I just read a very funny fic 'Much ado about nothing' by Fire_lily and Violet_20 on AO3 and I was wondering... how do you think Sanji (and by the other guys) would behave when the girls are on their periods?

Okay, yeah, it was really funny. I often think about this, honestly, ngl. And you know how much I tend to write because I'm a menace to society, so I'll try to keep it brief. Btw, assume all the guys here are cis men (which hurts, because I'd rather die than say Usopp, Luffy and Zoro have dicks. But okay. Let's say they do) and that Nami is the only one in her period (because I think Robin is trans and also she has been dealing with pain so much on her own that even if she had her period, the crew wouldn't even notice. Nami, Franky, Jinbe, and Brook would be the only ones knowing).

Chopper is the one explaining what a period is, by the way, because these idiots know the basics but not much and I think they could use some health classes? Like, seriously, it'd be nice.

Luffy: Doesn't understand what the fuck is a period (Makino explained it. His ass didn't listen). If Nami is bleeding, can't Chopper cure her? Oh, he can't? Is she sick? Is she going to die? No? She's fine, then? But she needs them to give her a break because even if she isn't sick, she's still not going through the best time. It's uncomfortable and she feels bad and sensitive. I think Luffy would have a lot of questions and he would ask shamelessly about them. And he would also try to be considerate and share his food with Nami and cause less trouble. I know he's chaotic but he's always really nice when a crewmate is in pain, and if Nami (his navigator. His Nami!!!) is feeling bad, he'll do whatever he can to help her. If she has cramps he'll probably stay beside her and sleep with her and cuddle. He's actually worried sick even if she tells him she's fine.

Zoro: He doesn't really give a fuck. Kuina explained what periods were to him and how unfair it was and he agreed. It is unfair. It is fucked up. They shouldn't go through that. He respects Nami a lot for being able to work and yell and live normally while she's bleeding and cramping (I mean, that's HIS normal state, but Nami isn't like him). So he just supports her from a distance and if she needs anything he'll just try to help and that's it. He's like?? He's normal about it. Just a thing the body does. Everyone thinks it's such a big deal, but it's not.

Usopp: He grew up with Kaya. I don't need to say anything else. He's always complaining about Nami being louder than usual or oversensitive and saying that she doesn't need to blame them for being in pain, but he only says it because they're best friends, lmao. "Girl, I know you're in pain but it's not my fault. Chill. Do you want a chocolate bar?" and he's pretty much the only one allowed to keep her company when she's stressed and too angry to deal with the others. Bestie privileges. He knows how to make her happy. The perks of having a childhood sweetheart and taking care of her when she was on her period (she was just emotional, though, not like Nami who is a ticking time bomb depending on the month). He always has pads, pills, and distractions ready for Nami. He's just there and normal about it and helping her out.

Sanji: Fucking dramatic. I can't stand him. I'm gonna throw bricks at him. I love him, but he's either the most respectful gentleman on earth or the weirdest guy ever about this. He's probably both at the same time. He's SO annoying, oh my god. He keeps wanting to do everything for Nami, and okay, the food, tea, and extra snacks are fine. But it's just too much. He's the one crying all the time like "WHY DID GOD CURSE OUR MELLORINES WITH SUCH PAIN?????????? OH NAMI-SWAN IF I COULD TAKE YOUR SUFFERING I WOULD!!!!!! YOU ARE SO BRAVE FOR THIS!!!!!" and Usopp is the one actually throwing stuff at him and kicking him out of the girl's room when he comes to bring some snacks and won't shut up. He's,, Overly helpful. He has good intentions, really, but Nami is just on her period. She can still move and do her own things, thank you very much. I think he learns to be more normal about it with time, though. And he's just this way with Nami, probably (I say this bc I'm writing a Sanuso fic with Trans Usopp on his period and I swear Sanji is normal about it).

Chopper: I mean. It's the doctor. He keeps an eye on Nami and takes care of her. He's gentle and always tries to bring her painkillers if it's too much. Reminds her to drink a lot of water and eat properly but never too much because she could get sick! He's the cutest, gentlest thing ever.

Franky: Another dramatic man. He's just like Sanji, except that instead of crying because Nami has to go through this, he keeps saying she's SUPEERRRRR COOL AND STRONG FOR DEALING WITH THIS. But it's only for a few seconds and then he's just acting like a dad. Which includes helping if needed but then asking the weirdest questions to see if Nami is alright.

Brook: He would be the sweetest thing ever. But also, we gotta admit that he's still a perv and would ask to see Nami's underwear anyway. But leaving that aside, yeah, he's sweet. He offers tea and gentle music while she works and tries to be a gentleman. He makes a few jokes here and there, Nami hits him, the usual stuff. But he's a sweet grandpa so he's just there being nice. But, y'know, Brook is always nice to be around. He just offers his help more and often asks Nami if she's feeling okay.

Jinbe: He doesn't quite understand what he's supposed to do, but he just doesn't get in Nami's way if she's mad, and if she's sensitive he'll try to make the crew shut up for a while. Gentle older man. He always tries to make peace around the place, but pretty much like Brook and he also tries not to overstep. He asks Zoro if he should be doing something, and Zoro just shrugs and says to let Nami do her own thing.

I feel like now is a good time to share that i think HP has always been a fucking awful, deeply hateful, mean, terribly written book with backwards messaging and horrible moral ideals. Not that every book needs to be morally pure, but considering this is a series marketed for kids and the people that grew up with them, it’s important to include.

Also up to this point if you have continued to actively engage with HP content or somehow still genuinely enjoy HP (despite knowing everything about JK’s involvement in politics and despite there being plenty of great fantasy stories out there worth reading, are better written than HP, and probably do every niche that HP has done better:) i am disordered enough to not care and to say that i genuinely think you are complicit for the UK decision, you have shit taste, i would never trust anything you have to say about media or literature or art as a whole, you have the moral backbone of a nematode, you are an overgrown child, you will never be a queer ally, if you’re queer you’re complicit in the hatred of your fellow queers and you’re a traitor, and i can and will spit at you if we ever cross paths. One again pulling what I wrote on the discord server and putting it here:

Sora and Ivankov are friends (also Sora is trans) and so Ivankov helps Sora and her children escape Germa.

It's a surprise attack, it was supposed to be a secret quick in and out, but they needed to do STH to stop Judge from immediately going after them, so goodbye laboratories. Sora can barely stay up but she manages to get all her children before Ivankov finds her. They don't take them to Baltigo, they meet up at a meeting up first with Dragon.

However, their disguised ship ends up being attacked by Zeff's pirates, and it happens as canon, till they're rescued by Ivankon and they finally go meet Dragon and he's to suggest windmill village, so they take them there. (Zeff stays with them)

It doesn't take them long to meet Makino, she befriends Sora instantly and decides to help them out, Ivankov has treated the kids to try to undo what Judge did, but it obv won't go away that easily, they're a little lost on how to help them be normal-er but they're trying, and Sanji is flourishing as a cook with Zeff and Makino. Theres a lot of kicking on Zeff's part.

Finally, Makino decides that they should have some friends their age, and who better than Luffy and his brothers? So up the mountain they go, Zeff doesn't go with them but Sora does, she and Sanji baked some pastries as a gift.

ASL and 124 obv clash on sight, they end up brawling until Zeff arrives and kicks them all.

Sora decides to regularly go up the mountain, even tho she doesn't really have the strength to do so, but she insists it'll be good for her and her children, and she manages to become Dandan's bestie much to the other woman's chagrin.

ASL adore Sora, Ace specially practically imprinted like a baby duck, it awakens some jealousy in the quadruplets (that's *their* mom after all)

Their rivalry becomes more and more friendly with time.

When Sora ends up bedridden, ASL and Dadan end up going down the mountain to visit regularly

They're very shaken up by Sabo's "death", Yonji is with Dogra when looking for Sabo, meaning, he gets to see the explosion and be extra traumatised by Sabo's "death", later he'll realise Sabo was his first love

And then it'll turn out that Sabo ain't dead uwu

It's the first time they cry.

Sora ends up dying some time after that due to her illness, but time goes on, Ichiji leaves with Ace, then Niji and Yonji also go on their own, and Reiju waits until after Sanji leaves with Luffy

Ichiji is sticking to Ace's ass when he confronts White Beard and later when he goes to look for Teach, he pulls the "We always done everything together" which is technically incorrect but still works because Ace ain't leaving him behind after that

The Alabasta reunion is very cute, Ichiji internally judges Zoro; Luffy, Sanji and the others think Acechiji are already together (they aren't yet) and Sanji denies having any kind of attraction towards Zoro when Ichiji brings out the topic (also Sanji might had once a little crush on Ace, one which Ichiji noticed and won't forget and which might have stopped him from starting a relationship with Ace until Impeldown and Marineford, when he's forced to accept his feelings and maybe do STH about them. Ofc he's unable to hold back after Marineford, and so is Ace, and they end up together but Ichiji still feels guilty because he doesn't know that Sanji got over that years ago and is busy being together with Zoro (they get together after Thrillerbark) so he tries to hide it until Sanji finds out Ichiji apologizes and Sanji is like "what for? I'm happy for you".)

Ace on the other hand is forced by the confrontation with Teach，when his impulsiveness and no-backing-down thing almost cost him Ichiji, but they're both taken and later separated in Impeldown so he can't do much about it.

Ichiji sees Ace's silhouette forming between Akainu's punch and Luffy, he barely has any energy left, and some of his old wounds may have reopened, but he can't simply stand and watch, somehow, he manages to throw himself in Akainu's way, arms hugging both Luffy and Ace, dragging them together. Akainu's punch burns through his arm and onto Ace's back, thankfully, before Akainu can do more damage, Reiju and Sabo finally catch up to them and intervene and drag them away from Akainu's lava.

Ace passes out, his vivrecard keeps shrinking, Luffy is screaming, their siblings pick them up and run away now that they have cover, Ichiji barely manages to catch Ace's vivrecard.

ah yeah, I put Niji and Yonji with Law and Reiju with the revolutionaries, she drags Sabo to rescue Ace and Ichiji

I'm curious as to how your AU Croc identifies, if you are comfortable elobrating. As a trans person, I've been reading him as a trans man. I know most of his kids call him Baba. Did he pick that name for himself? Luffy still calls him mom when he's younger and he seems to not care. I guess they just stems from him being comfortable enough with himself plus it's his own kid. And that bares repeating, he is a kid so he doesn't fully grasp stuff cos he's so wee and unknowing. Also that kid is Luffy so you know -vaugely gesrures-

I see others inquiring about Croc as well and they seem to default to mom and something protective in me jumps out haha.

I guess the TLDR wanting to satiate my curiosity.

It depends on the AU! For the most part as male I'd say!

Caveat: I'm thinking out loud. These things are all subject to change if I feel something else works better. Also, for me gender is a lot about perception and I think the Crocodile in my AUs particularly cares about how he's perceived not so much what his body is like.

In Stinky Child AU I generally go with the idea that he's kind of ambivalent about his gender, especially early on in his relationship with Dragon. By the time he gets unexpectedly pregnant, he's been living as a man for all of his pirate career because that was just... easier, more comfortable. Though when he gets pregnant he tries to over correct how he presents in order to put as much distance between who he is as a pirate (Sir Crocodile) and who he is as a parent. He tries to be more feminine to live up to a role ("mother") he thinks he has to fulfill to keep the baby safe. (We could talk a lot about the figure of the mother in One Piece. If neither Dragon nor Crocodile grew up with a mother but might have an idealized version of motherhood in their heads it might influence what Crocodile could think is necessary to keep his children safe. He might want to give Luffy what neither of his parents had. Dragon probably doesn't think that's necessary but if Croc puts something in his head he gets stubborn about it.)

The only kid that calls him Mom from time to time is Ace, because that's what people around Ace used when they talked about Crocodile. And it doesn't bother Crocodile especially once it's very clear to him that he IS a man. It's not like someone who loves him affectionately or even teasingly calls him "mom" will undo that.

But Luffy refused to call him mom. Instead of Mama it's Baba. And that probably stuck. Eventually Crocodile did stop trying so hard to conform to whatever idea of civilian motherhood he had. And - I think - he did get fully changed by Iva in the Stinky Child AU when the kids were a bit older? But that's also up for discussion.

(Generally, many things are up for discussion :D Most of my AUs are expanded and fleshed out by other people's ideas too, so I keep my mind open.)

(In the Mini-Mingo and Grumpy AU I had that one comic where Luffy and Kite get asked about their mom. They do make the mental connection of "mother = Crocodile" and react to it instead of saying "we have no mother". But I don't think it says much about Crocodile's identity.)

arthur never officially broke up with mary. mans just Left one day without warning. probably left a note that said "sorry. -arthur" on it. i doubt he had it in him to say goodbye to her face or his reasoning for it (he thought hed inevitably hurt her because of what he is and what he did to the people he loved in the past, because bad luck seems to follow him everywhere... oughh he makes me ill). he definitely used finding a new lead on anya somewhere else in the country as a good reason to dip. at least, as good a reason as it couldve been for him.

maybe controversial but i 100% think arthur and magnus had a one-night stand at the beginning of their relationship, before magnus met jerome, and they never talked about it again and pretend it never happened. cannot explain how real this is to me.

ftm chip who 100% innately knew he was a dude since the moment he could think. like when the black rose pirates picked him up, he got confused when they started referring to him as a girl at first. probably never got The Talk from them, so was Very confused when he hit puberty. Reuben reluctantly helped him steal to pay for top surgery.

since tritons live at the bottom of the ocean, they would have eyes that are far more sensitive to light to allow them to see better since little light gets all the way down there. gillion was Immediately blinded by the sun when he surfaced and still gets headaches from how bright it is in the oversea, but they've gotten better the longer he's been up there. tritons are built to adapt to all kinds of conditions, so his eyes have slowly been getting a darker bluish-purple the longer he spends above the ocean; they were originally more of a light blue-grey.

in tandem with the last one, chip thinks hes either going crazy or a bad friend because he Swears gill's eyecolor is different than last week but how could that be possible, thats not just something he can do, right? why would he be able to do that???

if gillion gets knocked onto his back without warning he does that thing that sharks do where they get paralyzed for a bit when they get flipped upside down. its scary because he can see everything but cant do anything. he also definitely forgot to tell chip and jay about this fact and scared the Shit out of them the first time it happened around them.

Ace

Is autistic and has ADHD. Absolutely no idea of social clues or rules in general. Very sensitive to rejection and olphative stim. Loves running around and uses his devil fruit powers for visual stim. Has very frequent violent meltdowns, suffered with ableism violence because of it in both childhood and adulthood. Sarcasm king, though he doesn't actually get it himself. Never makes eye contact. Masks a lot.

Has bipolar disorder. It started after Sabo's death and only gotten worse through the years as he refused to get help. Somedays he'll just not leave his bed and wonder why he exists. However, other days, he is as sparkling as a flame and can't stop running around. Even in depressed days, as very few of them are completely debilitating, he tries to keep up his smile, but it's possible to see there's something wrong.

He is very tall and has very defined muscles, although they are not big (he's kind of thin). Both portuguese and multiracial brazillian ascendence, he has dark skin and freckles all over his body. Has lots of scars, although most of them aren't visible.

Trans and gay. Found out the trans thing after he met Sabo and Luffy and started feeling gender envy. They said they didn't feel like boys, but Ace explained he envied the fact that everyone would think of them as boys just by looking at them. Transitioned when he left Fusha Island, as he felt really scared before to come out to other people. Never had a sexuality question, he likes guys and that's it. Dating Yamato on distance.

Eats almost as much as Luffy, which is quite an accomplishment, and most of it goes to his muscles. If you look just at his torso, you'll get pretty concerned about his health, but his muscles prove that he's just really thin naturally.

Fave colors are orange and red. He puts them in every single piece of stuff he's ever owned.

Doesn't swear around strangers, but does a lot around family and friends. He is, in fact, known between them for being very rude sometimes.

Loves to hug. Hugs literally all the people he sees. He's quite touch starved.

Calls the Straw Hat pirates and the revolutionaries every week. Now, he knows everything about the revolutionary members and their personal stuff (Sabo is quite a gossip girl).

Regularly visits Wano to see Otama. She loves him and is always wanting to talk to him about literally every single detail about her day-to-day life, and he'll always listen to her.

Likes bubblegum pop music (Kate Perry fan) and also really sad japanese songs like "My R" or "Hated by life itself".

Although he doesn't change much on his clothes publically, he absolutely LOVES trying gnc styles in private. Specially likes corsets and make up. As a kid, he pretended he didn't have any interest on it so others could see him as a boy, but he's always liked it (one of the few times being seen as a girl made him happy).

Very scared of abandonment. He hates the thought of being alone, and after Marineford, it intensified as he remembered the feeling of being completely alone while being taken to his execution.

Sings very well, but doesn't show it normally. Very scared of what people might think. He plays some guitar and has composed a few songs, but nobody can know.

Although he is very ashamed of wearing make up, he sometimes shows it to Marco, as he got caught one day trying it and Marco insisted on him not giving up on it cuz hes actually pretty good at it.

Will sometimes shout out loud just cause he can. He likes the sound and the feeling of it and also jump scaring people.

Very protective of lil siblings, can and will bite you (and burn you) if you mess with them.

Sabo

Is autistic and has short term memory loss issues. "Fuck social rules". Hates any kind of touch, it feels icky. Is always moving so he can stim with literally anything he got on his hands, be it a paper clip or a gun. Only drinks milk and only eats plain bread. Masked a lot in childhood, stopped after losing his memory. Has those big bug autism eyes. Eye contact very intense. Has very frequent shutdowns.

Due to the whole "being hit by a canon ball in the head" thing, he is blind and deaf in the left side. Has a big burn scar that covers almost all of the left side on his face/scalp. He also got brain damage, which paralized his left side (he constantly uses his pipe as a cane) and also worsened his thought line, as he is now uncapable of thinking beyond the short term consequences of his actions. He also has hallucinations during hard moments.

Very tall and thin, due to always forgeting to eat (short term memory loss + autism consequence). Has albinism, his hair is very light, almost white, and eyes are a very clear tone of blue. Got big dark circles due to not sleeping well at all.

Nonbinary boy and asexual. They always thought that the whole gender thing was dumb, and even more after meeting Ace and Luffy. After they lost their memory, when they got their gender asked, they'd just answer "no". Found out they were asexual after started a relationship with Koala, as she asked if they wanted to have sex and they said "no, why would I want that? Isn't that a thing people just do to have children?"

Everyone needs to remind him when to eat, or else he'll starve. Absolutely can't feel when his stomach is craving for food. One of the reasons they are so thin, beyond genetics.

Favorite colors are blue and purple. When he introduces himself, it's basically "I'm Sabo. I use he/they. I'm a revolutionary. My favorite colors are blue and purple."

The one who swears the most in the army. Also screams a lot, and they even don't realize it.

Some of the hallucinations include his abusive household. These times, he goes to Dragon for comfort.

Keeps contact with Robin every week. Whenever he calls the straw hats, he asks Luffy to bring her so they can gossip. He now knows everything the straw hats do. He and Luffy bully Ace for being the only one of them that isn't asexual.

Loves goth and punk music, if in modern scenario, would always be with phones on their ear.

Uses punk-style clothes and has lots of piercings through his body (amazing idea from @where-does-the-heart-lie), got some tattoos too.

Is very scared of the dark. He just is. Always needs a little lamp with him so he doesn't stay the whole night awake.

Knew how to play piano as a kid due to his parents. Now, he hates it. Only played ONCE because of a disguise, and everyone who was there still begs for him to play again because he was really good at it, but he refuses.

Will let Koala try some experimental make-up on them, but nobody can touch their hair.

Always waving back and forth so they can keep stimming all the time.

Has killed and will kill for the people he loves. Do not try him.

Uta

Got ADD and BPD. Can't pay attention to shit to save her life, does not give a fuck about rules. Got very complicated familial relationships, and often feels guilty for her swings, even when others reassure her that it's ok. Variates very quicky between mania and depression and often deals with suicidal ideation. These times, she looks for comfort in her family.

Is kind of small, as she is both very thin and and short. Is black and has her hair in locs, dyed half red and half white. Actually wears purple contacts for her shows.

Transfem and bisexual. Found out transness in childhood and sexuality in teen years. Many of her songs are for queer awareness and acceptance. Basically the main reason xenopronouns and xenogender are known globally, as she herself uses she/they/purple/red/cute/song/art.

Has troubles with eating disorders. It was worse when she started her carrier, but it still affects her a lot, one of the reasons she is so small. Can eat more when she is with her family, but it's still way too small. However, she did stop vomit-inducing herself, which is something she reminds and praises herself for everyday.

Their favorite color is purple, but loves pink, too.

Red never swears in public as it might affect reds image, but, in private, does it a lot. And also yells.

Purple has lots of plushies and toys from purples childhood that purple keeps. They help purple on calming down, specially before and after shows.

Is in absolute schock after cute found out cutes dad was in a relationship with Buggy, Crocodile and Mihawk. But at least cute got a friend, Perona, with all of that. They gossip basically everyday and both agree their dads' situation is weird as fuck.

Although song is an idol, song likes all type of music. Songs whole playlist is more than 200 hours long.

Art only likes the clothes art wears in shows, so art keeps wearing them everyday (only changes them for pajamas to sleep).

Gets scared very easily by daily stuff (if you whisper "boo" at her ear she will faint) but can watch all horror movies ever and not feel a thing.

Liked sewing as a kid, but due to losing practice they're now ashamed of it cuz they think it looks bad. Will only repair a few pajamas.

The kind of child to experiment make up on everyone. LITERALLY EVERYONE. And do their hair as a bonus.

Due to being scared when purple first entered the music industry, purple started skin picking as an unhealthy stim, but is now unlearning it and trying to see which healthy stims purple likes the most.

Killed a guy once cuz he talked shit about her bro (Luffy). Don't say anything about him, for your own good.

I've been pretty torn between answering this ask and just doing a deep dive re-analysis post about Marineford as a whole (from Crocodile's perspective) because I feel like rereading it now as a Crocodad Truther, I could probably make a whole lot of new observations and/or read into things differently than I did last time I read it (when I was rereading for the purpose of studying the viability of Crocodad) Like there's so much to say about the whole arc and I'd include this line of thought in there anyways... But also, do I really feel like writing a giant essay like that........

I am going to start this by refering to this mini-essay I wrote like a month ago, about how Crocodile seems to have this attitude of "no crying over spilt milk". What's happened has happened, what's done is done, it's your own fault things turned out the way they did, there's no undoing any of it and you just have to continue on. And I do think that attitude would be key here to understanding Crocodile's actions in Marineford re:Crocodad

(Sidenote because this is not relevant to the rest of the post, but the reason this is about Crocodad and not CrocoUncle etc is because if Crocodile was only loosely related to Luffy it would not have the same kind of impact emotionally (for Crocodile; like there is a difference between a nephew and a son). Additionally a part of Crocodad is that it ties into Crocodile's connection with Ivankov in a really important way. If Crocodile was only loosely related to Luffy, him also being trans would kind of be like a random sidenote without being relevant to the two being family, but suddenly if Crocodile is Luffy's other biological parent, him being trans matters a lot more. Also if he's not Luffy's other dad then we'd be still stuck asking who the fuck birthed Luffy to begin with)

While Sengoku's announcement here would make for a horrific revelation to Crocodile in this situation (a revelation we never see his immidiate reaction to, which continues to be deeply sus), what would it change, really?

The little idiot child who Crocodile had attempted to murder multiple times was his own son. Sure, he might've insantly lost whatever grudge he might've held against Luffy, then what? That feeling would be one-sided, because at this point in the story Luffy hated Crocodile's guts and he knew that too. Luffy has no idea about them being related, and even if Crocodile literally walked up the kid right that second and told him the truth, what would it change? He'd still be the man who nearly nuked a million people off the face of the earth, took over a country and killed Luffy and his friends while laughing about it. Being Luffy's other dad wouldn't make him any less of a horrible asshole (if anything it might make it slightly worse 'cause you get to add shit like "child abandonment" onto his list of crimes).

Luffy came to Marineford to save Ace. Crocodile came to Marineford to kill Whitebeard. He had no reason to interfere with Luffy's quest, and with the help Luffy already was recieving from the prison escapees, the Newkama and the Whitebeard Pirates, what would Crocodile's assistance add to the mix? Would Luffy even welcome him in helping save his brother?

Luffy had his own life, a life Crocodile had not been a part of. He had no right to try to insert himself into it at this point, after all he had done to Luffy. There's no crying over spilled milk. What's done is done, you just have to move on. He should just focus on what he came to do; get his revenge and take Whitebeard's head, as planned.

Deep breaths

...Only to realize that Whitebeard is a dying old man and not worth even killing anymore, because he's not the same Primebeard whom once beat Crocodile and crushed all his dreams. Defeating Whitebeard would not give him the catharsis he came for.

And at that point, the fuck was Crocodile going to do? The revenge he wants isn't there anymore 'cause it went bad a few decades ago. And between the raging war and Doflamingo on his ass it's not like he could just sneak out without anybody noticing. He doesn't have allies (aside from Daz under him) to worry about. He only has his hatred to the World Government.

At that point, he might as well be a nuisance to the Government and assist Luffy. Even if the help wasn't welcomed, even if Luffy hated him and regardless if he knew the truth or not, helping Luffy right then and there would still be better than letting the Government have their way and kill his son right in front of him

Context: SEE HERE - So in this AU, Garp is trans and went kind of wild in his early twenties. He has three options of who Dragon's other dad could be (think Mamma Mia). Also, Garp gave Ace to Dragon to raise in this AU.

I have also been thinking about how Dragon might go about telling Ace about Roger and Rouge. Maybe Dragon has to figure somethings out himself before he can?

I was leaning towards Whitebeard or Rayleigh because I thought those would be the funniest options. Although I do like the theory of Mihawk being Shakky and Rayleigh's kid more.

Dragon: Well I just found out we're half brothers...

I feel like this would be the most awkward option, but still funny none the less.

Shanks the irresponsible drunk uncle that the kids love.

Buggy the uncle that gets beat up by the children, but since he is the more responsible one he babysits more often.

Maybe the kids see Buggy as the cooler uncle because he has a cool devil fruit?

Like Shanks is cool because he just lets them do all the dangerous stuff they want to do while he watches and then saves them when he needs to.

Buggy on the other hand runs a circus and can teach them a bunch of cool tricks properly. And make them fly.
