again and again i find myself lamenting that audio roleplay isn't taken more seriously by some people. like yeah, they often have a romantic element, and by nature they usually directly involve/address the listener- and i totally get that those things aren't to everyone's taste. no art or entertainment is universally appealing, and that's okay! but.. it still makes me a lil sad that the "cringe" reputation of asmr/audio rp precedes it. there's a whole lot of talent and creativity being poured into these audios by so many people that i feel goes unrecognized and/or disrespected simply due to the medium that the stories are being told through.

I suppose that this maybe a hot take, but, i feel like some parts of the Danny Phantom fandom are kinda missing the point of what direction the series has been trying to take lately and what themes is going for?

Don't get me wrong, i do like all related superhero stuff and crossovers with it are cool since Danny Phantom takes a lot from that but uh... A Glitch In Time is aiming to something pretty different from that?

In the graphic novel there is a lot of emphasis of how ghost powers come from human emotion and there is another way to help them than to fight them. There is emphasis in how people have the capacity to change and how their social environment has an impact in the way the end up to be.

These things... kinda go against the superhero narrative since they tend to be more about individual storytelling and crime and punishment. In contrast, A Glitch In Time aims more for restorative justice and a social narrative.

Hell, even Danny talks about how he doesn't like fighting that much and he defined himself into that role to protect other people. He talks about how he wants to bring the human world and Ghost Zone together again. He falls more under the catergory of a harmonizer than a superhero.

home school is frustrating to watch not because the show is bad (i love the show i have so many thoughts) but because despite the wildly different reasons (and stakes and intensity), seeing the education institution systems making students do things without any explanation or logic or reason just because they can and being absolutely unreasonable is very real of them.

Maybe it's because of the spaces I'm in, but transmisogyny and transandrophobia are kind of two sides of the same coin. Especially with how I and others have been discussing it.

Like- we are all facing anti-trans sentiment, many on a daily basis. Transphobia kinda just displays differently for trans women, trans men, and nonbinary individuals. I genuinely think we all need to be able to find ways to discuss our own intersections in ways that make sense to us.

Like- trans men shouldn't be having a say in how trans women speak of their experiences with transmisogyny. Same for trans women on the topic of transandrophobia.

There's quite a bit of overlap between experiences but there's also huge differences that one can't possibly reach. Transmisogyny can't possibly encapsulate all the issues we (or at the very least, I and others I've discussed this with) have dealt with, being trans men.

But I've also spoken to people who's experiences can be explained well using both terms- because they've been misidentified, because they were born intersex- really, the core reasoning doesn't matter to me. It just matters that people have the language they need to be able to discuss their intersections of experiences.
