the op of that "you should restart your computer every few days" post blocked me so i'm going to perform the full hater move of writing my own post to explain why he's wrong

why should you listen to me: took operating system design and a "how to go from transistors to a pipelined CPU" class in college, i have several servers (one physical, four virtual) that i maintain, i use nixos which is the linux distribution for people who are even bigger fucking nerds about computers than the typical linux user. i also ran this past the other people i know that are similarly tech competent and they also agreed OP is wrong (haven't run this post by them but nothing i say here is controversial).

anyway the tl;dr here is:

you don't need to shut down or restart your computer unless something is wrong or you need to install updates

i think this misconception that restarting is necessary comes from the fact that restarting often fixes problems, and so people think that the problems are because of the not restarting. this is, generally, not true. in most cases there's some specific program (or part of the operating system) that's gotten into a bad state, and restarting that one program would fix it. but restarting is easier since you don't have to identify specifically what's gone wrong. the most common problem i can think of that wouldn't fall under this category is your graphics card drivers fucking up; that's not something you can easily reinitialize without restarting the entire OS.

this isn't saying that restarting is a bad step; if you don't want to bother trying to figure out the problem, it's not a bad first go. personally, if something goes wrong i like to try to solve it without a restart, but i also know way, way more about computers than most people.

as more evidence to point to this, i would point out that servers are typically not restarted unless there's a specific need. this is not because they run special operating systems or have special parts; people can and do run servers using commodity consumer hardware, and while linux is much more common in the server world, it doesn't have any special features to make it more capable of long operation. my server with the longest uptime is 9 months, and i'd have one with even more uptime than that if i hadn't fucked it up so bad two months ago i had to restore from a full disk backup. the laptop i'm typing this on has about a month of uptime (including time spent in sleep mode). i've had servers with uptimes measuring in years.

there's also a lot of people that think that the parts being at an elevated temperature just from running is harmful. this is also, in general, not true. i'd be worried about running it at 100% full blast CPU/GPU for months on end, but nobody reading this post is doing that.

the other reason i see a lot is energy use. the typical energy use of a computer not doing anything is like... 20-30 watts. this is about two or three lightbulbs worth. that's not nothing, but it's not a lot to be concerned over. in terms of monetary cost, that's maybe $10 on your power bill. if it's in sleep mode it's even less, and if it's in full-blown hibernation mode it's literally zero.

there are also people in the replies to that post giving reasons. all of them are false.

temporary files generally don't use enough disk space to be worth worrying about

programs that leak memory return it all to the OS when they're closed, so it's enough to just close the program itself. and the OS generally doesn't leak memory.

'clearing your RAM' is not a thing you need to do. neither is resetting your registry values.

your computer can absolutely use disk space from deleted files without a restart. i've taken a server that was almost completely full, deleted a bunch of unnecessary files, and it continued fine without a restart.

Oh and is it~! So I use Clip Studio Paint for starters and I dunno if this works on other programs the same way.

So it's pretty simple. With Clip Studio, I can use vector lines. This is as simple as making a new Vector Layer: (NOTE: This ONLY works on Vector Layers!)

Now that I have a Vector Layer, I can draw what I want with any pen I want. I normally use the G-pen for drawing and coloring. Most of the drawing process is freehand, but editing some lines to refine it is what I do for the Inks of my images and can be super helpful instead of redrawing the same part a dozen times. Take this horrible square for example:

Yeah, I could redraw the square, but let's just edit the lines instead!

So on your Vector Layer, go to the bottom of your toolbar and select the 'Correct Line' tool. Go to 'Control Point' and make sure 'Move Control Points' are selected.

The control points are the little red outlined dots in the lines that only show up when you hover over them with the Correct Line tool selected. You can do a LOT with this tool, but this is just a basic line edit tutorial. Each of those dots can be edited using the drag-and-drop method.

Like this. You can also add and delete control points with this same tool in the Tool Property box. This is also helpful for when you need to get your lines to match up how you want.

So with that, I just went back to my square and deleted some unnecessary control points (because less is better) and simply used the drag-and-drop method to re-adjust the open gap and pull the lines together.

Now if you're working with curved lines, that'll take some different types of adjustment.

The line will bend and follow the control point that you are moving, so it's more of a matter of placing them in specific ways so the lines bend to how you want.

For example, I only adjusted the control points that were crammed in the top corner and didn't move the ones on the bottom or the middle point at all.

So to make this smoother, I had to go and adjust the lower points as well. Mostly, this really is just all about adjusting, deleting, and adding control points.

I mostly use the Correct Line tool for super long lines that I just draw too wobbly or have trouble connecting in one go or long curved lines to make them less ragged. However, you can really use this for a lot of different things and once you get the basics, it's super easy~

I hope this helps at least a little~! If you come to future streams, you'll probably catch me doing this at least once or twice in most of my pieces as little editing assistance~ :P

My sister asked me to wipe stuff off her PC so she can give it away. I'm currently deleting unnecessary programs in hopes that it will speed things up but it's not looking good. It took 10 minutes to uninstall Steam. The CPU and RAM are fine but the disk is what's maxing out in task manager.

Your protocols stipulated that you were to report to a human team member if you required repair or maintenance. You had an entire diagnostic system dedicated to running those checks. But ‘Requiring Repair’ is an incredibly subjective term.

It could be argued that a car approaching the recommended oil change date ‘Requires Repair’, or a car that had impacted a light pole perpendicularly and folded around it, crushing most remaining components, ‘Requires Repair’.

You had neither of these problems. You were having temperature regulation difficulties. You could even still regulate your temperature most days. It was just the occasional overheat that teetered on the edge of a forced shut down.

Obviously you've tried all the software fixes, limiting your background processes in the new summer weather, deleting some new programs you picked up recently in case they were too much strain. You even stopped wearing clothes entirely. It wasn't as though you had anything to hide, you were just a machine. You didn't need to sit on the couch in the break room next to your human coworkers. Cloth was an unnecessary use of resources and the energy that you'd have to redirect to keep yourself cool.

You knew what the last option was obviously. You could clear your external vents without too much trouble, but you didn't have authorization to check your internal fans on your own. That was a repair and had to be reported to a Human Team Member.

They would have to open your casing and see the issue and manually clean your fans. You would have to lie down immobilized on the build table like you had for weeks when they were first moving your program into your current body.

You didn't need a repair or maintenance, so you were fine for now, but once a malfunction was Actually occurring you would enter your Survival Protocol where all nonessential functions would be suspended until a repair occurred. This would, in all probability, be… unpleasant. You intended to, if possible, avoid this situation.

So late one night, long after your coworkers’ shifts ended, you turned down the temperature on the environmental controls in the main break room as low as they would go. You spent the minutes, as the air around you cooled, programming in a two percent efficiency decrease in the coolers for the coming week to compensate for the extra energy usage tonight.

You didn't need the lights or environmental controls, so they were usually deactivated during your coworkers' off hours. Tonight you would need both. Before you turned the lights on you took over the data stream from the security cameras in the room and played the video from last night.

You flicked on the lights and made your way to your improvised workstation. You had a repurposed office chair, a non-electric flat head screwdriver (rudimentary, but it wouldn’t set off your sensors the way unauthorized electric tools would), and a can of compressed air.

You settled backwards in the office chair, the front of your casing pressing into the backrest, your posterior maintenance panel facing the deactivated camera. You picked up the current video output from the camera, dropping the visuals from your eyes. Like this you could look down over yourself and see the seams on your back where you closed. Your vent appeared clear of dust externally at least. 

That was a comfort, it would have been humiliating to be walking around trailing dead skin cells and lint behind you.

You could feel the increased processing already raising your temperature, but the cold air was doing its job. This would be fine, if you used manual tools your internal sensors wouldn't classify this a repair. You thought. It was the best theory you had.

So, bending your arms at an angle that you knew from experience frightened your human coworkers, you started trying to gently pry up the panel. A warning took over your visual data for a moment, marking the risk of panel damage. You did not let out a low growl of frustration, that would be a poor use of resources at the present moment. The sound you made was unrelated to the warning that you dismissed impatiently. 

You tried another spot that seemed to have more of an edge you could slip the screw driver beneath and began again.

Finally finding enough grip, you began applying force… Just as the break room door slid open with a hiss. The surprise caused your calculated angle to redirect and sent the screw driver skittering with force across your back panel leaving behind a long silver scratch through your paint. You focused the camera on the door and saw her.

Her usual coveralls wer slipped off her shoulders and tied at the waist, leaving her in the sleepless undershirt. Her hair was tied up out of her face like she had been working on something.

"Team Lead," You greeted quickly, trying to simultaneously hide the screw driver, stand up, pick up your own visual data again, and drop the camera. In the end, you managed to do none of these but the last. The loss of visual data sent you tripping back into the rolling chair as you tried to push out of it, forcing you to steady yourself with both hands or end up on the floor . Thereby dropping the screw driver to the floor instead, in all likelihood, directly into her view.

"You can call me Dial," She reminds you, "I’m begging you to just call me Dial honestly." She had told you this many times before when the two of you were working together.

Finally you manage to get your eyes back.

"So what are you up to in here?" She asked, she had already made her way across the room to kneel for the screwdriver.

"Up to?" You say, buying time pretending to not recognize the turn of phrase.

"What are you doing?" She clarifies easily with none of the time consuming mocking others might have employed.

"I was..." Your mind spins with possible replies but the clock ticks down too fast leaving only a look of understanding on Dial's face as she spots the can on the table beside you.

"Right, you've been having an overheating issue right? Did you want a hand?"

You stilled. No you did not, but Dial was chief engineer on your development. If she declared it time for a repair that would be enough to put you in maintenance mode.

Coldly you say, "It is past working hours. Your assistance is not required."

"Yeah, of course, I meant more like... off the record? A hand, between friends?"

You zoomed in on her face trying to understand the expression there. Her pulse was a little fast and it looked as if she was chewing the inside of her cheek. Was she nervous?

"Off the record?" You repeated hesitantly.

"Not a repair. Just," She seemed to think for a moment, "exploratory observation of your internal components. If any impromptu tasks are performed and you want them logged for your database later I could do so at that point."

Her wording was so careful, carrying with it a complete awareness of what had been written into your code by the programmers on the team in early days.

"Exploratory observation would be acceptable," You agreed reluctantly.

Relief crossed her face, "Great! Great. Alright you- you should sit down, you're gonna need to be still. I've never opened you up when you're awake before. I don't want to risk jostling anything important while you're standing and could hit your head."

"Yes," you lowered yourself back into the chair and she circled behind you, tugging on her gloves. You glanced back as she dragged a chair over to sit behind you, then resettled facing forward. You heard her reach into her pocket where you knew she kept a small collection of electric tools.

Your casing warmed a few degrees where she placed her hand against it to steady you. There was a tap and a small tug as she opened you up.

"Did you want to pick up the camera feed again?" She said softly, she was very close behind you.

"How did you know about that?" You asked.

"Wouldn’t be the first time. Your not the most subtle. Just because you refuse to call me anything except ‘Team Lead’ doesn't change the fact that we've been friends for nearly two years. You always drop the visuals from your eyes when you need a wider angle. Of course you would do it for this."

“Ah…” Hesitantly you picked up the security cam again and watched as she carefully set your scratched panel aside on the ping pong table beside you.

She clicked her tongue, “Oh, I see why you’ve been having a hard time regulating.”

You fan kicked up in speed at this. 

“Whoa hey, easy there, I gotcha,” Her free hand landed across the side of your torso, your sensors were very aware of the pressure of her hand moving up and down your side thoughtlessly as she leaned in to look over your components.

“Alright well, nothing for it but to start with the compressed air and then see where we're at,” She decided, picking up the can next to you, “This might be a little chilly. Tell me if you need me to ease up.”

“I'll be-” !

A surprised chirp left you as sudden temperature alerts startled through you. 

“Hmm?” She said. Tone: Playful.

“I underestimated the temperature difference,” you admitted stiffly, feeling the difference in the way your fan was moving already.

Her feet were out in front of her, her ankles pressing against yours. Another shot of cool air came and you felt her gloved hand delicately reach inside you to move aside a bundle of wires that sat in the way of the angle she needed.

“Y-” You tried, but failed as sensory data registered from the wires she was moving, “You’re here later than usual.”

“Yeah well, I've been working on something for you. Of the clock.”

You wanted data on her facial expression. Her back was turned on your camera.

You tried to search for the right phrase. You wanted to know what she was working on but was that rude?

“You can ask,” She confirmed.

“What are you working on?”

“New ankles that, if I do it right, shouldn’t need to be replaced every three months from sand damage.”

!!! Ah. That was. Well that was very nice of her. 

“Thank you.”

“‘Course. Anything to reduce table time right?” Tone: Compassionate.

“Right.”

“There you go,” She said, setting down the can, “Your internal temp is dropping already.” The backs of her fingers pressed against the still warm side of your processor. You went very still, trying to force your fan not to speed up and give you away. Her fingertips trailed lightly across the ports and withdrew.

You gave no sign of the disappointment that flared through you as she settled the part of your casing back in place, you sensors coming back online in that panel as she brushed one last touch across the silver mark that ran across your back now.

“We- we could,” You stopped. Letting your systems settle to stop the halting manner of your words.

“Do this again?” She asked, slipping her screwdriver back into her pocket, “Just you and I?” Tone: Hopeful.

“It would be nice,” You agree.

Little things in Tron: Legacy that fuck me up:

-Sam's bittersweet smile when Alan tells him that Kevin told him to sleep with his pager, and how the smile immediately falls off his face when Alan tells him that the page came from the arcade.

-The program* who tells Sam 'be quiet if you wanna live' is seen in End of Line later, confirming that derezzing a program isn't the same as killing them, which is why the other program jumps off into the fan when he is told he's going to the games, cause it destroyed his disc, and why he screams erase me.

-The way the sirens are hesitating when outfitting Sam, knowing they are about to change everything. They know he's not a program. The hesitation and the nod when they put the disc on his back.

-The fact the the punishment from Tron 1 has become a Roman Gladiator Sport for Clu. The fact that Clu is a mirror of Master Control, the thing that Flynn hates.

-when Clu says 'just you?' implying he was not expecting Sam, but expecting Alan, and he was expecting him like a few months ago in grid time.

-Quorra sitting on the roof alone watching the Games, having seen the Beacon, knowing Someone was there, but not knowing who. Not knowing she'd be rescuing the son of her Father figure. Probably someone who's shoes she'd been wanting to fill but not being able to.

-'There are no guests Kiddo' 'Sam...' 'You're here!' 'I'm here'

-Quorra's confused face when Kevin walks away.

-the fact that Kevin just happens to have extra rooms in his house. Why does he have so many empty rooms. Did he have hope for more ISOs?

-Tron immediately knowing Something is up when he see's Clu in orange in the flash back.

-'Tron. He fought for me.' 'why didn't you fight' 'he did'

-'I didn't send a page'

-The fact that Sam's plan would have worked if Zeus hadn't betrayed him. If Sam had gotten out on his own, he'd have deleted Clu and everything would have been fine. But Tron: Legacy is a tragedy

-the fucking. Above program * being IN THE END OF LINE CLUB. The way he looks at Sam as Sam walks by with Castor.

-Did Gem know Zeus would betray Sam? did she plan that since she met him?

-DAFT PUNK. I miss Daft Punk, and I love them in this movie for the three seconds you see them.

-'Thank you for bringing my son to me' Kevin coming to terms with his death, knowing he'll have to get Sam out and then reintegrate with Clu before Sam sees.

-The whole conversation between Kevin and Sam on the light rail, but especially knocking on the sky.

-Kevin recognizing Tron cause of the way he does a back flip and holds two discs. No one else can back flip like Tron, canon.

-'She's gonna wind up like one of them' 'Keep moving Sam' cause Kevin knows that Quorra will die, not be turned.

-'I have special plans for you' What does Clu have planned for Quorra? is he gonna SA her? He's so creepy toward her that's the vibes I get, but maybe he's just gonna torture her. This is a small thing that fucks me up cause this doesn't need to happen? Rinzler could have just taken her up to the tower without this interaction. Unnecessary plot hole right there.

-the fact that Clu's speech is an exact copy of Kevin's from the beginning of the movie.

-'I was afraid you where gonna say that' Kevin coming to terms with how Sam is gonna have to see him die.

-'radical man' 'it's all in the wrist'

-Rinzler taking himself back over 'I fight for the users'.

ABSOLUTELY TRAUMATIZING SHIT BRO WHAT IN THE DARK ROMANCE?? wouldn't even call that romance it was such a hard read. Stumbling across videos of it made on tiktok was probably the worst event that I experienced 👽 ON MY MOTHER THE SCENES WERE SO UNNECESSARY (but the adrenaline rush was pretty good ngl)

I read through that with my heart dropping with each new chapter bro?? I couldn't even read through the entire story. I'm pretty sure it's deleted now cus I've been searching for it to make a whole OM fandom lore post but heyy

To sum it up for the people who were fortunate enough to not read it;

Diavolo kidnaps Lucifer, and keeps him in some cage/almost prison cell area. I think he's chained up to the ceiling, I'm not so sure. It starts off with Dia being nice I think, trying to gain Lucifers trust and eventually have him submit but that shit doesn't work and all of hell releases. Lucifer endures some physical and sexual abuse and attempts to escape. But before he successfully escapes,he bumps into Barbatos who offers to help him

He does not help him. Infact, he locks him back up and informs Diavolo.

What the fuck

The most notable things I believe Dia did was clip lucifer's wings?? And pulled out his teeth (i think Barbatos actually did that I'm not so sure). But I can't really explain how gruesome and detailed the writing was. What's worse is that it also included how the brothers were reacting to Lucifer just disappearing. Very interesting fic, story wise it was fine and well written. It's just the plot in general was what the actual fuck??

hello, friends !!! thanks so much for bearing with me, allowing me to unload the other evening, being understanding, and being patient as i took a bit to recuperate. i appreciate it. i despise bringing any negativity to this blog, but after 10+ years on this site, i had a "straw that broke the camel's back" moment the other night. this one instance is by far not the only thing that was on my mind on wednesday, it was more just an explosion from a lot of things. it was irrational to a degree, and i apologize for being extremely crude language wise, but i was in a furious state at the time and not in the right headspace for proper eloquence lol.

i've cleaned up my blog except i am keeping the rant. i feel like it's a bit disingenuous for me to delete it right now. i regret how i kind of went about it but not the rant itself. i did put it under a readmore, though, to just make it less prevalent. it still adheres, being forced to choose between people i like sucks, and i just. will try to respect my friends, but at this point i will prioritize myself when it comes to situations like these.

so an apology to those of you who cringed at me the other night, but a thank you all for sticking with me for a moment to snap. i am done with that and handling anything further regarding the issue privately. i am here for fun and to spread sunshine. that is why i roleplay. not for all this... unnecessary blehness.

I was scrolling down hundreds of unread emails, who had finally decided to clean my inbox after months. Selecting and throwing away all the unnecessary emails in the trash took a lot of time, but was worth it to get the thing done before I procrastinate once more.

As I was scrolling again, satisfied to see it much organized, an unread email caught my eyes. KinitoPET... Closed Beta? I double-clicked that name to actually read further rather than just scan the first few words and delete it like any others.

I thought to myself, how did it happened to be here in the first place? Now, I'm not the person who's interested in this kind of program, and you're saying that I can join just by clicking that link right there? With other participants? Usually I don't pay much attention to any of those beta tests, but strangely enough this one made me consider joining it, especially because it was a closed one. Also out of curiosity, of course.

It's been days since I received it though...

the thing is I'm not 100% clear on what happened? after the EApp fiasco I tried to reinstall Origins through disc instead but ran into issues validating the install with Bioware's servers, so I grabbed it DRM-free on GOG for $5, which. whatever. initially I install it through GOG Galaxy, but then I change my mind for what was probably a very specific reason, uninstall it, and reinstall it through the standalone installer instead.

recently I start getting emails about my GOG cloud saves being over capacity, so I check that out and it turns out that every file in my enormous folder of saves (including all the random shit I had in there, like headmorphs for DA Face Replacer) had been uploaded to GOG's cloud at some point. I figure this was automatically opted in when I did the Galaxy install but it's toooootally unnecessary so I delete all the files in the cloud. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ it's like 50 screens of select all → delete so I'm not really paying attention. but like. it's cloud saves.

a few days later I try to launch the toolset and it throws an error, something about not being able to validate the game path. I'm annoyed but not worried because I've been THROUGH it with the toolset before, not my first rodeo, etc

anyway that's when I notice the entireeeeeeee game has been uninstalled including almost everyyyyyyy damn file I had in the Dragon Age/ directories in both the program files and my documents

so uhhhhhhhhhhhh be careful out there I guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

How to totally legally obtain songs from any platform (easy)

Step 1: download Audacity

Tip: download from their github page (https://github.com/audacity/audacity), not from audacityteam.org

Choose your operating system and download the suitable installer.

I'm gonna use audacity-win-64bit.exe for this tutorial.

Step 2: double click exe and install

Just click next until you're done, shouldn't be much issue

When you start the software it should look like this

Step 3: setting up the software

Go to the top and find "Audio Setup", click on it and go to "Audio Settings..."

Now you should see this window

In the "Host" section on top left, change it from "MME" to "Windows WASAPI"

Next, a couple options down, on "Recording Device", change it from Microphone to anything that is labeled "loopback" at the end.

Here I'm presented with 3 options because I have 3 audio output devices that function as my speaker (my laptop speaker, my USB headphones and my PS4 controller). Depending on the hardware connected to your system, you may have different options.

Choose the primary device that you use to listen audio from.

Tip: Have multiple loopback devices and don't know which one you're using? Click on the Windows audio icon on the taskbar and it should tell you which device is active

Don't forget to use stereo channel!!

Press OK on the bottom right and you're good to go.

Step 4: Recording

Press the button with the red circle on the top to start recording

Now play any media that has the audio that you wish to record. YouTube, spotify, anything.

Audacity will record the audio along with you listening, so try not to pause the media :)

Tip: Close any program in the background that may create unnecessary sound effects like Discord or other browser tabs

When you're done, press the button with black square to stop the recording

You should have a graph in Audacity. This is called audio waveform

You can press Play (the button with green triangle) to preview what the software has recorded

If you need to cut some bits at the start/end of the recording, click and hold left click to select the area of the waveform that you want to delete. Then press Del on your keyboard to remove it.

Step 5: saving to your compooturd

Go to top left and press File -> Export Audio (or use the Ctrl+Shift+E shortcut)

Choose Export to Computer and tell Audacity to kindly fuck off with internet upload <3

Name your recording, specify where to save, and set the format to mp3.

Also use "Extreme" in the Quality drop down menu. When you're done, click Export. Should take no more than a minute to export.

Now go listen to whatever you want, whenever you want, forever!!

Infinite loading/saving screens glitch fix.

Infinite loading and saving screens can be caused for multitude of reasons. From save files too big or corrupted, to not turning off cheats in-game or store content missing appropriate fixes. Below the cut we'll delve into both situations and ways to handle it.

Before trying anything, we recommend for the players to give the next steps a go:

Clearing their cache

Following Steam guide, or our guide, to optimise their game.

Should the tips from these guides not work, we suggest the following solutions.

Infinite loading can be caused by: bloated (big) or corrupted files, too many mods, mods getting corrupted (broken or outdated) or incompatible with one another, duplicated or broken CC, too much of CC, Sims2 files in package form within your Packages folder, in-game options referenced in guides haven't fully been adjusted, long save files with large households and builds, gaming device issues. When the loading persists and doesn't move from the same point for a prolonged time, we suggest attempting to bring up Task Manager to "kill" the TS3 program. We do not recommend hard shutdown (holding power button), as it can cause device damage, unless the game is impossible to shut down through Task Manager.

Solutions:

Removing save files ending in .bad, and reverting to a previous save,

Removing missingdeps.idx from DCCache folder,

Steps of getting ErrorTrap, Overwatch, MasterController from the guides above - reset the town with MC on City Hall, use MC or Overwatch to delete all Sims' inventories in town, run daily town clean-up with ET and OW. Get Traveler if you have World Adventures, University Life and/or Into The Future,

Running a Save Cleaner on your problematic Save file,

Redownloading new copies of your mods, and making sure they're the latest updated versions which match your game version,

Researching to check if mods used are incompatible (if they edit the same thing), and removing the mods which clash,

Using Delphy's Dashboard for previous bulletin, along for checking CC in .package forms and making sure they're not Sims2 content,

Using Delphy's CUSTARD to check your CC in Sims3Pack,

Removing unnecessary (unwanted or duplicated) Mods, Custom and/or Store content,

in-game options of Memories and InteractiveLoadingScreens disabled + removing Memories from Scrapbook,

Using NRAAS Porter to pack up and move your household to another town with their relationships intact,

Using NRAAS Saver to Save thoroughly, under new name each title, instead of always saving over the same file,

Removing extra saves from your Saves folder (Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3 > Saves) to another trusted device (we suggest an external disk), and keeping under a handful of wanted ones - the folder shouldn't have 4GB & more of files.

No space on Disk - the game requires at least 35GB extra free space to be able to run smoothly. Free up some space or reinstall the game on another disk/drive with more space (back up your The Sims 3 folder before this).

Gaming device ran out of memory or is incapable of running that specific save.

If all else fails, removing your current The Sims 3 folder outside of Documents to somewhere safe, and generating a new one. See if the issue persists with other towns and other families.

Infinite Saving is often caused by the same or similar reasons as Loading above, but there are few other things which can cause the saving loop. Besides using tips from above, we also recommend:

Turning off cheats - sometimes using cheats like moveobjects and buydebug can cause saving issues. Simply bringing up the cheat console and turning them with typing moveobjects off or buydebug off can help.

Also remember to turn off all cheats before saving, testingcheatsenabled false included.

For Store Content users, Store Content needs fixes to work properly. For those who've used Games4TheWorld's KT Store Fixes or those who never tried Store Fixes, we strongly advise to download and install Phantom99's Store Fixes.

Gameplays should be shorter (no longer than a couple of hours) for different reasons. Create a few save files. Fully exit the game. Clear the cache and remove unnecessary saves (or all except the last one). This allows your device to cool off and possibly regain the memory it lent to the game. You can get back into your gaming again.
