i think one of my favorite underutilized traits about cassandra is that she canonically talks with a very noticeable mix of slang (and most likely a slight accent). she learned a lot about talking and words from listening to others (predominantly gotham citizens, who talk with a lot of slang and a noticeable accent) AND by listening to crappy romance reality shows on tv. she uses “i dunno” “ya bet!” (or just an over abundance of ‘ya’) outdated slang (like cutie patootie, ‘he was totally hot for me..’ etc)

anyways like. imagine being ambushed by an actual gothic nightmare come to life, it is completely indistinguishable against the awful gotham night, its whole face is concealed, nothing to even indicate it could be human….and then it goes “haha that was totes lame loser” in a horribly exaggerated hollywood-esque voice. like we’re missing out on so much here

Where was the Jinx who straddled Silco and repeatedly stabbed him in the face because she thought he lied to her?

Where was the Jinx who blew enforcers to pieces on the bridge, then stalked through the bloody aftermath, mercilessly picking off survivors one by one while humming a song?

Where was the Jinx who smiled while tormenting Vi by pretending she had Caitlyn's severed head on a platter?

Where was the Jinx who tied Sevika up, hit her, and threatened to cut her other arm off just for an interrogation, then strung her upside down after she got her answer?

Where was the Jinx who smiled like a gleeful child while shooting at people and when told of all the enforcers she killed?

Where was the Jinx who, in rage and grief after losing Silco, fired a Hextech rocket directly at the Council while hearing his voice telling her to let them burn?

Where was the terrifying and threatening force of destruction I fell in love with? She appeared a little in Season 2 Act 1, then never again. Did Baby Yoda give her a personality transplant along with curing her mental illness?

I think it makes sense that Carlisle would have friends from powerful covens. He was able to resist the Volturi's attempts at corrupting him, which was probably somewhat of an embarrassment for them, and they're despised by much of the vampire world.

I know there are lots of people who think Carlisle might have a power after all, and it's to get people to like him. But, again, I think it's more interesting if people just LIKE him. It's not supernatural, he's just that pleasant, which is unusual in the territorial, life-and-death vampire society.

I think about the baseball scene in Twilight, where Laurent apologizes for encroaching on their territory, Carlisle kind of outlines where their borders are and asks them not to hunt nearby. I imagine that's not always how these things go. You'd have to think sometimes it comes to a fight. Not now, obviously, with the 7 Cullen vampires, no one is going to take them on. But in the past when it was just Carlisle and he stumbles on someone else's territory and they're expecting a challenge, or a fight, and he's just like, "Oh, my apologies, I didn't mean to disturb you. I'm Carlisle Cullen," and holds out his hand to shake and the other vampire is like . . . what? It's weird! It disarms them! They aren't expecting it! And then they notice his yellow eyes and he explains he doesn't hunt humans and again they're like what.

There's this perception that Carlisle is The Dad but he had a whole life before 1918. Several whole lives, actually. He kept himself alive for centuries, interacting with humans and vampires, without Edward's mind-reading, without Alice's visions, without Jasper smoothing things over. I originally thought they'd find him preachy and annoying, but now I see it more like he's everyone's gluten-free keto vegan friend. They genuinely like him but also don't understand his lifestyle at all and think its super weird. And they talk about him amongst themselves so then some new vampire meets him and has already heard of him. Like a minor vampire celebrity. "Oh you're that golden-eyed weirdo who only eats chipmunks or whatever? Siobhan told me about you!"

It IS strange that no one was available to help in Eclipse, though. And again, I think this is a function of the books being written out of order. SM already planned to assemble the vampire avengers in Forever/Breaking Dawn so she can't do it in Eclipse. You could maybe argue they didn't have time to go gathering people like they did in BD either but it literally look them like, what, a week? So it could have worked. But Eclipse was about the Edward vs Jacob stuff, the vampire vs werewolf stuff, so enlisting their help was the move.

So yeah, I've come around to thinking it does make sense he has friends. But in my initial read of the books I didn't get that impression, so all the visiting BD vampires felt like they came out of nowhere. I think it would have been cool if they had been mentioned/name dropped in the other books, like Peter and Charlotte were, so in BD it would feel more like, "oh cool we finally get to meet so-and-so!" vs "Who ARE these people?!"
