i think the biggest bait and run killer in this PF is the 3rd non FUA cacophony (not used in here. Curiously. tried it Once learnt my lesson instantly) bc like. its just bad. that 18% is a Lie you Wont be getting the whimsicality procs enough. youre much better off just forcing any FUA unit u can (like. if no aventurine go march w clara or sth) and using examination to speed up ur whimsicality proc. like was kafka doing much on 2nd half other than a few breaks and ults and most importantly one more FUA source? nope. but the consistent FUAs are what carried the run lmao

(unironically think that kafka breaking some of the enemies mightve been causing more harm than good tho 💀💀 since it delayed how often theyre attacking clara and the team for her and avens FUAs lmao. but oh well)

obviously aventurines being favored massively here and its hard to say what my clear would be looking like without him bc. the enemies are getting really fucking tanky now unfortunately. at least the whimsicality is op and theres the trusty fire/ice side but its still kinda rough.

although i Have heard that the whimsicality is so strong this time with the FUAs that when combined with the new tankier elites even ST units like ratio and topaz can brute force??? so maybe thats a saving grace. still a shame PF is going in this tanky direction tho like. this continues its just gonna be MoC 2 with Slightly More AoE 🙄🙄 at least herta still carries for now

Amphoreus characters and how much I regret skipping each of them bc I'm bored this Sunday~

3.0 - Aglaea: regretted it quite a bit at first. Aglaea was the one character I wanted to pull for from the beginning, she was supposed to be my only Remebrance character until Fate but a lot of things happened and I ended up switching her for The Herta. The things that happened in question: she was an insanely premium, non-F2P friendly character, I did own Sunday for her but she would still need her E1 or LC to work the way she should and the relics I kept getting for her were absolute dogshit. Her element being lightning made her not the best choice either between her and Therta as I already own Acheron and she's miles better, then there's also the fact that I did not own a single Ice DPS. So yeah, I also had awesome relics to build Therta and she looked like she would last a lot more in meta, so the rest is history. I don't regret my decision at all now, as Therta has been carrying me all this time and she ended up being definitely the stronger one of the two.

3.1 - Tribbie: mmm lowkey? just a little bit but not much, she's super fun to play and gives very strong buffs, but I am not a fan of chibi characters and I'll always prefer using my precious Halovian Siblings over anyone. The bad thing about skipping Tribbie really is the fact that she's the most meta character right now for almost if not all the Amphoreus characters, but since I've skipped them all anyway it's not that big of a deal, like I don't feel like my account has been bricked or anything. She's powerful, but I'm fine skipping her.

3.1 - Mydei: yes lowkey too, same as Tribbie. I don't like the fact that his gameplay is Auto but he's super strong and I actually loved the character so it feels way more personal, having to let him go and all. Still, I'm not sure I would pull for him on a rerun...? maybe if he had been an Erudition character I would, but right now I'm full on copium waiting for Screwllum to eventually drop and take his place tbh. If I was able to let go of JY and IL every single time, I can live without Mydei too.

3.2 - Castorice: SORRY CASTORICE but... no, not really. I like her but I expected to like her more, her dragon is cool but the gameplay feels boring to me (unpopular opinion, I know), and at the end of the day I would only want her for her Global Passive and that's it. In fact I did pull for her just for that, and I lost the 50/50 to Seele which made me happier than getting her and that says a lot. I don't regret skipping her, but I might consider grabbing her on her rerun for that Passive, not gonna lie... it's too broken, man, I am not immune to having an advantage on my account.

3.2 - Anaxa: yes I regret it a lot actually, finally we get one character who I truly regret in this list. Loved the character and his mad scientist vibe, Stephen Fu killed it with his performance, he's fun to play and can implant all weaknesses which is crazy? works both as a Therta battery and as an Hypercarry, in which he's insanely strong like this character is ridiculous. So yeah, he's really cool and I'm really sad. Will grab him on his rerun if I can, for sure.

3.3 - Hyacine: she's so adorable and Fat Fuck is cute too, but no, I don't regret skipping her. She's made to be supporting very specific characters that I don't own anyway, so really it would be a luxury pull if anything. The only reason why I would pull for her is because my poor Gallagher can't do all the healing alone, but as long as this game doesn't demand 3 teams in end-game, I'm fine with it. If it comes to that, well... then we'll talk, but for now I'm not considering her at all.

3.3 Cipher: I don't regret skipping her either, looks like she'll just be another good option for Acheron / Ratio teams and I'm fine with the teammates I own now. Had she been a major upgrade for them then yeah I might have regretted it, but for what I've seen I can live without her. Also, I feel like I've already invested too much on these teams and I'm tired of doing it tbh, as much as I love them there's so much I can do. This is as far as I go.

Okay that's it :3 now we're entering an era where I won't be skipping Amphoreus characters anymore as I'll be pulling for both Phainon and Cerydra! Finally, war is over... I can't wait to get them, skipping characters can be such a pain, especially since I was used to have so many from Penacony... I went from 100 to 0 and it's very, VERY boring. Just a little bit more of patience...

As someone that doesn't play hsr, but loves that characters (March). please!! Please, what's happening, I need to know!! Please 🙏🙏 on my knees rn 🙏🙏

Ok just to cover my bases bc idk how much March lore you know, March 7th was originally discovered by the Express drifting through space encased in six-phased ice. Usually this ice is impossible to melt, but it started to melt away immediately after she was pulled into the Express. March can create this ice on her own, and always insists it's not actually ice but a form of crystal. At one point she makes note that shaping memoria (substance that acts as a vessel for memory) feels a lot like shaping her ice.

In a later character quest March tries to use the Xianzhou's divination abilities to recollect her past, but was stopped at every point by a member of the Garden of Recollection, a faction of Remembrance. They do not want her recalling her memories, telling her it's for her own good.

And now to the present, the Express has traveled to an isolated planet, Amphoreus, that's a complete unknown to nearly everyone. The Astral Express has never journeyed there, Herta has never heard of it before, and the only reason we even know it exists is because the Garden of Recollection caught a glimpse of it.

Currently the fate of Amphoreus is tangled up in 3 Paths, Remembrance, Erudition, and some third path most are theorizing is Enigmata. Black Swan (member of the Garden) asked the crew to travel to Amphoreus in order to help it sort out it's fate.

Originally, Stelle, Dan Heng, and March were meant to land on the planet, but right as they arrived March came down with some unknown illness. Before we left she just seemed under the weather, and Black Swan volunteered to look after her while Stelle and Dan Heng continued down to the planet. And, well, one story quest later Black Swan is nowhere to be seen and March is being covered in her six-phased ice.

There's a lot of speculation about how March factors into the stuff going on in Amphoreus. At one point, our party is talking to one of Amphoreus's gods, Oronyx, who refuses to cooperate until Stelle pulls out March's camera and takes a picture. Oronyx starts saying "mother....mother..." and soon after that Stelle receives a glance from The Remembrance. Plus there's Cyrene and Mem, who are obviously the same person and who I wholeheartedly believe are connected to March in some way.

Black Swan is also incredibly suspicious and always has been around March. During this patch we finally got the outfit March wore all the way back in 1.4, and this is the message we received with it:

"Glacially beautiful," huh?

There's also this. One of the hidden characters from Amphoreus > March's splash art.

It's literally the first quest out of the 8 we're getting, so we don't really know exactly what's happening to her and could very likely not know for a while. But we do know that March is Important for this storyline and something is fucking Happening to her.

I don’t think it’s much of a spoiler to say that Acheron is an Emanator of Nihility. I also believe that Jing Yuan is said to be an Emanator of the Hunt bc he’s a Arbiter-General. People have theorized that Sampo is an Emanator of Elation and March is an Emanator of Remembrace (though I personally like the March is Idrila theory).

the only problem is that Herta, canonically an Emanator of Erudition, gets a score of 4. But maybe that can be chalked up to how the Herta we play as isn’t her actual body.

definitely fugue 100%. she's awesome. she's cool. she's awesome. she has tails. and i love her. and basically she's awesome. also she gets to make my firefly murder things even harder.

im not pulling for sunday bc i think he's a dweeb. i did nab his lc though bc someone will want that im sure. the herta is cool but im not that hype for her bc erudition characters spurn me at every chance they get. and im more excited for amphoreus in general than i am aglaea specifically, but that may change when the new story starts

ok i wanted to write like. a detailed amphoreus post with references and all but i quite literally have zero time for that and will probably not be able to do it in the foreseeable future either that's what you get when you have a full-time job plus an exam coming up so here are some of my thoughts, partly as a note for myself to look back on once we reach the end of this story to see if i managed to figure out anything or completely missed the mark. i wouldn't call them theories, they really are just thoughts and ideas.

contains spoilers up to and including patch 3.1 (main quest, side quests, and some readables).

does NOT CONTAIN LEAKS bc i hate those.

amphoreus is likely 1) a world that was destroyed long ago and was preserved by the remembrance, either as a memory-world or with the help of nous as a simulation, or 2) it never existed in the first place and has always been a simulation. i can even imagine a mix of these (for example it's based on the memories of a world that once existed, but not every memory related to it could be recovered so the rest was "calculated", similarly to how oronyx's power works) and i wouldn't rule out the possibility of a timeloop either where it constantly replays the history of the world's destruction, but with our arrival there is a chance to, quite literally, rewrite the ending/give it a new one.

in any case, it's certainly not an ordinary world, see: the involvement of three paths; the fact that there is virtually no information about it out there, save for what we learned from black swan (which is next to nothing) and what herta managed to collect from the SU (which is... interesting); or the whole allegory of the cave thing they keep bringin up

we know both the remembrance and the erudition are involved. as for the third path, my original guess was the destruction, but i saw some people mention the finality and tbh that would make sense too.

we also know that the goal of fuli is to preserve the memories of the universe and to "prepare for the rebirth after the destruction", and, consequently, their followers, the garden of recollection also want to “make sure the universe is remembered in the face of the Destruction”, they even managed to preserve at least one world we know of, and plan for it to be reborn in the "pristine land of Remembrance", so who says amphoreus can't be a similar case?

speaking of the garden of recollection, despite what she says, i highly doubt black swan's only goal here is to collect memories. what her real/other motive could be i don't know, but i'm fairly certain she knows at least a bit more than what she's letting on.

despite what everyone claims, amphoreus does seem to have had some kind of contact with the outside world before, so if it really is a destroyed world preserved by the remembrance, there should be at least some mention of it out there (more direct than what herta managed to find). that is unless it's 1) such an ancient civilization and/or had so little outside contact that those who remembered and the historical records perished with time, or its history was never really preserved/was (partially) attributed to other lost worlds, or 2) someone or something, likely fuli or one of their emanators, managed to seal every memory related to amphoreus, and (the replica of) it was deliberately hidden. i mean, in as i've written they literally refer to the chrysos heirs' stories as "those forgotten stories..." so...

there is a readable titled anecdotes of a numerophile which talks about how some people believed there was a higher being behind the titans, controlling them, a "machine with divinity". some assume this to be a thirteenth titan, "one that is indescribable by either language or numbers and beyond human comprehension. (...) an unknowable "One True God" Thirteenth Titan that grants the world chaos, from which order emerges." this 13th "titan" could either be an aeon (dan heng does speculate that the titans might be related to one), some supercomputer like the one mentioned in the occurence those remembered i-iii more on this later (nous technically covers both), or an "actual" titan, in which case it could very well have a connection to mem, who is more than likely (a part of) cyrene.

as for the flame reaver, they are most likely a version/part of phainon. either 1) the phainon that failed and is now willing to do anything to succeed kevin who, or 2) the phainon that succeeded but the price was too great to pay/the era nova wasn't what they thought it would be so now tries a different approach though i think this is less likely, or even 3) that not-so-perfect part of him, his dark side, since his "perfect vessel" state is constantly emphasized. i have more thoughts regarding phainon (and the flame reaver) but this post is long enough already. i might will probably write a separate post for him once i have a bit more time.

now back to the titans, we've been told that they're there to uphold the order of the world, quite literally, since once their coreflame is taken, a chrysos heir must take their place until the miracle of genesis comes, otherwise "the entire world will collapse before the prophecy comes true". they also prevent the people of amphoreus from venturing beyond the skies, or even questioning what lies there, while it seems like even they don't know what's beyond amphoreus. one more interesting thing is from beyond the veil, where according to the author the evernight veil is "the boundary that divides the sanity of mortals and the divine power of the Titans. I have begun to doubt my existence. (...) We believe that we are observing destiny, but perhaps we are the ones being observed... It is Oronyx that is observing us ridiculous mortals! (...) You should not investigate the divine power of the Titans, and their divine power cannot be observed". this further points at the titans having been created by some higher being.

i think oronyx deserves to be discussed separately. for one, they (and their kin/priests) "collect many eroded memories to prevent them from being forgotten". who else does this? that's right, fuli. then, during their interaction with the TB, after fuli's glance oronyx says "I've finally found it... Precious memory. At long last... I've caught THEIR gaze. Accompany him, Mem... He will make the memories of this world complete once again... He will find... Mother..." so in my understanding oronyx seems to be aware of fuli, and even wanted to draw their attention. they do seem to be taking on a role similar to THEM, so it's pausible they were created in THEIR image. (sorry about this sentence) as for who this "Mother" could be, since oronyx is not talking about mem here and they react this way when the TB takes out the camera, it seems likely they're referring to march.

before moving on to her, i also wanted to name the prophecy here briefly. when talking to tribios, oronyx calls it a "false prophecy" and this isn't the only time someone warns us about it. in another interesting readable, destiny weaver's missives (parts of which have "become illegible, either due to the passage of time or someone deliberately erasing them"), it's mentioned that the ancient prophecy texts are being altered. i'm actually just going to put two screenshots here because otherwise i would just copy this entire part:

this raises more questions than it answers. what word was there instead of "returning" in the original texts? i'm always unsure if the number of squares match the number of letters or not, but if they do then my only idea here is "regress". and who or what is the one whose records are vanishing? probably that certain thirteenth titan. "as though time itself is erasing that part of history" - it could be the remembrance behind it, but what reason would they have to do this? unless it's connected to march, who was for some reason removed from amphoreus, i don't really see the point based on the information we have. it was also mentioned earlier that the "threads of destiny are being corroded by an unseen force" which is likely the black tide so that could also be the reason behind the disappearance of the records. herrscher of corruption parallels? in the appendix, the number of black squares match the number of letters of "the twelve heirs" which would match the context. and we have another warning about not trusting the prophecies, since "fate has been altered" by whom/what? and the "truth has long been..." what? hidden? forgotten? or rewritten maybe? the last few lines are also quite ominous.

regarding march, with her condition, her camera affecting oronyx this way, her missing memories and her connection to the remembrance, it seems obvious that she has ties to amphoreus. as for whether she is mem/cyrene/the thirteenth titan, or rather one part of the person who was originally cyrene... if that's the case, and she was "removed" from amphoreus for some reason, that would explain why those records from the previous readable, as well as march's memories were subdued/erased/disappeared. as for my VERY personal opinion, i don't really want her to be connected to cyrene but oh well. i'm biased because of elysia but i'm trying to be objective in this post. but i also can't help but wonder if the "part" castorice is missing is actually a person (they love pulling stuff like this), and if that person might actually be march, death-and-rebirth style. i do not have anything to support this though, it was just a random idea. she could also be a powerful pathstrider of the remembrance who assisted fuli with (sealing the memories of) this world, and then her own memories were also sealed (either willingly or unwillingly), likely to protect amphoreus. or she could even be the one who created/helped create the titans - whether she really is connected to cyrene or not. oronyx does seem be somewhat aware of things, plus they do refer to someone as "mother" after all, and that someone seems to be march. we'll probably hopefully know more after the next quest.

and finally, about the black tide "from beyond the sky" - many have pointed out that it looks quite literally like data corruption, which, if amphoreus really is a replica/simulation, then it would make sense. since this is basically all we've learned about it so far, plus castorice's words that maybe "when life is devoured by the black tide, it loses its soul" i don't really have that many thoughts about it right now, but this might change with the next patch.

one more thing that could be completely unrelated but i found it interesting and this is my post so i do what i want and i want to include it:

when it comes to forgotten worlds, we got some interesting occurences/encounters/secrets during the human comedy extension. the one I think could have some relevance here is those remembered (i-iii). essentially, it's about a powerful device that's capable of storing the history of an entire planet, and that seems to be somewhat self-aware. a woman named xiaoya and her teacher, both members of the candalographos, work on/with it for about 10 years (regarding the name xiaoya, i would love to know which chinese characters they used for it for... reasons, so if anyone knows, please let me know, i haven't had luck finding it online). they then run away and bury it in the earth to prevent the history fictionologists from destroying it. before closing the lid, the teacher tells it that as long as it exists, "they will survive". in the dark, the device ponders who "they" are, spends ten amber eras recalling the history of this world, realizes "they" are humanity/civilazition, and eventually "A surge of compassion runs through your calculation unit. You begin to grow excited, excited for the light to appear once more, excited for this period of history to be once again known to the world, and excited to prove that they once lived". again, this could be unrelated, but I don’t think it completely is. even if it’s not the same world, its history could’ve similarly been preserved. (especially since hoyo loves leaving little hints in the patches prior to the release of a new world/region.)

that concludes it. i have come across so many interesting things but if i included all of them this already long post would reach the length of a novel and i really do not have the time for it either. i might write a separate post for some characters but we'll see if i actually get around to do it or not.

Mydei just seems like an upgraded blade, idk how much damage he'll actually do but his animations are pretty good, my only hang up is that I think they should've been more wet and also why is he imaginary,I don't get Hoyoverse's obsession with making male 5* imaginary

anywayyy tribbie makes me feel nothing they're cute but also a sub dps and i generally dislike/don't care for 5* chibis so im not spending a whole pity on them. but the concept is fun, a harmony that actually deals a ton of dmg. i like. mostly useless unless erudition spam tho and im skipping the herta so. don't expect tribbie to replace robin tho they're nothing alike

mydei has... merits, im excited about him as a character and i love his animations. imaginary sucks but bloodcrystals are kind of hot. his dmg isn't that impressive rn but it's just the 1st phase of beta and even firefly Herself was kind of ass in the beginning so we'll see. but i believe the real meta defining units will be castorice and phainon, with perhaps anaxa as the support/sub dps (much like acheron/aventurine as both castorice and anaxa are anniversary characters)

my only qualms rn is the fact that we only have 2 remembrance units leaked so far in the entire main cast. amphoreus is the remembrance planet. hell, the fate collab characters may not have summons either. this is extremely disappointing imo, im glad ill be able to snatch both remembrance units but come on why do we only have two for like the entire main cast of the remembrance planet. fuli, what the fuck

spoilers for trailblazer-related plot points during the jarilo-vi final boss fight, though not for the boss themself

ok so theory time

we met qlipoth the preservation in the simulated universe first (in world 1) & then later unlocked the path of preservation

(we also got the fire element in jarilo-vi, an ice world, which is a related-but-separate thing. this is kinda a stretch but i think it’d be interesting to get an element that counters wind like fire does ice. definitely not for angst reasons, i promise. and i think it’s cute that we got to match paths with march 7th and potentially dan heng first)

since we met lan the hunt next (in world 2), if the trend continues we’ll get hunt mc next

…i don’t actually know which aeon we meet in world 3, if any — i haven’t gotten that far and wasn’t able to find much online 😓 input is welcome [edit] in world 3 we meet nanook the destruction and immediately get murked (thank you @yeeted-into-the-multiverse!) why am i not surprised… at least we got an interaction with them, i guess, even if that interaction was murder

but from what my friends have told me and what i’ve dug up online, it seems like we meet ix the nihility in world 4 and yaoshi the abundance in world 5. correct me if i’m wrong bc, again, i haven’t gotten that far myself

(and of course we may meet other aeons like fuli the remembrance and aha the elation in world 1, it’s just that they don’t have playable paths.)

so i’m gonna guess that, for path progression, it’ll go like:

not sure whether we’d get erudition (nous) or harmony (xipe) first but i kinda wanna go with harmony…? which would leave my beloved aoe trailblazer ‘til last rip

^and this is mostly because we got asta as a kind of “tutorial” character — and i know we were given herta too! asta just came first.

(but also i think it’d be funny to see trailblazer bounce from harmony to nihility. imagine the whiplash for their teammates.)

wind is fast & i think ice is a good counter to that. slow enemies down, freeze them. can’t attack if you’re frozen.

this was actually the last one i put down via process of elimination kek. but, coincidentally, it ties back into matching with march (ice) and dan heng (wind) again so i’m happy with it.

honestly i think it’d be really neat if the trailblazer ended up with a similar skillset to kafka — lightning + nihility.

imaginary and quantum both feel like endgame elements to me since they kinda stick out against the more “mundane” elements.

a lot of early-game enemies in the space station are weak to quantum. said enemies are the antimatter legion, followers of nanook, the big bad. so it wouldn’t surprise me if they became late-game enemies as well, or if nanook shared that weakness.

i think that’s everything i’ve got. i’ll reblog this with updates as i’m proven wrong or right.

ALSO NEVER APOLOGIZE FOR RANTING I LOVE RANTS ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY RELATE TO YANQING!!!! anyway. i cant say toooo much about eruditionqing bc i dont want to really spoil it but i can outline the fic (kinda) the first fic in the series (the prequel) is basically just setting up for the mainfic, i originally didnt have this one but then i realized like a BUNCH of plot points in the mainfic would be unrealistic w/out the setup... so... the second fic (the mainfic) is kind of like a horizon series inspired thing (horizon zero dawn/horizon forbidden west) where yanqing is creating a program that can independently govern a xianzhou ship (inspired by the chaos resulting from the stellaron disaster) the third fic (sequel) is yanqing ascending to emanator of erudition status, where in each chapter he is asked a question (by an unknown figure i cant disclose as of yet) and answers it through a flashback that relates him to erudition (like a flashback to the first time he went 2 the alchemy commission which kickstarted his interest in biology, et cetera) i have three oneshots branching off the mainfic (one is a silverwolf & yanqing centric, two are expanding on one of the chapters in the mainfic) as well as a couple more ideas but nothing concrete yet ive also got a separate eruditionqing au (where hes like. anaxa & herta/ruanmei level crazy about it) where hes lowkey tweaking out about the aeons which im gonna use as an excuse to theorydump/go absolutely crazy with headcanons. i think im gonna fuse this one with the normal horizonqing after i finish the threequel & the oneshots its gonna take me one william years to write but who cares. anything for yanqing (ignoring my five other unfinished multichapter yqfics)
