Hi! I just wanted to tell you how much I love your story "Nowhere To Run"! It's really hard to read it (especially because I love Mav the most😅), but the whole plot is very believable and just keeps your attention. If you decide to continue it someday, I would be thrilled to read it! It may seem foolish😅, but I hope that everyone will eventually have their happy ending. (But I'll be pleased with whatever you decide!)

First off- THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS MESSAGE! It's no secret that I have had a lot of challenges with writing (I play the comparison game way too much and have absolutely zero confidence), so hearing your kind words and thoughts really mean the world! So thank you!

Oh Nowhere to Run, the first real story I wrote for the Top Gun fandom and was so scared to post! I’m sorry for painting Maverick and Rooster in a REALLY bad light but I just couldn’t get passed how much could have went wrong with choosing Bradley and the bias to try to win back his affection. (I also though Bradley said some of the worst things and was out of line so many times!)

But all that is negated because I stopped writing like the WORST PERSON EVER. I do have the ending in my head and written out a bit. My problem is getting to that ending on paper, but god I wish I could find the writing bug again to give you all the endings you deserve!!! I'm sorry for my cliff hangars, I'm sorry for leaving EVERY story hanging.

Please know that comments like your MAKE MY FREAKING DAY! It means a lot and you’re awesome! I’m sorry for letting you, and anyone else that has read my story, down by not finishing.

I, honestly, need Jason picking up Bruce's arguments during fights and using them back on him. In the most unexpected moments. Just imagine Bruce getting mad during another of their patrols, and in the middle of the screaming session, Jason just switches and doubles him with his own phrases.

Jason: Okay, that's enough. You are benched from being my side-kick.

Bruce, flabbergasted: Excuse me?

Jason: You heard me. This is unspeakable violence you are displaying here, by the way.

Bruce: ???

Need a fic where Dustin goes into Hellfire real strong about Steve Harrington being his best friend and no one believes him. So he tries to prove it but Steve is just not working with him.

Like, he’s goes, “No, seriously. We’re best friends. Practically brothers. He’s going to pick me up today, just you see.”

But then Keith got sick so Steve’s stuck at work until closing so Claudia picks him up. She waved at him from the driver’s seat and Eddie is just like, “That you Steve Harrington or am I dreaming?”

“Ew, don’t say that.”

Eddie drives the boys to a game shop the next town over and on the way back, Dustin gets Eddie to stop in Loch Nora. He’ll prove that Steve is his friend.

But Steve isn’t home when they knock on his door and Steve’s dad doesn’t know who Dustin is (they’ve met three times). Dustin is just like, “Son of a bitch, thanks for nothing.”

Dustin decides he’s going to prove himself once and for all because the Hellfire boys keep giving him pitying looks. He invites Eddie over for dinner and then calls Steve like, “After work, be here.”

Except the reception was shitty so Steve heard “Ben-Hur” and just dropped the movie off with Claudia. He went home and never showed up for dinner. Dustin asked his mom to tell Eddie that he’s friends with Steve. She does but it sounds like a lie.

So he goes to the source.

He drags Eddie into Family Videos and tells Steve to tell him that they’re friend, but…Steve doesn’t. He blatantly ignores him. He helps customers. He types on the computer. He doesn’t acknowledge Dustin at all until finally, Dustin asks, “Is this about the tape?”

“Yes, it’s about the tape!” Steve explodes in exasperation. “It’s late! It’s on my account. I’m getting fees!”

“Oh my god, I’ll bring you the movie. Just say we’re friends.”

“Yes! We’re friends.”

But by then, Eddie had already left.

He literally said "God loves us ALL" and his first words were about peace, unity and dialogue, I reckon this is as progressive as a Pope gets!! thank fuck!! 😭🫶🏻

EDIT.- I didn't say he was woke or progressive, I said as woke or progressive AS IT GETS considering, mostly, that there was insane pressure from conservative factions within society & the Church to pick someone who would undo everything Francis did that was even remotely decent. Were there more progressive candidates? Yes, I'm sure, but do you SERIOUSLY think that they stood a chance after Francis!? He was seen as a Communist FFS, and his successor was definitely NOT going to be someone who might turn the human rights up a notch. Sorry to bring the mood down, but them choosing an actually progressive Pope was about as likely as the ESC committee kicking Israhell out of the competition.

It's in THAT regard that I'm relieved, because yeah, the guy is far from perfect and has queerphobic views (which are literally in line with the views upheld by the Catechism of the Catholic Church, mind you). But for fuck's sake. Right now we don't get to protest that the new head of one of the most regressive institutions on Earth isn't as progressive as we'd like, alright? He was one of the lesser evils, so I would say that that's enough reason to be glad that we didn't get a turbofascist Pope. For YEARS I've been hearing conservative family members pray that we'd get someone who would "undo the Communist disgrace this Antichrist of a Pope is putting the Church through" (I shit you not, they were actually calling Francis that), so frankly...

I might come across as overly excited for this dude, but in truth I'm just relieved that we weren't hit with a Hitlerinni McBigoted kind of guy given the Church's funny tendency to make up for the odd "progressive" Pope (such as Francis) by picking grotesquely conservative successors from the deepest pits of the far right 🤡

EDIT 2.- As some users pointed out in the tags and made me aware of, he's lived in Peru for approximately 40 years and received the Peruvian citizenship. Since I'm not from Peru, I don't think it's my place to decide whether he is or isn't "Peruvian enough", but congrats Peru on scoring a Pope! 🇵🇪

I am once again just. So messed up about the fact that Gideon Nav sat in Harrow’s skull and saw exactly what God did to her. She saw how he lied and gas lit her. She was there when Harrow was hunted like an animal over and over again and she was there when she begged God for safety and he did nothing. The girl that she literally died for! Gideon got to see some of the worst pieces of that man.

Then boom that’s her dad.

No wonder she’s so fucking miserable.

This new comic is so good… Mizi knowing that others value her for her perceived innocence and seemingly always optimistic attitude, when in reality it’s not all genuine and she just bottles up her emotions to protect herself and others from them. She may not be aware of the full extent of their circumstances, but that doesn’t mean that her life is a paradise; she still experiences hardships and grief and guilt the same as everyone else.

No wonder she feels like she’s responsible for the deaths of those around her. She believes she's led them on, that they fell for a person she isn’t and cannot be, and thus died for that false persona. It makes the other characters hiding the truth from her, especially Sua, even more sad and horrifying. They wanted to keep Mizi’s naivety as a means of escapism, willing to die for it, but they were protecting a Mizi that didn’t truly exist. Mizi didn’t know it would lead to this; she didn’t even fully understand what she was getting herself into with Alien Stage. The worst possible outcome has occurred with her hiding her emotions, and she didn’t even know it was one in the first place.

Edit: follow up post to this one just in case

(I don't think this comic is confirmation that Mizi knew what Alien Stage truly had in store. I think her grief and self-hatred are just accusing her of knowing when she really didn't.)
