the Joker for quite a bit before the confrontation. He had him. He beat him up with a crowbar. He had every single opportunity to kill the Joker himself, but he didn't because that wasn't his goal. Make no mistake, he did plan for the Joker to be dead by the end of it, but do you see what im trying to say here

It's not about making Batman kill either. When Batman says he won't kill, Jason adjusts and goes, 'Let ME kill the Joker or kill me to stop me' instead. The test is all about Batman choosing him. The whole final confrontation is Jason's first death again. The parent, The Joker, and the explosives. It even ends with Jason unable to move as a bomb goes off right next to him again because the parent didn't choose Jason. And instead tried finding an option that'd benefit them and (consequencely) letting the Joker walk, again, lol, lmao <-in agony

I saw this post a while ago, where someone pointed out to me, that mike interprets every fight he has with will romantically.

So, I was thinking about this, and yes! He always pushes back harshly “We’re friends. We’re friends!” “It’s not my fault you don’t like girls!” which to me, either means that he knows Will is in love with him, which his reaction would then just be cruel OR there's some feelings there from his side too, and because of his internalised homophobia he deals with it in this way.

Viewing it from the perspective of a closeted gay/bi guy, he feels the need to enforce and emphasize a heteronormative perspective on his relationship with will, while actually he is the one viewing it from a homosexual lens. He feels this need to point out not only his own "straightness" but also Will's presumed straightness. He views and experiences every fight he has with Will romantically, similar to a fight you'd have with a significant other.

This is why the rinkomania fight remains the best byler proof to date because “We’re friends. We’re friends!” didn't make any sense! Because yes mike, obviously... Will was talking about y'alls relationship as friends... This could mean Mike is aware of his feelings for Will but is actively surpressing them. Which can be interpreted in one of two ways to me personally, namely Mike thinks Will is straight and his feelings are unrequited, or maybe Mike is scared of Will reciprocating?

I feel like that's an overlooked perspective, especially considering the time in which the story takes place, the 80s, during the aids crisis. Most bylers tend to assume that Mike isn't aware of Will's feelings, but what if he is? What if he has known this whole time, or maybe since some time before the rain fight? Or atleast prior to season 4?

In this case scenario, what if Mike is scared of his own and Will's feelings. Not only having the fear of whether Will would reciprocate, but also what if Will reciprocates. Maybe, both could be equally scary... Doubts about what if Will is actually straight and he misread the situation, but also being scared that maybe he is gay and they do indeed both like eachother, and where does that leave them...

Mike having grown up in a homophobic small town, growning up hearing and reading about gay people dying, in the tens of thousands, to aids which was often referred to as the "gay plague", the government doing very little to adress the situation, no gay marriage, obviously. The idea that he wouldn't want neither himself, nor Will to be gay doesn't seem far-fetched to me.

So, yeah… the idea that his internalised homophobia (which stems from fear) extends to not only himself, but also the person he's in love with (aka 'he isn't gay because I don't want him to be gay because if he is then I have to face my own feelings) is a perspective I haven't seen many other byler shippers talk about.

TSUM PATTERN!!!

retested it after digitizing to make sure all the seams are in order, and everything's looking fine imo :3 here's a tsum made with this pattern with susato tsum for comparison:

here's the pattern, formatted for A4 size paper :>> guides are for lining the pieces up + ears/limbs placement

if you wanted to be really accurate with printing out the pattern: in my experience, setting the custom scale to 100% in the page setup will get the ruler on the page to be 1:1 with a real life ruler

additionally: if you want the tsum to be as close as possible to official ones, they use non-stretchy fabrics for the underside part of the tsum. i only have minky but ironing on some lightweight fusible before sewing the pieces together made it non-stretchy ^^

it looks to me like they used a very thin faux suede with fusible interfacing for some structure (i could be wrong though as 1) i am not an expert in identifying fabrics and 2) i only took apart klavier tsum and no one else. but everyone else that i own seems to use the same fabric for the underside).

they also have a little bag of filler beads inside that weigh around 14.5g (bag they were in included), and the stuffing was ~8g if you wanna be REALLY accurate. anyway. enjoy!

EDIT: forgot to add that the collar pieces are more of a size/sewing guide so they'd fit onto the tsum in case your character has any clothing with lapels/collars and are meant to be changed according to your design! the smaller piece is the little piece between the face and the underside while the bigger piece is for the "lapels" (so in retrospect i should've named it that but whatever.) here's how they'd look like on the tsums for reference in case i'm not explaining well LOL

anyways here is a list of my personal favorite headcanons:

first off, I hc that he's great with small children or babies, cause he used to take care of his sister when she was very young

He squeezes himself into fuckass crevices or sleeps in trees when he has to camp out and the hunt or mission took longer than he anticipated and there's no inn near (that being said, he would probably kind of suck at making campfires the normal mortal way cause why go through all that effort when you can just blast qi to light up the branches + he never needed to ever since he cultivated a core)

can smoke or grill some banger meat, he sometimes shares it with his disciples and they love it

secretly is a little vain, afterall someone put that braid there and having a long piece of hair dangling in front of ur face isn't very practical for certain situations

probably cuddles with cheng luan, need I say more?

him and his sister look very similar (except for height) so they can usually get away with swapping identities

he looks like he stands on his tiptoes most of the time (based on the eng novel art, Ik that's prolly just for dynamic posing sake but this is such an awkward stance for a normal human being lmfao)

probably autistic, i can feel it in my bones

he can crawl on all fours really efficiently for no reason, sometimes uses this skill to scare/test his disciples

mf is stacked so he often overestimates the monetary value of items, great for the seller, excruciating for whoever was assigned to accompany monitor him

views food as another testament to his physical will, loves spicy food (but also really likes sweets)

Titles, authors, link, and summary all written out - you don't have to click on them to see the summary! Sorted by fandom! Almost 30 different fandoms! Over a hundred fics! Constantly being updated whenever I find more!

As someone who is physically disabled, I spend a lot of time searching for fics centered on disability. They tend to be very difficult to find, only from a few fandoms, and often... not great representation. So, finally, I decided to make a list of them!

The majority are about physical disability. I've done my best to find any focused on intellectual and developmental disability, but there aren't many of those because there just aren't very many of them. There's also quite a few focused on neurodivergence and mental illness, and those are highlighted in light blue. My personal favorites are highlighted in light purple and marked with a star emoji.

 I feel the plot with Muse progressed far too quickly. I HOPE this is not the end and is them starting to lean into his more inhuman elements? IDK. Perhaps wishful thinking... The show seems to have taken on a more cliche, standard serial-killer type role for Muse, as opposed to what I have seen of his personality and such in the comics.

I thought we were getting a long buildup to a really good villain/hero relationship, but they just.... did a really kind of in-your-face information/backstory dump, then that was the end of that and he got killed off.

Very, very disappointing.
